Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I have really bad seasonal allergies and was desperate to get rid of my horrible nasal congestion. As advertised, this drug does wonders for your nose, but the side effects that come with it are almost unbearable. Constant dull headache makes you jittery and super anxious, random muscle spasms, and sometimes it feels like my heart is going to explode. The lack of sleep tops it off. Sure, it’s great to breathe, but the side effects it comes with don’t seem worth it. I only took the drug for five days before I had to stop."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "I took this at 7 am to try and fix itchy eyes. So far, 4 hours later, there is still slight itchiness and wateriness. Worse is the side effects. I feel slightly jittery, yet mentally it feels like I've taken a tranquilizer. I don't feel I'm safe to drive. Basically, if you are a first-time user of the 24-hour version, don't try it on a day you have to use a car."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "After suffering with nasal congestion and trying a variety of allergy medicines, I tried using Claritin-D. Although it didn't clear up the nasal congestion, at first I did seem to feel better. THEN, the side effects started: extreme dry mouth, stomach pain, headaches, feeling nervous, faster heart rate, constipation, tingly feeling under my skin, insomnia, urinating less than usual. After quitting the medicine, I also had high blood pressure, fear and anxiety (I was afraid to be alone, so my grown children came to stay with me several days). I wouldn't take it again!!!"

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Two years ago in the spring, I had bad allergies with a stuffy nose, so I tried Claritin-D for a few weeks. I had lots of energy, heart palpitations, insomnia, and anxiety. Then I started breaking out in a rash, so I stopped taking the Claritin. It seems like the Claritin made me develop more allergies because I break out in hives almost daily since I took it. Wished I had never taken it."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "My doctor recommended this to me because both my ears are congested. I'm not used to really taking medications. Just Tylenol and Motrin. So my first hour after taking it, I felt super nervous. My heart was pounding, felt like it was going to burst through my chest, and my breathing was really weird. Then later that night, I could not sleep for the life of me. I kept tossing and turning. Basically stayed up watching t.v. My fiancé asked if I had been up all night. I was up for more than 24 hours. I took 2 melatonin the night after, and I fell asleep. Woke up with a headache and dizziness. Mind you, I have anxiety. It triggered it. First time trying it and would not recommend it to anyone. YOU WILL NOT SLEEP."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "My doctor recommended Claritin-D since I have been having problems with my ears relating to allergies. I took one pill at night thinking it would make me drowsy when it did the exact opposite. I was wide awake the entire night, my heart was racing, and I was beyond jittery. I even felt paranoid at one point. I took one of my hydroxyzine pills in hopes it would help, it didn’t. I already have anxiety, and I felt like I was on the verge of having a panic attack on this medicine. The next day I feel dizzy still, and my mouth is dry. I would not recommend this medicine at night, especially if you already have anxiety."

For Nasal Congestion "The side effects were/are horrible. I took this 30 hours ago, and I still have anxiety. I didn't sleep the whole night! I feel like I was on drugs! I will never take this again. The pseudoephedrine is too stimulating."

For Nasal Congestion "OMG, I went to the doctor ($75 copay) and then was prescribed this OTC legal “drug.” I tried to go to work, and it felt like I was on something illegal. The pseudoephedrine ingredient caused me to hallucinate, couldn’t focus at all, and I had the worst anxiety ever. I tried to rest, and I had horrible racing thoughts and really strange negative thoughts too. It was awful. I don't think it helped my runny nose and “allergies.” It just made me feel mentally unwell. The side effect was far worse than it helping. I wouldn’t take this again if you paid me!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "My 13-yr-old has seasonal allergies (spring), which, of course, vary each year. This year is worse - more congestion, coughing, and itchy throat. Normally, Claritin does the trick, but I tried Claritin-D 24 hr. It helped with the additional symptoms, but on the second day, my child had trouble sleeping, complained that the heart beat was faster, and was anxious. After reading other reviews of loratadine/pseudoephedrine, I realized these are indeed side effects and will have to go back to regular Claritin (without the pseudoephedrine)."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "The worst medicine ever tried, shaking, anxiety, heart palpitations, insomnia. Regular Claritin is much better, the pseudoephedrine is a dangerous drug."
