For Insomnia "Often even taking these within 30 to 60 minutes of going to bed not only does not work but sometimes prevents sleep all night! Very ineffective. I am disappointed with the product."

For Insomnia "For some reason, after taking the 2 tablets, when I get the sensation of impending sleep, I’m jolted out of my “sleepiness” because of what feels like sleep apnea. I would guess, this medicine relaxes so much that my breathing changes... horrible feeling. So with that.... I got zero sleep!"

For Insomnia "Used as directed to help me get to sleep, took the gel pill, made me even more awake. Tried the other unisom with the other sleep aid medication, just made me dizzy, with dry mouth, and kept me awake. These are a joke!!!!!"

For Insomnia "I have been experiencing insomnia for the past several years. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. My doctor has prescribed Amien for my insomnia but it only works some of the time so I started adding the sleep tabs. I have read reviews where people have to only take 1/4-1/2 a tablet to sleep, me I can take 2 or 3 with Ambien and still stay awake for the night. I'm not sure why but it doesn't work for me. I'm working with my GP to resolve the issue because I can go for weeks on only 1 or 2 hours a night sleep. It makes it difficult to focus and be on my game at work. Just an FYI for those looking for something that works..."

For Insomnia "Boy did this make me sleep. I never really woke up the day after I took it, but if I can count on this to make me sleep I am optimistic. A prior reviewer indicates that they do fine with just 1/3 of a pill, so I am going to try half and take it at least an hour before bed."

For Insomnia "I was prescribed diclegis by my OB for extreme nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Diclegis is not covered by insurance so I researched what it was and it's basically unisom and Vitamin B6. Now the active ingredient is what is in the sleep tabs, not gels. The gels have diphenhydramine so if you are using this review to help ease nausea during pregnancy, make sure you are buying the sleep tabs. Anyway, I take one tab at night (Check it is the right dose doxylamine 10mg) and it totally works. I don't wake up feeling nauseated at all and I sleep through the night. I do feel a little groggy in the AM, but it's hard to tell if it's from the pill or pregnancy in general. Upon further research, I discovered that the tabs were originally so designed to help with nausea. Hope this helps!"

For Insomnia "I switched to this due to all the hype about how great it is for sleep. It is completely ineffective for me! Does nothing at the typical dosage. I can get it to work at larger doses, but that does not make it worthwhile. Diphenhydramine has been much more effective, I have just been taking it so long- thought it was time for a change."

For Insomnia "I've always had trouble falling asleep so I bought these one day to try it out and they work great for me. They knock me out in 30 minutes and I get a good nights rest. I use it every once in a while when I have a lot on my mind and just wanna sleep. Only downside to it is that I have a very hard time getting up in the morning when I take one and it makes me sleep even longer which I don't prefer cause it messes with my sleep schedule."

For Insomnia "I have RLS and insomnia. I don't want to use an addictive medication for sleep. Unisom has thus far been very helpful. I start feeling the effects after about 30-45 minutes. Also I try not to take it every day. 1 every few days. I needed it and I'm happy with the results."

For Insomnia "I'm a 43 yr old healthy female who has had recent spinal disc degeneration so pain has been tough. Sleep was always elusive a bit except when exercise a big part of my life; now sleep has gotten more unobtainable. I used to get rx ambien but as predicted, it stopped working quickly with tolerance (non-addictive like unisom, but habit-forming and awful on memory - be wary of zolpidem/ambien.) Unisom and its generic have contributed to depression and ill feelings. I think this is quite literally as the bottle reads, for OCCASIONAL sleeplessness. Wishing it worked more regularly."

For Insomnia "I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant, I've been having some trouble sleeping so I decided to take unisome, I've never felt so restless in my life! I'm wide awake, dry mouth, awful taste in my mouth. I think it had the opposite effect on me, I feel sleepy but just cannot fall asleep. Very frustrating, gonna have to find another solution."

For Insomnia "I go to the gym late at night after work. I take a high stimulant pre workout powder prior to my workout which doesn't allow me to sleep till hours after my late night workout. Took 2 unisom pills and knocked out within 20 min. Good solid sleep"

For Insomnia "This is the first time I took unisom. I'm pregnant and have been having trouble sleeping. I took it the first night and I as asleep within 30 minutes. It was the best sleep I've had in awhile and woke up feeling great but the second night taking it didn't go so well. It didn't make me drowsy one bit. I tried taking a second pill and nothing worked. I'm not sure why it worked the first night for me but not the second. :("

For Insomnia "I break the 25 MG tbs into THIRDS and take it about an hour before bed. I try to have at least 7 hours for sleeping. More is better. Only feel groggy when my sleep time is less than 7 hours. Love it! I also use the generic versions."

For Insomnia "I am 24 years old, I had to stay awake during the nights of the last week due to a university exam. four days after the exam is finished i can not sleep well because my bed time has changed. and i feel so tired during the day. last night at 2:45 am I took one (50 mg) Tab and after 30 - 40 min i slept deeply. At 9:00 am (after 6 hours) I woke up feeling little bit heavy and sleepy, so I went beck to sleep for another 2 hours. After that I woke up feeling fresh and energetic like if i had a good continous sleep through the night."

For Insomnia "I'm a 23 yr old with severe anxiety and insomnia and my insomnia has been getting worse over the past few months. I can't remember the last time I slept through the night or fell asleep in less than three hours. Melatonin did nothing for me and Benadryl didn't do much either. I tried unisom last night. I fell asleep much faster than usual- probably took me about 30 minutes. But after 2 1/2 hrs I was awake again. I couldn't fall back to sleep. I tried looking up if I could take another 25mg (I had taken 50mg before I went to sleep) but I couldn't find anything about whether 75mgs total is too much? I'm frustrated because it put me to sleep so quickly, and I slept heavily, but it lasted so short a time that it barely made a difference."

For Insomnia "Couldn't sleep last night. Finally at 3 am, I looked in cabinet and found this. I took 2 blue tablets. 30 mins i was asleep. Friend texted at 10 am, woke up and I was extremely groggy, unsteady, heavy eyelids. Just felt weird. I drank a cup of coffee and still groggy. Hours later, i still felt bad. Went back to bed at 2ish. I decided to check out what the heck happened. Looks like I took to much. It did put me to sleep at the expense of my saturday off feeling like crud. Will try 1 next time. 2 was to much for sure."

For Insomnia "I actually find the gels a lot more successful to falling asleep and waking up alert. It sort of kicks you awake the next morning. The sleep tabs however, make you groggy the next morning. Try the gel caps!"

For Insomnia "I've had ongoing problems falling asleep/ staying asleep- benadryl never worked for me. I got desperate one night and took some night time cough syrup which worked! I checked the ingredients, saw "doxylamine"-key ingredient in unisom - and have been successfully using unisom to get to sleep when I need it! No side effects, I take the recommended dose (1 pill)"
