For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Tradjenta for 90 days. I have gained 13 pounds, my daily fasting numbers are up by 20 points, my joints and back ache regularly, I have diarrhea several times a day and I have no energy. Today, I called my doctor with all of these side effects, and he told me to stop the medication and keep track of my daily fasting blood sugar. I wish I could do it on my own, with no drugs!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have tried a few drugs now that are for type 2 diabetes. My regular doctor sent me to a specialist, and she had me try Tradjenta. She said it would help me curb my hunger and such, to which it did. The big downfall was that my blood sugar went skyrocketing. I am also on Lantus pen slow release at nighttime. We upped my intake at night, and it was even higher on fasting. I have experienced weight gain, even though I am not eating as much or carbs. I have called every week with updates on the issues that I am having with no response from the doctor as of yet. I have stopped taking this drug and am back to just diet and exercise and Lantus at night before bed, and guess what, my blood sugar is lower by almost 50 points, and this is just one day!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Tradjenta for about 6 months. I have had numerous sinus infections, I'm tired, my joints are so painful, and I've gained weight. I did not think anything of it until I decided to figure out what changed, and this all started after taking Tradjenta. I cannot wait to stop this medication. I am switching to Jardiance, I know that also has side effects, but I am willing to try it out. The constant feeling of having a cold with Tradjenta is not worth it anymore."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Even though I was eating healthy, I gained weight on Tradjenta. It affected my gut. I’m not sure what it did for blood sugar, but my belly increased in size. I felt like my insides were swelling. I have been better getting off of it and just using diet and exercise to help with blood sugar."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking the Tradjenta 5 mg tablet once a day in mid-December 2022. By May, I asked my healthcare provider to prescribe a different medication due to significant side effects, including weight gain, abdominal tenderness, extreme dry eye, fatigue, and depression."
