Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Ladies. I literally thought I was pregnant. I took the pill on the 21st of Nov, we were unprotected and weren’t sure if he pulled out quick enough. I took it within an hour. A day later, I felt nauseous, had a headache, and experienced breast tenderness. I felt that for 2 weeks, and then I had withdrawal bleeding, which I low-key mixed up for implantation bleeding. After that, I had every symptom from frequent urination to my ovaries feeling weird, with so much pressure and my nipples darkening, all of it. Even a lot of discharge. I was too scared to take a pregnancy test, so I figured I would just wait it out, and today, Jan 6, I finally got my period!!! This is my second time taking Plan B, and definitely an experience. I will never put myself through this again. Ladies, please be safe and get on birth control if this is a recurring thing. God bless!!!"

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "Had my Mirena inserted about 2 weeks ago. I am 22 and haven't had any kids. I wanted an alternative to the pill as I've been on it for 6 years. I have to say that I was pretty nervous after reading so many bad comments. I was on the 3rd day of my period and, for me, the insertion hurt like a couple of pinches and a really bad cramp that gave me all hot and made me nauseous. But it only took about 10 minutes, and then it was okay. The rest of the day I had fairly strong cramps but nothing unbearable. The next day I felt back to normal. My period lasted another couple of days and stopped like normal. Since then, I have had very minor spotting with an odd little cramp here and there. Very happy so far."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I told myself I would share my experience. Having 1 kid already, so I definitely don't want another one. I took Plan B within 30 min. UPS happened on my fertile day, so that made me more worried. The next day, I had all the symptoms: nausea, semi-bloated, worst feeling ever. I got worried and stressed and just wanted my period to come already. I researched and read the reviews. I trusted the pill process, and my period came 4 days early. I cramped like no other, but hey, at least not pregnant. My last time putting myself through this."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I spent hours and days reading and re-reading everyone’s experience with this pill, and here goes mine. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on my ovulation day (according to several period trackers). I took the pill 5-6 hours after we did it. The reviews say it’s useless if you have already begun ovulating, but I took it anyway. THEN I started reading about how the pill isn’t as effective if you’re overweight. I’m 5’3”, 220 lbs, so that scared me. I didn’t have any spotting after taking it, but I had severe headaches and nausea the same day. My period finally came 5 days late, and I was scared because I never had any cramps, breast tenderness, or any symptoms of anything the days before my period came. I still took a pregnancy test even though I’m bleeding. It’s negative. Take the pill, ladies, and STAY OFF the internet! Lesson learned. Getting on birth control, but most importantly, staying celibate until there is a ring on my finger. Hope this helped someone!"

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "I have just recently gotten Kyleena. The insertion was pretty painful, and I have a pretty good pain tolerance. I was told ahead of time that it's okay that it's going to feel like a cramp at first. After the insertion, they sat me up and told me to sit for a minute before getting up and changing, but right after they walked out, I passed out onto the floor face-first. After I came to, I got back on the table, and it took me about 3 minutes to be able to speak. My body was in so much shock, and I finally called for help. They came, and then when they came in, I threw up, and that is very uncommon for me. I wasn't safe driving home, so I had to call for a ride. The rest of that day, I had the worst cramps of my life. As the days go on, the cramps are still there and hurt. (Your heat pad will become your best friend.) Now I'm just trying to wait it out and see if it gets better, but I am thinking about taking it out. I just wanted to put my story and experience out there to show my side effects of Kyleena."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Four weeks ago, my boyfriend and I became intimate for the first time. We didn’t have protection around, but continued. He pulled out but was late, and some was in. I took the pill 24+ hours after the incident. I heard they make you nauseous, I felt nothing. I had what I think was my period a few days after taking the pill (it can change the cycle/bleed). But oh boy, fast forward three weeks, I had cramping, constipation, gas, tender breasts, and bloating. All this coming around the time you would start to have pregnancy signs. I thought I was done for right there. I bought a pregnancy test, however, and it came up negative, I didn’t believe it. For a whole week, I had these side effects. These side effects finally stopped about three days ago, and I got my period today. This period took less than 25 days to come. (I’m not on birth control, irregular periods). It works but messes you up, if you’re like me, these side effects don’t appear until weeks after, try not to panic. Keep your head up, ladies!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "My period ended Jan 26th, and I had sex on Feb 3rd. The second my boyfriend realized the condom broke, we jumped in the car and got the Plan B pill, which I took immediately (45 minutes after sex). During the time the condom broke and I took Plan B, I was ovulating, according to my period tracker app and physical signs. I got my period on the exact day I was scheduled to get it (two weeks after sex). I also took a pregnancy test, which came back negative. Such a relief. Plan B made me very lethargic and sick to my stomach for about two weeks. So happy with the product. If you took it and are still freaking out... Don't!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "First of all, my period is irregular, it mostly comes on day 35 to 40. My last period was on August 1-August 7. I lost my virginity with a friend on August 10 (day 10 of my cycle), and my ovulation was due on August 23 (pretty far). The sex was unprotected, but the guy didn’t cum inside of me. I took Plan B about 4-5 hours after what happened. Two days later, I got a urinary infection, and I took antibiotics for 3 days (I read that it doesn’t affect how Plan B works). I started spotting/bleeding brown and red discharge on August 16-August 21. The bleeding covered a whole panty liner, so I used pads some days. My side effects: dizziness, nausea, cramps, and bloating. My period was expected to come on September 7, but I’m two weeks late. I have taken a lot of pregnancy tests, and all are negative. The dizziness, nausea, and cramps haven't gone away till this day. I had also a lot of white/watery discharge till this day. YOU GOT THIS GIRL!!!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Not going to lie, this pill can possibly make you go insane. But, like all the other reviews say - just be patient. Experience: Last period prior to the pill: June 11th. Incident: June 21st (possibly ovulating). Took the pill possibly within maybe 3 minutes after (super paranoid). Very light bleeding June 26th (for about 3 days). Symptoms (for a month after taking the pill): nausea, no appetite, cramps (on and off), some acne, lower back pain. Obviously, all symptoms of pregnancy. Took maybe 6 pregnancy tests and a blood test (all negative). Period came exactly one month after the light bleeding occurred. Please don't make yourself sick like I did. I lost like 10 pounds from freaking out alone. Patience is key."

For Emergency Contraception "I want to share my experience with you guys. My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex two days after her period was over, and there was no ejaculation, but precum pregnancy always worried me. I gave her the pill 29 hours later, and 6 days after, she had bleeding/spotting that lasted 3 days. I was freaking out because I know when the embryo implants itself in the endometrium, there is such bleeding. I began to get paranoid, she started getting nausea, sore breasts, every pregnancy symptom. I was losing my mind, even doubting my own medical knowledge, and then she missed her period. One week passed, and I was already thinking about how my life was going to change. Her period came. It works, guys! I know what y'all are going through, and I want to tell you it is going to be okay. Stop reading stupid reviews, stupid unscientific articles on 'woman sites.' I was doubting my own embryology/pharmacology/ob-gyn knowledge. Don't look up stupid articles, I repeat, everything is going to be okay."

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "I had my Mirena inserted 1/4/10 and I love it! I know everyone is different, but it has been great for me. I'm 24, never had kids, and was on the pill for the past 6 years. Insertion was uncomfortable and painful, but not horrid (and I have a low pain tolerance). However, my doc did give me a local (lidocaine) which I'm sure made a huge difference, and I would not do it without. I felt dizzy and nauseous for the first hour after and relatively bad cramping for three hours. The next day I was a bit tender, and by day three, I was my normal self. Had some very light cramping for two weeks and now nothing, not even my period. I did have a little acne at first, but that may have had to do with going off the pill. I've even lost weight."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Ladies, let me tell you this pill works! My boyfriend and I had the condom fail right during the middle of my cycle. I went to the pharmacy about 9 hours later and bought some. Right after I took it, I felt fatigued the whole first day. I did experience some other side effects as well, seeing as I have never been on any hormonal contraceptive. I had cramps for the full two weeks until I got my period, as well as breast tenderness. The week after I took the pill, I felt nauseous, had sore breasts, a sore back, cramps, and headaches. I thought I was pregnant and got really stressed out. I got my period right on time though, despite my stress. My best advice is to just relax and wait it out. Easier said than done, I know!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I took Plan B one hour after unprotected sex. I waited two weeks to get my period, and it was a very stressful wait. On the second week, I began getting weird cramp-like feelings. I was worried I was pregnant. The day before my period arrived, I was extremely nauseous. However, today I woke up, and my period arrived! I was so relieved and happy. Except today, my cramps were SO bad that I actually threw up and was quite dizzy. It's all worth it though, as I was extremely scared for two weeks. If you are reading this, please don't stress! The pill is very effective, and is over 95% effective taken within the first 24 hours."

Levonorgestrel for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I got the Mirena after my first baby. I didn’t think it was awful to have inserted, but it was a little achy and felt pressure for a few weeks after. But then I loved it and loved not having periods. No problems for 3 years, and then I started having vaginal itching and a smell down there like mashed potatoes. I also had brown spotting that didn’t seem to want to stop. The doctor gave me a pack of birth control pills and told me to take 4 at once, it made me nauseous as anything, but it stopped the bleeding. After the second baby, I got the Mirena again, and now at 2 years on the second Mirena, I’m starting to have vaginal itching again with a sour vaginal smell. I’m also having thick flesh-colored discharge coming out in clumps. I actually think it’s the mucous membranes from my uterus lining coming out without blood, if that’s even possible. I’ve noticed having leg cramps too. All in all, I love Mirena and have no regrets and will continue to use it until either my husband or I get fixed."

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "Sure, it is true I did not get pregnant while using Mirena. However, the quality of life is so absolutely poor I truly wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Effects include and are not limited to: severe depression, intolerable headaches, nausea and inability to eat, inexplicable weight gain, extreme fatigue/lack of energy, no desire to exercise, aches, soreness, anxiety, and fear. My doctor wouldn't even listen to what I had to say, dismissing it as “other problems” I must've had previously. I legitimately never write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn women."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I have been pregnant a total of 7 times. I had unprotected sex, and he came inside. I ran straight to the pharmacy once it opened up. So, of course, here I am, first timer, and they would not use insurance, I needed to obtain a prescription. But it was Saturday, and this was an emergency, so no time for BS. I paid $55. I took the pill immediately (8 hours post-oopsie). Day 1 was fine. Day 2 was awful! I was dizzy, nauseous, my breasts hurt, and the medication made me feel extremely depressed. I kept searching “how long do Plan B side effects last.” Their website says 24 hours - yeah right. Today is Day 7 and I started bleeding, like a heavier period, with cramping. I keep reading that this is “uncommon.” I feel dizzy and nauseous. My legs feel like they keep going numb. If I still feel this way in the morning, I will go to the ER. Every day is an anxiety attack over how I’m feeling. Since I’m bleeding, I’m assuming that means it worked."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I definitely recommend Plan B for any girls who have had unprotected sex and are scared of the possible outcome. My experience with Plan B was both good and bad. I took Plan B 5 hours after the condom broke. Unfortunately for me, it was my predicted day of ovulation. At first, I had faith in Plan B, but after reading hundreds of reviews, I had mixed emotions. I have a 40-day cycle, sometimes earlier, but never more than 40 days. The morning after taking Plan B, I got serious nausea, and I was so tired; I slept a lot. My symptoms went on for about 2 weeks. I also was very emotional during this time. Plan B really messes up your hormones, and I was so overemotional. Since the condom broke and he finished inside me, AND it was on ovulation day, I was freaking out. I also had tons of discharge. I kept thinking I got my period and would race to the washroom; however, it was this clear discharge. I was very concerned and thought that Plan B had failed. On the day I was supposed to get my period, there was nothing. A few days passed, and there was still nothing. I was still very nauseous, my boobs were super sore, and I had weird cramps every so often. I was preparing for the worst, but finally, a week after I was supposed to, I got my period. At first, it was light, and I was, once again, worried it was a sign of pregnancy; spotting. The day after, I got my normal flow. Plan B saved me, and I'm so thankful; I will definitely be more careful next time. All in all, Plan B is very effective, and I recommend it; however, the symptoms were pretty bad. Then again, it is a lot better than being pregnant and not ready for the responsibility. I'm only 16 years old and definitely capable of raising a child. Avoid a next time; Plan B should be used for emergencies only and not regularly. I read tons of things on the Internet about Plan B, and I wouldn't trust all of the feedback. Plan B DOES work during and after ovulation. I am very grateful for Plan B and give it the highest rating for effectiveness."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "So I took Plan B 30 mins after a slip-up. It's a week later, and I'm having mild cramping and a little nausea. Is this normal? It was also my ovulation date according to my period tracker. I pray I'm safe. My period is due in 6 days."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "I have officially never been so stressed out in my life. I took Plan B within 10 hours of unprotected sex. A couple of days went by and I felt nothing. On the 5th day, I had really weird cramps on my right side under my hip bone which lasted for about 3 days. Then I got really weird brown discharge. Then I started spotting a little bit. On the 10th day, I felt so nauseated they had to send me home from work. I ended up throwing up and then got my period 30 minutes later. Needless to say, the pill did work, but I hope to never have to take it again."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "So I promised myself I would come back and share my experience once this pill worked. To the person reading this right now, I was in your shoes just 2 days ago. Relax, what'll happen will happen, but also believe that this pill will work. So on the 19th of January, I had unprotected sex with my friend, and he didn't pull out. I freaked, and ended up taking the pill 6 hours later. Then I wanted to see how efficient this pill was and started to read reviews and freak myself out. DON'T DO THIS! All you're doing is causing yourself unneeded stress! A week later, I started spotting/got my period? I wasn't sure what it was at the time. I did more research and thought it might be implantation, which it wasn't. It's crazy because my body started to fall for it too. I started getting nauseous and tired, and my period didn't come until the day before yesterday. So basically, relax! You're going to be fine! Stop reading these insane reviews!"

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "The insertion was one of the most painful experiences I've had in my life (my body simulated labor). Upon insertion, I felt extreme menstrual cramps that had me doubled over in pain, nauseous, and lightheaded. I took 2 Tylenol beforehand (as directed), and the extremely intense cramps subsided within the hour. Cramps were much more bearable from then on. I had light bleeding for the following 2 weeks after insertion. I had cramps here and there, but nothing severe at all. I now have my IUD for 5 months, and my experience has been super positive! Little to no cramping for the past 3-4 months, and I no longer get periods. I'm not sure that I will get the IUD again when my current one has to be taken out in 5 years, but my experience has been favorable thus far (besides the insertion, but it was worth the very temporary pain). I recommend Kyleena to people who don't love taking the pill and want reliable birth control that they won't have to constantly worry about. Hope this helps!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Okay, so I had sex on the 16th of August. It was completely raw, he didn’t pull out or anything. I was scared that I was going to get pregnant, and I couldn’t get the pill until 32 hours later. I wasn’t ovulating, but I was about to, and sperm lasts 3-5 days in your system. So I got the pill like 32 hours later, and then after that, I had pregnancy symptoms. I missed my period, headaches, nausea, etc. My period was late by 12 days. I took a pregnancy test 3 days after I missed my period, and it came out negative. I took another one at the doctor, and it came out negative too. I was so relieved, but I was still scared because I didn’t get my period. The doctor told me Plan B makes you miss your period sometimes, and yesterday I got spotting. It started coming heavier, and it was my period!! This pill actually works, just STAY calm, everything will be okay!"

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "These reviews helped me a lot to calm down when I was a stressed-out mess. I had unprotected sex on Oct. 11. We typically use condoms, but not that day. Dumb. I was not sure Plan B would work because I was ovulating. I took it the day my calendar said I would be the most fertile. Still worth a try. I took it, and I experienced EVERY single possible symptom of pregnancy. Sore boobs, tired, moody, retaining water, cramps, nausea! I thought these would fade, but after two weeks, I still had some of the symptoms, especially backache and cramping. I'm sure being anxious did NOT help. Neither did googling! When I started spotting a few days before my period, I didn't know if it was implantation bleeding. Finally, my period started (the day it should have). I have more cramping than usual, but I'm so relieved about not being pregnant I don't care. I haven't slept for two weeks! Good luck to all of you out there. Waiting is torture. I wish you all the best!!"

Levonorgestrel for Birth Control "Insertion of Kyleena is extremely painful and honestly inhumane. I learned in other countries, the insertion is completely different. In the U.S., you are not given pain medicine to take before or a cervix softener. During insertion, I screamed in pain and felt like I was going to throw up and pass out. They had me wait about 30 minutes after the insertion to leave. I definitely was not okay to drive home. Ladies, doctors really underestimate the pain with insertion. Do your research and advocate for yourself if you plan to get an IUD. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did."

Levonorgestrel for Emergency Contraception "Sooo... I told myself I would write a review once I got my period, so here I am. My bf and I had unprotected sex on April 16, one day before my ovulation day, April 17... I know, dumb. He said he might’ve cum in me, so for precaution, we decided to take a Plan B. With all the COVID going on, our local Walmart closes at 8 now, so we have to wait until the next morning. We had to settle for the Take Action pill because Plan B was sold out everywhere. So I took the pill and waited. I had anxiety because who wouldn’t? I also had all the side effects: headache, nausea, dizziness, it was horrible. I wasn’t supposed to get my period until May 2, so I was letting time do its thing, and I was being patient. Well, long story short, my period came one day late. It works as long as you take it ASAP, all the side effects suck, but it works. Don’t freak out because I didn’t when I started reading some of the bad reviews."
