For Birth Control "I was reading this before my Liletta insertion, and I was terrified. I just had mine inserted 30 minutes ago, and I'm already at the gym working out. It was a little crampy when they were measuring, but other than that, my experience was nothing like these horror stories. No pain at all, just slight discomfort, nothing more than my normal annual. This is my second IUD, I had Paragard first and now this Liletta, and both experiences were the same. Good luck, ladies."

For Birth Control "In 2021, I had a baby and was so scared to get pregnant again that I got an IUD for the first time ever. I’ve only ever taken the pill with no issues. My pregnancy was horrible, and I had high blood pressure, so my OB wanted me to try the IUD. It’s been 2 years of mood swings, depression, dizziness, cramps, high anxiety, and a 40+ weight gain. No matter how much I work out or eat healthily, I can’t shed the weight. I always feel bloated, and I spot or have a light period two times a month. I’m getting it taken out ASAP, it is horrible, and I’ll never suggest someone get it. Yes, it's great and effective for not getting pregnant, but I’ll take my chances so I can lose weight and feel better."

For Birth Control "I think IUDs are a different experience for every woman because we all have different bodies. For me, Liletta has worked wonderfully! The insertion felt like bad cramping, but not unbearable. I've noticed some women on here are saying that they didn't bleed long after Liletta insertion, which is awesome, but my experience was that I spotted for a few weeks after with some occasional bad cramping, which I didn't feel like it was a big problem for me. A few months later, my periods are consistent, and I only get some slight cramping before periods. I used to have horrible cramps and heavy periods, but now my periods have become lighter and the cramps are not nearly as bad!"

For Birth Control "Got my Liletta IUD in November 2018, definitely take someone with you and plan to do nothing that day. I got it on my period and took a lot of Advil before, but it was super painful for me, but I was fine. My cramping lasted a few months off and on and then finally calmed down. Got married that following December, and now it’s been almost a year and a half since I’ve gotten it and no side effects that I know of! I still have regular periods, but I’m talking super light, like spotting! Overall, not a terrible experience! This is the only birth control I’ve been on, taking it out next month to try to conceive!"

For Birth Control "I've had Liletta for 3 years now. I've had no major complications at all. My mood does have an array of emotions, but that's just how I am. My skin sometimes does break out, yes, but it's never serious. My secret is hair, skin, and nails gummies, loaded with keratin and vitamins E. You can find them at your local dollar store. On my face, chest, and shoulders, but it's never been too serious. I recently went to see my gynecologist, and she told me I was good for another 2 years, maybe longer. I said okay, but I've had spotting recently, which I haven't had since August of 2017, 6 months after insertion. Also, I've had some fatigue recently. I work 2 jobs currently, and I didn't feel like that when I worked 16 hours a day, 6 days a week, during the summer season. I do experience cramping every so often, which again I haven't had since August of 2017. Last but not least, weight gain. I've gained around 10 lbs in the last 4 months, but I work about 40 hours a week now. As to why, I don't know."

For Birth Control "I’ve had my Liletta for a little more than 3 years. During the insertion, I felt a little cramping for a minute, my doctor suggested I take ibuprofen because it could get painful during the day. After 30 minutes, I started to have the worst cramps in my life! I didn’t even ask for the day off ahead because I thought I would be fine, but no, so it was a very rough day. After that, I got my period some days later and I bled for about a month! No cramping, not a lot of blood, but I was concerned and mad. My doctor said it was normal, that I should worry just if I was bleeding like the pad can’t hold the blood. Then I had a second period that lasted for two weeks. After that, it started to get better. I don’t get my periods, just some little spotting for a day once or twice a month, didn’t gain weight (I’ve lost about 15 pounds), no acne, no pregnancy! The annoying side effects that I still have are: my libido went down and I have some random cramps that last less than a minute."

For Birth Control "These reviews were so intense I felt like I needed to add my experience... The insertion experience for me was nothing like I see described here. It took only a matter of minutes from start to finish. It wasn't pain-free, obviously. I'd say 5/6 out of 10. But it lasted seconds. I have given birth one time, and it was not even close to comparable. I was crampy on the drive back to work, but worked the rest of the day with some Motrin and no issues. I had some lower back pain the first few days, on and off, but nothing crazy. I had instant relief from the annoyance of the pill. My skin is clear, and I've had no changes in diet to speak of. Overall, so far, so good."

For Birth Control "I did a lot of research on this before starting it and was VERY nervous. Something I found interesting was most reviews were written after 1 - 3 months of insertion, but the company itself advises a 3 - 6 month adjustment period for your body. So - I committed myself to the full 6 months before reviewing it. Honestly, I agreed after the first 2 months that it was not fun. I had spotting nearly every day and outright bleeding many days. My cramps were better, but not gone. But bleeding all the time was just horrible and not the tradeoff I wanted for reduced cramps. Then around 3 months, my body started to adjust and I noticed the spotting was getting better. Now I'm at 7 months and my cycles have pretty much stopped, I have no cramping, and I have occasional spotting. It is the BEST decision I made. I'm so happy I didn't let the negative reviews dissuade me. You MUST wait the 3 - 6 months for your body to adjust to this - you will be so happy you did!"

For Birth Control "I'm 24, previously taking oral contraceptives for 9 years. I'm giving this 5 because it is effective in the most basic sense. I no longer worry about getting pregnant or taking pills, and my periods are regular and very light. However, I am one year in and planning to get it removed because of the side effects. First, the insertion was incredibly painful for me, followed by excruciating cramps. The first 6 months were radical mood swings, acne, weight gain, and cramping that gradually stabilized. I'm a year in now, though, and I'm finding it hard to work off the weight. I'm still very emotional, my skin is bad (possibly unrelated, but my eczema has come back), low sex drive. I gave it a chance, but I'd rather take pills/use condoms and be happy."

For Birth Control "I was on Liletta for ID2 years, the insertion was extremely painful but bearable. Before the IUD, my periods were always on time and light. After getting on it, my first period was 27 days long, and it was super heavy. I had painful breast tenderness and horrible cramps. After a while, my periods started to be 2 weeks, and it would come almost every 3 weeks. It was horrible. I got BV from being on it, and that was the last straw. The upside from this was that I never got pregnant."

For Birth Control "I got Liletta 10 months ago. I am 22 yrs old, 165 lbs, 6' tall, and very athletic. Insertion hurt, but it was not unbearable for me even without pain meds, and lasted a VERY short amount of time. I was fine during and immediately after, but once I stood up, I got very nauseous and almost passed out. After I laid down for a few minutes, I was fine. I spent the rest of the day with cramps and a headache. The next afternoon, I was fine to return to my job. After that, I lightly bled for about 3 months, with cramps on my period that were so bad at night to the point where I had to take Advil and lay down. I think I was more moody than usual as well. The next few months, my period was light with light cramps and was 3-11 days. Month 10, I don't know if I got my period or not because it was so light. I have not gained or lost any weight and have experienced no sign of body, mood, or sex drive changes. As an athlete, it did not change my performance. I give it a 9 because the string is hard to find."

For Birth Control "I got my Liletta put in July 2016. The insertion was painful, 8/10. The most painful part is when they clamp your uterus, I can still remember that pain now. I never had any pregnancies. I was crampy and had some oozing/spotting the rest of the day. I pretty much napped the whole day after that. The next day everything was fine. The following month I had a very light period. After that, I haven't had a true period since, I mean I get all the symptoms of a period without the blood. My sex drive actually increased with being on it. No weight gain or breakouts. So far it is amazing, and I love it."

For Birth Control "Got Liletta on 10/13/16, and so far, so good. Before it, I couldn't have sex without pain, and now my sex life has never been better. I had cramping the day I got it, but it was gone the next morning. I did also have spotting the day of, and that has gone as well. I will update in a couple of weeks, but so far, so good."

For Birth Control "I’ve had my Liletta in for about 8 months. I’m loving it! It hurt a bit during insertion, and I had cramps for a few weeks after, but it was nothing unbearable. No weight gain, no acne problems... it’s been great overall. The only reason it’s not a 10 is because I still get spotting every few days, which is a bit annoying. Overall, I love it. I’ve tried Depo Provera and birth control pills, which caused my breasts to ache and chronic mood swings. I 100% would recommend Liletta. I got it for free at Planned Parenthood too."

For Birth Control "Insertion hurt for about 5 minutes. I’ve never gotten a cramp in my life, I’m 20, so IUD insertion pain was something I could do if it meant no babies. Immediately after I got it, I felt fatigued, dizzy, and like I was having a period. There was also heavier spotting for the rest of the day. It’s now 3 days later, and there’s a little spotting, it’s so little I’m not even bothered by it. I feel a bit of irritation in my abdominal area, but it’s like period/constipation irritation. It feels like I’m on my period but without the blood. I am really fatigued, though. Hoping it’ll go away in the next 3 months, but overall, it’s not rocking the boat. If these symptoms don’t go away, I wouldn’t be upset to the point of getting it out. Didn’t think I wanted kids, but ever since I got this put in, I’ve been a little worried about the chances of infertility. Still, I’m not mad about my decision. I’ll be back in 3-6 months to review."

For Birth Control "Insertion of Liletta was extremely painful. I’ve not had children, but I’m 28, and this was some of the worst pain I have ever experienced. We decided to get the IUD because I have extreme cramps and cysts. Thinking this would help. Well, two months later, I have cramps every single day. Some days they are lower, some days they are on my right side, some days they are all over. Any amount of exercise sends me into extreme and extended cramping. I have gained 10 pounds, no interest in sex, or doing anything because I’m always in pain. The cramps are seriously unbearable. They went from a couple of times a day to almost all day or anytime I move around a bit. I’m having it removed today. This has been absolutely horrible."

For Birth Control "I had Liletta inserted in Oct. 2016 (25 at the time, no kids). The insertion process was the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced. I had severe cramps as soon as it was inserted and continued to be in extreme pain the rest of the day. My next period was only some spotting, and I have not had one since. I still experience bad cramps (not as bad as insertion day, but still painful) from time to time. I have had no weight gain or acne issues. My libido has absolutely tanked to near zero. I have almost no desire for sex, difficulty getting physically aroused, leading to painful intercourse, a lack of sensation in previously sensitive erogenous zones, and orgasms are lackluster if they happen at all. All in all, a real boyfriend pleaser (sarcasm). I'm planning on getting it out before the end of the month. As far as preventing pregnancy goes 10/10, you just can't beat that hormonal and lack of desire combo."

For Birth Control "I've been on Liletta for 5 years. I was 24 years old, 125 lbs. I'm 5'7. I'm 29 and 160 lbs now. Issues I've personally had are - having the IUD implanted hurt real bad for me. I literally almost fainted, I felt so awful when I left. I got to my car, I balled my eyes out - heavy cramps, bleeding for the next week - bleeding with some cramps for the next 3 months straight (not super heavy, just normal) - extreme nausea at night to the point I feel like I'm going to puke but never do (it's weird). Happened when I first got the implant, has kind of dissipated now I'm at year 5, but not much - bloating, fatigue - cramps got worse for me in the last 2 years, along with my periods coming back to actually bleeding vs. spotting - sex was rough for about 6 months - sexual partners stating they can feel it or it pokes them. It got rid of my sex drive for about 8 months - so far no babies, no close calls. I will close with this: if you can take something else that isn't as invasive or hard on your body as this, I highly suggest it."

For Birth Control "I've had Liletta for about 2 weeks, and I've had a great experience. I didn't take pain meds for the insertion. It hurt, but you can get through it. It only takes like 2 minutes, and then it's over. I had moderate/mild cramping for about 6 hours after. I just went home and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning, I had zero pain. I had mild bleeding for 2 days, but it's hard to tell if that was from the IUD or my normal period. My insurance covered it 100%, and now I don't have to worry about birth control for 3 years! I wanted to share my experience because I feel like a disproportionate amount of people writing reviews had bad experiences. Keep that in mind and don't let the reviews scare you. IUDs are awesome!"

For Birth Control "If you're thinking about Liletta, I wish to share my story since it would have been great to know this when I was evaluating my options. I had Liletta inserted after my postpartum about a year ago. First of all, the insertion is painful and not pleasant at all. I had cramping and bleeding, and it was not fun. However, that went away after about a week, and I must say that I enjoyed this birth control. In June, I saw my OB, and the IUD was doing fine. However, somewhere between June and October, my IUD was nowhere to be found. My OB ordered a CT scan and guess what - the IUD was found outside of my uterus! At this point, I have to have surgery to get it out, and who knows what the side effects will be from that. My point is not to scare anyone out there, but to educate so that you have all the information available. Please note - according to Liletta, perforation is most common in breastfeeding women, which I was."
