For Birth Control "I got the Liletta IUD yesterday, which was the day after my last period ended. Insertion was easy but painful! Took about 10 minutes, I didn't take any medication beforehand. Pain is similar to an early labor contraction. Relaxing your tailbone will help a lot. After insertion, I got up and walked out of the office feeling fine. Tiny cramps, but I think it was only from having my cervix dilated, kind of a residual pain. After making it home an hour later and using the restroom, there was a tiny amount of blood on the TP. Looked kind of like strawberry lemonade XD, again, I think it was from being dilated. Today I feel perfectly normal, no pain, no bleeding, just another day. I hope it lasts."

For Birth Control "I got the Liletta inserted at my 6 weeks after my baby was born (Feb. 2019). The insertion wasn't bad at all, but the cramping and constant bleeding for months afterward was annoying. I have had several bacterial infections causing me to have a very foul smell and needing to take several rounds of antibiotics. I gained a measly 15 lbs during pregnancy, which I lost right away until I had the IUD placed. I've now gained double that back, and it's not even been a full 3 months! I'm a raging person constantly, depressed, and have no sex drive, which is odd for me. I'm also anxious and get super worried about every little thing! I have had terrible pelvic pain, which the doctors chalked up to postpartum healing, but I don't think so! As of yesterday, my lovely Liletta string got wrapped around my tampon, and when removed, it came with it, so I guess I won't have an expensive doctor appointment to have the thing removed!"

For Birth Control "I had my IUD inserted on Jan 21. Almost a month later, I started to bleed as if it were my period. It was very heavy. My periods normally last 5 days and taper off almost completely by day 7. Since February 15, I have been bleeding heavily. Soaking through tampons and pantiliners with no end in sight. It's now March 3, and I'm not sure how much longer I should let this go on before I see my doctor. They told me to expect bleeding, but I'm afraid this isn't exactly what they meant."

For Birth Control "So happy with my Liletta IUD. Yes, the insertion hurt badly; however, the pain (cramping) and bleeding only lasted a day. It has now been 2 months since my insertion. I have a 3-4 day lighter brown/red period every 2 weeks, ish. Sometimes less or more. I also have little to no cramping. I got this IUD because of my horrible, crampy, excruciatingly painful periods, and it is definitely doing the job! And even better, I can have sex safely too."

For Birth Control "Okay, I'll share: so I've had it for 3 months now. Insertion was extremely painful for me, and after that, the pain lasted for 8 hours or so. (That was the worst part.) But worth it, I suppose. I chose Liletta because I was told it was most similar to Skyla, which is what I had before with no problems. After insertion, that period I bled for 2 weeks, heavy as anything. Then the next 2 were pretty average. About 7 days moderate/light. This cycle, I skipped it altogether, although I still had period symptoms (PMS, cramps, cravings). It freaked me out a bit thinking I might be preggers or something, but not really possible, especially because I've had 2 periods since I last had sex, so I'd probably be in the hospital in surgery. Then I remembered I didn't get periods with Skyla either. So, if anyone's worried as to why Ms. Flow stopped, it's normal for women to have irregular periods as well as for it to just stop altogether."

For Birth Control "I got Liletta inserted in August 2016, a lot of discomfort at first. Then I bled for 3 weeks afterwards, thinking about getting it removed due to periods 2 to 3 times a month or when having intercourse. I start bleeding. My periods are more crampy and make me sick to my stomach, plus I've been having a bloody discharge every day. I got it checked and the doctor said it was from the Liletta. Just checking out other options beforehand."

For Birth Control "When I decided to get the Liletta, it was because I didn't want to have to constantly take a pill every day, then my mother would find out. Also, I wanted to finish school without pregnancy scares. My cramps are usually very heavy and painful. So when they put the Liletta in, the cramps were mild and nothing compared to my regular ones. Of course, for other females, it might be a tremendous amount of pain for them or just mild. It was a little uncomfortable, but after the pain was done, I sat up and started to already bleed. I felt completely fine and only had light cramping, which I barely felt. I will say that I have bled every day since the procedure. It has been about 6 days since then. I don't know how long I will spot."

For Birth Control "I got my Liletta on May 28th, 2017. I have never been pregnant or had sex before, so insertion was uncomfortable and painful. The pinch on the cervix hurt, but the foreign object holding open my vaginal opening hurt more for me. Post-insertion, pain subsided after about 45 minutes, and I felt fine. I was mid-menstrual cycle when I got mine inserted. Days following, cramps began to develop every day and light bleeding followed. I lost my appetite and felt sleepy all the time. Light bleeding (only had to use light tampons) was consistent, and cramps got worse and occurred every day. (Cramps are the worst part by far.) At about 2.5 weeks after insertion, I began to feel some mood swings and had an acne breakout. Symptoms still occurring 5 weeks out."

For Birth Control "I chose Liletta because I wanted something that I wouldn't have to worry about for a long time and don't trust myself to take the pill at the same time every day. The insertion was painful but was very quick, and the cramping subsided with ibuprofen. I have now been on it for about a year and a half and had some issues. When I got it in initially, I bled for about 3 months straight and sometimes still experience random prolonged spotting. I also went to the ER with severe pain in my uterus and had tests done to find absolutely nothing wrong. I have had testing done since then to make sure, and still everything looks fine. Other than that, it has been pretty good, but I don't feel that it is worth all the worry it has caused me and will be switching."

For Birth Control "I've had the IUD for about 5 months. For the first month, I bled constantly with heavy clots, terrible cramps, and tender breasts. Things started to improve around the second month with only light bleeding, and now I have random spotting or a period that lasts a few days. I initially had acne, but read about black African soap, which (in conjunction with tea tree oil after showering) has eliminated it. I have PCOS and already had hair growth on my chin. It's a lot worse with the IUD in place, and I'm going to electrolysis to eliminate it. That is my biggest complaint. No weight gain (but I did experience bloating). And I've ALWAYS gained on BC w/estrogen. Once my husband felt it, but my doc snipped the strings, and it's not been a problem since."

For Birth Control "I got Liletta inserted in June 2016, and I've had it for about a year with no problems. The process was quick, with minor dizziness and cramping right after, but a little relaxation and ibuprofen handled that. I did experience a lot of bleeding for about three weeks after, but from what I understand, that is fairly normal. I still get periods, but they are somewhat lighter than they used to be and don't last as long. I did notice a change in my cervical mucus, but it's been great in helping me prevent pregnancy, especially when having unprotected sex. I recommend this birth control to anyone who cannot keep up with the pill or may forget."

For Birth Control "After reading all of these helpful reviews, I thought to myself... why not add my input in order to help other ladies that might also be struggling with the never-ending journey of finding the right birth control, because my God, is it frustrating. I got the Liletta IUD inserted in May 2016, so it's been in for nearly 7 months. The insertion hurt a lot, and I was in a fair amount of pain afterward (could hardly drive myself home). I bled for a month or two, and after that, it was like a dream. No periods. Perfect skin. No weight gain. I kept having to remind myself that I was protected and didn't have to worry. Then, about 3 months later, I started experiencing incredibly bad acne all over my face. Still experiencing it. Getting it out ASAP."

For Birth Control "I got my first IUD put in December of 2016. My GYN told me to take some Tylenol beforehand, which really helped, I think. I have never given birth. The insertion felt like an ice pick kind of behind my belly button, but that only lasted for about 2 seconds. The whole process was over in about 5 minutes, and I just had some minor cramping for the rest of the night. I had been on Depo-Provera for 3 years and then off BC entirely for a year, and during the entire 4-year span, I did not have a period. Since getting it inserted, I have had no side effects. I lost about 15 lbs, my mood has improved, and I still have not had a period. Today, 8/1/17, I did start bleeding though, which is strange, but I'm sure that it is fine. I love my IUD though."

For Birth Control "Ok, so I'm just tossing my 2 cents in. I had my Liletta inserted 7 days ago. I'll start with my best friend's good luck text as I walked into the exam room, 'enjoy those 2 little contractions once it's in.' (She is the only person I know who has had an IUD). On a scale of 1-10, this was a solid praying for my own death 15! (I have broken bones that have hurt less, not to mention 8 tats and a body piercing). I screamed out loud! And almost passed out twice, once on the table and once on my way to the car. The cramping died down at day 5, it's random now. The bleeding is down to spotting. But the bloating is insane. I almost look pregnant. (5'10, 175 lbs before insertion, I have not stepped on a scale since.) I fear it will not go away."

For Birth Control "So I just had my daughter 1-25-17, and I got this 6 weeks after having her. Mind you, I was still having some bleeding after having my daughter. I had 2 weeks after having her, then I had my period, then I had spotting, and now after having this put in 3-17-17. I have NOT stopped bleeding. It is now going on a full month of constant annoyance, and every time you think it finally stops, it comes back heavy. I hate this. It is an annoying piece of plastic."

For Birth Control "I've had my Liletta for almost 3 months now, and everything is great. The insertion process isn't pleasant, but it was pretty quick. I'd say a 4 or 5 on a scale from 1 to 10, but just for a minute. I had a lot of cramping afterward for several days, and I felt light-headed after the procedure (eat something before, take 800 mg of ibuprofen, and stay hydrated!). I have had some irregular bleeding, but it's been light and infrequent. Definitely manageable. I love having birth control that I don't have to think about! The only negative side effect that I've noticed is that my skin is more oily than before when I was on the pill."

For Birth Control "I went on the Liletta July 17th, 17. I was told I needed to be on my period when I got on it, and I did. Insertion was absolutely painful, and I could barely walk after. I got medication to help open up my cervix, and I completely forgot all about taking it, but they told me it would be okay anyway. I took 600 mg of meds. My doctor also numbed me. I'm 23 and have had one child vaginally. I went to work the next day, and the pain was so bad I almost passed out. The rest of the week was completely unbearable. I was kneeling over in pain with horrible cramps. Week 2 was okay, occasional cramping here and there. This is week three. I started spotting on the seventh, and on the 8th I was still spotting. On the 9th, I was full-blown bleeding a week early."

For Birth Control "First off, had it for a year and had severe bleeding every month for at least 3 weeks a month, never stopped. Got horrible acne I still cannot get rid of. Had multiple ovarian cysts burst (which has never happened to me before). Zero sex drive, depression. My ob-gyn tried to tell me the hormone was so low none of my symptoms could be related to the drug, which is ridiculous. On a NuvaRing now, so far, okay."

For Birth Control "Got Liletta in March 2019. I bled 3 months straight, then had no period to speak of after. I had constant infections, which I never had before, and I had zero personality left. I felt like an empty vessel with zero sex drive left. I finally decided it had to go after months of suffering because I started having really sharp pains. My IUD had migrated, but luckily it didn’t go anywhere, it was difficult to get out. I already feel better. Never again. Not getting my period or pregnant were the only positives."

For Birth Control "So I've had Liletta for almost 2 weeks now. My experience with insertion was great! I had no pain during the procedure. My boyfriend says he can feel the string, so I believe my OB left it a little long. I have an appointment soon, so I will let her know. I rated Liletta as a 5 because I don't quite know if it works yet. My boyfriend came in me 2 times already. So I'm just waiting to see results. Other than that, I forget the IUD is there, I don't feel it at all. But I have broken out on my chin. I am also still bleeding since the day of insertion."

For Birth Control "Insertion wasn't as bad as other people say, and my skin cleared up. I did bleed for a month, which is normal for birth control at the beginning. The bad thing was that after 3 years, I got an ovarian cyst! It was very painful, so it caused me to have pain during intercourse, and I finally got it removed after 3 years. I hope I lose weight since I am reading that everyone gained weight lol."

For Birth Control "I had Liletta inserted almost 10 months ago, and I’m still bleeding/spotting every day - which is ironic because I got Liletta to help me with heavy periods. I did not experience weight gain, however, I can’t seem to lose weight either (I am 39 years old, 5’1.5, 130 lbs). I went to have it removed, and my OB couldn’t find the string. It’s been a nightmare for me."

For Birth Control "I had the procedure done about 5 hours ago. I usually have a high pain tolerance, but it was probably the worst pain I've felt in my life, and definitely the most uncomfortable feeling. I did not take any pain medication beforehand, which I drastically regret. I've been lightly bleeding since the procedure and have had severe cramps. I'm hoping all of this is worth it. Advice for anyone switching to Liletta: take lots of Tylenol beforehand, and take the next day off!!!"

For Birth Control "I got my IUD inserted 3 weeks ago. The procedure was crampy, though I did take 600 mg of ibuprofen beforehand, so it was bearable as long as I remembered to breathe through it. It took about 10 minutes. There were some residual cramps, first light, then really bad on the drive home. Since then, I have been spotting/lightly bleeding. For several days last week, it was heavier, so I assume it was my period? Previously, I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen pills, and they told me to finish up the pack I was on, so I did, and that's when the heavier bleeding started. Now I am back to lighter bleeding/spotting, but I hope it stops soon. Normally, my periods are 3 days max, so I'm not used to this and frankly tired of it!"

For Birth Control "I got the Liletta inserted on October 3rd. I was expecting the insertion to be excruciating after reading tons of reviews, but it wasn't bad at all. It was definitely uncomfortable, but it was just mostly cramps, and I have a very low tolerance for pain. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the insertion pain a 3. I did take 800 mg of ibuprofen and a muscle relaxer an hour before my appt. I've had pretty intense cramps off and on every day. My doctor prescribed tramadol, which I just started today. I take ibuprofen, and that helps a lot, as long as I take it before the pain is really bad. I bled every day, but it stopped 3 days ago. It was regular bleeding and then brown discharge, which is annoying. Overall, I think it will help me in the long run."
