For Seizures "Our 11-year-old takes this medicine for unknown seizures that occur several years apart. She seems to be very tired and irritable. She's moody to the point of insulting and disrespectful for no apparent reason. These things did not occur until she started taking the Keppra."

For Seizures "Had auras starting in 2012, (female age 50). Had 1st grand mal in 2015. Diagnosed with a large benign meningioma that caused permanent scar tissue on the brain stem. Surgical removal of the tumor and was put on Dilantin. Super tired, never hungry, and lost 20 lbs (only bonus)! Liver enzymes WAY HIGH! Went to Topamax, always hungry, tired, and liver tests horrible. Switched to Keppra and have been on it for 9 years and liver tests are normal. 500 mg 2x a day. Super chill, normal appetite, and more relaxed than before. If you have to take something for seizures - so far this is by FAR the best!"

For Seizures "The worst experience of my life. Never go on this drug even if it works the best. I lost 20 pounds and still losing weight. I can never eat, sleep, or feel relaxed. My anxiety got worse and worse. I’ve never been this depressed in my life. I’m always tired and angry. Even when I get enough sleep, it never works. I’ve also never had angry outbursts before. I’ve had full-on mental breakdowns I haven’t ever had before. Please never go on this drug."

Levetiracetam for Seizures "I started having seizures when I was 35. I’m now 72. I took Depakote for 35 years and was mostly successful in avoiding seizures, although I did have periodic breakthrough events without warning. About two years ago, I noticed I was getting frequent mouth infections. At this point, the neurologist weaned me off of Depakote over a six-week period and at the same time gradually increased the Keppra to 1500 mg per day. For the first three weeks on Keppra, I was tired and irritable, but that soon subsided. I took a precautionary EEG as well. So far, no seizures and no mouth infections."
