For Type 2 Diabetes "I began taking Lantus about 6 months ago because the Metformin and Actos were no longer helping my glucose levels. About 6 weeks ago, I began taking Basaglar because my insurance will no longer cover Lantus. At the same time I began Basaglar, my muscles and joints began hurting severely, and I wasn't able to do much other than exist. My doc sent me to physical therapy. No relief. I read somewhere that Basaglar can cause muscular and joint pain, so I decided to stop taking it temporarily. 48 hours later, I am pain-free."

For Diabetes, Type 1 "I'm a foster mom to a 4-year-old with Type 1 diabetes. This pen is horrible!! Since he has OHP, the insurance switched from Lantus to this POS because of cost. Every night it's a fight to get the correct amount to come out, and we don't even know if he is getting the correct dosage because of how the pen is. The pens need to be fixed, we can't keep guessing if he is getting the correct dosage. And to make things worse, it hurts him even more because of how hard it is to push the button. His numbers have been all over the place because this med doesn't work as well as Lantus."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was put on Toujeo SoloStar back in early December and ended up using 90 units to gain glucose control. My downsides were stiff joints and breathlessness, which worsened with time and became a terrible pain in the top of my right lung 5 months on. I stopped the insulin, and the pain was reduced within 24 hours and cleared within 72 hours. When I resumed taking the insulin, I had awful pain back again within two hours, so I stopped again and now a slow recovery over the next 72 hours. This should be removed from prescribing as it is an awful drug and really made me ill."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been using this for a month now, and it seems to be helping with the blood sugars. However, I find the pen hard to use. I have small hands, and the pen is too wide for me to grip easily, and the plunger is even harder to push down to inject. I hate needles, so this is an ideal way for me, but something slimmer and easier to push would help. At 56 units now, it's virtually impossible to avoid pain with the injection."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Insulin works fine, just have trouble with the pen. Always pain and pen jammed twice. Needle tip bends due to unwanted pressure, need to put on the injecting switch. Novolog pen is easy to use. Already reported this problem to the company in July 2017 and returned the defective pen to the company. It happened again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Using Basaglar for about a month now and getting good results. Levels are in normal range at 12 units, but I have side effects of ringing in my ears all day, but worse at night after injection. Also, a dull headache and some shoulder pain that's not too bad yet. As dosage increased, ringing gets louder. However, it does work for me, and my insurance only covers this brand. Since I have only been on it a short time, I will have to wait and see if side effects get better or worse."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After reading many of the reviews about this insulin and experiencing some of the same side effects, I have come to learn Basaglar KwikPen is not the insulin I need. Blood sugar remains high, and my feet and ankles are swelling up. Ankle pain is getting intense at times."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been taking Lantus for just over a month. Has anyone else suffered from mouth and throat sores? Feels like a pill caught in your throat and cold sores inside your lip and on the side of your tongue. Very painful when you're trying to eat. Hopefully, I can see the doctor that prescribed this tomorrow, as I am unable to eat for 3 days now."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Insulin works fine, just have trouble with pen. Always pain and pen jammed once. I use another brand of pen with no problems. Went over how to use video. I thought I was doing something wrong. But was not. Don't know why I get pain from this."
