Infliximab "Diagnosed 14 years ago, moderate to severe, 3 surgeries, 1 ostomy & reconnect. Since being switched to Inflectra from Remicade a year ago, health and quality of life have plummeted, I've almost literally moved into my bathroom, social life diminished, etc. I have to walk around as if my intestines are made of glass. All so the insurance company could save $200."

"I've had CD for 15 years, with most of that being uneventful. However, the last three years have been rough, with the last six months even worse. Having tried and not got on with Azathioprine and Mercaptopurine, I was forced down the road of anti-TNF treatment by infusion. Of course, in the UK, unless you have private healthcare, the NHS will always try the cheaper options first, but the side effects were too severe for me to continue. Within 2 days of having the infliximab, my symptoms improved. Now, as I'm just about to have my third infusion, my symptoms have improved to the point that I've almost forgotten about my Crohn's. I genuinely thought this was a make-or-break medicine, and I'm so happy with the result."

Infliximab "I started with Remicade/Inflectra in 2019 when my Crohn's disease became super activated in graduate school. Both of those helped. I was switched by my provider to Renflexis this past September due to cost, and my last two infusions were with Renflexis. I have noticed an improvement over Inflectra. Bowel movement frequency has decreased, and the looseness of stools has improved - and I have a very short gut due to two bowel excisions and resections. I'm pretty excited about this improvement. I was worried initially and reassured that it is biosimilar. It may be, but whatever difference Renflexis has, it's working better for me!"

Infliximab "I was severe with Crohn's bleeding uncontrollable colon like tissue paper unable to do surgery. Due to health issues, I started on Inflector and have never felt better. I have been on it now for two years with minor Crohn's flare-ups; very low side effects tired aching and very fatigue after the infusion but within five days I feel better than normal."

"After an infrequent 5-yearly flare-up of Crohn's, I was given infliximab intravenously for several weeks. Apparently unconnected, I experienced increasing shortness of breath, which got worse and was put down to possible heart problems. Investigations were extremely slow, and I just got worse. Following almost collapsing in the street, I was taken to the hospital, and my blood oxygen levels were at 75, which is, I believe, extremely low, and my heart was on the point of collapse. Following days of being on oxygen and then a lung 'washout' under general anaesthetic and more oxygen in the intensive care department, I made a rapid recovery. Apparently, I was lucky?? I was eventually told I had suffered 'acute lung damage,' i.e., the cells that absorb oxygen, most likely from the infliximab."

Infliximab "Remicade was pretty good to me. It took me from a dangerously low BMI, constant 10/10 abdominal pain, and diarrhea to a normal life. I got back up to a healthy weight, had no pain within a day of the first infusion, and had normal bowel movements for the first time in years. It saved my life. Remicade would make me somewhat fatigued the day after getting it for the first 3-ish months but after that, I didn't really experience any side effects. I was getting a dose once a month. Having to go into the hospital once a month for a 2-3 hour long infusion was not convenient but I often didn't mind because it would be a quiet few hours to relax. After taking it for about 2 years I got a demyelinating polyneuropathy syndrome (CIDP) which I was told *might* have been an extremely rare side effect from the Remicade, me being 1 of about 5 people to ever get it. The many neurologists I saw were never able to pin down what caused it for certain so I still consider this med to have been a net positive to me."

"I was initially skeptical of Remicade infusions, but the other biologics had stopped working for me. Developed antibodies to Humira, Enbrel, etc. It’s not helping the AS or Crohn's much anymore and never showed the efficacy of the others. Too many random side effects: neuralgia, PVCs, headaches, general ickiness. It works, but not well. At least for me."

Infliximab "Used Remicade for 4 years for fistulizing Crohn's disease. It only somewhat helped for one of the 4 years by reducing my abscesses, but it did not heal my fistulas at all. I did get psoriasis and terrible arthritis, which I believe were drug-induced side effects, and I will likely have these on top of my Crohn's for the rest of my life."

"This worked great for about a year. It was like I never had Crohn's. Then testing showed low levels and antibodies to the medication. So they took me off it though I was still doing well and started me on Skyrizi. I am very apprehensive about the possible side effects. Had one dose of Skyrizzi so far."

"I've been on this drug since I was 13 and got told I'd be off it by 16, now I'm turning 17, and still no end in sight. It helps me massively, I don't have any symptoms unless it gets close to the infusion date (1 week prior). Even though it helps my Crohn's, it makes me get sick quickly in many other ways (cold, influenza, gastrointestinal infection). I hope to get off it one day because the doctors have a hard time finding veins big enough that aren't too scared of injections."

Infliximab "I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease back in 2019. I was started on Remicade, and it worked for at... two months? Then hell broke loose, third month getting it, I had horrible back pains when the infusion started. This went on for months until I finally went through anaphylaxis shock. I definitely almost lost my life that day; unfortunately, the damage had been done and I had to get a part of my colon removed. I beg you, push the nurses and the doctors to listen to you if you get sudden symptoms."

Infliximab "I was on Remicade for nearly 5 years. It was working great for me up until last October when I started developing sinus infections. I am in remission, but yet I still can't work - my life isn't normal anymore, time to switch it up."
