For Anxiety "Used mainly for anxiety, then allergies. Using 2 months, started 1 tab 10 mg daily. At first, it seemed okay, but then, a few weeks in, I noticed blood sugar coming down. I began 2 tabs a day, and my head felt spacey, and I began to lose my voice. I felt like I was losing my balance and felt weak. Went back to one tab daily, but my voice is not back, it's been a week. Have high blood pressure and diabetes, and I can tell I'm getting a bad reaction. Now my insomnia is back. I'll stop it completely because it's not helping me. The doctor originally prescribed 10 mg 3 times daily. I'd be passed out on the floor if I took that much. Very bad for me."

For Sedation "Dose - 1 tablet nightly, 50 mg. Yes - nightmares, vivid, detailed, filled with anxiety and emotion - like real life. Yes - heavy chest next day, and I’ve never smoked or even had bronchitis - never asthma or any breathing issues. Yes - groggy next day, mid-day hits me like a freight train. Without it - restless leg, insomnia. With it - not so restless, better sleep but not great. I have to trade off and on or else I’m too groggy. But sleeplessness amounts to tired also - but I don’t really dislike this drug. Valium is better, really stops restless leg and sleep better 5 mg. But they won’t prescribe it. Never ever have I taken anything until now - had Valium 10 days after asking doctor for help with insomnia and legs - then switched to hydroxyzine. If it’s the best they can do then I guess it’s ok."

For Anxiety "Hydroxyzine was the first medication I was put on for anxiety. It was a 25 mg pill that I took 3 times a day. It didn't do a lot for my anxiety at all, it only made me really tired. I would sleep all day and all night. It obviously did help with my insomnia, however, I needed a medication that would calm me down and keep me awake. I was only on this medication for about a week until it broke me out in hives."

For Sedation "I’ve taken this medication off and on for years as a sleep aid. Took it for a few years, then stopped for a few years, and then back again. Now, it just stopped working for me, and I am stopping the med. I am tapering it off and feel mild withdrawal symptoms and insomnia. I fall asleep fine but can’t stay asleep. But it helped me sleep just fine for many years."

For Anxiety "This med was given to me for itching caused by anxiety. I've been on this drug for 2 months. I am happy this works for some folks, but still itch, am anxious, and am unable to sleep. 25 mg 3 x day for me with no results."
