For Hepatitis C "Eight-week course of Mavyret. Side effects weren’t too bad during treatment, but immediately after the course of meds was finished, I was suddenly slammed with severe joint and muscle pain, along with extreme fatigue. Five months out, I am barely able to function. I went from swimming a mile 3-4 days a week to barely being able to swim 1/4 mile once a week. I also did yoga 3-5 days a week for 90 minutes, now, 30 minutes every day IF I’m lucky and have low enough pain, and fatigue doesn’t have me glued in place. This is a BAD drug. I don’t care if it cures every single thing that ails you, it will leave you so debilitated you’ll barely be able to function. I’m keeping my eye out for a class action suit."

For Hepatitis C "So my PCP and then GI doc both assured me side effects with Mavyret are negligible. Nothing could be further from the truth; and they seem to be cumulative. Not much for the first week, then nausea to the point where I couldn’t eat. Next came the headaches, which were bad enough, but then came the fatigue/bone tired/flu-like feeling, including brain fog. I am almost six weeks into treatment, and the pattern seems to be I can “function” one day, followed by a day when I can only get out of bed to get to the bathroom. I didn’t research side effects of this drug because even though I am a pretty stalwart person who doesn’t give in to illness without a fight, I also didn’t want to be suggestible. Multiple calls to my docs have been futile. I have been told multiple times to “suck it up” and finish treatment."

For Hepatitis C "I'm on Day 4 of an 8-week course. I'm so very grateful to have this opportunity. So far, I've experienced brain fog. No nausea, a few times, I've had heartburn, but that could be from ibuprofen I've taken for the headaches. Yesterday in the evening, I crashed. I woke today feeling like I have the flu, but I don't even care, I just want this monkey off my back! I'm genotype 1a, level 2 scarring. I contracted the virus 10 years ago from needle sharing. I was an addict for 18 years, clean for 7 now. I hope I start feeling better soon, but even if I don't, I'm getting rid of this insidious disease. It's worth every ache. I have a strong constitution, so I'll push through. Good luck, everyone, I hope you all find healing!!"

For Hepatitis C "Took for 8 weeks every day, yet it had no effect, and the doctor can't explain why. I am now in the process of being prescribed Vosevi, which I hope will work. It was very frustrating after waiting 90 days after treatment with Mavyret to be tested and find out it had no effect."

For Hepatitis C "Week 7, serious insomnia basically every night, except 4 or 5 nights; have felt 'a bit better' then the next day back to a lead-heavy body, headachy & feeling distressed. The treatment has more side effects than I expected. Thank you everyone for posting; reading other people's experiences has helped get me through. I won't know until 4 weeks after if it has worked, I am just hoping it does, meanwhile just hanging in there..."

For Hepatitis C "I’m 6 1/2 weeks into treatment. Found out I’m Geno 1. Week 5 was a rough one. 3-4 of the days were like I was not getting better. Super fatigue in bed 11 to 14 hours. Sore knee and ankle joints. Hep C symptoms. But the symptoms have pretty much subsided in week 6. My energy level is still about 50% in my opinion. Also, I need to mention my job is outside and physical. I’m drenched in sweat daily. So I am pretty good on diet for more energy. Still a little concerned about my energy level, with only 10 days left. Will post again after treatment."

For Hepatitis C "I found I had Hep C approximately 20 years ago after being exposed to blood at the Lipid Research Center. There were the old treatments at the time, but I chose to just use milk thistle until recently. I am 65 years old and was very fearful at first, but the changes I was going through told me to do it. I was recommended Mavyret. The first 2 weeks I had some pretty bad headaches and was very tired. The headaches subsided, some nauseousness, and I was very tired. Some light sensitivity to my eyes, but mind you, none of my symptoms made me want to quit. At the 5th week, Hep C was not detectable. I finished all my medicine yesterday. I feel so much better. Even though I am 65 years old, I feel like I have a new life. Thanks for reading."

For Hepatitis C "Just finished 2 weeks with no real side effects. Slight indigestion a few times. Don't know about anyone else, but hep C was kicking my ass with depression and fatigue. My fatigue was so bad, I was in bed 20 hours a day, 3 to 4 days a week. After the 5th dose, I was able to wake up not being tired for the first time this year. The depression has subsided about 75%. My energy level keeps going up almost every day. I would say I am about 35% on my energy level. Also, I am getting into deep sleep a lot more."

For Hepatitis C "My final post, and thankful this journey has ended well. I was genotype 3, and viral load was over 9 million. Started Mavyret on September 25, 2018. Side effects were tolerable and short-term: headache, weight gain, and thirst. Nothing you cannot handle! Completed 8-week treatment on November 20, 2018, and final blood work done on Feb. 18, 2019. Results: UNDETECTED! CURED! I am so thankful for this new start on life! Thank you!!!"

For Hepatitis C "I'm a 62-year-old male. Was diagnosed with HEP C in April. Luckily, my insurance and the $5 co-pay has got me no out-of-pocket expense. I will take my dose today at 5:30 with food. This will make 5 full weeks, 3 more weeks to go. I must have had this for years and years. I knew something was wrong, thank goodness I found the right doctor! Like others, I have had some fatigue and nausea, but I'm SO GRATEFUL for the makers of this drug. Hang in there, everyone, I'm feeling so good and super optimistic about the future!!!"

For Hepatitis C "Just got my 8-week labs back. Undetected. I’m thrilled. I’m done with treatment. Will report again three months post-treatment. As I have stated before in previous posts, the only significant side effect I had was being very tired at times. I am two weeks post-treatment, and I am back to normal. Energy levels are great. Good luck, everyone."

For Hepatitis C "Just started week 6 yesterday of an 8-week treatment plan. The first two weeks were pretty smooth. Mild nausea and a little fatigue and dizziness. After my second week, my urine turned real dark, almost the color of root beer, but after I flush myself out with water, everything went back to normal with that. I have lost a lot of energy and feel a little lightheaded, so I don't drive as much as I used to. The good news is I've done blood work at 4 weeks and the virus was undetected. Looking forward to getting these next two weeks behind me. The only tips that I have for anyone under this treatment are to stay extra hydrated and eat a healthy diet. Good luck to all."

For Hepatitis C "My husband and I have had hep C for around 11 years. We are both healthy, we do not take any medications and are moderately active. We are starting week 4 on Mavyret. We did some research before starting and decided to take the pills at night with supper, best idea ever. It does make you feel tired when first taken. We have had no side effects. We drink plenty of water and eat healthy, as we were told to by our doctor. We are confident the next 5 weeks will be the same. Thank you, Mavyret, and good luck to everyone!"

For Hepatitis C "Going into my 4th week on this medication, and my entire body and muscles are extremely sore and achey, I can barely walk. It seems to just keep getting worse and worse. It is making me not want to even take the medication anymore. But I know it will be worth it. Just hoping this eases up soon, and I will feel better."

For Hepatitis C "Started Mavyret exactly a month ago, and I didn’t see any side effects for the first three weeks, but now I feel like I have the flu. Initially, I assumed it was the flu, but after reading a lot of these posts, I’m convinced it’s the meds. Side effects include chronic headache, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, fatigue, sweating, and my mental health is worse than usual, also chest pains. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have this disease cured. I also believe I will be able to make it to the end result no problem, but it’s nice to know these side effects aren’t super rare, thanks to everyone who posted their experiences."

For Hepatitis C "So I was diagnosed with hep C in 2013 and started treatment (Mavyret) at the beginning of May 2019, my last dose was Tuesday. The overall experience was great. I had very mild side effects (headaches, fatigue, and occasional bellyache) the first couple of weeks. I felt amazing! I had so much energy and felt normal again. It was great. I had a few bad days throughout the 8 weeks of treatment, but overall it helped me so much! I now feel good again, I don’t want to stay in bed all day, and I'm actually getting my appetite back! Since ending my treatment, I’m still having headaches and have felt a little weird the last day or two. Does anyone know how long the side effects will last after you finish treatment? Are there any withdrawal symptoms? I didn’t think to ask my doctor and am kind of curious. I’m so glad I found this site! It’s awesome to see other people on the same journey as me! Good luck to everyone!"

For Hepatitis C "I've had hep C for 26 years. Last ten, I always felt tired, like I had the flu. I've been on this treatment for four weeks. I already feel like a new person. A lot of energy. Had no bad side effects. Have to do the 12-week treatment. I take three pills every morning. Feeling so thankful."

For Hepatitis C "First off, thanks to all for sharing their experience and side effects with others. Mavyret does not tell you the side effects, and doctors don't know, so this is where you see the real story. I'll list my side effects so others can see: Headache-very mild, not an issue, Nausea-not often, but sometimes, Diarrhea-none, Fatigue and weakness-a very strong feeling of being pulled down like I'm carrying a 5-gallon bucket of water in each hand, Dizziness-constant dizziness, feeling spaced out some, Heartburn and acid reflux-heartburn after every dose. Not really feeling flu-like, but feeling like I just got over the flu. All in all, I feel like garbage, but I'll handle that until it's cured."

For Hepatitis C "This medication cured the Hep C, but left me in debilitating joint pain. I wish I never took the treatment. I have been in good health, fit and energetic, and had normal liver function, with a high viral load. I waited 16 years and took the drug because of its claim of minimal side effects. I walk with a cane and limp if I don't have my cane. I would wait until it is improved. It's been 3 months since completing the treatment. I am still HCV not detected, but my life as I knew it seems to be over. Buyer be warned."

For Hepatitis C "I am from Australia. I only found out 2 months ago that I have Hep C, the Egypt strain, which doesn't affect the liver until you reach your mid-60s. Then you get very sick. I had symptoms of an STD and went in for a blood test. The test showed I also had Hep C for decades. Wow, was I shocked. To cut a long story short, this is my third day of taking Mavyret. The first two hours of taking the three tabs, I felt nothing. Two hours later, I was so cold, and it was a hot day. I had to put on the heater plus a jumper. This lasted 6 hours. After that, no other side effect except for feeling like I have taken a sleeping tablet-a sluggish feeling, but tolerable-and some nice dreams. I sleep really well, so no other effects so far. I would like to thank the scientists who came up with this little miracle that is saving lives. Take my hat off to you guys, cheers so much."

For Hepatitis C "Well, fabulous! Blood work done and hep C gone after being on Mavyret! I go back in 3 months for a follow-up. Miracles are alive and well! And, yes on the mental fog, I am still experiencing it. Like everything is sort of surreal. I feel you. Must say, this is a very strange feeling journey. Can't explain exactly what I mean, but very profound! God bless you all, and I am praying for all of you! I love you..."

"I've been taking Mavyret for 5 days. I have a slight headache sometimes, and I feel quite tired, but apart from that, I'm fine so far. Cool to read others' experiences with this. Seems my symptoms are fairly normal. Gonna be weird being well after 40 years, but I'm ready!!❤️❤️✌️✌️"

For Hepatitis C "I'm 36 years old and I have had Hep C since high school due to a dirty tattoo needle. I started taking the medication 5 weeks ago, and today my labs came back Hep C undetectable. I'm a professional bodybuilder and can honestly say I have not missed a day at the gym due to side effects. The first week is the hardest because of the fatigue, but as the weeks went on, the side effects got less and less. Week five, and I have no side effects at all, I feel great, and I'm Hep C free. If you are worried about taking the medication because of side effects, DON'T BE. I am forever grateful, and thank you to the makers for providing a nurse to answer all my questions and counsel me through the process. It's like having another shot at life."

For Hepatitis C "This med definitely has its ups and downs. Make sure you take it with food right before bed! It will create BAD insomnia otherwise. My main symptoms were being restless, sore, nauseous, headaches, clammy, and occasional diarrhea. I was so exhausted the whole treatment. I did get a cold for about a week during it as well. I also went to the chiropractor during this treatment to help with back and body pains. I also saw a counselor during this process as well. You have to keep up with the little things that keep you sane during this process because you’ll feel depressed and miserable. Just do what you can and don’t worry about perfection right now. It’s for a short time, and soon you’ll be able to say you’re hep free like me!"

For Hepatitis C "Three weeks into treatment, and I'm feeling great! Absolutely no side effects except the first couple of nights I had a little anxiety when I was going to sleep. But life has thrown me a lot of curveballs lately, so maybe it was just my anxiety from my life. But I'm taking my three pills every day at noon with lunch and drinking lots of water as prescribed. And I'm feeling just fantastic. In just a week, I'll be getting my first blood test. And I will update you. Just want to say, don't be afraid to start this medication. I work 70 hours a week, and I haven't missed a day. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. A real lifesaver, I hope."
