For Hepatitis C "I am 4 1/2 weeks into treatment out of 8 weeks. Week 4, I notice my cognitive thinking is improving. And my depression and anxiety is a 2 out of 10 today. Before treatment, it was a constant 5-8. Still have hep C effects. Like fatigue, soreness in my knees and ankles is still there. But less. My energy level is almost 50%, and soreness in my joints is subsiding. Plus, I have very few side effects from the treatment, which are minimal, not even worth mentioning."

For Hepatitis C "Day 5 for me. Feeling a bit fatigued, but nothing that a short nap won't fix. No other symptoms. I'm a 77-year-old woman with type #3. Have probably had Hep C for over 30 years. Just became stage 2. Going to do treatment for 8 weeks. Best advice is: lots of water and a good-sized meal before taking the drug. I'm also walking and stretching and painting and cooking really good food. Good luck to all. I'm so grateful to be able to get this treatment. Will check in in a few weeks with my progress."

For Hepatitis C "I was diagnosed in 2012, was advised not to seek treatment as new meds were coming out. Took me until now, 2019, to put enough clean time together to be approved for meds. I’m on my last two days of an eight-week treatment. Blood work done four days ago shows I have cleared the Hep C!! Have experienced extreme fatigue and light headaches. First week felt flu-ish. Wondering how long after stopping did other people notice their fatigue end? My doc swears that it’s immediate and that I will also see how tired the Hep C was making me prior to treatment. So grateful for this medication; also grateful it was covered by insurance."

For Hepatitis C "After 8 weeks of Mavyret, I was cured. No sides to speak of. However, the day I stopped Mavyret, I felt out of sorts. A general malaise. Now it's been one week, and it's gotten worse. Plus, I feel depression coming on. Cured of hep C, but feel like ... garbage. It's weird."

For Hepatitis C "I am 6 weeks post-Mavyret treatment. My last blood work proved I was hepatitis C free. During treatment, I experienced a lot of fatigue and drowsiness. I chose to take Mavyret after a good supper. Then soon after, would retire to bed. I experienced a severe lack of appetite. I had to force myself to eat. My diet mainly consisted of yogurt and lots of water because I was experiencing dehydration. At this point, I have increased energy. It is almost unbelievable the increased energy I am experiencing. Also, my depression is practically obsolete. My pain is down from a 10 to a 4. I highly recommend Mavyret treatment. My 12-week blood work is due in 3 weeks, I will let you know my results. Best wishes to everyone attempting to recover from hepatitis C."

For Hepatitis C "I just finished week 6 of my 8-week prescription of Mavyret. The first 2 weeks were a breeze, no symptoms, still going to the gym daily. Week 2, I got extremely sick, throwing up and diarrhea for 24 hours. Since then, symptoms have been on and off, one day I'll feel great, the next day I'm fatigued, can't work out, and can sleep all day. My muscle fatigue has been horrible. Has anyone else experienced this? Went in for my 1-month check-up, blood work came back good. I'll go in for my next check-up in 3 months."

For Hepatitis C "I'm on my 3rd week of treatment. I'm experiencing terrible fatigue, nausea, flu-like symptoms but not 24/7. Sleeping only 2-3 hrs a night. Got 5 more weeks to go before I will know if I'm cleared. Diagnosed in 2005. Tried the Pegasus treatment and only lasted 8 weeks. This is not as severe. Gotta stay hydrated though, and I need to take little naps, but I think I can get through this one. Prayers for success."

For Hepatitis C "I’ve just finished my Mavyret treatment last Monday and would like to share my experience. I did 4 months of treatment because of my genotype 3 plus a previous unsuccessful interferon, ribavirin treatment. I started Mavyret back in February, and the only big issue I had was dizziness, specifically at night after 2 weeks. This symptom persisted for a few days and then disappeared. I felt dizziness once again during the second month for very few days and then never more. I may have felt fatigue on a few occasions, but I’m not entirely sure it had to do with the treatment. After the first two weeks, my virus load was almost undetectable, and after a month, it was negative. It’s pretty amazing. I’ve done a new blood test today and will do it again in 3 months and 6 months. Fingers crossed it will be negative. If you are afraid of starting this treatment, don’t be. Your body gets used to it, and I swear you don’t feel anything after a while. Good luck, everyone."

For Hepatitis C "I am just in the first week of treatment. I contracted Hep C about 4 years ago and had a heck of a time finally getting approved for the medication. I am so grateful to have found this page and feedback because I have been giving myself anxiety about possible side effects as I live a very active lifestyle. So far, though, the only symptom I have been dealing with is a mental fog of sorts, perhaps it is due to fatigue. I didn't notice anyone else mention that, so I thought I would throw it out there. I am so excited to beat this thing and close out a chapter of my life, as well as sharing my experience with other people. I will check back in as my treatment progresses. Love you all, and God bless!"

For Hepatitis C "I've just completed my first month of Mavyret, and unfortunately, I have had severe nausea every day of the treatment to the point where I can't even get out of bed. Hoping it does the trick because I wouldn't want to go through this again. Other symptoms are tiredness and fatigue, with a little bit of brain fog. No headaches. Thanks, everyone, for posting, pleased I'm not the only one suffering."

For Hepatitis C "This is my second week on Mavyret, and I am truly grateful for this medication, and it was not easy to get. I went to Planet Fitness and was completely fatigued after 11 minutes of cardio. Dizzy. The last few days have been hard to walk my dogs very far or do hiking or much of anything. Lethargic and weird. Luckily, I'm self-employed, but still, it's very different than I've ever felt."

For Hepatitis C "On my 6th week. Just got a call from my nurse that so far, virus undetectable. The drug is doing its job. Doing a happy dance...even though side effects have been kind of heavy. I have felt the drug coursing through my veins and tissues. It kind of grips you as time goes on. I have experienced insomnia, minor headache, dehydration no matter how much water I drink, and some emotional problems due to impatience with not being able to sleep as well. Strange thoughts/dreams, inability to cope at work under stress. Fatigue, heart palpitations. I know this is way better than the older treatments akin to chemotherapy. When you start Mavyret, it is good to have patient supportive people and friends around you. Try to stay positive. I am grateful for the opportunity to get this treatment to kill the bug. I had a large viral load, but Mavy is working and I think I can endure 2 months of uncomfortable for a new start in life...a lifetime without a bug eating my liver. Happy dance!"

For Hepatitis C "Starting the 2nd week and fighting extreme fatigue and minor headaches. Contracted Hep C from dirty transfusions in the early 70s. Already have Stage IV liver damage. Really hope the fatigue gets better. Waited too long for these meds to be invented. Head feels like it's full of mud. Retired - can't imagine trying to hold a job and go through this treatment."

For Hepatitis C "During the 8-week course, I had some nausea, stomach issues, fatigue, and tiredness. I took the 3 pills regularly at 7 pm with my dinner meal. My blood work showed the virus was undetectable after 2 weeks. At completion, I did not regain my energy and needed to rest in the morning and again tired in late afternoon, gradually, within 2 months, the fatigue got worse, and I have an achy neck and shoulder. The virus is still undetectable, so why am I still feeling tired?"

For Hepatitis C "I gained a lot of weight, like 24 pounds. As treatment progressed, I started to feel more fatigued and rundown. By week 6, I was a walking zombie. Seemed like I would drink gallons of water daily and got more and more depressed. However, I have completed treatment and I'm undetected. The few weeks of not feeling well were totally worth it. My advice is not to make any plans the last 2 weeks of treatment and allow others to help you with daily tasks. Also, I did lose 11 pounds in 3 weeks post-treatment. It's a lot of water retention, so don't freak out over weight gain."

For Hepatitis C "Took 8 weeks. I am on hemodialysis. No other meds except for a phosphorus binder with meals. BW shows no virus in my system at the end of treatment!! Worst side effects for me: fatigue (horrible, almost impossible not to take naps during the day); slight headaches (I normally never have them); stomach cramps, which became worse as treatment progressed, a constant gnawing pain in the belly accompanied by some nausea (best to take dose on a FULL stomach - yogurt and cereal in the a.m. is NOT enough); cloudy mind, no motivation, moderate depression, living in a 'dreamworld' (this was the worst for me and kind of slips in and takes you over, a feeling of never waking up from a dream, left of center, distanced from everyone, irritable, somewhat hopeless). Lastly, I had looser stools than normal and a lot of flatulence along with night sweats and tingling skin at times, which included numbness in both arms often when sleeping. BUT all that said, I am SUPER HAPPY I did this. It was worth the eight weeks of 'hell.'"

For Hepatitis C "I'm on my final week of my 8-week program. Looking forward to seeing the end of the medication. My side effects are real but not unbearable. Nausea and sore joints. About 3 hours after my evening dose, I feel unwell and fatigued, but it's manageable. Have had some anxious moments and mild mood events. Again, all manageable based on wanting to end this illness. In the next week, I expect to have blood tests and look forward to a positive outcome. Knowing what I know now, I would jump at this treatment plan. The positive outweighs the negative by far. I would recommend this treatment."

For Hepatitis C "First day of the second week. So far, I am not experiencing abnormal fatigue. I didn't with Hep C and am not now. I take it at 6 pm with a meal. My main side effects are nasty headaches that so far have stayed the same, not worsened. (I may not be drinking enough water), almost no nausea, some abdominal discomfort, some itching, and the flu/cold-like symptoms that I see people are having. I feel warm after taking, but no fever, no rash, no swelling, no difficulty swallowing, but my mouth feels like when you eat spicy food for 4-5 hours after taking. This has not worsened, and I told the nurse in the Mavyret Nurse Ambassador program about it. About 11:30 pm, I take Ambien and go to sleep. Ambien is the only thing that helps the headache so I can sleep. The doctor's office knows I take Ambien. The mornings are when I feel the best. But the headache comes back at some point. I'm retired, so I don't have to go to a job, and I'm glad of that!"

For Hepatitis C "Second day on Mavyret, and I give 10 stars. The side effects for me are brain fog, fatigue, nausea, body aches, as well as cold and hot flashes. I can feel the medication in my body. It's all tolerated!!! I am a person who is intolerant and allergic to many medications. I was so fearful, and now I can't stop smiling. I'm hopeful to clear this virus and will write more in a few weeks. Thank you to all who created Mavyret."

For Hepatitis C "It has been on Mavyret for 5 and a half weeks and just got a call from the blood work to say no sign of Hep C. So happy as I had had it for 20 years. I, like other people have said, have less energy and flu-like symptoms, headaches in the morning. Hopefully, all that goes away when I am done. I feel for the person who said it's still showing after almost being done with treatment, but I hope you will beat it. Hang in there, everyone! There are very low side effects compared to the old medicines that only put you in remission."

For Hepatitis C "When I posted last time, it was day one of treatment. Now I am starting week 7 in two days. So far, so good. My 4-week blood results went from a starting viral load of 1,600,000 to below 15 & not truly measurable below 15. I have read that is considered a 0? Hoping in 9 days, when I do 8 wk blood, to have a true 0 viral load. Side effects: headache & fatigue, especially in the late afternoon. Sure beats interferon I did 15 years ago. Pray the treatment is truly the cure, I will continue to post. At F3 fibrosis, so pray the cure will allow the liver to rejuvenate? Lastly, to those that posted worries about having Hep B as well, I have had it & no problem with flare-ups. Prior to Mavyret approval, they test your B status, so you should be fine. Good luck to all & GOD BLESS the people from Mavyret!"

For Hepatitis C "I'm 3 weeks into a 12-week treatment. The first couple of weeks were up, down, headache, nausea, fatigue. Third week much better. I find it's much easier if you stay hydrated. Not just a little bit, I'm talking at least a gallon of water a day. Sometimes more. I take my dose right before bed with a snack so I sleep through a lot of the beginning side effects. It works for me. Also, high-fat meals make absorption much better. Good luck, all."

For Hepatitis C "On week 5 of the Mavyret and just got my 4-week blood results back and found it to drop from over 9 million to just 120 with a little over 4 weeks to go. Very little side effects. Some headaches and fatigue at first, but didn't stop any everyday activity."

For Hepatitis C "I'm receiving this treatment in England. I'm in my last week of treatment, and the virus is STILL detectable. To say I'm scared is an understatement! I have done everything right: no alcohol, no meat, plenty of exercise. I have not had any fatigue or side effects from the drug, so I'm confused. I went into the treatment with good numbers to begin with: healthy FibroScan, etc. I read that people are showing undetectable at 3 and 4 weeks. What am I doing wrong? I don't know what I will do if it doesn't go."

For Hepatitis C "I just finished my 8-week treatment the day before yesterday. I had extreme fatigue, I was very depressed and thinking crazy stuff, had nightmares, was in a weird sleep the first few weeks, like couldn't sleep, but maybe I was asleep... I don't know, just weird. Had diarrhea a few times and just very weak. I have 2 babies and could barely take care of them some days! It was a nightmare! I'm glad it's over! I haven't had blood work yet but will in a month. My doc told me to take 12 weeks but apparently got changed to 8 at the end but said it was 8 whole time. I'm pretty sure it was Medicaid not wanting to pay for more, and my doc is lazy! I stopped the day before yesterday and can't stop throwing up and having diarrhea today must be a bug I'm guessing. I was diagnosed in 2015 plus had some other liver issues besides hep... wish everyone luck! It's not easy but can be done! I wish I would have known about this treatment a few years ago!"
