For Asthma, Maintenance "I was switched to this medication after my asthma had slightly deteriorated. Initially, it seemed to be helping, but then it went downhill. My breathing got worse, with asthma far more severe than ever before. I began using my reliever inhaler every day, then multiple times a day. It felt like someone was standing on my chest, I was constantly coughing, lots of mucus, pain and tightness. Exercise triggered serious asthma attacks. I was given steroid tablets to bring it back under control, but it quickly deteriorated again once they’d stopped. I went on the steroid tablets again for another week and made a decision to stop the Seretide (UK name) and go back to using a separate steroid inhaler, Clenil, and the reliever. I felt immediately like some pressure had been removed, and when the steroids stopped, it didn’t deteriorate in the same way. I don’t understand why my asthma nurse was so keen for me to use it, and it was hugely detrimental for months."

Fluticasone / salmeterol for Asthma, Maintenance "One downside is that it appears to cause coughing in the throat. Overall, breathing is always easier when regularly on Advair."

Fluticasone / salmeterol for Asthma, Maintenance "Worthless, caused coughing and my symptoms to worsen. They probably paid the FDA off to push this through. It literally has no effect like I'm just inhaling powder... How do they get away with this?"

For Asthma, Maintenance "I was just prescribed this medication due to my allergy flare-up and asthma. I have been coughing more than usual, but it's helping with me not using my rescue as much in the morning and night."
