For Acne "The pill TriNessa is an excellent temporary acne treatment, but not for mental health. Each time the months pass, the bad side effects are aggravated as: headache, change of mood, gum disease, hair loss, weight gain, vaginal infection, and depression."

For Acne "I thought that this would clear up my face (was hoping at least), and it didn't. I mean, I break out just like I did before, and it's annoying. However, if you don't have acne and you want a good birth control, I highly recommend this because it really does do its job. My periods are always on time, and they aren't unbearable at all. I think I gained weight, but then it went away. So, it didn't affect my acne, and I think it's a good birth control."

For Birth Control "At first, I’ve been using Lo Loestrin Fe for 6 months and had to switch due to being depressed all the time. I’ve never experienced depression until I took the pill. I would wake up every morning crying and feeling like a soulless human being. It was horrible to be feeling very low in life and starting my first semester of college. I finally decided to change to Trinessa Lo in hopes my depression would go away. Trinessa Lo has made me feel so much better, and I was myself again. The first month of using it, I did notice I broke out, but it stopped after the second. Another thing about the pill is I’ve noticed I’ve gained weight. I’m a skinny girl and have always been in shape, but now I can see I’ve got weight on me. I’m happy overall with Trinessa Lo because I’m no longer depressed. I don’t regret much in life, but taking Lo Loestrin Fe is something I wish I’d never encountered. It did ruin my confidence and relationship, but I’m in the process of healing again."

For Birth Control "Not good at all. I just started my 3-pack, and I'm taking myself off of it. The experience has been horrible. I've had unbelievable mood swings since the start. Major breast tenderness, my PMS starts about 2 weeks early. Lots of chin acne. Nausea every single night. Slight weight gain. But my worst side effect is my hair started falling out. Literally in clumps. I have very, very thick hair, and it's noticeably thinner. My mother noticed just by looking at my hairline, and my hairdresser also confirmed it was significantly thinner. Unfortunately, I have to be on a birth control, otherwise, I have too many issues without it. However, I've taken myself off of this and thrown away my last pack. I know pills work differently for everyone, but I would not recommend."

For Acne "I was on Aubra for 4 months, and I broke out on the jawline. I just switched to TriNessa and I'm breaking out with cystic acne on my jawline, sides of my face, and also my forehead. I've gained about 3 pounds, and it's only been 3 weeks on my first pack. I do not know what to do. I also became less patient, cranky, moody, feeling sticky, and swollen. I don't know if I should continue taking it and give it some time..."

For Acne "I went back on birth control hoping to alleviate some of my acne (I'm 26), and the first month of being on Trinessa was terrible – headaches, nausea, heartburn – and now that I'm nearing the end of the second month, I'm experiencing weight gain all over – I can't fit into my bras, my waist is thicker, etc., and the acne is still present, although slightly better. I'm calling my doctor to see about switching brands."

For Birth Control "I am going to start by saying that every birth control works differently on every body and gene type, but I can say that TriNessa is showing me how horrible birth control can be. I started taking birth control when I was 15 and have been using TriNessa since then. This was my first birth control. I was okay for the first 3 years of my life, acne great, no weight gain, no irregular bleeding, but my period was heavy and my mood swings were absolutely insane. From having serious depression to anxiety about everything. For the past two years now, I have been starting to gain weight as I am 20. I have put on at least 20 pounds and still have depression and anxiety. I just went off of it today and hope I can be myself again."

For Birth Control "I was on this for about two years. I gained 20 lbs from it. But I needed to regulate my period. Also, my thyroid levels always changed drastically on this, while off it, not too bad. TriNessa also made my breasts hurt so bad, showers were horrible with the water hitting them. I feel bloated half the month and irritated that this is the only birth control I can afford because insurance won't cover even with my condition. Also, my eyes always were dry and itchy."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for years. Later on, my doctor prescribed me TriNessa, assuring me it was the exact same BC, just a generic name. The first few weeks appeared to be normal, but I have horrible cystic acne. Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo helped significantly with it, but with TriNessa, my acne was coming back and in waves. I also experienced horrible spotting, my periods would last almost 2 weeks with TriNessa. I thought it was just a fluke thing. I was originally 118 lbs, with a very physical routine, I was up to 135 lbs with the same eating habits and routine. Weight gain, all due to TriNessa. My breasts went from C's to DD's. This pill causes the worst depression, completely lost the will to try, to want. Worst medication ever. Scary."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this pill for 4.5 years. Started right before freshman year, and I gained 20 lbs within a couple of months, which left HORRIBLE stretch marks. I lost that after a year and got back to my original weight. Good for birth control, but I have to switch due to spotting after my period and periods becoming heavier... it's just not strong enough for me anymore. Would recommend, but unfortunately, I just need something else. It also really helped my acne. Switching to the shot now."

For Birth Control "This is the only birth control I've ever taken, and I just started it at the beginning of the month. I don't know if it's supposed to get better, but I've been so emotional, and I've been gaining weight, about 10 pounds in less than a month. I work out and eat healthy. I feel bloated, and I want to stop taking this. Would not recommend. My acne hasn't even cleared, it's gotten worse."

For Acne "Good: my hormonal acne is minimal, which is amazing because it was bad and getting worse. Good: no pregnancies yet. Bad: I’ve gained 50 lbs in 9 months. My lifestyle hasn’t changed much because my average weight was around 165. I was 145 lbs when I started and am now 210 lbs, a record high for me. Something has got to change, so I’m meeting with my doctor."

"I used to have very irregular periods, but while on TriNessa, they came right when they were supposed to. It did not, however, help at all with the heaviness of my period or my mild acne! And I gained 10 pounds. I am going to talk to my doctor to see if anything will make me not experience weight gain (and acne)."

For Birth Control "I opted for TriNessa, like many others, to clear up my hormonal acne and obviously to prevent pregnancy. At both, it was successful. It took a month or so for my hormones to be balanced and the acne to clear, but now that I’ve been off of it, the acne is coming back. My periods became less painful, so that’s another plus. As for weight gain, I suspect I gained weight at the onset of taking it, but I wasn’t weighing myself. I have just recently started to lose weight. So I can’t be sure if it was the pill that caused me to gain weight or if I was just letting myself go or a combo of both. Anyway, there was also a definite vaginal dryness and major decrease in libido."

"TriNessa pill is okay. I’ve had a slightly better experience than with others. In the first 30 days, it was cool, didn't kill my libido, no vaginal dryness, no acne. Now I am 10 pounds heavier, that cystic acne is cranking up again, and I am bloated! To the point where I look pregnant. I have also been dealing with some serious leg cramps, shooting pain up and down my leg. I'm going to hold off on taking this for a while."

For Birth Control "I'm 22, not sexually active, and taking the pill as a form of prevention against ovarian and uterine cancers. I've been on this pill for almost two full cycles. Before the pill, I rarely, if ever, had acne and prided myself on a clear complexion. Now, my face is a warzone, I have awful acne and acne scarring. It has been emotionally devastating, and my confidence has dwindled. Everyone in my life has noticed the drastic change. I feel embarrassed. My dermatologist said it may take 3 or 4 months for my system to regulate. Overall, I haven't had any other side effects, apart from weight gain."

For Acne "I was prescribed TriNessa pill for both birth control uses and acne. I was worried about my boobs getting bigger, I was already a D, and gaining weight, both of which my doctor assured me wouldn’t happen. I gained weight within DAYS of this pill. I thought it was bloating, so I kept taking it. Nope. I went from a size 4 to an 8 within a month despite exercising and eating healthier than ever. My skin also was the worst it’s ever been. It’s normally not too bad, but so many of my friends on BC had perfect skin, and I wanted in. Instead, I got little bumps everywhere that refused to clear up. My boobs went up to a DD as well. I didn’t experience much nausea or mood swings with this, and it did its job preventing pregnancy. I stuck it out for 3 months to give my hormones time to even out, and nothing changed. A month and a half later, I gave up. As soon as I stopped taking it, all the side effects reversed. Let’s just say I’m sticking to a dermatologist and condoms from now on."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a year now. Until recently, everything is coming together to only prove how bad this birth control is for me. I have horrible mood swings, nausea, depression, tired more, slight weight gain, thinning of my hair (used to have nice thick hair, and now it is thin), and if I miss a day and take two together, I get really sick. I can only say that I have not gotten pregnant, and I have decent periods. All I know is that I need to change quick. Some birth controls work better for others, but please listen to your body and watch for any changes, etc."

For Acne "Was prescribed TriNessa for acne and mood swings. Made my acne terrible, worse than ever before, and developed mood swings worse than ever. Didn’t help my severe cramps whatsoever. Didn’t gain weight (I think? I don’t weigh myself). But overall, made acne and mood swings worse."

For Birth Control "My first month was fine! I am a very emotional person and prone to anxiety attacks, and it never made it worse! Almost felt like it made it better... HOWEVER, after the first month, I started having itchy skin, vaginal discharge, vaginal burning and irritation, hives all over my body, eczema on my fingers! Really weird stuff... went to the doctor and got tested for everything! Including STDs. All negative. The only thing we could think of was this birth control. Kept taking it for a third month, symptoms got worse, even started gaining weight and acne! Stopped taking it on a Saturday, it is now Thursday: most all symptoms are gone. It had to be the BC..."
