For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for the past 5 months, and I've had nothing but horrible experiences. I started the first pill with my period, and I was okay up until week 1. It was prom, and I got extremely nauseous and threw up twice! I felt horrible (uncontrollable nausea, headaches, crazy mood changes, dry mouth) during the first month, but I decided to stick with it since the side effects were 'normal.' Months 2-4 were better; barely any nausea, only slight mood changes, regular light period. Now in month 5, I'm noticing how much I have changed (because it's summer) and how different I've become. I've become depressed; even thinking about crying makes me cry!"

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for about a year now. My doctor prescribed it for me since I hadn't had my period for a year because I was on the Depo shot and gained so much weight from the shot! But ever since I've been on TriNessa, my period is usually on time and is usually short, about 3-5 days. I don't really bleed much. I sometimes have mood swings, getting sad randomly, but that's about it. I recommend it to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for about 5 or 6 months. I've gotten extreme headaches and mood swings. I've never had a panic or anxiety attack before, and every month I've been having terrible panic attacks. I also experience really bad bloating. I will be switching off of this pill!"

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for 11 months. It did get rid of my cystic acne, but I always had little zits all month. I take the pill at night, and for the first week, it gives me bad nausea. I have headaches around my period. I have terrible mood swings. I have completely lost my sex drive. I like that my periods are 2 or 3 days, but I spot every day halfway through the pack. The pill's not terrible, but it's not good for me."

For Birth Control "I started TriNessa 5 months ago, for the second time. First, when I was 20 years old, it worked great. Now I'm 31, started again to prevent pregnancy and just feel pain on my breasts (around my nipples). Also, my sex life has decreased with my partner. My mood has also changed. I'm debating whether I should stop the pill or not."

For Birth Control "I've only been on this pill for 4 days, but so far, so good. My face has been clearing up, I haven't noticed any weight gain and haven't noticed any major changes in my mood. Before TriNessa, I tried Minastrin, and it was the worst experience of my life. I had to stop after day 4 because I had horrible mood swings, depression, and anxiety to the point where I almost went to the hospital. The only complaint I have so far is that my stomach has been super weird, and my period was the worst it's ever been. I started it the 1st day of my period, and it was super heavy and full of blood clots, and I had cramps for 3 days. Hoping my stomach issues stop and my mood doesn't change. I will update in a month or so."

For Birth Control "I took TriNessa for about a year, and I should have stopped way sooner. The side effects were bad: decreased libido, mood swings, depression, complete dryness in my vagina. It did clear up my skin, but I would not recommend it to anyone."

For Acne "I had beautiful, clear skin until I was 23. From the time I was 23 until I was 27, I had horrible cystic acne only on my cheeks and jaw. I worked out usually 5 days a week, ate semi-healthy, but had high stress. Before TriNessa, I weighed 123 (which is low for me). I have been on TriNessa now for 4 years (now I am 32), and I have no acne, no baby, and I weigh 133 (but I work out a lot less, and I am still considered a petite woman). I have been suicidal since I was 9, and I feel this has no effect on my moods, but my husband took records and said the week before my period is when I am saddest. Also, the week before my period, I weigh 138 but drop down to 133 the day the blue pills start. This is the only contraceptive I have tried. Try it, good luck."

For Birth Control "I was on TriNessa for 4.5 years, originally went on it to control my acne, which it did for the most part, but definitely not 100%, despite having a strict face cleansing routine. It didn't start to clear my skin for at least 2 months, at that time, I also increased about two cup sizes, which was nice. I had slight mood swings in the first 3 months, but I think that's to be expected when going on the pill. Haven't had mood swings since the first 3 months. I'm going off of it now because in the past week, I have noticed I'm breaking out a lot, and I think I've been on this too long for it to keep controlling my acne."

For Birth Control "I just started this last week, and I've had the worst nausea in the world. Can't even sleep. I take it at night and wake up feeling really unwell. I'm taking it to regulate my period, but I swear it's not worth it. I want to stop, but I don't know if I should wait to see if it would go away. I'm extremely emotional and grumpy. I get mad about anything and cry about anything. It's ridiculous! I don't know what to do! Help?!"

For Birth Control "I was on TriNessa for about 2.5 years. At first, it was fine. I was having sex. Never got pregnant. My acne was minimal. No serious weight gain. My mood swings and depression, however, were through the roof. I felt like I was going insane. I thought I was bipolar. I went off it, and I’ve been mostly fine. It’s a good birth control, but the depression/anxiety/mood swings absolutely were not worth it to me."

For Birth Control "As far as birth control goes, yes it is effective. But the positives end there. I have been taking this pill for over 5 months now, and the side effects have been miserable. I constantly feel bloated and have gained weight. My breasts have grown a cup size, which is kind of okay, but it just adds to the feeling of bloatedness. My periods have lost some of the cramps, but this pill does not make them any shorter. The worst side effect of all, though, has to be the mood swings. Before taking this pill, I was a very calm, emotionally stable person. Not anymore. I cry often and easily, and worst of all, I angrily snap at my loving boyfriend over ridiculous things. It has seriously put a strain on our relationship. I am switching ASAP."

For Birth Control "I was having a lot of problems with spotting, so my doctor put me on TriNessa, and it was terrible. Each month, like clockwork, after finishing the second week of pills, I would have spotting that would last until I took my last pill, and then it's period time, so basically had a period for two weeks. Also, when I was off the active pills, I was really emotional. I would always be very, very depressed the first day of my period, and I would just remind myself it was because of the pill, but no one wants to willingly feel that way. My doctor has switched me over to Seasonique, and I am starting that in two weeks. I hope that helps me, as I've been dealing with spotting issues for almost a year and have been on probably four different pills, and nothing has helped."

For Birth Control "I was on TriNessa for about a year. Usually, I'm a happy person and rarely cry over anything. I'm just now realizing that during that year, the reason I was emotional and crying at least once a month over the smallest things was because of the pills. I then, after that year, skipped a few months and am now back on it. I have cried over the smallest things uncontrollably, and I am sure it's because of the pill. I'm going to switch pills."

For Acne "Better than anything I’ve tried! Started trying birth control when I was a sophomore in high school. Tried Lo Loestrin, Depo shot, and a few others over the past 5 years. They all gave me horrible cystic acne, mood swings, extreme weight gain, etc. UNTIL TRINESSA. Yes, it will take MONTHS for your body to get used to it, and yes, your acne WILL get worse before it gets better, but this is a long-term fix once you get used to it and take it at the same time every day. Everyone’s body reacts differently, but this is an 8/10 for me (which is better than anything else I’ve ever tried). I do get very bad side effects if I miss a pill or have to double up, but that’s my fault. I do get a minor bump here and there, but if I ever get actual breakouts, it’s because I’m eating dairy or unhealthy foods/not working out, not because of TriNessa. It has also shortened my periods from sometimes even 7-8 days to 4-5 days. Some weight gain, but it all went to my breasts, so not complaining."

"I have been on TriNessa for 3 months. Everything was going just fine the first two months, a little irritated at times, but I assumed that's just my body getting used to the birth control. Anyway, it wasn't until recently, halfway through my second month up until the middle of my third month (today) that I have been beyond sensitive. Tired. Really sore breasts and literally crying at random times of day, I just cry for no reason, but I feel so helpless. I have never felt so overwhelmed and emotional my whole life. I'm seriously not the crying type at all. As soon as I finish this pack, I'm trying something different. I have the mood swings."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa now for about three months, and I love it! I was very hesitant going into it after reading many bad reviews, but so far it's been smooth sailing. I have not had any breakthrough bleeding, I just get mild morning stomach aches after my period ends and I start a new pack. Mild mood swings, but nothing I can't handle. This is the first birth control I've been on, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I love it!"

For Acne "About to start my 4th month on this pill. Mainly went on this pill for acne, but not much improvement. Especially around the week of my period, all hell breaks loose. Thankfully, the period itself only lasts 3-4 days now, and it's fairly light. No weight gain, slight increase in breast size, no stomach pains, no hair loss. I am pretty emotional now, though, I cry at every sad video I see, and every little thing seems to set me off. Also, whenever I lay down, my left arm and leg go slightly numb."

For Acne "Trinessa really worked well for me. I have PCOS and have always had really irregular periods. Trinessa fixed my irregular periods and cleared up my acne in about 3-4 months. I also have noticed that my mood swings have decreased since starting the medication."

For Acne "I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for many years. I don't recall having any problems. Up until last year, for some reason my prescription changed to TriNessa because it was the 'generic' version of Ortho. I went back to the doctor to get a refill last month, and they put me on another generic brand this time of TriNessa. Within the first week of taking it, I was getting bad migraines. The second and third week, I was feeling nauseous all day with also bad stomach pain. I noticed I was feeling depressed and unmotivated. One thing that scared me was my mood swings. I wasn't aware of it at all until my boyfriend said I went from being happy to irritable within minutes. After not even a full month of taking this pill, I will be switching."

For Birth Control "I started TriNessa because I had horrible cramps to the point where I would lay on the bathroom floor for days, and my doctor said that it would fix this. Although it lessened this symptom somewhat, I have had insane mood swings, depression, and nausea. Crying for no reason with depressing thoughts for 10-14 days is not worth a little less stomach pain every month. I'm going to try to switch brands soon."

For Birth Control "I started taking TriNessa in November, and this is by far the worst pill ever. During the first and second month of taking this pill, I was super nauseous, and I experienced terrible ovulation pain if I did not take my pill at the exact time every day. Currently, I have horrible mood swings, depression, and my skin is breaking out like crazy. The only thing this pill didn't do was gain weight. Going to my doctor next week to change my BC plan."

For Birth Control "I have been taking TriNessa for years! I believe I started this pill at 17-18, and I'm now 30. I do notice some of the symptoms mentioned (bloating and emotional), however, I don't expect the pill to fix that, as it's part of menstruation. The week before the placebo pills, I get emotional and super bloated, but that goes away after my cycle. I would suggest this pill, as it's the best one yet for me."

For Birth Control "I liked Ortho Tri-Cyclen better, but Tri-Sprintec way worse! I experienced heavier and longer periods while on it and mood swings sometimes (could just be the norm for a 25-year-old female though!). I switched to Tri-Sprintec and experienced extreme nausea, although the pharmacist insisted it was the exact same medications, just different manufacturers. I will be going back on TriNessa next month."
