For Birth Control "I am going to start by saying that every birth control works differently on every body and gene type, but I can say that TriNessa is showing me how horrible birth control can be. I started taking birth control when I was 15 and have been using TriNessa since then. This was my first birth control. I was okay for the first 3 years of my life, acne great, no weight gain, no irregular bleeding, but my period was heavy and my mood swings were absolutely insane. From having serious depression to anxiety about everything. For the past two years now, I have been starting to gain weight as I am 20. I have put on at least 20 pounds and still have depression and anxiety. I just went off of it today and hope I can be myself again."

"Trinessa was an awful experience for me. I wasn't on it very long until I started having bad side effects. I had vaginal itching, mood swings, depression, and an increase in acne. After experiencing depression, I soon quit taking it and my period started. Trinessa had also caused my period symptoms to be much worse."

For Birth Control "I originally switched to this brand after having severe mood swings/increased depression while on Seasonique. My doctor suggested skipping a month of the pills, which helped a lot. We determined Seasonique was not the best option. She prescribed me TriNessa, which has been a major step up since Seasonique. However, my acne has not changed any, and my sex drive is through the roof. I’m likely going to be switching to an IUD after the next few weeks to solve the problem."

For Acne "I started TriNessa Lo almost 2 months ago because I want to clear my acne. During the first month, I didn't see any improvement. In fact, I think that it even got worse. During the second month, my face started clearing up. I am experiencing some side effects, but I plan to continue to stay on the pill, hoping that my body will get used to it and the side effects will fade away. My period was very light, and I experienced less cramping than before taking the pill. Some side effects: I feel depressed during the first week (while I'm on the white pills), and then this goes away, then my breasts get HUGE and hurt a lot. I cannot stand moving without wearing bras. The tenderness and pain are awful."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for years. Later on, my doctor prescribed me TriNessa, assuring me it was the exact same BC, just a generic name. The first few weeks appeared to be normal, but I have horrible cystic acne. Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo helped significantly with it, but with TriNessa, my acne was coming back and in waves. I also experienced horrible spotting, my periods would last almost 2 weeks with TriNessa. I thought it was just a fluke thing. I was originally 118 lbs, with a very physical routine, I was up to 135 lbs with the same eating habits and routine. Weight gain, all due to TriNessa. My breasts went from C's to DD's. This pill causes the worst depression, completely lost the will to try, to want. Worst medication ever. Scary."

For Birth Control "I'm in the middle of my third month using TriNessa. I'm 17, and it's the first form of birth control pills I've tried. Overall, these first few months have been a positive experience. I had minor acne which is all gone, and I never break out. My periods are much lighter. I only have to use a 'regular' size tampon for four days, but then I will usually spot for three to four more days, in which I'll just use a panty liner. My first week and month on TriNessa was pretty difficult, it messed with my vision and definitely my mood. I became very depressed and even suicidal at times, but things have gotten better since then. I have not gained or lost any weight on the pill and still have the same appetite. Also, it has been a great contraceptive."

For Birth Control "I took TriNessa for 3 months, and it was driving me crazy. This was my first time ever taking birth control, and my experience was awful! My mood swings were very bad, I had slight depression, emotional problems, I just got married, and I didn't want my husband to touch me, and vaginal discharge all the time was grossing me out! No weight gain, and my period was on point! But I will never ever go back to this again!"

For Birth Control "I'm 36 years old. I used TriNessa Lo for 3 months for the purpose of birth control. I recently decided to stop taking it because I had so many side effects from it. The worst side effect that I experienced was daily nausea. It was as if I was feeling morning sickness all day long the entire time I was on the pill. The only time I had relief was when I was having my period. I could barely tolerate foods and drinks that I normally consume. I also experienced hypersensitivity to smell... certain smells (like air fresheners) made me feel sick. I also experienced occasional headaches and broke out with more acne than I have had in years. I also found that I felt significantly more depressed near the end of my cycle before my period started."

For Birth Control "I've been taking TriNessa for about 5 months, and I've never been such a miserable person in my life. I developed severe depression, mood swings, anxiety, and fatigue. This pill has almost ended my marriage because of how irritable I have been. I can't wait to go to the doctor to switch brands!"

For Acne "Don't do it. I went on this birth control because I was sexually active and I wanted something that would also minimize my breakouts. I would typically get a pimple a month. Towards the last week of taking this pill, my face broke out worse than it ever has. I had thousands of pimples. It was a mixture of small pimples, which are called comedo, and big cystic pimples along my jawline. I read reviews saying that you have to stay on the pills for at least three months, then things will balance out. I took the pill for another month, and things started to get even worse. I was so depressed and anxious. I stopped after my second pack, and my face immediately started to improve. If you're not reacting well, just stop, don't wait. I'm now on Lo Loestrin Fe."

For Birth Control "I’m just now stopping the use of this drug. I’ll be starting Viorele probably next month and am hoping for better results. I started this drug 3 months ago after an ectopic. I have PCOS as well, so I was also hoping that with the birth control help, it would stop the abnormal bleeding and long periods. It did the opposite. I’ve bled longer on this drug than I have without any birth control. It used to happen once every few months, now it’s a monthly issue. I’ve been super depressed and emotional while on this drug, and very, very angry and aggressive. Which is why I’ve stopped. I don’t like this feeling. If it happens with this new pill, I’ll go off of birth control for good."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about a year now. Until recently, everything is coming together to only prove how bad this birth control is for me. I have horrible mood swings, nausea, depression, tired more, slight weight gain, thinning of my hair (used to have nice thick hair, and now it is thin), and if I miss a day and take two together, I get really sick. I can only say that I have not gotten pregnant, and I have decent periods. All I know is that I need to change quick. Some birth controls work better for others, but please listen to your body and watch for any changes, etc."

For Birth Control "I had started this pill back in April after having my second endometriosis attack that landed me in the hospital. I had tried other birth control pills prior to this one, and they did not work either when it came to my endometriosis. I stopped taking this pill one month ago because it began to make me feel nauseous throughout the day, and I began to feel emotional from it as well. I have to say that it did shorten and lighten my periods, though. I am very depressed that it did not work for me. I have been battling these issues for many years, and nothing has been 100% effective yet. If you have bad endometriosis, don't use this pill! I hope to find a birth control that stops my periods and treats my endometriosis soon."

For Acne "No problems with the effectiveness of the contraceptive in terms of pregnancy. However, I broke out all over my face with acne for the first time in my life, and I'm 23. I've also had heightened feelings of depression and anxiety that I've never experienced before since taking TriNessa Lo."

For Birth Control "I took these pills for a year, and I could notice the changes in my mood. I also was depressed when I have always been a person that hardly cries until I started these pills. I cried for nothing, even the stupidest thing. Also, I was dry all the time. The only good thing about them was that all my acne went away, and my skin looked fine. But I do not recommend them at all. Then I switched to Microgestin 5 months ago, but I am now reading the reviews, and people complain about the same. So I am switching off pills again."

For Birth Control "I started taking this medication primarily for birth control and acne treatment. My experience while on this medication has been fair. It has done a good job preventing pregnancy so far. It didn't really do anything to improve my acne, and I still get the hormonal acne along the jawline. I also feel extra tired, brain fogged, and very moody at times. I also felt more anxious, depressed after beginning it and even had to start taking antidepressants because of it. The only reason I'm still taking it is that the side effects are somewhat manageable and it has prevented pregnancy so far."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking TriNessa, my skin began to break out and I began to have mood swings. After close to 2 months, my skin cleared and was clear the remainder of my time taking the pill. I had to stop taking TriNessa because it caused EXTREME depression every time I got my period and made me very, very emotional. I told my doctor, and she told me to stop taking it immediately. Since stopping, my skin is breaking out, I’ve had migraines and moderate cramping."
