For Birth Control "This drug is a life ruiner. I was on Trinessa for a while and doing fine before I randomly got switched to this for no reason. Since starting this drug, I have become nauseous, lightheaded, depressed, constipated, and extremely fatigued. I can only wear loose, flowy clothing or I will get heat flashes and pass out (I'm only 21). I have headaches regularly. Anxiety tics that I worked hard to get rid of years ago are back. I have painful cystic acne that I never had before, and I've gained weight. Taking this drug almost made me fail a semester of school, and it cost me multiple friendships because I was too fatigued and depressed to leave my room and socialize. My self-confidence is at an all-time low. It is not worth it. This drug is cruel."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Started on the Tri-Sprintec pill to treat my endometriosis. I need to stop having my period in order for my endometriosis to stop growing and stretching out to my other organs. I just finished Lupron, which was not that great, and now I'm on the pill and haven't stopped bleeding. Ten days and still with a heavy flow ... in so much pain right now."

For Acne "This has been the worst birth control pill I have ever been on! Cystic acne all over my cheeks, and my acne wasn’t terrible before starting this medication. Do NOT use this BC pill, it will make your acne worse."

For Birth Control "Let me just start with the fact that if I am going to buy or use anything under the sun, it is more than likely that I have read every review ever written on the item before buying/using it, etc. Before going on the pill, I read reviews for at least 100 different brands/versions of the combo pill and mini-pill before narrowing it down to three options (all combo pills). I talked each option over with my OBGYN, and we settled on Tri-Sprintec for a few reasons. A. Triphasic (mirrors natural hormone levels better) B. Estrogen/androgen/progestin ingredients/levels help with acne, and C. The first two weeks of pills are low dose. Pros: no mood swings, no weight gain except in boobs. Cons: medium cramps, slight breakthrough bleeding. Overall: love it!"

For Acne "I started taking Tri-Sprintec when I was 17. I am now 24. This was originally recommended to me by my OBGYN for acne and migraines, and it has made my skin great and migraines disappear. Occasional breakouts, but nothing major. In the beginning, I had no major emotional, weight, or period issues. My periods are still very light and last about 5 days. After a few years, my weight spiraled out of control, and I ended up gaining about 45 pounds (from 122 to 160!) and also dealt with depression, anxiety, low energy/lethargy, and increased appetite. Every body is different, which is why it is important to monitor your symptoms over YEARS. Things can change. I am now switching to a lower dose of hormones and seeing if there is a change."

For Birth Control "I had a baby girl 6 months ago, and I started this about 2 months ago. At first, I was doing great with it, but then, after about 2 weeks of taking it, I have really noticed some not-so-great changes in me. My chin is constantly breaking out, so it did not help clear up the acne. I have really had some bad mood swings of just feeling really sad, and my anxiety has been pretty bad. It has really messed with my sleeping patterns. I also gained about 16 lbs from the time I started taking this pill until now. I wear contacts, and it really seems to dry my eyes out and make my vision a little blurry, which I haven't really had much trouble with before. I am seeing my doctor soon, and we are planning on switching me to another birth control pill."

For Birth Control "I switched from TriNessa to Tri-Sprintec around 6 months ago, due to the discontinuance of TriNessa. I had previously been on TriNessa for roughly 3 years with zero side effects. Once I switched to Tri-Sprintec, I couldn’t even tell the difference. These two contraceptives are the only ones I’ve ever been able to take. All others have had way too many unbearable side effects. My acne has improved. I suffer from headaches, and Tri-Sprintec has not worsened them at all. I have no gastrointestinal side effects. No tenderness. I don’t notice a difference with my mood either. The menstrual cycle is regulated well with a light to moderate flow. I highly recommend."

For Acne "I decided to try Tri-Sprintec after a friend recommended it to me, she said it cleared her acne up miraculously. I started this pill a month ago, and I have always had moderate-severe acne (it used to be worse but gradually got better, never fully went away). This pill made me have acne as bad as I had freshman year. It was so bad back then, and I have been absolutely miserable the entire time on this pill. Not only have my emotions been on overdrive, but I never want to leave my house. The pimples are large and everywhere on my face, even in places I rarely break out. Please do not try this pill, there are so many others you could take."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Tri-Sprintec when I was 15 years old to regulate my period. I turn 20 in two weeks and have been taking this birth control consistently. I have had minimal issues (occasional breast tenderness-no big deal). All birth controls have their side effects, but to say that this would alter my decision to take this birth control is bizarre. I have sex with my partner about every other day, and we NEVER use condoms. However, he only 'finishes' in me once or twice every few months. Even then, I have (luckily) had no problems. I have had no weight gain or mood swings or any other side effects. It has also kept my face perfectly clear since it doubles as an acne fighter. Very impressed and would HIGHLY recommend to younger people."

For Acne "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for two months now. I have had persistent mild acne (plus scarring :/) since middle school. (I'm in my twenties now). I must say -- this pill has improved my skin. It's not perfect, but I've noticed that my normally breakout-prone skin has cleared up a bit, so that's nice to see. And now the negative: my appetite has increased immensely. I feel like I'm starving all the time. It's like constant PMS. I'm hoping this will go away as my body acclimates to the pill... I've consequently gained about 10 pounds... BUT -- my boobs have gotten bigger as a result, and my bum as well, so perhaps it's not all bad..."

For Acne "I've been using this birth control for 3 months now, and I'm starting my 4th month now. I started taking the pill to hopefully help with my acne, and it seems to be working somewhat well until recently. When I started taking it, the acne I had improved a bit, but a few weeks ago my face basically blew up. I developed tons of it from just below my cheekbones, across my chin, and along my jawline, but my forehead stays clear. I initially thought that it was just a breakout to signal that my period was starting (I normally get a little more just before, even on the pill), but it didn't go away. It's terrible, and it's never been this bad before, even off the pill."

For Acne "I was forced to switch over to Tri-Sprintec because they discontinued Tri-Nessa Lo. I have never had worse acne in my entire life. If I had read these reviews previously, I would not have taken it. The pharmacy said it was 'pretty much the same.' It is not, I should have been put on the Tri-LO-Sprintec. There are two different strengths of the Tri-pills, the low and the higher one. They changed me to the higher one. This medication has caused my depression and anxiety to spike in extremes. I have never experienced cystic acne until now. Full coverage makeup cannot hide the embarrassment I've been feeling in public for months. I've taken it for 3 months, and it's been 3 days since I officially stopped."

For Ovarian Cysts "I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 14, and I'm now 23. I've been on and off different forms of BC. Tri-Sprintec is the ONLY form of BC that has helped me. My periods are regulated, I have no acne, no unwanted facial hair, and it hasn't made me gain any kind of weight. The only negative effect I've experienced with Tri-Sprintec is an occasional headache. Other than that, it works great!"

For Birth Control "I am 34 years old. I have 2 children, one is 8 and one is 6. I switched to this birth control from Ortho. I got pregnant on this pill. I had to have an abortion because I am not able to have another baby. I was 6 weeks pregnant. I took this pill every day, I never skipped one pill. This has put me in a depression, and now I can’t get out of it."

For Birth Control "I was a huge fan of Trinessa. I was on it for a year and a half with no issues and no side effects. I stopped taking it for about 6 months because I was no longer in a relationship and just wanted to see if anything changed (weight, skin, mood) if I got off the pill. I decided to start taking it again just to keep my periods more regular and because I forgot how terrible my cramps are without birth control. I went to my pharmacy and got a refill and noticed they discontinued Trinessa and was given this Tri-Sprintec stuff instead. I’m almost at the end of my second week taking it, and it is terrible, nothing like Trinessa. I’ve had weird stabbing pains in my left breast, I’m tired 24/7, my anxiety has been awful, I’ve had no appetite, and my stomach has constantly been upset, and I’m so depressed that I barely want to get out of bed. If you were previously on Trinessa and liked it, do not get this. I’m going to have to try and find a better Trinessa equivalent now."

For Acne "I was prescribed this Tri-Sprintec birth control for my acne. The first month was wonderful, it got rid of all my acne and evened out my skin tone, and for the first time in years, I had clear skin. I thought it would be like this for the next month, but I was wrong. I’m currently on the second round of pills, and my skin broke out horribly with extremely painful cystic acne around my chin, jaw, and nose area. It has been like this the entire month. I am about to finish this pack in a couple of days and hoping my skin calms down with the third round of pills. I spoke to my doctor, and she recommended finishing the third round of pills to see if my acne calms down to see whether or not to prescribe me to another brand."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Sprintec for 2 months, and it completely cleared my cystic acne. I had terrible, terrible acne for about 7 years before that, and it completely scarred my cheeks. It even seemed to help with the scars a bit. I also lost a bit of weight on this pill. The only problem I had was that I would get a 2-day migraine on the first pack of pills. I switched and realized the headaches were a lot better than the other medicine, so I am now switching back to Tri-Sprintec. This is by far the best birth control I've been on."

For Birth Control "I had been on Tri-Sprintec for about a year and a half to prevent pregnancy. A few months after starting to take it, I began to gain weight and became severely depressed. I would cry at every little thing, and my period cramps were worse than they were before. I couldn't sleep and had no sex drive. It didn't even occur to me that these changes were due to my birth control until I finally went to the doctor, who told me that sounds like symptoms of Tri-Sprintec. I just got an IUD placed, and I have never felt better, I have my personality back."

"I haven't necessarily experienced any adverse physical changes since I started taking this pill. No weight gain, no change in acne, my breasts are still the same size... However, I have transformed into a complete grouch. Although no one seems to notice, other than myself, I have been an emotional wreck. One minute I'm ecstatic, the next minute I'm tempted to rip my boyfriend's head off. I don't recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I was originally put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for my acne, but I couldn't afford it, so I was switched to Tri-Sprintec. Like I said, I was originally put on this for acne, but then my boyfriend and I started having sex, so I was using it for its BC effects too. It has worked WONDERS. My acne has cleared up, I'm not pregnant (you need to take it regularly though! Don't forget!), no mood swings, and my periods are shorter and lighter. However, I didn't experience the GOOD side effects until after 3 months in! I was moody, bloated, and nauseous, but my body needed to get used to it. I encourage you to try and stick it out for a bit if you just started and are feeling that way. Keep up with it, and maybe you'll like it too!"

For Birth Control "I love this brand of birth control! I started taking this brand about 3 1/2 years ago, and it’s helped so much. During that time, I did switch to a different brand to try something else, and it was the worst decision, so I switched right back. My periods are so light and short, which is a plus. It helped clear my skin up right away, but recently it’s been a little worse (I blame that on stress). Only major complaint about the pill is a lack of sex drive. Highly recommend this for birth control."

For Birth Control "I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen 20 years ago. A couple of years back, I was switched to TriNessa, with no issues. Now, both Ortho Tri-Cyclen and TriNessa are no longer being made, so the pharmacy switched me to Tri-Sprintec. I was told that Tri-Sprintec is the exact same formula as TriNessa, and I was very obviously lied to. This medication has caused a red, bumpy rash all over my face. It’s awful. I’ve had to stop taking it. I never had any problems at all with Ortho Tri-Cyclen or TriNessa. Tri-Sprintec is horrible!"

For Ovarian Cysts "My senior year in high school, I gained a lot of weight. We figured out it was all PCOS related. (60 pounds, and I was a varsity athlete, now a high school graduate). I was an emotional wreck from the mood swings I had due to hormone imbalances. Tri-Sprintec was perfect for me. It brought me back to normal, and after only 4 months on the pill, I lost 20 pounds. I became happy me again. My periods returned, skin cleared up, and mood swings ended. Tri-Sprintec, however, significantly increased my sex drive. It was there a little before the PCOS symptoms became noticeable. Then I had no sex drive from PCOS, but since I started it, my sex drive has been pretty high for an 18-year-old. Anyway, I would say if you have PCOS, this pill rocks."

For Acne "Oh my goodness. I am in tears reading these reviews, finally finding out what’s wrong with me. I stopped breastfeeding about 3 months ago, and my skin started to break out from the hormone change, as expected. I called my OB to get back on what I assumed would be my regular BC, Trinessa, but I got this Tri-Sprintec. My face has never been this bad in my entire life. Painful, cystic acne. I’ve gained weight. My mood swings were terrible. I had anxiety through the ROOF. Whatever you do, DO NOT GET ON THIS PILL."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was 17 when I started on this pill because I had cysts on my ovaries. This pill is a good pill and not a bad one like a lot of the women are saying. This pill has the same side effects as all the other pills do. Yes, I gained weight at first, but now I am back to my normal size because my body regulated it. The leaflets say you may not feel well the first 1-3 packs. It's because your body has to regulate it!"
