For Birth Control "I was originally put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for my acne, but I couldn't afford it, so I was switched to Tri-Sprintec. Like I said, I was originally put on this for acne, but then my boyfriend and I started having sex, so I was using it for its BC effects too. It has worked WONDERS. My acne has cleared up, I'm not pregnant (you need to take it regularly though! Don't forget!), no mood swings, and my periods are shorter and lighter. However, I didn't experience the GOOD side effects until after 3 months in! I was moody, bloated, and nauseous, but my body needed to get used to it. I encourage you to try and stick it out for a bit if you just started and are feeling that way. Keep up with it, and maybe you'll like it too!"

For Ovarian Cysts "My senior year in high school, I gained a lot of weight. We figured out it was all PCOS related. (60 pounds, and I was a varsity athlete, now a high school graduate). I was an emotional wreck from the mood swings I had due to hormone imbalances. Tri-Sprintec was perfect for me. It brought me back to normal, and after only 4 months on the pill, I lost 20 pounds. I became happy me again. My periods returned, skin cleared up, and mood swings ended. Tri-Sprintec, however, significantly increased my sex drive. It was there a little before the PCOS symptoms became noticeable. Then I had no sex drive from PCOS, but since I started it, my sex drive has been pretty high for an 18-year-old. Anyway, I would say if you have PCOS, this pill rocks."

For Acne "Oh my goodness. I am in tears reading these reviews, finally finding out what’s wrong with me. I stopped breastfeeding about 3 months ago, and my skin started to break out from the hormone change, as expected. I called my OB to get back on what I assumed would be my regular BC, Trinessa, but I got this Tri-Sprintec. My face has never been this bad in my entire life. Painful, cystic acne. I’ve gained weight. My mood swings were terrible. I had anxiety through the ROOF. Whatever you do, DO NOT GET ON THIS PILL."

For Acne "I started taking birth control mainly for acne. I've had severe body acne since I was a teen. It's been so bad that I've been embarrassed to wear clothes that even expose my shoulders since my skin resembles a Dalmatian. I'm 22 now, and I've tried all sorts of treatments, including head and shoulders, zinc supplements, ointments galore, and salicylic acid. None had a lasting change. Then finally, I went on birth control for the first time. Wow. At last. I am on week 3. No new acne, anywhere. My skin is even less oily, red, and irritated. As a bonus, my breasts seem fuller! I haven't had any mood swings, bloating, or cramps. (I was very worried about that before). Just exercise and stay positive!"

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill two months before I was supposed to get married. I've never been on birth control before this. It made my boobs enormous, but it also made me into a psycho. This pill has made me very emotional."

For Birth Control "I started taking Tri-Sprintec because my insurance no longer covered the brand name Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and it was the worst experience ever. I immediately broke out, and my periods got worse. I started to experience mood swings and worse cramps. I stuck with it hoping it would get better, but it never did. I would not recommend Tri-Sprintec or Sprintec to anyone, both of these made my life a living nightmare."

For Birth Control "I was cautious in the beginning to not read women's reviews of Tri-Sprintec because I wanted to begin the experience with a fresh mind. I've only been on Tri-Sprintec for two months (just beginning pack #3), and although my doctor said it could take up to 3 packs to 'adjust,' I am not continuing with these synthetic hormones. I began taking this pill for a heavy period and cramps-neither were relieved. In fact, I was spotting for the week before my periods and a little after, too. I never get headaches, and on this pill, I had a consistent dull throbbing pain in my head. I lost my appetite for weeks at the beginning. The worst side effect is my moods-I feel completely flat. As someone who typically is energized and excited (sometimes anxious too) about life, this pill was not for me. It stunted my personality. I threw my pack away today, and I will continue seeking alternative solutions to painful periods because I'd rather have painful periods than feel this emotional numbness."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "It's effective in the sense that it has done its job well, it prevented pregnancy, but I absolutely hate it. I switched over from Tricyclen due to its cost, but honestly, I'm planning on switching back. Severe cramps, headaches, and mood swings galore. The worst part of it all? I have been in my period for THREE WEEKS. It's ridiculous, I've never had issues with any other birth control. My regular period usually lasted 4 days maximum, compare that to constant bleeding for almost a month now. No thanks. Do not recommend this for anyone."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control! I was on it for two years and had no major problems at all! I went off of it and tried another birth control, and I hated it and went back on Tri-Sprintec! So this is what I can say while being on this pill: I have received my normal period every month on time, my periods are lighter, and I have less cramps. My boobs always feel fuller when I am on this pill and look perkier! My acne has really disappeared while on this birth control, so it definitely stabilizes my hormones in that way. My weight has been pretty consistent. The first month going on it, I was a little more emotional, but nothing crazy. The only true downside is my sexual urges did decrease, I still get in the mood, but I definitely saw a difference when I went on the pill. Overall, I highly recommend it!"

For Birth Control "I just want to point out that every girl experiences different things with all types of birth control. About the pill Tri-Sprintec, I've been on it for over a year, and it's been great. I'm 19, and I got on it because my fiancé and I became sexually active. I never had a regular period, and this fixed it right up. It also got rid of my acne. I actually lost weight and went from 115 to 107. I have not gotten pregnant, and I don't have mood swings. I do get a sweet tooth and a salt tooth sometimes. Before I start my period, my breasts get tender, and I get emotional, but once I begin bleeding, both are gone. I do want to say that if you catch yourself craving more food, just get some gum."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control at 18 years old, I am now 25. I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for about 5 years, did great on it. Due to insurance, I had to switch to Trinessa, heavier periods and more mood swings followed. Now the pharmacy gave me Tri-Sprintec because they don't carry Trinessa. I am on day 8 and am getting more nauseous by the day. The pharmacist assured me that Trinessa and Tri-Sprintec are the exact same medicines, just made by two different manufacturers, but I have never felt so nauseous in my life. I know pregnancy is not even a consideration because my period just ended the week I started taking Tri-Sprintec. I will be switching back to Trinessa next month, no matter the cost! Hope this helps someone with a similar situation!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I just finished my three packs. Horrible to say the least, but does its job of avoiding pregnancy. If I don't eat before taking the pill, I'm nauseous and vomiting for the next three days. The first month, my period was on time and regular. The second month, I had two periods and would bleed after sex. And this third month has been pretty much continuous bleeding to the point I don't have sex with my boyfriend at all. My periods used to be pretty light and last 4-5 days. Now they're extremely light to the point I hardly have to use a panty liner, and I mostly bleed when I use the bathroom, but it's all day, every day. I'm also moody, cranky, and tired all the time. I'm so done with this birth control and am changing. Do not recommend to anyone."

For Birth Control "I am quitting this birth control immediately. I took Tri-Lo-Marzia for a month before I was switched to this for insurance. Both pills diminished my sex drive to where I almost never want it. Which is insane because before the pill I would want sex 4-5 times a week. Strangely enough, it has also made it incredibly difficult for me to get wet or orgasm... which I can't believe is even a thing. I've probably orgasmed once since taking it. After taking this pill, my face broke out so bad. I'm getting pimples in places I never thought I could. I just woke up with a pimple by my ear. This pill has made me very emotional. I have probably cried 10 times this month for the most stupid reasons. This pill has me fed up with birth control. It's not worth taking birth control if it's going to absolutely kill my sex drive and screw with my head and relationship. My review honestly sounds exaggerated, but this pill literally did all of those things to me."

For Birth Control "I'm 19, and started taking this pill because my boyfriend and I are pretty active and we use protection, but aren't necessarily fans of it. My doctor had advised me to continue using protection for at least the first month that I started the pill, and we did. I've been on the pill for almost 4 months now; no condom, no baby! The first month, I was an emotional wreck and completely lost my appetite. Now, I'm perfectly normal, haven't gained/lost any weight, my cramps are worse than ever the first 2 days of my period each month, my period still lasts a week but it's lighter, my libido has lowered, and I randomly get slight acne (I haven't had acne since I was 13 and I know it's the pill). Other than that, this pill fulfills its purpose and I'm very satisfied :)."

For Birth Control "Started the Tri-Sprintec pill about 3 months ago, and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I should’ve listened to the reviews. I experienced horrible anxiety, my depression has been at an extreme low, crazy nervous sweats, nausea, loss of appetite, and last but not least, the mood swings. I’m usually a pretty chill person, aka not usually moody. So this was different for me. These pills really messed me up. That’s my honest review."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for about 7-8 months now. I started after my second pregnancy (obviously to avoid a third) and kept putting off what I was feeling because I felt my emotions were related to postpartum, they most certainly were/are not. This pill causes hormonal disaster. I am cranky, quick to argue with my husband, have zero sex drive whatsoever, and cry over a messed-up order of huevos rancheros. I talked to my doctor about it, and she recommended switching pills because Tri-Sprintec is known for its side effects. I just want my body/mind back. This drug should not be marketed."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 3 months, and for me, I only get pimples during the period week. I have gained weight, but only 8 lbs throughout the whole 3 months, and I have a very high sex drive during the second week. The week before my period, I am doing good, but the last 2 days, I get mood swings and cravings for food. Personally, I don't get headaches, cramps, or pain. Also, I have a light flow now, I used to have to have a VERY heavy flow."

For Birth Control "I've waited out the three-month wait time of absolute hell. Since starting Tri-Sprintec, my anxiety is through the roof, which exacerbates my depression to the point of me having suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I can't wait to see my doctor and switch to a new pill. At 25 years old, my acne had subsided from the teenage years, but since I was started on Tri-Sprintec, it has come back. I thought maybe it would just come and go around the time of my period. Nope. Still here and even more coming in. I feel like I am back to being a teenager again with this acne and crazy mood swings. I am crying over anything and everything. Maybe these side effects will go away in more time, but I can't handle this any longer to find out."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control for a little over two years now. It's been great overall, but lately, I've been extremely depressed for absolutely no reason, and my mood swings have been terrible (I go from contemplating killing someone to crying in a matter of seconds) and felt like I lost the need to live until I started thinking, maybe it's my birth control? It's like, I know that's the cause of all of this. I can't wait to get it out of my system for good."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for four years now. It's the only pill I have ever been on. I truly love it, to say the least! No weight gains, just a few mood swings around my period, but that's about it. I would highly recommend it, I think its effects vary from person to person. My doctor told me before she put me on it that pills do not make you gain weight, however, the hormones in it may cause you to get hungry more often, and that's why people gain weight. Just watch what you eat and exercise regularly, you will be fine!"

For Acne "This birth control is the second brand I used, and I love it in comparison to the other one (Aubra) I used! Aubra made my acne worse and gave me horrible mood swings. I honestly thought I was becoming another person. Switching to Tri-Sprintec was a decision I do not regret. This medicine works like a charm! Cleared up acne, lessened my PMS, and so far no mood swings! Gained no weight, but make sure to exercise a normal amount a week and watch your diet while on this pill!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Tri-Sprintec because I was having extremely long periods that lasted up to a month. It stopped my period immediately, and I only had abnormal bleeding outside of the placebo week during the first month that I used it. However, I really don't believe that it's worth the side effects. I started getting acne when my skin has always been very clear. My skin has become incredibly sensitive to new products (and even some products that I've used for over a year with no issue). My periods have become regular, but I now get intense cramping during the whole week. Worst of all, though, is that I have become severely emotionally unstable. In between the depression spells and intense anger, I become manic. I am a teenager, and I've gotten mood swings before, but never like this. It's almost unbearable. I plan on talking to my doctor soon so that I can find a different pill that works better for my needs."

For Birth Control "It took me a while before I was able to find a BC that really worked for me. I had taken one that was supposed to give me 4 periods a year, but instead I ended up spotting every day and having mood swings. Then I tried the Depo shot (which I loved), but my mom was extremely terrified of what it might do to me because of the bad experience she had with it. I got off because of her. So, I decided to get back on the very first one that I was on, which was Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, but my doctor told me about Tri-Sprintec and how relatively cheaper it was compared to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and how it does the same thing (it’s the generic brand of Ortho). Let me say, it has been the best birth control that I have ever taken! I don’t ever have side effects. It’s like everything is normal and it’s doing its job. It actually shocked me when I saw there were people who were having horrible experiences with this BC, but everyone’s body is different. It’s extremely cost effective and works like a charm on my end."

For Birth Control "I started using Tri-Sprintec about 5 months ago. Let me tell you that it does its job, I have had unprotected sex multiple times, and so far, so good. I have noticed a couple of side effects, which are weight gain, nausea, and mood swings. My weight gain doesn't really bother me. I'm already a tad chubby, but what I like is that it is going to my hips! The biggest downfall is the nausea. Gosh, it really gets to me. It is always in the first week of the pill, I don't know what it is, but out of the 5 months, I've thrown up at least twice that I remember. After the first week, the nausea goes away and is not as strong. Finally, the mood swings. I am already emotional as it is, so this pill gets to me! At first, I would find myself getting upset more than usual and getting overworked more than usual. But now, my body is getting used to it, and it is not as bad. Every girl is different, so the side effects are not all going to be the same, but I hope my review helps somebody!!!"
