For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for a little over a month for heavy periods/bad cramps. I've had the worst headaches (don't remember the last time I had a headache before being on this), upper back pain, stomach cramps (not on my period), and I've been exhausted. It does work well to help my periods, though."

For Birth Control "While my periods were consistently on time and my skin cleared up, this pill made me feel stressed, depressed, and 'crazy' all of the time. It also caused me headaches, migraines, and a general unwell feeling."

For Birth Control "This pill wasn't bad at first, helped my periods, only bled through once, some headaches right before my period, helped the little bit of acne I had, and nauseous every now and then. I felt good after my body got used to it after 4 months. But now I am super anxious all the time, hard to sleep because of the anxiousness, very paranoid, and just ready to cry because I'm so overwhelmed it seems. Generally a happy person, but the anxiety it has caused me is awful. Going to try another pill, hopefully much better than being anxious."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 5 years now, it's the only one I have ever tried, and I'm sticking to it! It has completely prevented any pregnancies, and I never had one negative side effect. I've never had any mood swings, depression, headaches, nausea, breast soreness, or anything. This drug hasn't affected my personality or body at all. Occasionally, I get mild period cramps, but nothing worse than the norm... you can't escape all the blessings of being a girl!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I started taking these pills 2 weeks ago. I took it on a Tuesday, a week before my original period would come. I noticed I was getting horrible headaches, but I brushed it off because my period had come June 23rd, so I thought that was the reason for the headaches. But today is June 30th, and I’m still bleeding heavily and cramping like crazy. My period was normal before taking these pills, it would last 4 days and cramps the first 2 days, but that’s it. I think these pills cause those horrible headaches and this prolonged bleeding. I’m seriously soaking through my pads still after 8 full days. I honestly believe it’s the pills, which I’m not gonna take anymore. I would not take this medication, try another birth control brand."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this birth control at all! It made me extremely depressed, I would cry over everything and be upset every day. I would cry, and half of the time I wouldn’t even know why. I was tired all the time, I didn’t want to do anything but stay home in bed all day. It made my appetite change a lot. I’m a small girl, but I eat a lot, and once I got on this pill, I barely had an appetite. Half of the time, the smell of the food made me nauseous, so this caused me to lose a lot of weight! It also gave me really bad headaches almost every day. When I made the decision to get off of it, I immediately started to feel so much better and started to eat a lot more, and now I barely get headaches, and I'm back to my happy self. I’m not depressed anymore."

For Ovarian Cysts "Been taking Tri-Sprintec for 3 weeks now. Week one was a breeze. For the other 2 weeks, here’s what I’ve experienced thus far: headaches, a little bit of nausea, sore boobs, and a bigger appetite, and I gained 5 pounds (I’m skinny, so I don’t mind it). I haven’t had any bad breakouts, no mood swings, nothing crazy. I don’t really enjoy the headaches and nausea, but I haven’t experienced anything CRAZY."

For Birth Control "I normally take Tri-Linyah, but my pharmacy was out, so they gave me this because it is generic for it. I've been on it for less than a week, and my emotions are all over the place. All I do is want to cry, my anxiety is crazy high, and I am depressed. Low sex drive, headaches, horrible nausea. I have even experienced vaginal dryness. Very irritable and horrible mood swings. I've never had any of these issues before. I know medicine affects people differently, but I will not be taking this medicine anymore."

For Birth Control "I tried taking this birth control for 4 days right before bed. I noticed I was waking up unable to eat and nauseated. I work out 6 days a week and couldn’t afford to not keep eating, so I stopped taking it. The next morning, no nausea and no symptoms. I called my doc and told her to switch me, and she told me to take it with a full meal. As soon as I took it, I started to feel nauseated and went to bed. All throughout the night, I was cramping and having nausea like I had the stomach flu. I couldn’t sleep, and my nausea was some of the worst I’ve had. I just got up this morning and have puked a few times along with having bad diarrhea. Not to mention, a bit after I took it, I had a pounding headache last night. I’m currently sitting here, exhausted from not sleeping and sick to my stomach, having to take care of a child. This birth control is NEVER something I would recommend in a million years."

For Acne "I was on Mononessa for about 5 years, mainly started for acne and also to reduce cramping. Great drug, very sad it was discontinued. Tried Estarylla first because it was 'the same equivalent,' which was not a great experience (BIG mood changes, so tired all the time), so asked to switch to another and got Sprintec. In the first month, I didn't really notice any bad effects, but I'm currently in the second month, and boy, CYSTIC ACNE all over my cheeks. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something, but my routine didn't change, only this drug. I'm so glad I found this site and people's experiences to back up my hunch! So I've been having awful breakouts, gained some weight, and the amount of headaches has increased (I almost feel 'foggy' overall, not sure if anyone else has experienced that too). My periods before birth control were easier than this, quitting when this cycle ends. TL,DR: Cystic acne on cheeks, acne galore, increased headaches, weight gain."

For Birth Control "I feel sorry for all of the bad experiences on here, but I love Tri-Sprintec! I was on it for 6 years until my doctor switched me to the mini pill to help my migraines. The mini pill didn't agree with me, and I switched back to Tri-Sprintec after just 3 months. On Tri-Sprintec, I have regular periods, no cramping, my acne clears up, and I love that I have more wiggle room with late or missed pills without loss of protection. The only cons are headaches, but I’ve had migraines all my life, and to be honest, I’d rather have migraines than cystic acne. I’m on a mood stabilizer for depression, so I don’t notice any ‘extra’ depression or hormone irregularity other than being a little emotional right before my period starts. It does make me kind of hyper/antsy, so I’d recommend taking it in the morning or before regular workouts. Hope this review helps!"

For Birth Control "This medicine is horrible. I used to take Trinessa for several years, but my pharmacy switched me to this one. It gives me constant mood swings and unbearable headaches. It might be effective birth control because you won’t be able to have sex at all."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control for about 3 weeks already, and I've been experiencing diarrhea, headaches, I feel like I'm itchy everywhere, especially down there, and it's either really moist or really dry in my vaginal area, and it won't stop itching, so I'm going to stop taking it."

For Birth Control "Absolutely the worst birth control! Made me moody all the time, like I’m on my period every day. I had cramps and a headache all the time. My family and my coworkers could not figure out why I was so anxious and annoyed all the time. I had real anxiety that was growing into depression. Once I stopped using it, I felt so relieved, like I just got rid of a huge burden. I felt normal again. I know they say that all these generic birth controls of this type are the same regardless of the brand. Well, I can tell you they are not! While on TriNessa, I didn’t get any side effects. Then they terminated it and switched me to this one. I asked for a different brand other than Trisprintec, and they gave me Tri Femynor, which also worked great. But they keep running out of it too and keep switching me to Tri-Sprintec, which is always available. They should certainly terminate this brand!"

For Birth Control "It's effective when used correctly. During the first two months, I experienced headaches and slight hair loss around my hairline. I used to go around 40 days between periods, and they lasted 8 or 9 days. I now have 'normal' or predictable periods. My breasts are always tender during the third week, but I've grown at least a cup size, so I'm OK with that. Most importantly, I'm not pregnant."

For Birth Control "Started with bad headaches, then bleeding off period (spotting at first, then heavy bleeding for two weeks), then severe depression (have been crying for four days). I’ve not experienced side effects like this from any drug before. This was the first month I’d taken Tri-Sprintec (have taken Tri-Nessa for three years with zero side effects). My insurance company switched ... really wish they hadn’t."

For Birth Control "When I saw this website and read multiple experiences, I saw that I was and am not alone. I have a wonderful boyfriend who is still putting up with me and my god-awful self for a few months. Although I have only been on Tri-Sprintec for a week, it is one of the hardest weeks of my life. I feel like I have every side effect. For example, I am constantly nauseated and always have a headache. In addition, I literally cry for no reason. My hair is shedding more than it ever has before, and my outlook on life has changed from optimistic to pessimistic."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking Tri-Sprintec because the pharmacy I switched to no longer carried Tri-Previfem. My first month was fine, no changes. However, my second month on the pill, I went through a super tampon! Normally, I barely go through a light. My cramps are horrible, and I have a headache that just won't quit. My libido is also way the hell down from where it used to be. The only good news is my acne is slightly better during PMS. I am completely miserable. After I finish this pack, I am switching."

"Second birth control I've been on, and I've been on it for over a year. It gives me the worst headaches and acne. I put on about 10 lbs and cannot get rid of it. I feel disgusting. My boobs didn't get any bigger. My periods are always right on schedule and never heavy, but the rest of the month is a roller coaster with my emotions, weight, etc."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Tri-Sprintec for a month, and I'm already having severe side effects. Nausea, headaches, acne worse than I've ever had in my life, and the worst, severe anxiety and depression. The second week, I experienced suicidal intrusive thoughts that caused me to go into panic attacks. The only upside for me was that it helped my heavy flow and shortened my period from 6 or 7 days to 4 days. I would much rather live with a long, heavy period than what I went through for a week straight."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for a month, and about a week now, I have been having crazy mood swings that are causing me to not want to do anything, argue with my partner, then be fine 10 minutes later. Very irritable. I will get tired from doing nothing and just want to sleep, sort of like a depression, but I refuse to say I am depressed. I am normally a very happy person, looking to the bright side of everything. Now I just want to cry and sleep. Then come heart palpitations, headaches every day since I have been taking them, feel sick."

For Acne "I’ve had mild to moderate acne since I was 13. I’m 28 now. When I first started this pill, I had pretty bad heartburn and frequent headaches. My skin didn’t really clear up at first, and I thought it wasn’t working that great. I started looking into different pills but wanted to give my body a chance to get used to it, so I stuck with it. Around the fifth month, I finally started seeing a little improvement in my skin. I’m on my eighth month on it now, and my skin is finally clear. I can’t believe I found something that actually worked. I also don’t have heartburn or headaches anymore. I did gain about ten pounds but also was eating bad, so I don’t know if I can attribute that to Tri-Sprintec. I’m so glad I stuck with it!"

For Birth Control "I got on this med due to breakthrough bleeding and periods on my last med (Ortho-Tri-Cyclen). So far, I've had no issues with bleeding. But I've been nauseous every time I take it, with a headache almost daily, more depressed and anxious. I feel angry a lot of the time, and my sex drive is almost completely gone. I get shooting pains through my right ovary and recently took a trip to the ER due to unbearable tearing pains in my ovaries. Needless to say, I'm not going to continue this med. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't suggest this one if you don't want to vomit almost daily."

For Birth Control "As far as a birth control that'll do its job? It's been great so far. Side effects? Where do I start? Mood swings (I mean MAJOR), headaches (non-stop), irritable, tired (24/7), I just don't have much drive to do a whole lot of anything. Hasn't affected my weight or acne situation as far as I've noticed, though. It's definitely put a strain on my relationship. I'm relatively new to taking it, so hopefully, all those little kinks will go away. Fingers crossed!"

For Birth Control "Tri-Sprintec was the worst birth control I have ever used. I gained weight, felt tired all the time, became super nauseous all the time, and had horrible headaches. It causes stomach discomfort and gas. I noticed a huge change and felt better even after stopping in the middle of the pack. I took it for about six months before I decided I had had enough with the horrible side effects that came with it. I also noticed my heart racing at night. My headaches were so bad I couldn’t sleep at night."
