For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "In the beginning, it worked fine. I was switched to it because Ortho Tri-Cyclen was getting costly, and some of the other generics were making me constipated. Joy. Anyway, I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost a year, and it doesn't regulate my periods. In fact, I seem to be getting periods whenever the heck it pleases, and they last forever. My normal cycle is 3 days, and I always knew by Thursday of the sugar pills that it was coming, but this pill just doesn't seem to be working. On top of that, I'm always nauseated, sometimes I get extremely depressed for no reason. I have panic attacks and just feel horrible at the most random times. I can't wait to switch."

For Acne "Worst experience. Never had bad hormonal acne (initially took bc because of bumps on my chin and the side of my mouth), but this made my cheeks break out for months. I break out with hives when I have anxiety attacks - this made it worse. Became extremely angry, violently aggressive, irritable, zombie-like. Cried every day for the past year and a half. I'm young and married, but my libido was DEAD. No sexual desire for my husband. Actually made me feel VERY indifferent towards him. Suffered from severe depression before, and this year it hit me like a truck. No motivation, no energy, no drive. The past month has been the best month in just over a year - my skin somehow is the best it's ever been, and I can slightly control my emotions better. Still get angry and feel my body heat up. Still cry a lot. And still no sexual drive. Just started Microgestin yesterday, so hopefully, it's better than this."

For Birth Control "While my periods were consistently on time and my skin cleared up, this pill made me feel stressed, depressed, and 'crazy' all of the time. It also caused me headaches, migraines, and a general unwell feeling."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have had irregular periods, but recently in May, I had a period for about 3 weeks, and I was tired of it. So I went to the doctor and was told Tri-Sprintec would help. I started taking it at the beginning of June and have been on it for almost a month now. With no luck, I’m still bleeding constantly. I continued the pill to see if the bleeding would eventually stop, but unfortunately, it hasn’t. During the first week, I received loss of appetite, extreme anxiety, night sweats, depression, and nausea, and the side effects still occur. I’m going to finish the pack because hopefully, I’ll receive some luck, but I do not plan to continue this pill after this first pack."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 5 years now, it's the only one I have ever tried, and I'm sticking to it! It has completely prevented any pregnancies, and I never had one negative side effect. I've never had any mood swings, depression, headaches, nausea, breast soreness, or anything. This drug hasn't affected my personality or body at all. Occasionally, I get mild period cramps, but nothing worse than the norm... you can't escape all the blessings of being a girl!"

For Birth Control "I was given Tri-Sprintec after my usual prescription of TriNessa was discontinued. I had the normal side effects such as nausea, cramping, and a change in period the first few weeks, but that was nothing compared to the anxiety and depression it caused the longer I took it. By the end of the second month, I was crying every day and had horrifying intrusive thoughts. I finally had to make an appointment with my doctor, and she told me to stop taking it and gave me an antidepressant to ride out the lingering effects until it leaves my system. 10/10 would not take again. I seriously miss TriNessa."

For Acne "This is my second brand I've tried using this form of birth control. Ever since a month or two after I began this, I've severely been breaking out all over my face, especially on the jawline, the chin, and forehead. I have struggled with mild acne before this, just a few spots here and there, but it has caused me to break out everywhere now, and it is extremely bad. I have tried countless things to try and help this, from everything over the counter and even prescriptions, topical and oral. I have tried EVERYTHING, and it will not go away. It has lengthened my periods from three days to now six and made them heavier, and I never used to have cramps, now I do. I've experienced fatigue and depression from this. Too many negative side effects for me."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this birth control at all! It made me extremely depressed, I would cry over everything and be upset every day. I would cry, and half of the time I wouldn’t even know why. I was tired all the time, I didn’t want to do anything but stay home in bed all day. It made my appetite change a lot. I’m a small girl, but I eat a lot, and once I got on this pill, I barely had an appetite. Half of the time, the smell of the food made me nauseous, so this caused me to lose a lot of weight! It also gave me really bad headaches almost every day. When I made the decision to get off of it, I immediately started to feel so much better and started to eat a lot more, and now I barely get headaches, and I'm back to my happy self. I’m not depressed anymore."

For Birth Control "This pill did horrible things to me. I felt nauseous constantly and experienced severe anxiety. So much so, that I could not leave the house without crying. I was depressed and gained 8 pounds. All of this in less than a few months. I finally went off Tri-Sprintec when I realized that it was causing me these side effects. Absolutely terrifying experience."

For Endometriosis "I had high hopes when starting this pill. I had read some good reviews on its website, and my doctor thought it would work perfectly for me. The first month on it was okay, but I slowly started to become a different person. I had feelings of depression most of the time, I was very pessimistic and had constant mood swings. This pill also made me very analytical. I looked into every little thing and made it seem negative. After six months on this, I cannot stand it anymore and am getting off. I am a completely different person, and I haven't been cheerful in months."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec and switched to Tri-Sprintec to help with minor breakouts I had. Tri-Sprintec gave me the worst cystic acne ever! I waited a month to see if it would get better, but it never did. I also experienced very bad mood swings and depression. It was awful. Listen to the reviews!"

For Birth Control "So I started taking Tri-Sprintec, and the first month wasn’t so great. I was nauseous, and my boobs ached. But I was told after the second or third pack is whenever you shouldn’t have as bad side effects anymore. So I’ve been on it for over a year, and it’s a good contraceptive; have not gotten pregnant, and it has lightened my periods, and I don’t cramp as bad anymore. But by the time I start the third week of the pills, I feel awful. Like very irritable and sad for no reason; which is totally not like me. I don’t feel like myself. So I’m switching to a different birth control pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been taking this for about 5 months and was previously on Trinessa for about 2 years with no complaints. I have started noticing that I am very moody and irritable almost daily and have zero motivation to do anything like going to the gym, going out with friends, or anything. I have also noticed that about a week or 2 before my period, I binge eat anything and everything as if I haven’t eaten in days. And then to top it off, I have zero sex drive now. I just do not have any interest in having sex, and it’s just not something I enjoy anymore. I had the best sex life with my boyfriend, and it’s just gone now. I’m on my last pills now and will not be taking them anymore and will see if anything changes."

For Birth Control "I normally take Tri-Linyah, but my pharmacy was out, so they gave me this because it is generic for it. I've been on it for less than a week, and my emotions are all over the place. All I do is want to cry, my anxiety is crazy high, and I am depressed. Low sex drive, headaches, horrible nausea. I have even experienced vaginal dryness. Very irritable and horrible mood swings. I've never had any of these issues before. I know medicine affects people differently, but I will not be taking this medicine anymore."

For Birth Control "I'm 19 and have been on different birth control pills and also shots. I have been on this for about 3 years now, and it has cleared my face nicely only a couple of months after first starting. Downsides: a week or two before my period, I feel nausea and a little dizzy, also, a couple of pimples do show, and I have sore breasts. In the emotional state, I have been on it for a good amount of time, but I feel it only changes my moods close to the times I'm near my period. I do get very depressed randomly, but again, it could just be a personal thing. Upsides: the clear skin overall, also, I know when my period will come every month. I have not gotten pregnant and have been very sexually active for the last 2 years. Don't plan to switch anytime soon."

For Birth Control "I am going on month 3 of using this birth control, and yes, it works. But it is so not worth it because of the side effects. I already have anxiety, so this birth control has not only made it 10 times worse but has made me extremely depressed and given me insane mood swings that I can only describe as bouts of rage. I have never felt this emotionally unstable in my life. I have also gained around 5-10 pounds. However, this is the cheapest I can get birth control without insurance, so if the side effects don’t end up wearing off, then I will definitely go off of it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for nearly 5 years. As far as preventing pregnancy, it's worked great. It also made my periods lighter. The last week before my placebo week has always kind of made me have mood swings. However, for about the past year, it's unbearable. Every third week of the month, I get severe depression, anxiety is through the roof, which then leads to insomnia and a constant feeling of dread. Nothing has changed in my life that would lead to any of this. I have narrowed it down to the birth control. I'll be switching ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have been taking these birth control pills for over a year and have drastically affected my emotions. I find myself extremely moody all the time and depressed. Definitely changing to another birth control. Very bad experience with these pills. Makes you feel like you are going crazy!"

For Birth Control "I was previously on Tri-Cyclen until they switched me over to Tri-Sprintec. At first, I hadn't noticed a difference between the two, but about a few weeks in, I noticed that I started to feel a lot more nauseous. Now that I am about a month into Tri-Sprintec, I've had about all the symptoms in the book. I have had increased negative mood swings, which have put a big damper on my relationship, almost causing me to lose a person I love over dumb, stupid fights, which are caused by me being very irritable throughout the day. Every night this week, I've cried for no reason, and I constantly feel depressed, and my anxiety has been very bad. My boobs are constantly sore, my discharge smells disgusting, I can barely eat, and I'm always angry. Do not use!"

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and I had been on Tri-Sprintec for about 5-6 months and never really thought about it giving me major side effects. I had previously been on Levora for 5 years with the purpose of getting rid of major cramps. After 5 years, my cramps began to come back, so I switched to this one without any precaution. Long story short, I ended up in the suicide ward because I was having major thoughts about suicide (which I NEVER have even thought of), along with major depression, and my anxiety level increased drastically. So be careful and change your pills if you need to."

For Birth Control "I can't believe it took me this long to realize my birth control might be the culprit! I had been on Ortho and TriNessa until it was discontinued. I was put on Tri-Sprintec after I stopped breastfeeding my son for a year, and ever since I was put back on birth control, I thought I had been losing my mind! Severe mood swings, high anxiety, and depression. Let's just say my sex drive is non-existent! It has been bothering me for a year, and I finally thought to myself to look into the side effects of Tri-Sprintec, and WOW! We are all in the same boat. I scheduled my appointment to look at other options! Thank you all for sharing your story."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for just over 3 months, and I am having the WORST side effects. My hair has been falling out constantly, my mood swings are absolutely insane, I have no sex drive, my anxiety has been through the roof, and I feel very depressed (I also feel very bad for my husband trying to deal with me like this). I finally just had to stop taking it!"

For Acne "1) Cleared my skin up within 4 months. Still occasional problem spots around the time of my period, but it's a joke compared to what I used to have to put up with. 2) POTENTIALLY IMPORTANT: When I got to the last week of hormonal pills (the super-strength hormone-loaded ones before the week of placebos) for the first 5ish months on the pill, I found that I would be prone to existential emotional breakdowns or feel more anxious/depressed than usual that week. I didn't notice the correlation for an embarrassing amount of time. I was very relieved when I did figure it out, and I wish I had figured it out sooner. Now that I've been on it for a year, this problem has almost disappeared. Just something to be aware of for the first few months!"

For Birth Control "I switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen to Tri-Sprintec because I was told that it's just the generic form of Ortho and that there's no difference between the two. I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for about 4 months, and for about 3 of those months, I've had HORRIBLE anxiety and depression. I've been having panic attacks and a really bad tight feeling in my chest. I went to the doctor, not even thinking about it being my birth control because it was just a switch to the generic brand, so I didn't list that as a difference in medications, and I really wish I would have because that's the only thing in the past 4 months that has changed. I went to the doctor because my panic attacks were getting worse, and I started having them at work. I felt like I was going to pass out. I've never been on any prescription besides birth control. I realized that during the placebo pills, I felt a little better. Once I started my pack again, it got worse. I'm not taking another pill until I have Ortho Tri-Cyclen back."

For Birth Control "While Tri-Sprintec is effective at preventing an unwanted pregnancy, it has the worst side effects I have ever experienced on a birth control pill. I've only been on it for a little over a week and I have to stop using it. It has given me excruciating stomach aches, nausea, fatigue, migraines, and worst of all, it is aggravating my anxiety levels. I feel like I'm on the verge of having a major panic attack since I started taking this awful pill. Not only is my anxiety getting out of control, but I also feel depressed and uninterested in everything. All I want to do is sleep. I wish my stupid insurance covered Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, that has been the best pill so far. I don't recommend Tri-Sprintec to anyone."
