For Birth Control "I had been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 3 years just for my acne. It helped a whole lot, I’ve recently gotten off the pill (it’s been like 3 months) and have been experiencing depression, pain in my lower abdomen, constant UTI pain, and getting a whole lot of vaginal discharge causing irritation. Also, my periods had always been normal, even before the pill, but now I’m only having 1-3 days of period but hurt like heck on the first day, worse than what I would get when I wasn't on the pill. I’ve literally felt like my body was giving up and I was going crazy! Finally, I went to my doctor, and she told me, 'You are not crazy, Tri-Sprintec is a very hard pill to get off of.' I will not be getting back on any birth control."

For Acne "I always had acne around periods, but after I had my son, it got severe. So much so that it left scars from inflammation that would make one zit into a pea-sized bump deep under my skin that was painful and caused anxiety, depression, and so on. After seeing a dermatologist, he prescribed a combo of 3 to combat it. The Tri-Sprintec to regulate hormones, a light topical antibiotic lotion, clindamycin, I think, and a year of doxycycline antibiotics. It took time, but after the antibiotics took care of the infection with this pill, it seemed to prevent acne. My reason for thinking this is the only time it's gotten bad again is after running out and going a month without or an occasional pimple during the placebo week. Overall, it helped a great deal..."

"I'm into my second month of Tri-Sprintec, and I'm always moody, depressed, nauseous, and crying for no reason. My relationship has gone downhill, and I easily get upset. I used to be a cheerful person, but lately, I don't even smile anymore. I started out on Ortho Tri-Cyclen and only switched to Tri-Sprintec at Wal-Mart because it's $9 there and $29 at Publix. I'm ready to go back to Depo, but I read it causes calcium decrease. Just not sure anymore about these birth control methods."

For Birth Control "Don't take that pill. I gained a lot of weight. I got depressed and had anxiety. I always wanted to eat... I took it for only one month, and now I have like 4 days without that pill, and I feel like I'm gaining more and more weight (I'm eating so well, I go to the gym every day...)"

For Acne "BEWARE, and know what may be coming if you use this long-term. I started in high school and remained on this pill for five years, and after the initial first three months of a nightmarish life (crying all the time, moody, suicidal), this pill worked beautifully for me. I had no acne, I never got pregnant (although I was having unprotected sex), I had no lowered sex drive, and I could function perfectly. Little to no negative side effects after the initial horrible ones. However, five years later when I stopped taking this pill, I had a complete mental breakdown. Any semblance of stability and respect I had for myself was gone, and I was no longer a rational person. It was very scary, and I truthfully feel like this pill made it so I was not myself after a while."

"I have absolutely no complaints. I switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to Tri-Sprintec, and I prefer Tri-Sprintec. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for three months and experienced a great deal of emotional fluctuations, as well as mild depression, and semi-heavy periods. I just completed one month of Tri-Sprintec, and it has been completely normal and a lighter period. I was scared to switch because of all the reviews I read about Tri-Sprintec, but I'm so happy I did."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Originally, I was prescribed Tri-Nessa, and in about November, it was either discontinued or Walgreens stopped providing it, but I was put on Tri-Sprintec and told there would be no “adjustment” period and shouldn’t feel any different starting these pills. Instead, I felt extremely depressed the first two months, my periods became irregular, and I was constantly extremely tired and moody but couldn’t sleep. The doctor told me to stop taking it or ride it out, and I decided to continue taking it. Month 4, I have been on my period going on three weeks now."

"I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 4 years, it works well to avoid pregnancy and regulate my period, but I've gained almost 20 lbs, and I have spurts of intense anger and sadness. Sometimes I'm really hungry, and other times I can't eat a thing without feeling sick and bloated. Sex is usually painful, but my sex drive has escalated greatly, especially the week after my period."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 4 years. The side effects were pretty bad. I'd get migraines. I'd cry a lot. I became paranoid about things. Had severe anxiety. Was depressed a lot. Pretty much things that I never felt before until I got on this pill. Very effective in preventing pregnancy, but would otherwise not recommend."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had intense period cramps and always had heavy periods that would last 3-5 days. The Tri-Sprintec helped with cramps, and I have been on this medication for almost two years now. I have no sex drive and mild depression, along with bad weight gain, and I play soccer and run 3.5K almost every practice, still couldn't lose weight. And the main reason I got it was to help with cramps and the chance of cysts on ovaries. Now it doesn't help with cramps anymore, and I'm not happy, I'm switching to the Kyleena implant. Overall, it was an okay method, I never used it for actual birth control, so no idea if it works effectively that way."

For Acne "I'm 22, I have very sensitive skin and stomach. I started this pill in September, and it's now mid-December. The first month, I had nausea, the second month, I had various digestive issues (slightly worse than usual), and now in the third full month, I am having breakouts. The nausea and the stomach issues have cleared up, so I'm holding out for the acne to clear up. Meanwhile, my breasts have grown two inches! The side effects aren't so bad, and the acne I have now isn't much worse than what I had before. Some people say they've experienced mood swings, depression, or change in sex drive, but I haven't noticed that at all."

For Acne "I was on this pill for 3 or 4 years before I realized that it made me depressed. I wasn't necessarily a ball of darkness, but I had a small gray rain cloud always hanging over me. Also, I've steadily gained 5 pounds each year I was on this pill-Not sure if it is completely due to the pill or the depression since I haven't changed my eating and exercise habits over the years. This pill was subpar for acne control compared to past birth control pills I've been on (they had higher estrogen). This pill wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best for me."

For Acne "HORRIBLE!! I swear this ruined my relationship because it made me so crazy. The depression I experienced on this pill was unreal. I normally break out a little bit here and there on my cheeks, and this pill made my skin absolutely AWFUL! My once totally clear and smooth forehead was covered in blackheads and cystic pimples. It also gave me cystic acne around my mouth and chin and some big red pustules on my cheeks. This pill literally ruined my life."

"I have only been on Tri-Sprintec for 20 days now, so I am trying to give it a little longer, as I know it takes a while for your body to regulate it. However, it is very hard. I went from being very happy to depressed and moody within a week of starting it. I now have very little patience, which makes me feel terrible, especially because I have a dog and work with children, and I want to be patient with them. I also have had an increase in acne since starting it. Painful cramps (which is why this was prescribed to me in the first place-to eliminate cramps) and weight gain. The worst part is that I have had a full period for 20 days straight, not just spotting. This pill is negatively affecting my life and my relationship. I hate it."

For Birth Control "I took Tri-Sprintec for a year and then got off, and then got back on a month ago. A year when I took this, I started to realize that this drug was making me depressed. It did a very good job of not getting me pregnant, though. I got off because of the depression, and now back on months later, I feel okay, and I’m supposed to get my period today, so please wish me luck."

For Birth Control "I was put on this BC to prevent pregnancy. I guess I should preface this review by saying I was off hormonal BC for almost 4 years, so my reaction could have been, in part, due to that fact. I was only able to take this BC for 4 days. The first thing I noticed was the nausea and the ill feeling I had throughout the whole day. I couldn't eat, my appetite decreased a lot. It made my anxiety 3x worse, and it also made me depressed to the point where it was getting crippling, and I couldn't go through the day without feeling like I needed to cry at the most random times. I read some people saying they had a feeling of dread while taking this BC. I had that too. I had the worst insomnia I've had in my life. Worst BC I've ever taken!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "When using Tri-Sprintec, my first month was okay. I was a little moody, but eventually leveled out. I missed my period for the first month. During my second month, I experienced horrible abnormal bleeding. It first began as spotting, the blood was really dark. I’d think I was done bleeding, then it would start up again. After this, I started to experience heavy bleeding. This cycle went on for about 2 weeks, until I decided to stop taking the pills. I bled on and off for another week until it stopped altogether. I went into depression."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 4+ years. Insurance switched me from TriNessa, which worked fine for me. I've noticed changes in my behavior, like irritability, anxiousness, and depression. I even started taking an antidepressant. I also became anti-social. However, my periods are very regular, with only some bloating and cramps, and I have a good sex drive. Also, no babies! Honestly, I just thought all those mood changes came with age, I'm 32, but it could very well be this birth control now that I see so many reviews with similar experiences. I talked to my doctor about switching, and she recommended Sprintec, which is the same pill throughout the pack. She said Tri-Sprintec is a different pill each week, which means your hormones are changing frequently, hence mood swings. Hopefully, this switch will help me. Please shop around for what works best for you and your body."

For Endometriosis "For treating endometriosis and helping alleviate my painful and heavy-flowing periods, this did the trick. HOWEVER, it made me an absolute monster. My mood swings were out of control. I was either angry or incredibly sad all the time. My depression hit hard, and I had never been more anxious than I was on this medicine. I gained weight on this and lost all of my energy. The worst parts of myself were brought to the forefront on this medicine. I talked to my doctor, and she swiftly changed me to something else, and it was literally like magic when I got off of this. For two months, it felt like I had totally lost it, but once I got off this medicine, I got back to myself. I’m sure this works for some people, but it did not work for me at all."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is a 100% legitimate review because, like everyone else who is looking at these reviews, I was paranoid to take these pills. I had taken them for about a month (I'm on my last 3 pills now for the first pack; this is exactly what I have noticed.) My acne has gotten dramatically better; it's not completely gone, but my face feels smooth for once in my life. I've had severe hormonal acne ever since 6th grade, and I couldn't do anything about it. While taking this pill, I had a small breakout at the start of my period, but it went away reasonably quickly. My breasts have grown, and my figure has become a bit more feminine. I have a more curvy figure. I've experienced no side effects: no weight change or depression."

For Birth Control "The bad reviews are true! I've been on this for over three months now, and I hate it. My boobs swelled up one full size and are constantly tender and sore. I gained about five pounds, and I really feel like it increases bloating and abdominal discomfort because that's what I get immediately after I take my pill. I've also developed a daily headache that starts in the afternoon and lasts until that night. Annoying and probably dangerous. I've grown to hate taking this pill. My anxiety and depression were already bad, but this pill just zaps all my energy and motivation and puts me in extremely bad moods that affect my relationships. I'm going to ask to be switched to a low-dose pill or go back to Paragard."

"I'm 15 years old and took this to regulate my period, and so far, it has worked. I can't exactly say if it's 'good' as this is my first birth control pill. I do have to say that in the first month, I gained 5 pounds and haven't been able to lose it despite a lot of running and gym time. No nausea or fatigue, everything seems pretty normal. The only problem is mood swings. I have regularly been sad and depressed, crying all the time and not in a good mood. I feel like overall it was a good pill, but these mood problems are really starting to affect everything (school grades, friendships, and boys). Really hoping it ends soon!"

For Acne "WORST BIRTH CONTROL EVER. After 3-4 months on this medication, I developed severe nausea, vomiting, mood swings, bad anxiety, and depression. Every day I would wake up with the worst stomach cramps and was constantly constipated. I also felt so exhausted every day. I quit shortly after the symptoms came up, and it's been 3 months since I quit, and I'm still struggling and not myself. Please do not take this. The only positives were it cleared up my face slightly, and my breasts became bigger."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 3 years now. It was pretty bad for months after starting this pill. I had mood swings, I had moments where I felt depressed. I changed for a few months to the patch and Depo. I liked the patch, which I lost weight on, but I constantly worried it would fall off, and the adhesive gave me a rash. Depo made me way too emotional and hungry. I gained weight on the pill, but I'm not sure if it was because of the pill or because I started college. I have lost some of the weight since. I love that my periods are predictable and regular as well as short. I still get a few cramps and acne, but that only happens the day before my period. I no longer feel depressed or have crazy mood swings."
