For Birth Control "Bad, bad, bad. I have taken this pill for 9 months now, my acne has gotten worse, I have gained about 15 pounds, my cramps are worse, and I'm very emotional. My boobs hurt all the time, my sex drive has lowered, and after I finish my 7-day period, I have 6-7 days of spotting. And my cycle is all messed up."

For Birth Control "I just started taking Tri-Sprintec after my last period, and I'm now on the week of placebo pills. I was really worried that I was going to have all the terrible side effects everyone mentions. So far, I have had no negative side effects, aside from some spotting during the third week of pills that got heavier the closer I got to the placebo pills week. I've had no weight gain, no nausea, no mood swings, and the best part is I don't have near the cramps I used to. My acne is a little bit better, but I read that it may take a few months for it to help my skin. I also read that the breakthrough bleeding is normal when you first start taking any form of birth control, so I'm going to continue taking it and hope that it decreases with time."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 3 years, and my experience was very clear skin, super light periods, and little to no weight gain. I’ve been off the pill for 6 months now, and my skin is slightly less clear, I’ve gained weight, and have worse cramps than I did while on the pill. The cons I experienced while taking this were irritability, feelings of insecurity and self-doubt, and overall inability to control my emotions. However, if you have emotional side effects from these hormones, it’s important to remember what’s causing them. You’re not crazy, it’s your hormonal birth control. I’ve decided to get back on this pill, as it seems the pros very much outweigh the cons. I would definitely give this one a try to see if it’s right for you!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for only one month. It was okay until I started my period - worst thing ever. I have really bad cramps, and my period is super heavy. I have to put three pads on together so I won't get stained, and I feel very uncomfortable."

For Birth Control "I had been on Trinessa since I was 19 and am now 23. I was switched to Tri-Sprintec because my pharmacy only carried that for generic. I figured I'd give it a try since the hormone levels were the same as Trinessa, and I had no problems whatsoever on Trinessa. Well, for the last 6 months, I've been excessively irritable, and I've never cried so much in my life. My already C cups have gone up to a DD. I have absolutely no sex drive, and it's starting to affect my relationship. I don't want to do anything anymore but sit on the couch and sleep. I also have been getting really bad cramps and abdominal pains, not just during my period but all the time! I'm switching back."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 3 months now, and the first month was okay even though my headaches were bad and having nausea. Before I had been taking this, I was having breast tenderness, but I took a test before, and it said I wasn’t pregnant, and my breasts are still having tenderness to them, and it’s my 3rd month on this kind of birth control. People are saying that your breasts shouldn’t still be feeling like that, so I’m getting worried about that. I’ve been pregnant before, and all my symptoms were breast tenderness and nausea. I don't know if I’m pregnant or what, but I’m sick of feeling like this. My cramps are worse, and my period days are longer but light. I’m having irregular periods now."

For Birth Control "I began taking this 9 months before I got married (at age 19). Immediately, my breasts grew at least a full cup size. I was nauseous at first, but taking it right before bed helped. It went away after 3-4 months. The big problem was that I became more moody. Not drastically, but I was more irritable and cried a lot more. However, for me, the price was worth a little moodiness. (Fiancé agreed). After a year and a half, my husband and I are now trying to get pregnant. Only after going off it, am I realizing how great it was. My acne is back full force (I thought I'd outgrown that!), my breasts hurt way more, and I'm getting nasty period cramps again. Ah, well. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it."

For Birth Control "I am beginning my 3rd month of this pill after being on the Depo shot for 4 years. The first 2 months were okay, except for the migraines the week before my period. They were constant and almost unbearable. My period has been consistent and lighter, but the first month my cramps were excruciating, probably because I hadn't had a period in 4 years. My sex drive has elevated exponentially, and other than the week before my periods, I feel fine. I suffer from PTSD, depression, and anxiety and am on medication to assist with that, so no issues in that department. But I notice that I tend to 'crash' in the afternoons... I absolutely MUST have a nap. I have not had ANY issues with acne, either before starting or while on Tri-Sprintec. As far as weight, the Depo made me gain weight like crazy. This medication has kept my weight consistent so far, but I'd like to see more long-term results. No baby or pregnancy on this pill so far, so the birth control part must be working, haha."

For Birth Control "So, I was taking Tri-Nessa for 3 years and had 0 problems with it. Best birth control pill ever. Anyways, my insurance switched me to Tri-Sprintec, and it has been the worst 6 months ever. I STILL get nauseous after taking it, and I feel that way for hours on end. I get period-like cramps every single day, even when I am not on my cycle. I find myself crying randomly, and my mood swings are outrageous. I have always had clear skin, I never had an issue with acne while growing up, and now I am 25 with a forehead full of acne that I can't get rid of for nothing! Not like all those symptoms weren't enough, I was on a weight loss spree before I was switched and had lost 25 pounds before taking these meds, I literally gained 20 of it back after taking this. I hate this pill and already talked to my doctor two days ago about changing it. Next refill, I am getting something different. Do not take this medication, it is the worst!!!!"

For Birth Control "I’m 18 years old, and I started to obviously prevent pregnancy but also help my acne. My acne definitely had a noticeable change, and so did my boobs (they got bigger, but depending on if you like it or not - it’s a good thing in my opinion) in the first few days, but it did come with bad side effects like cramping, nausea, and diarrhea. In my opinion, the good outweighs the bad because I have severe acne, and I definitely feel more confident. It definitely helped me."

"I have only been on Tri-Sprintec for 20 days now, so I am trying to give it a little longer, as I know it takes a while for your body to regulate it. However, it is very hard. I went from being very happy to depressed and moody within a week of starting it. I now have very little patience, which makes me feel terrible, especially because I have a dog and work with children, and I want to be patient with them. I also have had an increase in acne since starting it. Painful cramps (which is why this was prescribed to me in the first place-to eliminate cramps) and weight gain. The worst part is that I have had a full period for 20 days straight, not just spotting. This pill is negatively affecting my life and my relationship. I hate it."

"The Tri-Sprintec pills have worked great for me when it comes to preventing pregnancy. But my acne has gotten worse, and this makes my periods so much more painful. Before going on the pill, periods were easy for me. Now I can barely get out of bed, and the bleeding is so heavy."

For Birth Control "I thought Tri-Sprintec was working well, until I started my period. I started birth control in order to regulate and lighten my periods, with the hope it would also help with my cramps. Well, these didn't do that. Usually by day 3 (which I'm at), my period is lighter, and I have no cramps. I have cramps, quite heavy bleeding, and I feel like crud. Before, I used Dasetta, which worked wonders, and I had to stop using it because the pharmacy I use doesn't carry it."

"I have been off of birth control for 2 years. Started back on Tri-Sprintec. I have not stopped having nausea. Feel very sad as well. I got in the middle of the pack, breakthrough bleeding, which has turned into a period from hell. Cramping is so bad. No weight gain yet, too sick to eat! This is my first month, though. Good luck."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 4+ years. Insurance switched me from TriNessa, which worked fine for me. I've noticed changes in my behavior, like irritability, anxiousness, and depression. I even started taking an antidepressant. I also became anti-social. However, my periods are very regular, with only some bloating and cramps, and I have a good sex drive. Also, no babies! Honestly, I just thought all those mood changes came with age, I'm 32, but it could very well be this birth control now that I see so many reviews with similar experiences. I talked to my doctor about switching, and she recommended Sprintec, which is the same pill throughout the pack. She said Tri-Sprintec is a different pill each week, which means your hormones are changing frequently, hence mood swings. Hopefully, this switch will help me. Please shop around for what works best for you and your body."

"This was my second experience with birth control, my first experience taking Tri-Sprintec. The first couple of weeks were fine, my breasts got full. But before I was on it for a month, I started to get bad side effects, I had discharge, my vulva got very swollen to the point I could not walk, go to class, or work. It was very painful for me, but at the time, I didn't know that it was the birth control doing it to me, so I kept taking it. Then, two weeks later, I started feeling very nauseous, every time I ate, I'd feel nauseous. I was also having bad cramps, and on top of that, my vulva got swollen again! I stopped the birth control, and it all went away. I want to try a different brand of birth control, but with this experience, I'm very afraid."

"I am 18, and this is my first time taking birth control. I took the pill to be safe for when I go to college and to get rid of my acne and regulate my periods. The first month, I was doing fine: minimum to no weight gain, increase in breast size, but no change to my acne. However, when my period came, I experienced the worst cramps I have ever had! They were so bad I had to call out sick from work since I could not move without being in pain. My period was also a lot heavier, and it was different. I felt extremely nauseous and faint. Not to mention scared because the flow was so heavy. I am now on my second month, and my cramps are worse, and my mood swings are bad."

For Birth Control "This is the thing! It's my 4th year with Tri-Sprintec and it's beautiful. This pill improved my health in so many ways: mentally, acne, cramps, etc. I've tried 3 different mini-pills, this one is the best, and I'm not going to change it. Talk to your doctor about it, maybe do a count of hormones. Good luck!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I started this to help regulate my periods. In the beginning, I'd say maybe the first four were miserable, heavy, and my ovaries hurt really bad. My mood swings were really bad, and now I'm just emotional and cry a lot, which I was never like before! I've gained a lot of weight with it, which I've been really lucky, most BC I've been on hasn't done that! Now I'm going through the process of coming off of it, and my husband and I want to start a family. Your periods will lighten up and get shorter and last a few days!!!! In my case, I've stabilized in areas except that I cry a lot, lol. It's a good BC, it has its ups and downs like they all do!"

For Endometriosis "I’ve apparently had endometriosis since the day my period started - I am now 33 years old. Only in the last year, I’ve had episodes that are untreatable with heat pads or ibuprofen, unbearable 10/10 cramps, hot flashes, and fatigue in the mornings. I was put on combined birth control until it started to fail. I’m now on Tri-Sprintec. I started to get very mild cramps and light periods. It’s been 3 months, and I’m finally past the hives breaking out all over my body. My skin is still sensitive, but it was worth avoiding the unbearable pain, anxiety, and obvious progression of endo."

"I tried Tri-Sprintec as my first birth control. I had the heaviest and most painful periods I've ever had. My period lasted longer than 7 days, heavy bleeding, and horrible cramps. It didn't help my acne at all. I didn't gain weight, but it isn't something I would recommend to others."

"I've been on this pill for over a year now. The first 5-6 months were great. All my problems went away, I had a light, regular cycle, my face was flawless, I didn't bloat, no more back cramps like I used to get, it was great. However, for the next 5 months after the first 5, things went downhill. I don't know if my body is changing, but it just doesn't work for me anymore. My mood changed like crazy, to the point where I was like Jekyll and Hyde when my period came around. I got cramps and bloating, gas, irritability, and everything. So short term, it worked for me...but after about 6 months, not so much anymore. Also, I did not gain any weight from going on this, though my breasts got slightly bigger."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on many different brands in the past 5 years, and thankfully my boyfriend has stood around to experience my different personalities, lol. I recently switched to Tri-Sprintec because I dealt with depression, panic attacks, and anxiety on the other brands. I also struggled with weight gain. I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for about 2 months now, the first week I felt nauseous and cramped, it subsided, and then I had a little spotting for about 2 weeks. My boyfriend has told me my acne cleared so much, and my anger and mood changed positively. He understands that usually it’s the medication that would have triggered things. I also haven’t been having an appetite, which is good in my opinion, on other birth controls, I would binge eat so much and never stop eating. I gained like 70 pounds in the last 2 years, but now I barely crave."

For Birth Control "I loved it. Lost 5 lbs (switched from NuvaRing). Plus it costs less. Also, I used to have horrible periods every month prior to the pill. Now I get a horrible period every other month. For example, I would have a light period, 3 days long, no cramps. Then the next month, I would have a period for 7 days, heavy period, and horrible cramps. I would rather have no period, so I am switching to the shot."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 3 years now. It was pretty bad for months after starting this pill. I had mood swings, I had moments where I felt depressed. I changed for a few months to the patch and Depo. I liked the patch, which I lost weight on, but I constantly worried it would fall off, and the adhesive gave me a rash. Depo made me way too emotional and hungry. I gained weight on the pill, but I'm not sure if it was because of the pill or because I started college. I have lost some of the weight since. I love that my periods are predictable and regular as well as short. I still get a few cramps and acne, but that only happens the day before my period. I no longer feel depressed or have crazy mood swings."
