For Acne "I started Tri-Sprintec about a month and a half ago, and my acne has gotten so bad. I started taking the prescription, and my acne has been the worst and most acne I’ve ever had. I’ve taken Accutane, my acne was fine before that, but after starting Tri-Sprintec, all of it went downhill. The first month, I was cramping and bleeding a lot, even while not on my period!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My doctor put me on this birth control 6 weeks after I had my son. I told him my periods are really heavy and the cramping (no lie) felt like I was having really bad contractions. My appointment was on a Monday, so he told me to take Sunday and Monday together, and I was already on my period for 3 days, so my check-up was a little awkward. He told me it would help with my cramps and lighten/shorten my period. Well, the next day my period was just about gone, and I had no cramping whatsoever."

For Birth Control "I took Tri Nessa for three years and then switched to Tri Sprintec when I moved to a different state. I noticed that I had increased cramping on Tri Sprintec, but otherwise it was relatively the same. It seems as though a lot of the reviews on this site deal with individuals in their first few weeks and months of taking the contraceptive. Although Tri Sprintec may not have been for them, it seems as though the side effects of weight gain and mood swings are most common whenever taking new forms of contraceptive. Taking Tri Sprintec has been a relatively positive experience for me."

For Acne "I'm almost finished with my second month on Tri-Sprintec. First of all, I'd like to say that you cannot judge this drug by the way it works for you in two weeks. You need to take it for at least 3 months in order for your body to adjust to it. (Obviously, if the side effects are too much to bear, stop taking it.) Although it did clear up my acne in the first month, the only negative side effect I've had is a little cramping and headaches throughout the month. I've also heard that the name brand is better, so I'm thinking about trying that for a while."

For Acne "I'm 18 and have been using Tri-Sprintec for the past 4 months mainly to try to get rid of my mild acne. In the first couple of weeks, I was hopeful because I saw my face start to clear up and wasn't experiencing any side effects. However, as I kept taking it, my acne started to flare up again, along with cramps and bloating pretty much all the time, mood swings, and slight weight gain (5 pounds). Since month 2, I started getting cystic acne (which I've never had before) on both my cheeks and especially in my chin area and along my jawline, but my forehead stays almost completely clear. I thought my hormones just needed to get used to the pill, but my skin has continued to get worse. I stopped taking Tri-Sprintec and have already seen improvement in 3 days."

For Acne "I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for over 4 years for my acne and protection against pregnancy, and I would have to say it really helped my acne calm down! Like I used to have horrible cystic acne, and it helped it so much. Also, it does its job, it prevents pregnancy (if used correctly). Some cons would have to be that I experience breast tenderness and occasional cramping, but it isn't horrible. Remember that everyone's body reacts differently."

For Acne "I've been on the pill for a short amount of time, and I'm already thinking of changing it. I've been nauseous, having horrible cramps, extreme appetite (which will probably lead to weight gain), headaches, and the WORST acne! I'm someone who has been struggling with acne, but my acne is worse than ever! It's everywhere too! Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "This is my first time using this drug, the pharmacy switched me to this since, and then I've experienced cramps, eating more, my breasts are sore, but the good part is I've gone up a cup size. I hope it does its job."

For Birth Control "I'm 16, and I've been taking this birth control for about 5 months, and at first, I loved it. I had shorter, lighter periods, and my breasts got bigger, but here lately, I've been having a lot of problems with it. I have been having really bad headaches. I'm really moody, get angry easy, I cry for no reason, my lower back has been hurting, bad cramps, gaining weight that I can't seem to lose, and my boyfriend and I fight all the time (which we never seemed to do before), and I think if I don't get off it soon, then I'd lose him."

For Birth Control "Nope, never again. Worst month of my life. Nausea, cramping, random bleeding, irritable-not just irritable. I had a mental breakdown and felt like I wanted to kill myself because I was frustrated trying to pick an outfit to wear (not typical, usually, I don't care at all). All this within two weeks of starting the medication. I stuck through a month and couldn't handle the negative emotional side effects. One more thing: LOW LIBIDO. There was no point in being on this because I didn't want a thing to do with sex while taking it anyway. This pill can ruin a relationship. NO THANKS."

For Birth Control "I started taking Tri-Sprintec as my first birth control. I needed something that was going to take away my nausea and vomiting when it came time for my period to start. It did just that. But now I'm nauseous all the time, I have terrible cramps all of the time. I have terrible, terrible mood swings. Not to mention the weight gain, and my boobs got bigger. Now the boobs getting bigger part isn't bad, it's painful when your breasts are just really tender all of the time. Not to mention sex became painful while taking this. I do not recommend this drug. I've been taking it for 3 months now, and I hate it. 3 months of pure suck. I'll definitely be getting a different pill at my next appointment."

"I have been on this pill for over a year and have not experienced any problems with it. I have not gotten pregnant, have not gained any weight, I do not break out, and my periods are even shorter and lighter! This pill helps with cramping, and I do not experience any mood swings. I would definitely recommend Tri-Sprintec."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve only taken this pill one month, which was for March. My original pills were discontinued by Walgreens, and these were prescribed. These pills are horrible. I began bleeding, spotting after only 2 weeks of taking them. The spotting continued from March 8th to March 24, not to mention the cramps. Wow, they were horrible. In April, I did not take the pill at all, I stopped, so one month on these horrible things. I began spotting April 8 and 9, my cycle came down on the 10th, and I’m still bleeding at April 20. That’s 10 days of bleeding. I will never, ever take these pills again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. My iron is horrible at this point, I just want to stop bleeding."

For Birth Control "My gyn prescribed Tri-Sprintec to help alleviate my bad cramps. The first week was okay, I experienced a bit of nausea, but luckily I never had any vomiting. By the second week, everything had gone downhill. I started experiencing cramps daily, backache, fatigue, increased anxiety, and dizziness. A couple of times, I felt my heart rate increase, but it didn't last long. The cramps and backache were so bad that I went to the hospital thinking that I had appendicitis! I told my gyn, and she advised me to finish the pack, and then I didn't have to take them anymore. However, the dizziness was so bad for me that I didn't take the last two active pills. I also experienced vaginal dryness, which caused painful sex, as well as a loss of sexual interest. Today would have been my last active pill for the pack, and while I'm still feeling a little dizzy and even having some slight vision blurring (kind of like dry or tired eyes), I feel better than I have the past two weeks."

For Birth Control "This is my first week on Tri-Sprintec, and honestly, it is downright TERRIBLE!! I’ve never experienced so much severe cramping and diarrhea and feeling nauseated in my life from birth control. I have had severe cramping for up to 8 days now, and I totally refuse to keep taking these pills. If anything, Tri-Nessa is WAY BETTER than this garbage. Tri-Nessa kept my periods extremely light in bleeding and never had any cramps. But Tri-Sprintec seriously has brought back my nightmares of severe cramping before I ever started birth control. Making it 100x times WORSE!!! I do NOT recommend this birth control if you are not a fan of cramps 24/7."

For Birth Control "My gyno switched me to this because it was cheaper than my birth control at the time. I experienced horrible cramps and bloating, not just when my period arrived. Also, I gained almost ten pounds in one month, which is completely not normal because I could barely eat since the pill made me nauseous and dizzy at least a few times a week. My periods were heavy and seven days, when before they were light and only four days."

For Birth Control "I went on this medicine for birth control. When I first started it, I only got pimples the week of my period, I had really bad cramps (to the point I threw up every month), and I was really fit. Fast forward 6 months - my face breaks out all the time and is never clear (no matter how much I wash it), the cramps got better, and I gained 10 lbs all in my mid-area. This medicine did make my boobs become fuller and my period was on time every month. This medicine also made me VERY moody, and I cried over the smallest things almost every day. The weight gain + countless emotional breakdowns/anxiety attacks were way too overwhelming for me, so I just switched to a different BC!"

For Birth Control "I started using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo when I was 17. It was my first time on birth control, and I had no problems. I switched to Tri-Sprintec a year later because my insurance changed. I have had no problems whatsoever with this birth control. I still have cramps, but not as bad, and I know exactly what day I start my period. I highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I had been on Trinessa since I was 19 and am now 23. I was switched to Tri-Sprintec because my pharmacy only carried that for generic. I figured I'd give it a try since the hormone levels were the same as Trinessa, and I had no problems whatsoever on Trinessa. Well, for the last 6 months, I've been excessively irritable, and I've never cried so much in my life. My already C cups have gone up to a DD. I have absolutely no sex drive, and it's starting to affect my relationship. I don't want to do anything anymore but sit on the couch and sleep. I also have been getting really bad cramps and abdominal pains, not just during my period but all the time! I'm switching back."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "First and last month on this. I did notice mild nausea for half a day at the start of the pack, but that went away quickly. I'm not sure if I've gained any weight, but it sure does seem like it. My breasts are way more tender than they ever have been, but the worst thing is the spotting. I've been spotting for the last three days, and it's so painful. My periods are usually easy and last only a few days. The cramps I've experienced before this pill were mild compared to the cramps brought on by Tri-Sprintec. I was on Yaz when I was 18 and had no issues with it, so I'm going to try switching. The spotting is horrible, and I think it's given me a yeast infection or something, 'cause I'm unusually itchy. I'm done with this pill!!"

For Birth Control "Overall, a horrible birth control, only used it a week, and I couldn’t continue any longer because of the fact that it was making me vomit anything I ate after taking the pill. I also had really bad cramps and diarrhea. I don’t recommend it if your body is birth control sensitive."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for almost a year now, and it does what I started taking it for: regulating things. However, I experience terrible cramps, irritability, and mood swings, which I never experienced before I started taking it. I'm sticking with this pill because it keeps my periods short and light, opposite of before I was taking them."

For Acne "I have cystic acne, which isn't awful, but this pill made it a lot worse. I tried a lot of different acne products and treatments, and none worked, so I've tried 2 birth control pills to help, this being my second try. I followed my doctor's advice to give it at least 6 months, and it has only made my acne worse. It is redder, more painful, and a lot deeper than before, and it has spread all over my face and become splotchy. I also get a lot of fevers and awful cramps all throughout the month. I also use birth control pills to stop my periods. The first day I went on it, I got my period (it was awful and lasted 14 days). Now I keep getting them, so it's not working. Don't let my experience sway you too much, but unfortunately, it just doesn't work."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 3 years, and my experience was very clear skin, super light periods, and little to no weight gain. I’ve been off the pill for 6 months now, and my skin is slightly less clear, I’ve gained weight, and have worse cramps than I did while on the pill. The cons I experienced while taking this were irritability, feelings of insecurity and self-doubt, and overall inability to control my emotions. However, if you have emotional side effects from these hormones, it’s important to remember what’s causing them. You’re not crazy, it’s your hormonal birth control. I’ve decided to get back on this pill, as it seems the pros very much outweigh the cons. I would definitely give this one a try to see if it’s right for you!"

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for about a year and 2 months now. It was my first time on birth control, and it has been pretty good for me. I never really got cramps, but when I started taking the pills, I started having light cramping before and after my monthly cycle, but nothing too serious. Overall, I feel like Tri-Sprintec has been pretty awesome! I keep my alarm on my phone, and I'm fine. I do feel like maybe being on the pill is slowing down my weight loss, but it's okay. I'm not pregnant, so I don't mind."
