For Birth Control "I forgot to add that while I was on this pill, during the second month that I was taking it, for the two weeks that I was tapering off the active pills and going into the sugar pills, I felt so incredibly disturbed and crazy. I started feeling extremely anxious and like I was going to die. I also had thoughts of killing myself during those two weeks. I've noticed this on the NuvaRing too, which makes me think I'm really sensitive to estrogen. If you have depression and anxiety, I really don't recommend this pill because, in my own experience, already knowing I have it, it made life a living hell during the last two weeks. I'm going to see if switching to a no-estrogen pill will work or possibly try an IUD."

For Ovarian Cysts "This pill made my anxiety terrible! My hormones were so out of whack while taking the pill. I would get so dizzy, which was very scary. Not to mention, my breasts always hurt. The different amount of hormones each week really messes with your body! I used to be on just Sprintec, and it was way better than Tri-Sprintec!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This pill is total shit. It was prescribed to me to regulate my periods, and while it did do that, the side effects were horrendous. The third week of the third month, I suffered a severe panic attack at work and was out of work for the rest of that week. I barely left my house and was afraid to drive for the remainder of the week. I had subsequent panic attacks and severe anxiety for the rest of that week, along with chest pains and heart palpitations. At one point, my anxiety levels were so high I thought I would vomit. I was so scared that I would drop dead any minute from a heart attack. This drug made me a severely anxious, emotional, irrational mess of a human being, and many of the side effects have lingered for the past five months...."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec every single day, nonstop for about 6 or 7 years now. I have never really had any problems with it until now. I feel like it has been the cause of major migraines and headaches for the past year. I also feel like it is starting to cause slight anxiety and panic attacks. I am tired of my moods changing and feeling panicky and worried and anxious, and I know it's this pill. Maybe it's because I've been on it so long? Don't know. I am thinking about switching to an IUD. Other than the symptoms I am starting to feel now, I never had an issue the first few years on it. I actually felt great until now."

For Birth Control "I was put on this BC to prevent pregnancy. I guess I should preface this review by saying I was off hormonal BC for almost 4 years, so my reaction could have been, in part, due to that fact. I was only able to take this BC for 4 days. The first thing I noticed was the nausea and the ill feeling I had throughout the whole day. I couldn't eat, my appetite decreased a lot. It made my anxiety 3x worse, and it also made me depressed to the point where it was getting crippling, and I couldn't go through the day without feeling like I needed to cry at the most random times. I read some people saying they had a feeling of dread while taking this BC. I had that too. I had the worst insomnia I've had in my life. Worst BC I've ever taken!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 4+ years. Insurance switched me from TriNessa, which worked fine for me. I've noticed changes in my behavior, like irritability, anxiousness, and depression. I even started taking an antidepressant. I also became anti-social. However, my periods are very regular, with only some bloating and cramps, and I have a good sex drive. Also, no babies! Honestly, I just thought all those mood changes came with age, I'm 32, but it could very well be this birth control now that I see so many reviews with similar experiences. I talked to my doctor about switching, and she recommended Sprintec, which is the same pill throughout the pack. She said Tri-Sprintec is a different pill each week, which means your hormones are changing frequently, hence mood swings. Hopefully, this switch will help me. Please shop around for what works best for you and your body."

For Endometriosis "For treating endometriosis and helping alleviate my painful and heavy-flowing periods, this did the trick. HOWEVER, it made me an absolute monster. My mood swings were out of control. I was either angry or incredibly sad all the time. My depression hit hard, and I had never been more anxious than I was on this medicine. I gained weight on this and lost all of my energy. The worst parts of myself were brought to the forefront on this medicine. I talked to my doctor, and she swiftly changed me to something else, and it was literally like magic when I got off of this. For two months, it felt like I had totally lost it, but once I got off this medicine, I got back to myself. I’m sure this works for some people, but it did not work for me at all."

For Birth Control "I absolutely hate this medication. I started taking it after 3 months postpartum. I haven’t taken birth control in years because I have PCOS and my periods were all over the place, so it didn’t matter to me. Long story short, I lost a lot of weight, and after 8 years of trying, I got pregnant. My periods after losing the weight were back to normal. After having my son, we decided that I should get on birth control. This pill is horrible for me. My first period after giving birth lasted over a week, and I’m usually a 4-5 day bleeder. Stopped for 2 days and bleed again. Stopped for 3 days and bled some more. I am constantly lightheaded! And so tired. I already have anxiety, and these make it so much worse. And I can just look at my husband and instantly go into angry woman mode. Which is insane because we are great and happy together. I don’t cramp per se, but during my period I ache. It’s like I can feel the wall shedding. Hate it!!!"

For Birth Control "The bad reviews are true! I've been on this for over three months now, and I hate it. My boobs swelled up one full size and are constantly tender and sore. I gained about five pounds, and I really feel like it increases bloating and abdominal discomfort because that's what I get immediately after I take my pill. I've also developed a daily headache that starts in the afternoon and lasts until that night. Annoying and probably dangerous. I've grown to hate taking this pill. My anxiety and depression were already bad, but this pill just zaps all my energy and motivation and puts me in extremely bad moods that affect my relationships. I'm going to ask to be switched to a low-dose pill or go back to Paragard."

For Acne "I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for at least 11 years. I started on it when I was 15, and I’m now 25. I stopped taking it to try and have a baby, and I succeeded, but once I had my son, I immediately went back on the pill. My acne has always been next to nothing on this pill, but about a month ago, I stopped taking it for 2 weeks, and let me tell you, MY ACNE BLEW UP after I started back on it. I never have a clear face anymore. During those two weeks I was off Tri-Sprintec, I felt great. Now that I’m back on it, I just don’t feel like myself. I’m tired all the time. My sex drive is next to nothing. I have the worst acne. I have headaches almost every single day. I’m angry a lot, and I get sad suddenly. I’m anxious all the time. I will say that it has kept me from getting pregnant. My periods aren’t as bad as they were when I was off birth control, but recently, my periods have been pretty heavy."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Do not take Tri-Sprintec. All it does is make you fat, make you want to eat everything in your pantry, and it makes you cry, especially the week before the sugar pills. I would give this medicine a -10000000000000, but that’s not an option."

For Acne "WORST BIRTH CONTROL EVER. After 3-4 months on this medication, I developed severe nausea, vomiting, mood swings, bad anxiety, and depression. Every day I would wake up with the worst stomach cramps and was constantly constipated. I also felt so exhausted every day. I quit shortly after the symptoms came up, and it's been 3 months since I quit, and I'm still struggling and not myself. Please do not take this. The only positives were it cleared up my face slightly, and my breasts became bigger."

For Ovarian Cysts "I've been on Ortho, Aviane, and this one. Ortho was my favorite. Aviane was not good. As for this one, the first months it gave me whiteheads. It went away, and ever since, my skin has been amazing. I think I had one pimple since. I seemed to feel decent. Then, I noticed my period wasn't that light. I get weird abdominal pains. I feel like I have fatigue, and I'm tired. This pill gives me really bad headaches at the fourth week that makes me unproductive. But the worst thing is that I seem to have developed depression. I'm not as zombie-like with Aviane, but I feel bipolar, and I feel like my pressure is up. I have anxiety and trouble sleeping. The depression seems to be getting worse and worse every time the fourth week comes around. I have zero sex drive with my husband, and I don't even enjoy food. But there are times when my mood is good, and other times I feel practically suicidal. It's scary. Unfortunately, I need to take a break from BC and see what's going on."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 9 months now. I am switching off of it next week. It has caused me so much anxiety and depression, and I couldn't take it anymore. I would just get pissed off or scared or upset about any little small thing and scream at any person who was near me. It doesn't even help with my cramps like it was supposed to. I'm on my period currently, and my cramps are just as bad and bed-ridden to me as they were before I started the pill. Definitely do not recommend if you're looking to alleviate cramps nor if you deal with anxiety/depression already."

"I am 16 years old, and I was put on Sprintec to regulate my periods. The first month of taking it, I didn't have any side effects, besides that I was hungry and gained about 5 pounds. The second month, I started to become very moody. I kept taking the pill, and now I am experiencing anxiety and depression. I am very emotional and worried about everything. I almost lost my boyfriend because of it, and I am going to the doctor about my anxiety and depression."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen in the past for about 3 years and experienced no side effects. After being off birth control for about a year, my doctor put me on Tri-Sprintec. It has now been 4 months. Nightmares. My symptoms have included: constipation, increased appetite, tender breasts, severe mood swings, increased anxiety and emotions, and insomnia. I have begun to feel like I’m falling into a depressive state. Countless times throughout the day, I say to my friends/family, “I just feel so bleh,” and it is completely unlike me. I have a doctor's appointment in a couple of days, and I’m going to continue taking it until I consult with her. But regardless of her recommendation, where my mindset is right now, I am done with this birth control and possibly any other types. The only good thing I can say is my period cramps/heavy bleeding have decreased significantly, but the misery isn’t worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen previously for years and my gyno decided to put me on Tri-Sprintec. Worst thing ever! Bad side effects, awful insomnia, and felt so anxious and moody for 3 months, something I never felt before. I had to go back on Ortho because of the side effects."

For Birth Control "Tri-Sprintec gave me terrible anxiety, extreme mood swings, and uncontrollable anger. Cleared up acne! Made me nauseous, gained weight, literally just made me flat-out insane. Would not recommend."
