For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for a year now. My first month, I had a period that lasted the entire month, but it only happened that first month. This birth control does its job of preventing pregnancy. It also helped with my acne (like others have said, I get a pimple or two right when my period starts, but that’s it). It’s regulated my periods in the way that I know when I start the 4th week, my period will start. However, during the second week, I have spotting for almost the whole week... it’s very annoying. I’ve also noticed mood swings, depression, and anxiety. I have not gained weight with this medication. There are pros to this BC and cons. I’m staying on it for the next three months to see if any of the cons improve..."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for about 4 months before switching to its generic version (Tri-Sprintec), so in total, I've been on the pill for 8 months. There are a couple of side effects I've had: weight gain, vaginal dryness. My sex drive is at an all-time low, and my hormones used to drive me crazy. I have problems with depression and anxiety, but I do believe it stabilized that and helped just a bit. It's cleared up my cystic acne somewhat. That's all I can think of for the side effects. I take the bad with the good, and the whole point of taking it was for acne and avoiding pregnancy, and it's doing a great job at the avoiding pregnancy thing! I would probably recommend."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for about 5 years. It started when I was 15, and the first few months my face had acne absolutely everywhere; the acne lasted about 3 months. Some of the side effects did occur to me, such as anxiety, mood swings, but the most important fact is that I have not gotten pregnant, and the pill is easily affordable, so that's why I keep using it."

For Birth Control "I went on this medicine for birth control. When I first started it, I only got pimples the week of my period, I had really bad cramps (to the point I threw up every month), and I was really fit. Fast forward 6 months - my face breaks out all the time and is never clear (no matter how much I wash it), the cramps got better, and I gained 10 lbs all in my mid-area. This medicine did make my boobs become fuller and my period was on time every month. This medicine also made me VERY moody, and I cried over the smallest things almost every day. The weight gain + countless emotional breakdowns/anxiety attacks were way too overwhelming for me, so I just switched to a different BC!"

For Acne "I always had acne around periods, but after I had my son, it got severe. So much so that it left scars from inflammation that would make one zit into a pea-sized bump deep under my skin that was painful and caused anxiety, depression, and so on. After seeing a dermatologist, he prescribed a combo of 3 to combat it. The Tri-Sprintec to regulate hormones, a light topical antibiotic lotion, clindamycin, I think, and a year of doxycycline antibiotics. It took time, but after the antibiotics took care of the infection with this pill, it seemed to prevent acne. My reason for thinking this is the only time it's gotten bad again is after running out and going a month without or an occasional pimple during the placebo week. Overall, it helped a great deal..."

For Acne "I’ve taken this before and haven’t noticed any side effects, but starting again with Sprintec these last 4 months, I’ve gained weight, have had very unusual depression and anxiety, and my acne has gotten so bad, when it has never been that way. This definitely is not for everyone, the cystic acne makes me not want to show my face, it’s that bad, but I will say I’m not pregnant, so there’s that."

For Birth Control "I started about three weeks ago. The first week was fine. Beginning in the second week, I realized I was having way more anxiety and depressive thoughts. Then I came and read the reviews on this website and saw that everyone else feels the same way, so I am not continuing to take this any longer."

For Birth Control "My gyn prescribed Tri-Sprintec to help alleviate my bad cramps. The first week was okay, I experienced a bit of nausea, but luckily I never had any vomiting. By the second week, everything had gone downhill. I started experiencing cramps daily, backache, fatigue, increased anxiety, and dizziness. A couple of times, I felt my heart rate increase, but it didn't last long. The cramps and backache were so bad that I went to the hospital thinking that I had appendicitis! I told my gyn, and she advised me to finish the pack, and then I didn't have to take them anymore. However, the dizziness was so bad for me that I didn't take the last two active pills. I also experienced vaginal dryness, which caused painful sex, as well as a loss of sexual interest. Today would have been my last active pill for the pack, and while I'm still feeling a little dizzy and even having some slight vision blurring (kind of like dry or tired eyes), I feel better than I have the past two weeks."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control. Bad mood swings! I've been taking it for about a year, and I've noticed all I do is cry over dumb shit. I am starting to have really bad anxiety, and I quit, I didn't even finish the whole pack. Every time near my period, I get angry. Don't take this. Please."

For Birth Control "Three weeks into taking this birth control, I experienced severe anxiety, debilitating panic attacks that sent me to urgent care and kept me from working, depression, sensitivity to light and sound, racing heart, insomnia, and a complete personality change for the worse. My family didn't want to be around me. I stopped taking this drug four days ago and already feel a tremendous difference. I no longer have anxiety about going to bed at night, or driving on fast roads, or anything else that used to shut me down before. I have noticed a difference in my outlook on life, my personality, and it's only been four days. My doctor told me it can take a week to get completely out of my system, but I am seeing improvement every day. Consumers beware of this drug."

For Birth Control "I had been using Tri-Sprintec for about 8 months before switching. While taking this birth control, I became a complete nutcase. My emotions were a constant roller coaster, I developed severe anxiety, and I couldn't understand why I was always depressed. The smallest things brought me to tears, and I was not in the least bit acting myself. After 8 months of feeling like a looney bin, my doctor and I discussed my birth control. Little did I know that it had 3 estrogen levels that increase over the month, which he said could definitely be responsible for my 8 months of sudden anxiety and increased emotions. My doctor switched me to Junel Fe, which has the lowest possible level of estrogen. It has been a month, and I finally feel like myself again."

For Acne "Started Tri-Sprintec a year ago for moderate acne, and I HATE IT! I had mild acne and was prescribed birth control to handle it, however, at the third month, my face was essentially a teenager's worst nightmare. Not only did it make my mild acne into severe cystic acne, the mood swings and anxiety are AWFUL! The combination of acne and anxiety just made me feel disgusting and gross. I’m starting Accutane in a week and swapping birth control brands. WHATEVER YOU DO, NEVERRRRR TAKE THIS BRAND!!"

For Acne "Oh wow. The side effects of this medication are not worth it. I had been on it years before, so I tried it again to help with acne. I became so fatigued and lethargic I could barely walk my dog or go up steps without a lot of effort. My boyfriend was extremely worried about me, saying it was the darkest I’ve ever been. I became depressed, overwhelmed, nauseous, upset stomach daily, hopeless, tearful, and had panic symptoms as well. No acne would be great, but I’m about to ruin my life if I stay on this any longer! Only took 12 days' worth, but I have to stop."

For Birth Control "Oh my goodness. Never in my life have I felt so miserable from a birth control pill. The side effects were so extreme they made everyday tasks almost unmanageable. The nausea, fatigue, and dizziness every single day really took a toll on me physically and emotionally. I would even get a tingling sensation in my hand, and my legs would feel extremely heavy, which caused major anxiety. I didn’t continue this pill any longer. I was so scared of what it may have caused next. Mini pill, here I come."

For Birth Control "I've used Tri-Cyclen for over 3 years with absolutely no issues. I would get a few pimples a month, no big deal. I've always had acne-prone skin. I've dealt with anxiety issues and depression a few years ago, but I haven't had any issues with it since. So my pharmacist tells me they no longer carry Tri-Cyclen and they only have Tri-Sprintec. Let me tell you, I am MAD. I had absolutely no warning it was changing and that it would be the exact same. That was a huge lie. I have been taking it for a whole month now, and I get deep cystic pimples every day on my cheeks. And my anxiety and depression have come back so hard I don't even want to leave my house. Seriously, this is the worst thing that could have ever happened. Please, for the love of God, do NOT TAKE THIS. Throwing it in the trash."

For Birth Control "I started taking this in April of 2011, and it is now March 2012. This is also the first birth control I have ever taken. I honestly can say that this pill has made me a different person, as in very moody, especially during the third row of pills (the blue ones). My husband even says, 'It must be blue pill week!' since this is the week I tend to be extremely moody. I used to be really nice and laugh at just about anything, but now while on this pill, I just feel super anxious, and I even think this raises my blood pressure. The only good thing about this pill is that it has helped me with my cystic acne. Before I started taking this pill, I would get really bad cystic pimples on my jawline, but I haven't had any since being on this pill."

For Birth Control "Don't take that pill. I gained a lot of weight. I got depressed and had anxiety. I always wanted to eat... I took it for only one month, and now I have like 4 days without that pill, and I feel like I'm gaining more and more weight (I'm eating so well, I go to the gym every day...)"

For Birth Control "This birth control turned me into a whole other person! It gave me such bad anxiety, I cried at everything so easily and always felt so unstable. I was an emotional roller coaster. I think it’s because it has a different level of hormone each week, so your body can’t really adjust. It also made my acne worse. The one plus side was it made my boobs grow a cup size, and they looked more perky."

"I have been on different types of birth control for the past 10 years, and I've never had so many problems as I've had with Tri-Sprintec. I had my first anxiety attack after day 2 of taking Tri-Sprintec, and now I'm 5 days in and have such bad abdominal pain and bloating that I can barely walk. I've also experienced fatigue and definitely a difference in my overall mood. I know birth control affects each woman differently, but I would definitely."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 4 years. The side effects were pretty bad. I'd get migraines. I'd cry a lot. I became paranoid about things. Had severe anxiety. Was depressed a lot. Pretty much things that I never felt before until I got on this pill. Very effective in preventing pregnancy, but would otherwise not recommend."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for about 3 years. The first week of pills makes me incredibly nauseous every new pack, and although it did a decent job clearing up my acne initially, it’s started to get worse. I’ve experienced weight gain and increased anxiety, but it has made my periods very regular, which is nice. A decent birth control option, but I am going to start looking for others out there."

For Ovarian Cysts "I really liked this pill in the beginning. Two full months later, I am very nauseous, my anxiety is worse, and I have tiny dizzy spells that last from the fifth day of my period to the beginning of a new cycle. I am so miserable this time of the month that I've had to cancel several social outings. I saw my doctor today and she switched me to plain Sprintec. I hope this works. On the bright side, my periods are on time, lighter bleeding, and minimal cramps."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for not even 6 months now and have been in the worst 6 months of my life. I've already had 2 panic attacks and severe anxiety that gets worse day by day. I haven’t experienced a low libido, but most definitely cannot take this pill without a meal, you will feel nauseous or like you will pass out. One thing is my menstrual cycle is regular, but it’s always been. Never taking this pill again!!"

For Birth Control "I started taking this two months ago, I was told it was the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It sucks. I've never had mood swings or anxiety like this before. I get so mad and emotional over the most ridiculous things, and usually I'm pretty happy and upbeat. It also did nothing for my cramps during my period, they were terrible, and that's not an issue I've had on my previous birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Sprintec for a year and a half. It's very effective against pregnancy, I believe it helped with acne. I didn't experience any weight gain. However, I did go through a very traumatic 4-month phase before I stopped taking it. Let's see, I had anxiety attacks. I've never in life had anxiety attacks, not even anxiety. I was moody 21 days and happy the 5 days while on my cycle. I was paranoid, scared, cried a lot, and had rage. I stopped taking Tri-Sprintec, and boom, pregnant with twins. But ever since I stopped taking Tri-Sprintec, I haven't experienced any of those things yet, and my twins are 2 years old."
