For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for approximately 3 years. I experienced extreme nausea initially, until I learned it's best to take the medication at night. My mild acne subsided significantly and still to this day seems non-existent. Everything seemed to be great with this pill until the last 6 months or so. My sex drive has taken a nosedive. Also, mood swings have become way too frequent. It's like I can't shake this dark cloud. One day I'm feeling a tad better, and then I'm down again. Although this pill has been great physically, it's not worth my emotional health. I will more than likely have my doctor prescribe something else."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for a year now. I took it to have a less painful, more regulated cycle. The first 3 months were the worst for me. It cleared up my acne (not that it was horrible to begin with), but it also gave me dermatitis on my face within the first month. During the first few months, I had severe breast tenderness that would last for 1-2 weeks, which is slightly more tolerable now but still painful and only lasts for a few days. I also get very bloated during the 3rd week of the pack. I have more regular periods, however, I have since gained 15-20 lbs and can't seem to get rid of the extra weight even though I eat healthy and exercise 4-5 days a week. My mood hasn't changed except for the last week of the pack, which is normal during my period. My sex drive has gone down a bit as well. I am switching to a lower dose birth control after finishing up my last pack. Each person's body reacts differently, hopefully, others will have a better experience."

For Birth Control "I was 17 and switched from the highest dose estrogen patch (to increase estrogen levels) to Sprintec, and finally got my period after never having it. I initially thought it worked fine, I never got acne (never had it to begin with) and could track my periods down to the day it would start and end. On the other hand, periods were the worst. Very heavy periods with a lot of clots, horrible cramps, and only a few cases of mood swings. My period only lasts maybe 4 days total, though. I am now switching since my periods were so bad. In terms of pregnancy prevention, it did its job, even with no other use of contraception, like condoms. It also made me very dry and lowered my sex drive. A good perk is that it made my boobs grow maybe a cup size up! They're still slightly tender at all times, though. Other than that, it's an okay choice for BC. I don't have anything else to compare it to, though, but for my first time ever using an oral birth control tablet, not terrible."

For Birth Control "Went on Sprintec after the birth of my daughter in December 2014. Was on it until now, August 2015. It was good at preventing pregnancy and made my periods lighter and lost all of my baby weight and 15 extra pounds with it. I was 134 before getting pregnant and now I'm 119. But it magnified my depression and anxiety, causing me to have panic attacks. Never had that before this pill, and it made my libido with my husband of 2 years go down the tubes, it even made my relationship with him bad. And TMI - it made me have really bad constipation. I don't care for this drug at all, I think I may just go off it altogether. I've been off it for a week and feel much better."

For Ovarian Cysts "After being on Estarylla for a few months, I was switched to Sprintec. I was on the first week of my second pack when I realized the new symptoms I was having were related to this med. I started to feel bloated, nauseous, and cramps all the time. I also noticed dry skin around my chin. Little to no sex drive, dryness during intercourse, and fatigue. I experienced what I think is breakthrough bleeding three times while I was on this pill. I also lost 5 lbs, but I usually lose weight while on the pill-any BC pill. I personally did not like Sprintec. It is not for me. Everyone's body reacts differently, I only suggest remembering the date you started this pill and paying close attention to any changes in mood or body. Good luck."

For Birth Control "Well, I have been on this BC for years. I am 30 years old, recently married. Now everything was fine for a long time until recently, where I've been feeling out of whack with my hormones. Now, with that being said, our bodies change every 7 to 10 years, so anything can change. Recently, I have been having crazy anxiety and depressed-like feelings, can't seem to shake it off. Now, I do have anxiety (who doesn't?), but lately it has been crazy, making me think I am crazy to the point where I even made an appointment with a psychiatrist because I was getting scared. Then someone mentioned that it could be your BC, so I came home and looked this up, and it all makes sense to me. I have been having NO APPETITE AT ALL and NO SEX DRIVE. I am stopping this BC completely, giving my body a break from any and all BCs. This pill is not worth risking any health issue, especially mental health. I wish I noticed this earlier."

For Birth Control "I like it. Only side effect is amazing skin and increased sex drive. So safe to say this birth control is working for me. I used to be on Implanon (progesterone-only method), and I had every bad side effect possible (acne, 2-year long period, mood swings, weekly migraines, low libido). So this combo method is much better for my body."

For Birth Control "I'm 34 and was prescribed this pill for irregular periods. I've only been on it for a week, and I'd rather deal with bleeding for a month straight than the side effects that I'm already experiencing: *extremely bloated, *had a couple of painful pimples pop up on my face and my chest, *have sore and swollen breasts, *increased appetite with 3 lbs. gained weight, *and the worst of all, have zero sex drive and am a psycho bitch to my husband who does not deserve to be treated like that. I'm throwing the rest of them straight in the garbage."

For Birth Control "I had low sex drive, super irregular periods, and some acne before I started Sprintec about two months ago. My sex drive has certainly improved, but now I am bloated so often, and my acne is insane! I had perfect skin all through high school, and I have tried just about everything. Maybe I have to wait longer for my skin to even out, or maybe it is just a lot of estrogen that my body was so obviously lacking, but I am not pleased."

For Birth Control "The only reason I gave this a '2' instead of a '1' is because my cystic acne has completely gone away... and I didn't get pregnant. Fairly sure I didn't get pregnant because I bled all the time. The constant bleeding and obvious loss in libido made me never want to have sex. I attempted to give this a long-haul try because I have never previously in my life (prior to puberty) not suffered with acne. I have had painful cystic acne for more than half of my life now, and I was enthralled that this pill cleared it up... Pros: No more acne. Cons: Constant bleeding/spotting, loss of libido, painful cramping, bloating, exhaustion (likely due to blood loss), irritability. Find another option."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I took Sprintec for 3 months, and it was downright awful. I'm usually a pretty mellow person, and this pill made me so angry and depressed, I was constantly fighting with my family and angry at myself. It made my periods worse and gave me horrible cramping I've never experienced before in my life, and I had absolutely no sex drive. I stopped taking it and felt much better. I've been scared to try another birth control pill because of how I reacted to Sprintec, but I'm starting Tri-Lo Marzia now, and hopefully it works better for me. Hopefully, Sprintec works for someone else, but it did not work out for me."

For Birth Control "I've been taking BC since I was 13 (so about 6 years). I switched to Sprintec roughly 2 years ago. I don't enjoy it at all. It does its job, I haven't had any pregnancy scares, and even when I accidentally missed a pill, nothing happened. But it has killed my sex drive, which is very disappointing. It has also dried me up. I have to use lube in order to be *barely* comfortable during sex. Not for everybody."

For Birth Control "Sprintec does what it says it will do: control birth. The side effects are horrible. I’ve experienced weight gain (that wasn’t so bad), very bad mood swings, decreased sex drive (wasn’t good for my fiancé), heart palpitations, severe depression, headaches, and dizziness on occasions. I’ve been taking them for about 7 months now, and I’m on my last row in the pack, and I’m not going to refill on them. Every woman’s experience is different, but pay attention when many say the same things about Sprintec. I’m thick in all the right places, but I feel like garbage."

For Birth Control "The first year on this was great. After that, I went crazy. I had 2 pregnancy scares in 6 months. Not to mention the lower sex drive, crazy mood swings, and getting dry down there. Finally switched after 2 years. Be careful, know your body, and listen when others tell you you've changed."

For Birth Control "My dermatologist put me on this BC because of my adult acne. I’m 31 now and started using this BC when I was 27. The transition stage took quite a while. As I rated this, I started with 10 stars and took away as I thought of the side effect it had on me. I experienced: weight gain (30 lbs!), spotting for a whole year, low libido, depression/tiredness, and extreme hair loss once I stopped using it. I stopped using it for two main reasons: one, I felt really depressed/tired and after reading reviews, I felt it was due to this BC. And two, as I reached my 30s, I decided I’m ready for babies. My acne came back almost immediately after I stopped using it, and I’ve lost so much hair it was scary. While I was on Sprintec, my boobs did get a whole size bigger, and my skin looked great, and at times this makes me want to get back on, but for me, the bad outweighs the good."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec in the beginning of September, and the first week I broke out so bad around my mouth and on my chin, which has never been a huge problem area for me. I'm on my third pack, and there are still no signs of clearing up. I've been losing even more hair than normal, and it completely killed my sex drive. I have random pains in my abdomen that feel like cramps even when I'm not on my period. The only plus side is that my breasts got slightly bigger. Lol."

For Birth Control "Did not like this pill. Started this pill at 140 lbs, 5'4. I’ve been on it for a month and am already at 152 with my normal workout routine and average diet. With my height, this weight makes me feel awful. I weirdly have no appetite but still gain weight. I have generalized anxiety, and it was finally getting better until I started taking Sprintec. My mood swings are crazy, and even the smallest things set me off. I have noticed my skin gets irritated easily, and sometimes I am so bloated it’s painful. My vagina is constantly dry, and I have no sex drive. Don’t take this pill."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec on March 17 and have been on it ever since. So far, I’ve had good and bad experiences with it. I do get dry down there, my sex drive is sometimes low, and my mood is all over the place at times. Although it has been good about lightening my period and my cramps are not as bad, my face is clear for the most part besides when I start my period. Overall, I would get this product. Just be aware of what side effects can happen."

For Birth Control "I was so scared to start BC - I dug deep and read so many reviews, most of which I saw were really negative, so I had my doubts. I was so happy with Sprintec - I didn't experience anything crazy, no loss of sex drive, and it even helped my acne a little bit. The only thing I did experience was crazy hormones right before my period, but it was nothing a nice little support system around me couldn't help with. YOU GOT THIS"

For Birth Control "I experienced a LOT of breakthrough bleeding in the beginning. I also experienced mood swings. The breakthrough bleeding has stopped and my mood is better now. I have experienced no weight gain. I've actually lost 10 lbs, but I am trying to lose weight. My boobs got a little fuller. I had a little bit of acne at first, but nothing terrible, I just rarely get breakouts. Periods are a little lighter, a little less painful, but last about 6-7 days. Sex drive has plummeted."

For Birth Control "I have been on this almost a year and started it to regulate my period. That only worked for like 3 months, and now I get my period a whole week before I should, even though I take the pill daily at the right time. I get the worst cramps, no sex drive, cramps all month, worse breast pain, extreme bloating. Overall, I do not recommend it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for the past year, and I gave the drug 7/10 because it has been effective when it comes to birth control. I've gained 5ish pounds, have mood swings that are manageable, low sex drive, vomiting (after starting a new pack), and mild breakouts. These seem like normal side effects with estrogen-based pills, but are super new to me coming from the Depo Shot. I know a lot of people that take Sprintec and LOVE it, but it's not my favorite... Free with insurance though!"

For Birth Control "I'm 22, normal weight, healthy. I was nauseous and broke out for the first week. My boobs were basically always tender, but they also swelled (I'm like an A cup, so I saw that as a plus). I have always been an easy crier, and it did intensify that. I've always had a low libido, so I don't think it changed much (although my libido went way up after getting off of Sprintec). I was sad to have to get off it because I had such minor side effects, but the issue I had was bleeding for 7 months. It was light - I went through about 2 panty liners per day and didn't need to sleep in anything - until the last week when I got fed up. I bled so much that I was blacking out and feeling sick. I stopped cold turkey and got headaches, but the bleeding is over!!!"

For Birth Control "Awful. I was prescribed this birth control four months ago. I was on norethindrone a little over a year ago and had no symptoms, but was not sexually active, so I stopped taking it. My doctor prescribed this pill, and it has been awful. Cystic acne (I’ve never had any kind of acne...ever), low libido, vaginal dryness even when aroused, mood swings, fatigue, and awful cramping with spotty, irregular periods. I started the pack exactly when I was supposed to and was so exhausted after the first three days that I skipped class and slept until 3 pm (I’m usually up at 7:30 am), was in an awful mood, and didn’t have any libido. My periods have been extremely painful and spotty. My anxiety is through the roof, and I now run the risk of having to take antidepressants because it affected me so much."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for two months now, and my doctor had told me that if I wanted to skip my period, I could just skip over the white and jump right into the next pack. So, after deciding to do so, I've been bleeding for the past week now unexpectedly throughout the day. I have never had acne before, but now that I've been on Sprintec, my forehead has been spotting. Also, my breasts have become larger, I believe, but sore to touch almost every day. I have gained about 10 lbs from it, and my sex drive is gone about halfway through activity. And I've also been feeling bloated. I'm not totally satisfied with the product, but not totally dissatisfied since it obviously works. Debating going off it though."
