For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for a little over 4 years, nonstop. The pill worked great for birth control and acne was better than ever. Over the 4 years, I gained 40 pounds. I did start the pill when I was 19 and very thin, so the college lifestyle could have contributed to the weight gain as well, but the pill definitely increased my appetite and I had extreme cravings during periods. I decided to switch pills after 4 years because I began getting strong pelvic pain and pain during sex, which my OB explained after being on one pill for so long, it is not unusual to start to have adverse effects. I would say overall not bad, but definite weight gain."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 7 months now. The first 4 months were fine, didn't improve my heavy period or lessen the days I have my period (7). The 5th month I bled for 1 1/2 months, after I went through that, I got the side effects. CONSTANT headache, super nauseous all the time, I have no energy whatsoever, tons of problems with my contact lenses, I'm dizzy all the time, lost partial vision in my right eye for about 1 day, I don't have a sex drive anymore. This is the worst birth control I've ever taken!!!"

For Birth Control "Awful. I was prescribed this birth control four months ago. I was on norethindrone a little over a year ago and had no symptoms, but was not sexually active, so I stopped taking it. My doctor prescribed this pill, and it has been awful. Cystic acne (I’ve never had any kind of acne...ever), low libido, vaginal dryness even when aroused, mood swings, fatigue, and awful cramping with spotty, irregular periods. I started the pack exactly when I was supposed to and was so exhausted after the first three days that I skipped class and slept until 3 pm (I’m usually up at 7:30 am), was in an awful mood, and didn’t have any libido. My periods have been extremely painful and spotty. My anxiety is through the roof, and I now run the risk of having to take antidepressants because it affected me so much."

For Endometriosis "I have endometriosis and PCOS and started taking these to help stop the constant heavy bleeding I was going through for months at a time. It did help with reducing the bleed. I would go weeks without bleeding, but when I would bleed, it would take some time to stop. It was much lighter than I am used to, though, so it wasn’t a big deal. Over time, I began to lose a little weight, not much. My hair started falling out, my sex drive decreased to nothing, and I began to feel depressed. Almost a year later, the depression has become a lot worse. There are days when it is completely overwhelming, and I can’t do anything."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Sprintec for almost a year now. This is the second time I've taken this medication, I like it because I've gotten terrible side effects from other forms of birth control but not from Sprintec, so I thought. Sprintec does a great job of preventing pregnancy, which is why I take it. My side effects include crazy weight gain (I stopped getting on the scale) and absolutely no sex drive whatsoever (I still can't explain this to my unreceptive husband). It took a while for me to realize that I was even having any side effects. After a few arguments with my husband because of lack of sexual desire and numbers on the scale not matching my eating habits, I did some research online, and ding, ding, ding, it all makes sense now. My husband and I have six children, so more babies are not an option. My plan is to have a tubal ligation in the next month or so so that I can have some sort of normalcy with my body."

For Birth Control "So I was put on Sprintec to regulate my period, and it did. However, this is one of those times when the cons outweigh the pros. I was on the pill for about 4 months. When I first started, I did get headaches and breast tenderness, you know some of the common side effects. They were bearable though. Around the second month, I ended up having a yeast infection, and at first, I didn’t really think much of it. Then I started getting it every month after that. My doctor claims there is no correlation, but I know my body. And I think I was right because, once I came off the pill, it cleared up. Also, my sex drive was nonexistent on the pill, but it took a while for me to notice until my boyfriend brought it to my attention. But I will say the pill helped reduce my acne. It’s all trial and error, and people have to take that risk to find what’s right for them."

For Birth Control "Not bad. First started this when I was 17. I didn't like how it made my periods and cramps way worse, but over the months, it's calmed down. I did get some mood swings, I didn't gain weight, but I always felt hungry. I would eat, and then five minutes later feel like I'm starving. I always take the pill before bed, so I didn't notice any headaches or weird feelings. It did kill my sex drive, though. I'm 22 now, and I decided to try something else. As soon as I stopped the pills, my sex drive came back, so it's been great. I didn't get pregnant, so it wasn't too bad."

For Birth Control "I am writing this review to help others. Absolutely everyone's bodies are different to medications. I have been on this pill on and off since I was 14 years old, I am now 23 years old. I recently started it back up consistently for the past 4 years. I would recommend this pill to anyone with all honesty. I went through a lot of changes in my life on this pill, so I cannot pinpoint actual pros and cons. However, my experience has always been normal and good. Until now, this past year, I have decided, but no other choice, to switch the pill. I have tried everything but switched my pill. Out of nowhere, I started to have a dark cloud over me and feel sluggish, with a lack of interest. I have started to become another person in my opinion. Also, very low libido has begun this past year, to a point I don't even want to be touched. With that being said, I am sure that it is because my body has changed over time and my hormones. My overall experience has been great with this pill. Sad to change."

For Birth Control "This BC has been the worst experience and the worst I’ve ever taken. I’ve had severe anxiety, depression (history of depression and have been taking meds for it for years), insomnia, no sex drive, weight gain, and had a period every two weeks. I took it for 4 months and I’m done. Can’t wait 'til these side effects subside back to normal. This is torture."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for 4 years. For the first 2 years, I had no problems, but then I got sick, and I think my body changed after that. I became irritable/depressed, no libido at all, and my face began to break out when I've never had skin problems. I am starting to believe that the pill is making me feel this way. As far as preventing pregnancy, it's great. I've missed a day or 2 and have never had any problems. I am switching and hoping that helps."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for a week, and it's caused me to be more moody and nauseous pretty badly the first few days. On the 3rd day, it subsided momentarily, then came back on the 4th day. It's pretty much off and on, not unbearable, but makes me have less of an appetite. I get dull cramps daily and was worried about it until I read these other posts. My breasts are also sore, and my sex drive has decreased a little. I've also been tired before it even hits 9 p.m. It makes my workday longer."

For Birth Control "I switched to Sprintec about 2-3 months back. My stress levels got worse, I could feel my hormones have been completely out of balance. I am more irritable than ever, no sex drive (which has never happened to me before), a burst of cystic acne (again, first time in my life). My diet has gone up. I understand that with birth control, diet goes up initially, but if you know it's because of the pill, then it's easier to control it. Anyway, my weight increased too and I have had really bad mood swings. This pill has been bad news for my sex life and for my skin. I am stopping immediately."

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for almost two years. I stopped for a while because I noticed an odor and discharge that I have never experienced before. I had uncomfortable sex due to the dryness it caused and sometimes no sex drive at all. I have gained weight, I went from 107 to 125 pounds in the two years I’ve taken this pill, and it’s been very effective in preventing pregnancy. Other than that, I would not recommend this pill. It is one of the worst drugs I've ever put into my body. Please don’t take it just because it’s cheap, know your options and do your research."

For Birth Control "After the first month, these are my notes: 1. No noticeable moodiness, 2. I had breakouts, but they could also be a result of new hair products, foreign desert country, drinking Red Bull, and not enough water. 3. Normal sex drive (sometimes on and sometimes off), 4. My period started a few days after I finished the active pills (I don't take the white ones). It lasted 7 days, in which the middle days were heavier and the first few days were extremely light. After my period, I decided not to use it because I started taking antibiotics to fix my facial acne. My skin actually got noticeably worse, my sex drive decreased, and I got a yeast infection. So, needless to say, I'm back on the pill and just naturally taking better care of myself."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 3 months, and I'm not very moody. I gained weight, and I sleep way more than I usually do. My skin also worsened. I am more emotional, and I'm dry, so I don't have a sex drive like I used to. My breasts didn't get tender or anything, but this caused my period to completely stop altogether. I get a little bit of spotting, but it's not bad."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Sprintec for a month now, and when I started the white pills, I spotted for 5 days, and my periods got heavier. I bleed for 7 days, and it's heavy, and my emotions are off the wall. I'm really emotional and don't really have a sex drive."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec to control my spotting between periods and obviously as birth control. I'm on the last week (the blank pills), and I've already seen my doctor to switch to a new birth control. Since being on it, I bled all 3 weeks on the regular pills and had worse spotting than before. My back cramps were consistent while on them, and my face started breaking out so bad. I've even had a few zits on my back, which I normally never get. My friend is on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Low, and I'll be switching to that immediately after this pack! My boobs have also been very swollen, and I've lost all sex drive whatsoever."

For Birth Control "Worst pill ever after two months. Then experienced depression and would literally feel sad for no reason. I’m not even an emotional person. Then the weight gain, which I didn’t mind. I would have no sex drive and literally be so aggravated for no reason, it’s killing my relationship. Got on a different brand with a lower dosage but decided to just use condoms because the side effects aren’t working for me. I would become so distant from people, as well as I hate being touched. Avoid, avoid, avoid!"

For Birth Control "I was on Mononessa for 4 years without any issues. Switched to Sprintec due to my out-of-pocket costs. I gained 28 pounds in less than 4 months, lost any sex drive I had left, and felt like a zombie-no emotions except instant anger in stupid situations. I would never suggest this to anybody. I got off of it and had the Paragard inserted yesterday. Crossing my fingers this goes well. The only good things about this were the low cost, and I didn't get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec-28 for 4 months. I rarely experience breakthrough bleeding, which had been my major complaint with birth control in the past, but I have insane mood swings, brain fog (I literally struggle to remember things I did less than 48 hours before), and my libido is so low I don’t need birth control, the thought of my boyfriend touching me is repulsive. I am a mother to a toddler, and it’s no different than how I felt pregnant. Just extreme mood swings, very irritable, absolutely zero desire for any intimacy whatsoever. I love not having to worry about getting pregnant, but we’re down to once a month sex because I just don't want him to touch me. So it’s really not protecting us against much."

For Birth Control "I had a terrible experience with this birth control. The worst part about it was my mood swings, they were horrible. My sex drive was nothing. I just had a really bad experience on it. I started on Wednesdays, and so my periods would normally come on Fridays, so they'd last about 5 days, which was longer than Loestrin for me. This is my last pack. I did not have bad acne, weight gain, bad cramps, headaches, nausea, etc."

For Birth Control "My experience was awful. It took me months to realize this pill was my problem. My anxiety was at a 10. I had panic attacks daily. My depression was at a 10. The dark thoughts, paranoia. My sex drive was nothing, I had no desire at all, ever. I gained about 5 pounds, there was never satisfaction to hunger, I was starving 24/7. But hey, I never got pregnant! What a joke. I would have preferred a pregnancy than feel that terrible again. I would never recommend this pill to anyone."

For Birth Control "I was very nervous about going on birth control because I’d had bad luck experiences in the past with nausea, mood swings, loss of libido. Turns out it must have just been the brand (or the progestin-only version) because I tolerate Sprintec just fine. Other than a slight increase in breast size, I’ve had no side effects whatsoever, and it’s helped my acne tremendously."

For Ovarian Cysts "Horrible medicine! I was on this medicine for ovarian cysts and to help regulate my cycles. The side effects are awful! I started having headaches, acne very bad (which I never get), sex drive is down, bloating/stomach cramps are horrible! Also, I noticed I was so much more hungry throughout the day! It didn’t help me for what I needed it to! I stopped taking this immediately!"

For Birth Control "I was put on Sprintec when I moved to the US since the brand I was on in the UK isn’t available here. I’ve taken Sprintec for 4 years until now when my pharmacy switched it with Mili. I feel like an idiot that I had no idea Sprintec was causing 0 sex drive and pain during intercourse, and it started when I moved to the US, so I can’t believe I didn’t put two and two together. It also caused breast tenderness and made me nauseous for 3 days at the beginning of every pack without fail. Hoping Mili provides relief from all those issues and kicking myself for putting up with those things for so many years. Did its job, but every woman is different, so make sure you don’t ignore any new symptoms when starting any pill."
