For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for about 6 months. It has been great for preventing pregnancy and keeping my face clear, besides the occasional breakout right before my period. BUT...about an hour or so after I take my pill, I get extremely nauseous. I've tried taking it with food or right before I eat, but nothing seems to help. It eventually goes away, but it's very frustrating to deal with it every day."

For Ovarian Cysts "My first pack, it's been fine for me. I usually experience a bit of nausea with birth control pills, and this one wasn't too bad at all! Breasts are pretty tender and seem to have grown a bit. I love that it's so cheap and does what it's intended to do. Before this, my insurance wouldn't cover birth control, so to me, this is a godsend."

For Birth Control "I just started Sprintec four days ago. This is the first birth control ever for me, I am 23. The main side effect on day one was nausea. I was so sick I slept by the trash can that night. It has been getting better, though. I will write an update review when I finish the first pack."

For Birth Control "I just started on this a week or two ago and haven't had sex since, so I don't know its effectiveness, but I have experienced side effects. The entire first week, I was nauseous for hours starting about four hours after I took it. I only puked once, though. Also, I have a loss of appetite. I'm usually very hungry all day, but since I started, I'm never hungry. I also experienced breast tenderness and sensitivity, which is not welcome since I sleep on my stomach. The nausea has gone away for the most part, but that may be due to lack of eating."

For Birth Control "I just started taking this yesterday. It's the first birth control pill since I attempted Yaz back in high school, so I can't really compare it to anything yet. Within two hours of taking the pill, I felt extremely moody and paranoid, like I wanted to punch someone. I also feel dizzy and out of it. The nausea is a bit annoying. I think it will take some getting used to, it has yet to make me have any cravings, which is awesome."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Sprintec for about 10 months. For the first few months, I was very nauseous all day long; the nauseousness was getting so bad I switched to taking it at night. After doing that, the next couple of months were fine; granted my periods were a day or two longer than usual, but I didn’t have any weight gain or enlarged breasts or anything. The last four months, I’ve been super depressed (even having suicidal thoughts), super emotional, throwing up in the morning at least once during the week, difficulty sleeping, all while being exhausted, my face is swollen, random period-like cramping when I’m not on my period, and I’ve even experienced leg cramps that feel like I have something blocked in my legs (it usually happens at night and becomes so annoying/painful that I can’t sleep). I’m not myself. I’ve contacted my doctor, and hopefully they’ll switch me. The pill works for preventing pregnancy, but it has definitely altered my life, mostly in a negative light."

For Birth Control "I'm twenty-five years old and still suffer from mild cystic acne. I did my research as far as using a contraceptive to combat acne goes and found that using a monophasic pill (which keeps your hormone levels at an even keel throughout the month), such as Sprintec, can sometimes be the best choice for young women. I've been on this birth control for about three months. It has cleared my skin like no other birth control pill I've used before. Another positive side effect as a result of taking Sprintec has been my breasts. I've gone up an entire cup size, with very little weight gain elsewhere. Cons: nausea. If I don't take the pill around the same time every day, and/or I take it on an empty stomach, this stuff makes me nauseous."

For Birth Control "I started taking this to prevent pregnancy, since I have light, painless periods and no acne. Even after a year, I had acne breakouts every month, significant cramping on my periods, loss of appetite, nausea, and mood swings/suicidal thoughts during my PMS week. I decided to switch after I kept waking up in the middle of the night with severe stomach pain. I'm sure it works fine for some women, and it did prevent pregnancy, but the side effects weren't worth it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This birth control is garbage. Doctor prescribed it to me for my irregular and extremely heavy periods due to PCOS, and this has actually made it worse. I can’t leave the house because of soaking through super tampons in less than an hour. Huge blood clots and severe nausea and vomiting. I wouldn’t recommend this “medicine” to my worst enemy."

For Birth Control "I never really write reviews, but I want to share this in case anyone else is experiencing the same thing and feels alone. I've been on Sprintec for 5 days, and it has been absolutely awful. I have thrown up every single day, I can't fall asleep, and last night I had a full-blown panic attack. I've had separate issues with depression/anxiety in the past, so if you have to, I really would not recommend this pill. I've been so emotional, nauseous, and just overall unpleasant. I'm done taking it."

For Birth Control "Never use this drug. I was on Sprintec for 3 weeks this past summer (2020), and I had horrible side effects, including extreme fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. I was also having some chest pain. My COVID tests kept coming back negative, so I thought nothing of it. I had been hiking, paddleboarding, jogging. Turns out, after finally going to the emergency room on a gut feeling, I suffered two pulmonary embolisms (blood clots), which traveled through my heart and to my lungs. They told me I am lucky to be alive. Women have died from birth control-induced blood clots. After looking into alternative reasons, it’s been determined that it was this birth control that caused it. Please don’t take this one, and be careful of other hormone-based birth controls. It’s uncommon for blood clots to occur, but if you are having any chest pain at all, or something doesn’t feel right, please seek medical care immediately! I had no idea something like this could happen."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Sprintec for about 3 weeks, haven't even started my period pills yet. So far, I am pleased with the results, I was getting the Depo shot before I switched to Sprintec. I switched because I never stopped bleeding on the Depo shot for almost a year, I bled. So far, no side effects, no weight gain, no headaches or nausea, and I actually think it is helping clear what little acne I had."

For Birth Control "The first month of Sprintec was a nightmare. I was nauseous every day to the point where I could not eat some days. My skin was not very bad before but got much worse on this pill. The pimples were painful and always covered my forehead. The moods I have experienced are the worst ever. I constantly want to cry, am angry, and sensitive to everything. Took for 3 months and so much increased anxiety, this drug isn't for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for 3 weeks now, I've got 3 blue pills left. I've been on 4 different kinds of birth control in the past, and I can honestly say that Sprintec has been my favorite! I have had no mood swings or weight gain, which is awesome. I had horrible weight gain with other birth controls. I have chronic migraines, and I haven't had any increase in them or any more acne than normal. I did have a very suppressed appetite at first, I was very hungry but would sit down to eat and just be nauseous at the thought. That only lasted a week and a half or so. My breasts have grown, which I'm not complaining about at all. All in all, I'm very pleased and would recommend Sprintec to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I love this pill. I just finished my first month, and the reviews scared me, but my life is exactly the same as it was before. Except, of course, I can have unprotected sex. Also, my period used to be such a heavy flow, but the period I had this month was 3 days - the first and last were basically just spotting, and the middle day was a pretty light flow. I have noticed some mood swings around my period, but nothing unmanageable. After the first few days on the pill, the nausea was gone. No weight gain, no breast enlargement, no acne. I love it."

For Birth Control "The pill did what it was supposed to do, but felt like I was taking a poison. I was sick and nauseated the whole time I was on it. I was always tired and ready for bed as well. It felt like I could never get enough sleep. I took it for only a month and a half and found out I had gotten a blood clot in my lung from it. Currently in the hospital now. So I will never take a birth control ever again in my life."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Sprintec for the past 6 months. The first day I started taking it, I got a really bad headache and nausea. Every time I start a new cycle, I get a light headache. I’ve gained about 10 pounds since I started; I blame it on the hormones because I exercise 5 times a week and have a good eating habit. Also, some mood swings are noticeable, but again, hormones. However, it regulated my period; I could go 2-3 months without getting it, and it also completely took away the cramps. It’s worked well, but I’m indecisive if I should continue using it because of the weight, headaches, and mood swings."

For Birth Control "In the first 2 weeks of taking these, I gained 5 lbs easy. It might just be water weight (I have read that that is normal), but it is definitely noticeable! In addition to the gained weight, I am nauseous ALL THE TIME and have constant headaches. I am a freakishly healthy eater, I exercise 6 days a week and all this has stayed the same. The only thing that I have changed in my routine is the inclusion of this medication. After reading about the experiences of others that are similar to mine, I'm going off of it ASAP."

For Birth Control "I've been using Sprintec for over a year now, and I honestly don't have too many complaints. For the first month, my breasts were tender, but it went away. My period comes exactly at the same time and day of the month. I don't usually miss a pill, but the few times I did, I ended up getting pretty sick at night for around 6 hours. I would throw up and have stomach pains; obviously, this could have been avoided. My sex drive has not decreased; if anything, it increased. I didn't have any skin breakout issues that I know were caused by Sprintec; my face is usually clear with the seldom pimple or two. It seems to be pretty effective in preventing pregnancy. I didn't experience any unusual mood swings or weight gain. Overall, I would recommend it."

For Birth Control "I am only three weeks into my very first pack of Sprintec birth control pill, and I had to stop. I was having awful car sickness, nausea, and vomiting frequently, and I wasn’t able to eat for several days because of such severe nausea and vomiting. My emotions were 1000% out of whack, and my severe anxiety didn’t help the nausea. I had to leave work because I was crying and nauseous. I’ve had such a hard journey with this pill. It did clear my acne, and it did help my frequent migraines, but this was just not for me. I hope maybe someone will read this and relate, or this medication is working better for y’all than it was for me."

For Endometriosis "I have been on Sprintec for almost 9 months now. My doctor prescribed it because I had abnormal periods with non-stop vomiting, serious IBS-like symptoms with blood in my stool, and heavy bleeding. She says that most probably I have endometriosis. Every month, for at least a week, my life became awful. I had to take at least two days off work per month. I also have fibroids with a history of myomectomy. Sprintec improved my life immensely. Now, I do not experience nausea and intestinal issues as often as before, and I do not have to take days off work anymore. The problem is that I have been on my period for two months now. Not even a normal day in between on which I don't have to wear a pad. The bleeding does not stop, and it is getting heavier and heavier. Last night, I experienced huge blood clots and cramps. I have also gained weight and have headaches all the time. I am so disappointed. I can't go back to my life before Sprintec, but now life is no fun either."

For Birth Control "I used Sprintec for about a year and a half, and I gained an immense amount of weight. Side effects would include sore breasts and nausea if I had to start over because I forgot. The week I stopped taking Sprintec, I lost about 5 lb, and it's been about a year since I've been off Sprintec, and without even trying, I lost 45 pounds. I also had very bad mood swings and became very emotional. On the good side, my acne cleared up, and my period was light and only lasted 4-5 days."

For Birth Control "I first got put on birth control in 2012 due to ovarian cysts. I tried 5 types in the past that didn't work for me. They either made me depressed, induced anxiety, headaches, acne, etc. I was on Aviane for roughly a year, it had the least amount of side effects, but I stopped in 2014 because of weight gain and anxiety. Now, 3 years later, I'm trying Sprintec to avoid getting pregnant. This is my first week, and so far so good. None of the side effects I had with the others. The first few days I was really nauseous, had a headache the 1st day, and I still don't have a strong appetite. I've actually lost 5 pounds, so I don't mind though. And my boobs look great. :) Will update more when I continue with this pill for longer."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 21, and I was put on this because of the abnormal bleeding I was having. I've been taking it for 3 weeks. I had a few of the other side effects that were listed. For the first week and a half, I was very emotional and just wanted to sleep and eat, but after I got through that, it was perfect. My face cleared up after the emotional roller coaster, I could manage my appetite, and could function regularly. I also had a little nausea in the afternoon because I take it right after breakfast. My cramps during ovulation were a little bit worse than before but tolerable and short-lasting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, but then again, it will affect everyone differently."
