For Birth Control "I used Sprintec for about a year and a half, and I gained an immense amount of weight. Side effects would include sore breasts and nausea if I had to start over because I forgot. The week I stopped taking Sprintec, I lost about 5 lb, and it's been about a year since I've been off Sprintec, and without even trying, I lost 45 pounds. I also had very bad mood swings and became very emotional. On the good side, my acne cleared up, and my period was light and only lasted 4-5 days."

For Birth Control "I first got put on birth control in 2012 due to ovarian cysts. I tried 5 types in the past that didn't work for me. They either made me depressed, induced anxiety, headaches, acne, etc. I was on Aviane for roughly a year, it had the least amount of side effects, but I stopped in 2014 because of weight gain and anxiety. Now, 3 years later, I'm trying Sprintec to avoid getting pregnant. This is my first week, and so far so good. None of the side effects I had with the others. The first few days I was really nauseous, had a headache the 1st day, and I still don't have a strong appetite. I've actually lost 5 pounds, so I don't mind though. And my boobs look great. :) Will update more when I continue with this pill for longer."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 21, and I was put on this because of the abnormal bleeding I was having. I've been taking it for 3 weeks. I had a few of the other side effects that were listed. For the first week and a half, I was very emotional and just wanted to sleep and eat, but after I got through that, it was perfect. My face cleared up after the emotional roller coaster, I could manage my appetite, and could function regularly. I also had a little nausea in the afternoon because I take it right after breakfast. My cramps during ovulation were a little bit worse than before but tolerable and short-lasting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, but then again, it will affect everyone differently."

For Birth Control "So I have been taking Sprintec for a year now, and at first I got a bit of nausea the first 3 weeks. Then there would be months I would not get my period at all, or it would only last 2-3 days. Also, I was very emotional and very good at communicating my feelings to others. I have lost many family members recently, and I have not cried in months. I noticed a lot of women get “crazy” on the pill, but it did the total opposite of it to me. I am in the search for a new brand."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this medication for 3 weeks, and I’m not totally sold on it. Early pros: I don’t feel as anxious. Early cons: severe nausea, headaches, diarrhea, increased acne, tender breasts. I’ve tried almost every birth control on the market; this certainly isn’t the worst, but it’s still not a winner. I can’t wait till they come out with a birth control for men."

For Birth Control "My stomach has been causing me a lot of pain, and my nipples are so tender for weeks on end! If my stomach isn't hurting, I'm hungry CONSTANTLY and tend to overeat even if I'm full, which is very unlike me usually. My depression is now much more random and intense, I am SO EXHAUSTED AND HAVE NO ENERGY ALL THE TIME! If anything, my home life and sleep schedule have improved in the last couple of months, so it has to be this medication causing this constant exhaustion. I do not skip any periods, I occasionally will take my pill without food, but rarely. I'm concerned because the nausea is causing me to miss work, which is a big NO for me. I may need to switch to something else, but I'm hoping as time goes by it will get better since I've only been using it for 2 months, but so far THIS MONTH IS MUCH WORSE than the last. I do believe it has helped prevent pregnancy, but only 2 months isn't enough time to know for sure."

For Birth Control "I've been on this certain kind of BC for about 3 months now. The pill does its job, but I constantly feel sick to my stomach and have absolutely no appetite. I have to make myself eat during the day. Everyone's body adjusts differently, but I wouldn't recommend."

For Birth Control "I've been in this BC for about 8 months now. And it is perfect! I take my pills every day at the SAME time. I've gained a couple pounds but not too many. No pain or bleeding. My cycle comes at the same time every month. Very light for about 3-5 days. I have experienced a little nausea after taking my pills if I hadn't eaten yet. So I recommend eating and staying hydrated with this BC. But overall, I think this is a very good BC for anyone. No major side effects. I really recommend!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for about six years now, and for the most part, it has worked well. I have had no pregnancy scares, no hormonal mood swings, and very little spotting in between period weeks. However, recently, after period week, I have become extremely nauseous in the mornings. (And no, I am not pregnant.) Also, my cramps have worsened."

For Birth Control "This medication makes me nauseous and shaky, and gives me headaches daily. I have PCOS and fibroids, and I suffer from cramps daily and cervix pain, and this birth control makes it so much worse. I do NOT recommend."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking this pill for extremely heavy, painful periods that occur twice a month with constant spotting in between. Basically, I was bleeding all the time. I also have terrible cystic acne around my jawline when I’m menstruating. The first two weeks have been terrible. I was so nauseous every day of the first week that I vomited at work. The second week, the nausea has improved. However, I started cramping with a “high-pitched,” sharp, pinchy kind of uterine pain I’ve never felt before. I’ve been bleeding, but it’s somehow different than normal period bleeding. It HAS caused me to gain weight. It may be water weight, but I can still see it and feel it, and it still weighs something on the scale, so it counts as weight gain. It has made my skin less oily already, however, so I’m going to continue to take it until I’ve had enough or don’t start seeing improvement."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Took it due to heavy, long periods. Technically, it did help. My periods went from 7 to 8 days to 4 or 5, and bleeding was cut down to a third of what it was before. Also, it really helped with my acne. However, that's where the good stuff ends. I experienced HORRIBLE menstrual pains at least 7 days before my period that would last until its end. I experienced depression worse than I ever had before during my entire time on the pill (about 7 months). The first 3 months were also a nightmare with nausea, migraines, and constant bleeding. Overall, if your gyno suggests this to you to help heavy periods, ask for a lower estrogen birth control. This pill isn't worth the trauma."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec for my endometriosis in November. My cramps are less severe, my acne has improved. So as far as my condition is concerned, the medicine works. However, the negative effects totally outweigh the positive. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in almost a month, I am horribly depressed, I cry several times a day, and I am nauseated whenever I don't eat right away."

For Birth Control "Currently, I am 22, and since high school, my skin has been constantly broken out. Seeing a dermatologist multiple times a year and being on everything from antibiotics to spironolactone and topical retinoids with little to no improvement, then I realized it was my hormones. I never have had severe acne but extremely moderate acne and a bad picking habit. My acne began with my first BC prescription. First on NuvaRing, then Lutera, and most recently, the Skyla IUD for the last 3 years. I loved Skyla (the convenience) of Skyla, but finally realized it’s not worth constantly broken out skin. Actually, all the birth control I had been on previously contained a type of progesterone that caused an influx of acne. Now I am on the third week of my first pack, and it is going well. The first time taking the pill, I took it before bed and woke up the next morning nauseous, but ate and it went away. Also, I have seen an improvement in my skin. The first couple of days on the pill I felt moody, but now I feel good."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Sprintec for 7 months. It’s not perfect, but I’ve had a fairly positive experience with it compared to other BC pills, which caused severe mood swings, depression, and constant nausea. I have gained weight on this pill, which isn’t great (my diet hasn’t changed and exercise has increased). My acne-prone skin has been doing great, however, and is clear. I always get one minor breakout the week before placebo/withdrawal bleeding. I also experience nausea and minor mood swings in the 2-3 days leading up to my withdrawal bleed. These side effects have all been very consistent and predictable for me, which I haven’t found on any other pill. So aside from the stubborn weight, I’m happy with this BC."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Sprintec for over 3 years now for severe bleeding and pain during menstruation. Sprintec has helped lessen the bleeding and pain during menstruation, however, the buildup of this drug in my body has slowly caused so many side effects, which have severely hindered my quality of life. The following are side effects that I have experienced while on Sprintec: 1. Daily nausea 2. Worsening of chronic migraines and daily headaches 3. Severe dizziness/light-headedness 4. Visual changes (blurred vision) 5. Acne so bad that I had to be treated for infections of my hair follicles 6. Worsened depression. Again, these severe side effects took years to occur."

For Birth Control "I would just like to say that I went off Sprintec birth control because I thought I could find better, but this new one I'm on makes this one look like a golden goose egg! The only issue I had with this birth control was nausea, but you get that with any birth control. I got used to it in just one week. I miss this birth control and am currently contacting my doctor to get back on it. Everybody's body is different, yes... BUT THIS ONE REALLY WORKS AND HELPS ME..."

For Birth Control "My insurance no longer covers Ortho Tri-Cyclen LO, so I had to switch to Sprintec, which I assume is the generic version. The first thing I noticed is that the pills were quite a bit larger, which may have no effect on anything at all. I have been experiencing severe nausea, as well as loss of appetite and fatigue. I understand that it probably takes some time for the body to get used to the hormones. However, I am surprised at how strong my symptoms are, considering I never went off BC entirely, just switched brands. I learned early on to take BC medication before bed to ease the nausea, but this really hasn't helped with the Sprintec. I look forward to the improvement in my complexion that others have reported!"

For Birth Control "I'm finishing up my third month of Sprintec. I'm 19 and had never taken birth control previously. The first few months, I experienced the normal side effects - nausea in the morning, dizziness, feeling a bit out of it mentally. Sprintec has given me lighter periods, but that is the only plus. Last month, when I was halfway through my sugar pill week, I began to feel extremely numb emotionally and unable to feel happy about anything, not even my long-term relationship. I couldn't shake the depression until I started my next pill pack. This month, the depression is starting on my third row of active pills. If it continues, I am going to the doctor to change meds. Never sacrifice your mental and emotional health for shorter periods and clearer skin."

For Birth Control "I'm 20, and I'm on my second pack with Sprintec. I recently had a baby in January, so I needed birth control considering I was still going to be sexually active. The doctor told me to try this because I suffered with terrible acne. My face is the clearest it's ever been! Pores are smaller, acne scars are fading, and everything. BUT I've recently been feeling nauseous on and off during the day along with diarrhea. I'm going to continue taking it in hopes that these side effects will chill out. Along with that, my period came as expected once it was time to take the 'reminder pills.' I did have a heavier period that only lasted 5-4 days, though. Inexpensive and does its job."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec the second week of August, followed by my period. Ever since I started the pill, I've experienced feeling nauseous, vomiting, morning sickness, my sex drive was low, and depression. I wouldn't want to be around anyone and was just always sad. I also experienced weight gain, which wasn't a problem. But I haven't stopped bleeding since I started the first pack. And I don't think I can handle being depressed for another two months."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for over 2 years with no complications, then, all of a sudden, I started to get horrible abdominal pain and nausea (I seriously thought I was dying), and no one could figure out why!!!! At least 2 trips to the ER, CT scans, blood work, urine tests, nothing showed up. Multiple trips to my gyno, prompt cares, hours on the phone. I noticed my pain would always go away for a week, later figuring out that was when I was on my sugar pill week!! 4 months of pain, $3,000 in debt later, and no doctor ever questioning my birth control (I thought nothing of it because I was on it for 2 years with no problems). I quit taking my birth control, and all of my pain went away!! This stuff is horrible, and I will never take birth control again."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I absolutely do not recommend this pill to anyone. I was given the RX because I have been bleeding for 10 weeks, passing several clots, and I became weak and dizzy a few days ago. They told me my other pill was not strong or good enough. This is my 2nd day, and I've thrown up nearly all day. My stomach has ached and cramped so very badly that not even the hydrocodone RX'd will ease the pain. My vision is blurry, and my head is in a constant pounding sensation. I am still weak, and I am still bleeding! Probably wouldn't even give this pill to my dog to prevent her from getting pregnant, it is not worth it, and no, it wasn't worth the money!"
