For Birth Control "My GYN prescribed it. She said I could have unprotected sex seven days later. The first day I took it, I felt nauseous, but I expected it because I did my research. I had unprotected sex on the eighth day-4 days before my expected period. My period then was late. I thought I was pregnant, but the test results were negative. I then had a horrible migraine lasting for more than one week-on and off during the day. I never get migraines. My cramps were horrible, and I felt like I was dying. I had really bad neck aches, back aches, and leg aches. I was supposed to try it for 3 months then report to my GYN, but I couldn't do it."

For Birth Control "I'm just starting on my second week of pills, and I've had no side effects so far! I take it at 8:30 every night, but I usually don't fall asleep until 11, and I haven't felt any nausea or sickness! I think it has started to clear up my skin, which is the main reason I started taking it. This is the first birth control I've ever tried, and I love it!"

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Sprintec since my last birth control pill completely killed my skin, but I am so happy with what Sprintec has done for my skin. My only side effect is nausea and lack of appetite. The other day, I full-on threw up my lunch just from nausea. I am super athletic and training for a triathlon, so the nausea sometimes makes it difficult to eat. Other than that, my breasts are a bit more swollen... everything else is amazing!!!! Very happy with Sprintec - glad to have my clear skin back and my sanity back."

For Birth Control "Just started Sprintec about two weeks ago. I get it for unwanted pregnancy/cystic acne. Day two on the pill and I was EXTREMELY nauseous. I literally was crawling to the toilet, and my stomach was doing backflips, but I avoided throwing up because it wouldn’t be effective then. I also was really, really hot even in an ice-cold room. I’m trying to get through these first couple of weeks so I can stay on it, but it is a little rough on me. I cannot bear the stomach cramps and hot flashes. I will sacrifice the side effects, though, instead of having a baby. I just wish I didn’t feel like death right now. I will continue to stick it out."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for 2 weeks now and have been great! I did a lot of research before I started. I take it at night since your body is more prone to sickness taking it right in the morning. I haven't had any nausea or huge side effects. I was so hungry the first week. I would eat dinner, take the pill, then get immediately hungry again. But now that has gone away, and it's just a pill to me. If this pill makes you sick, try changing how you take it or when. Try everything before you give up."

For Birth Control "First month on Sprintec, and no pregnancies. Didn’t notice any weight gain other than my boobs getting bigger. I take it before bed, so I’m assuming I sleep through the nausea. There was one time I did stay up after taking it and ended up getting so nauseous I ended up vomiting. Skip to the end of the month (I’m on my period, so maybe this might be the issue), I now have extremely dry skin, and my face is breaking out. I’ve always had clear skin up until this week. My skin is now very dry, has major cracking, and a ton of breaking out. This happened on my period previously, but never this bad. I’ve changed my face routine to something more gentle and have been moisturizing frequently to try to fix the cracking. This has been helping with the dryness, but I’m waiting for the acne to clear up. I’m going to give the pill a bit more time so my body can adjust to it, and if this doesn’t stop, then I will look into a new birth control alternative."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for a year now. It is good in that it's only $9, it has prevented pregnancy, and periods are only a few days. Every time I start a new pack (after period), I get severely nauseated for several days, so I am finally going to go back to the doctor and try something different. During certain times, I have very swollen and tender breasts, but that's not too awful to bear."

For Birth Control "Although this medicine prevented pregnancy, I've had two pregnancy scares in 6 months due to the side effects of this pill. Nausea, exhaustion to the point of leaving work to nap, swollen breasts and nipples, bloating, cramping two weeks before the period and still during the period, headaches, waking up sweaty at night, white discharge, and heartburn. All the symptoms of pregnancy, but my period came at the exact time it always does, and my cramps are normal. Please be cautious. I told my coworker that I would be willing to stop having sex until I was married if this meant not having these scares and feeling miserable on this medicine."

For Birth Control "I went on this birth control to clear up my moderate acne. After just completing the fourth month of this pill, my skin is completely clear. The first couple of months I didn't really see any changes, but around the third month I saw slow progress. Other side effects I've experienced are weight loss, loss of appetite, and manageable nausea that has recently gotten better but still occurs on a daily basis. I don't have any mood swings that I've experienced with other birth control. Super happy with the results!!"

For Birth Control "So far, I would give this a 10. I'm on my second week and not a single negative side effect. No nausea, no moodiness. It's even increased my sex drive (which my boyfriend and I both love about it). My skin has started to look clearer, and I feel happy on the pill. I'm looking forward to seeing how well it treats me!"

For Birth Control "I switched from the Depo shot to Sprintec. If you are going from a different type of BC, then I don't really think you will see all of the side effects. With the shot, I lost hair, gained weight, got moody, and people say they experience these things from the pill too. On Sprintec, I was a little sick to my stomach the first week, but now it has reduced down to nothing. You will get a few side effects that you will not like when taking any kind of BC with hormones, however, think about a little sacrifice you are willing to make in order to not have an unplanned pregnancy."

For Ovarian Cysts "About 4 1/2 years ago, I had surgery to remove a corpus luteum cyst and another cyst that burst. Since then, I have been on Sprintec with no other cyst-related problems. I have no mood swings, nausea, depression... basically no negative side effects, except for a little weight gain. I can't complain about that."

For Ovarian Cysts "In May of 2011, I wound up in the ER because I couldn't stand or walk. I was in the middle of our local mall and started experiencing horrible pain in the pelvic region, as well as severe hot and cold flashes. I was misdiagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease and was given several medications, including prescription hydrocodone. None of them touched the pain. Eventually, doctors realized that I was having cysts on both ovaries at the same time. They put me on Sprintec, which is affordable, and I have had no pain! It was hard for me to adjust to. Soreness in breasts and nausea, but my body has adapted to it, and I have been on it for four months now, and I love it."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control. I was on another brand until insurance wouldn't cover any longer, was told this was the same thing. It is NOT. I have never had such severe anxiety and depression in my life. Lightheaded every day, out of it and foggy brain, tired, cranky, nauseous. I feel as though I don't control my own mind and body anymore. Stopped taking last week and am hoping the side effects go away soon. Please listen to me when I say, do not take this one - it will mess up your hormones and has the worst side effects of any birth control on the market."

For Ovarian Cysts "I got on Sprintec to try to fix acne and stop getting ovarian cysts. I haven't had an ovarian cyst for either month, and I've had at least one for 7 months in a row before starting this. At first, my back and chest broke out, which wasn't normal, and my face acne didn't get better or worse. My back and chest have been healing, and my face still is about the same, maybe a little better. My boobs hurt pretty bad for the whole first month but have felt better and almost back to normal now. I do feel nauseous, but I did before from ovarian cysts too, so I'm not sure if that's because of the birth control. I have felt hungry a lot from this, I think, but I haven't gained weight from it. I haven't had mood swings out of the ordinary. The biggest complaint I have about this is that my period cramps usually happened the first day or two and then went away, and on Sprintec, it's hurt the whole time I've been on my period. I'm also not pregnant, so it's doing its job on that part. So, overall, not complaining!"

For Birth Control "I started using Sprintec after requesting a pill that helped reduce acne. The 1st month I was on the pill I was extremely nauseated without vomiting during the day. It gradually decreased, and I currently experience no nausea at all in my 3rd month. Literally, the only other con of this pill is that I have gained about 5-7 lbs., which is significant for me because I am 5'0 and have always maintained the exact same weight. On the bright side, my skin is MUCH clearer with very few breakouts (they are somewhat more frequent when I am on my period). I have NO cramps, which is huge for me because they used to be almost debilitating. My bra cup size has also increased from a 'B' to a 'C', and I feel less moody while on my period."

For Birth Control "Pros: get rid of heavy cramps, lightens your flow, and makes your breasts a little bigger. Cons: every month it seems like I have new symptoms. The first month, nausea and a loss of appetite, the second, I had really bad acne and a huge black spot on my face (I’m assuming this is from the pill, I always had great skin), and this month I’m extremely sensitive. I cried for a while this month without any real reason for me being sad."

For Ovarian Cysts "The only reason I gave this birth control a 2 was because it made my periods last two days, and my acne wasn't as bad. That's the only good thing I have to say about it. It has my anxiety come back, severe nausea, bad acid reflux, migraines, mood swings, insomnia, depression at times, and extremely tender breasts. It's hard to go off someone else's experiences because everyone is different."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for 3 months, and I thought my side effects would get better as time went on, when in reality it's only gotten worse. I feel nauseous every day, I don't ever want to eat. My doctor told me to take it with protein, but every time I eat, I feel even worse. I've been losing sleep every night from feeling so sick in my stomach. I feel really depressed, and my anxiety is through the roof! My follow-up appointment is in a few days, I cannot wait to get off of this!"

For Birth Control "I just started this pill, and I am already having so many issues. I came online to see if anyone else was experiencing the same things, and thank goodness I found these comments so I knew I wasn’t alone. Since being on Sprintec, I have had horrible headaches and painful acne. And that’s just the beginning, I have also started gaining weight even though I just started the pill. I have had major car sickness, and the worst part is that I have had some spotting and some serious mood swings. I go from crying my eyes out one minute to so mad I could scream the next. It’s making me feel anxious, depressed, irritable, and just overall not like my usual self."

For Birth Control "When I first started Sprintec, I bled for three weeks straight. My periods got ridiculously heavier (every day was a heavy day, and they lasted a week). I also got sick on the first day of my period like clockwork, essentially being confined to the bathroom on that day. Additionally, I started to have anxiety attacks about three times a week and had extreme depression with suicidal thoughts. I started losing it over nothing. I pushed my fiancé away because I found him repelling and called off our wedding. Within about a week of throwing away these pills, I was finally back to 'normal' and had to pick up the pieces left in my wake. This drug ruined my life!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my second week of Sprintec. I started taking these because I already have the Paragard IUD, and it was giving me heavy periods, cramping before, during, and after periods, and I also had very thick, stringy discharge. My doctor put me on Sprintec temporarily because the extra boost of hormones should help my condition. So far, the side effects have been minor. I noticed it is starting to help with my acne, and my discharge has thinned, but it also has an odor. Almost immediately after taking a pill, I get dry mouth and start to get hungry. Eating small meals or skipping meals is not an option after taking it. If I don't eat a decent-sized meal to calm my hunger, I get weak with nausea. I also get somewhat jittery."

For Endometriosis "Remember everyone’s body reacts differently to birth control, so don’t let the reviews scare you from trying. I decided to take Sprintec after my friend was on it and had no problems. The first month I had bad nausea, and my cramps were worse than before. But after the second pack, the cramps were better, and I had less bleeding then. Besides the first couple of weeks, I experienced no mood changes. I have normally acne-prone skin and get breakouts before my period. But on the second month of Sprintec, I had the worst cystic acne I have ever had in my life. My face was completely covered in painful breakouts. I decided to stay on it until I completed my third pack to see if my body was adjusting to it. But after the third month, it continued to breakout. My doctor decided I should stop taking it. After stopping taking it, my skin drastically cleared up. It took three months off of it to 100% clear up my skin to normal. So if you have acne-prone skin or get breakouts around your period, I would not recommend this."

For Birth Control "This pill, man. I have been taking Sprintec since December after being on LoLoestrin for about a year. I'm going to start with the pros: I have regular periods, and this is super cost-effective. That being said, I can't handle the anxiety triggered by this medication anymore. Initially, I was feeling nauseated/dizzy, and the breast tenderness was horrible for the first month and a half. I decided to give this pill a fighting chance and thug it out for three or so months. Having always suffered from some sort of anxiety, I tried to deal with the intensifying of my panic attacks as my body became accustomed to this medication, but so far the symptoms seem to be getting worse instead of better. I'm not saying I'm unable to function, but when I start having palpitations at a grocery store because it's crowded on a weekend, I know something isn't normal. Everything else about this pill was fine, I didn't gain weight or get any acne, it just doesn't agree with my body chemistry."

For Endometriosis "I've been taking Sprintec for 8 months. I take it continuously, skipping the placebo pills. It has helped my endometriosis, but the breakthrough bleeding is non-stop. It's awful. I'm swapping to another pill to see if I can get the bleeding to lessen. I'm sad it didn't work to prevent periods because it didn't cause any nausea or weight gain. Other pills I've tried in the past caused both! Fingers crossed for the next one..."
