For Birth Control "Let me start this by saying, everybody is different, and will react differently to anything hormonal. I started Sprintec in 2017 at the age of 16. It was my first ever pill, and it wasn’t that bad. I took it as religiously as I could (only missed a pill or two, and if I did miss one, I took it early the following day) and had little side effects. Granted, before getting on it, I barely had a period, and when I did, it varied drastically. Sprintec never made my period easier, it just made it regular. I still had it for 5-6 days, and it was moderate. I had bad cramps the first three days, but the rest of the cycle was easy. I’ve always had anxiety, but Sprintec did make my worries more active than usual. I never got pregnant, and I was definitely happy about that! However, in 2021, as a 21-year-old, I had to switch birth control, as I experienced breakthrough bleeding. Then my doctor prescribed me Junel FE (worst thing ever)."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I’ve been taking this pill since I was 16, now I’m 18. I skipped one period last month. Now it’s February, and I’ve been bleeding for literally 2 weeks! I feel hopeless now, seeing the reviews. I know it’s the pill. How can I bleed for 14 days!"

For Birth Control "I never leave reviews, but after reading all the negative reviews of Sprintec, I had to share my honest experience. I've been taking Sprintec for 2 years. At first, I would feel nausea, my doctor recommended I took it at night before bed. Doing that helped with the nausea. Also, you must take this pill at the same time every day, or you will experience breakthrough bleeding. This is due to it being such a low-dose BC pill. I love it. It definitely has helped clear my skin of acne. I can't say I gained weight since being on the pill because I work out regularly."

For Birth Control "I used to take Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for years with absolutely no issues. My insurance stopped covering it late spring of 2017, and I was switched to Tri-Lo Sprintec. It was fine until July when I started bleeding twice a month. In October, after having an ultrasound that came back normal, my OB switched me to Sprintec because the hormones are higher. I just finished my third pack. I’m still bleeding twice a month, and on top of that, I have gained 23 pounds since October, which is really scary given my diet and lifestyle hasn’t changed. I’m going to stop with this birth control to see if my periods regulate. It might even be worth paying out of pocket for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo."

For Birth Control "Does the job. I haven't gotten pregnant, but in the 3 months I have been taking it, I have been experiencing breakthrough bleeding, headaches almost every morning, nausea, weight gain, and feeling overly emotional. I'm going to find a new birth control."

For Endometriosis "I just started these pills this month and started my period the Saturday before Christmas, and I'm on the white pill that is supposed to start your period on, and I'm still having it. If it keeps up, I will also be having my period for 2 weeks. I'm getting tired of bleeding and the pain that comes with it. Thank you."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My first time using this medicine, I took it on the first of my spotting, however, my period didn't come even after 10 days. I had even heavier bleeding than before, and my emotions were terrible, and I felt depressed during that week of taking this medicine. Eventually, I had to talk to my doctor and switch to another medicine."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for three months now. It has made me lose my appetite almost completely. I find myself eating once a day, if that, because nothing sounds or looks good. I have lost 15 pounds since I started it, which is okay unless I keep losing weight. I have no mood swings or cramps, and my period is predictable and comes on the same day each month. However, my face broke out insanely the second month and is just now clearing up, and I bled/spotted for almost a whole month the second month."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz, but the problem with it is that it causes breakthrough bleeding and has a higher rate of cysts. Sprintec is very effective and regulates the period the best so far. However, my acne has worsened a lot. If you don't have acne, I'd recommend it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Another lovely review for Sprintec, though I know symptoms vary for everyone, resolving them is the problem that’s yet to be solved. I’ve been bleeding for over 4 weeks now, I’ve gotten dermatitis at the same time, and all I’ve been doing is healthy habits and Sprintec. Not only have I stopped taking it entirely 5 days ago, but the bleeding has now intensified. Waiting for my new prescription to stop the bleeding. Waiting for this pill to be canceled. Probably will have to see a dermatologist and OBGYN to fix both problems, can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I stayed on it. Symptoms have yet to subside, though, to this day. Wish I never started, wish the doctor that prescribed was more keen on the sensitivities I voiced earlier on."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I have been on Sprintec for 12 weeks. Always bled more frequently. Went to ER to find that my bleeding (darker reddish brown) of 18+ days is due to a uterine fibroid. 2.7 cm. I am a 'lucky one' to actually have fibroid symptoms besides the bleeding. After research, for one to grow to 3 cm (size of walnut), it is 10 weeks old. Now I'm not thinking it is a coincidence that it developed and grew once I started Sprintec. And it feeds on the hormones of birth control, especially estrogen. Don't wait... See a doctor and quit Sprintec!"

For Birth Control "I experienced a LOT of breakthrough bleeding in the beginning. I also experienced mood swings. The breakthrough bleeding has stopped and my mood is better now. I have experienced no weight gain. I've actually lost 10 lbs, but I am trying to lose weight. My boobs got a little fuller. I had a little bit of acne at first, but nothing terrible, I just rarely get breakouts. Periods are a little lighter, a little less painful, but last about 6-7 days. Sex drive has plummeted."

For Birth Control "This pill is so awful. I have been on it for 9 months. I have gained 10 lbs so far, even though my eating habits have not changed. I have had almost constant breakthrough bleeding for the entire 9 months. Some days are barely noticeable, but others are like a regular period. I feel tired and unmotivated to do things I used to enjoy. I have decided to stop taking this pill at the end of this pack. I've had enough. Side effects are not worth it."

For Birth Control "It was okay. I guess everyone's body reacts differently, but for me, I bled a lot on this medication. The first two months, I would bleed for two solid weeks. My doctor told me to stick it out for three months. Month three and four, it cleared up, my period began like normal during sugar pills. Then month five and six, the bleeding started happening again, even though I took my pills very regularly. I went off because I was sick of the bleeding, I never had this issue before. It affected my moods too. On the pill, I had constant gloomy, negative thoughts. It caused me to tire quickly, and I didn't want to interact with people. Off the pill, I am way more positive and energetic. Now I feel like my old, normal self. I'm never going back to this pill."

For Birth Control "The issues I was having are gone, but the ones I didn't experience before this medicine have started. Before, I had heavy bleeding during 7-day long periods and severe migraines the day before. Now, I bleed lightly for 3 days, and the migraines are gone. But I used to only get an occasional pimple, and now I'm constantly broken out, and the cramps have been pretty bad. I'm on my third month of it, and overall my mood has improved, and the migraines and heavy bleeding ending have made it worth it for me."

For Birth Control "I'm 22, normal weight, healthy. I was nauseous and broke out for the first week. My boobs were basically always tender, but they also swelled (I'm like an A cup, so I saw that as a plus). I have always been an easy crier, and it did intensify that. I've always had a low libido, so I don't think it changed much (although my libido went way up after getting off of Sprintec). I was sad to have to get off it because I had such minor side effects, but the issue I had was bleeding for 7 months. It was light - I went through about 2 panty liners per day and didn't need to sleep in anything - until the last week when I got fed up. I bled so much that I was blacking out and feeling sick. I stopped cold turkey and got headaches, but the bleeding is over!!!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I started this pill on Wed, Dec. 11th, which is when my menstrual cycle started. I had brown discharge until Saturday night. Sunday morning, I have been gushing blood. I have gone through 4 super plus tampons and level 5 'diaper' pads daily. It's Tuesday morning, Dec. 17th, and I've decided to not take another pill until my doctor calls me back to tell me differently. I've never bled like this without the pill, and I have a fibroid the size of a grapefruit in me. I'm scared to continue this pill, especially with the reviews. I hope I don't continue to bleed like this, and I hope I haven't thrown off my cycle for the next few months. I'm getting married in March 2020, and I have been very careful to time my wedding around my body. Sigh. Good luck, everyone. I'll definitely check in with an update before the end of this week."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for two months now, and my doctor had told me that if I wanted to skip my period, I could just skip over the white and jump right into the next pack. So, after deciding to do so, I've been bleeding for the past week now unexpectedly throughout the day. I have never had acne before, but now that I've been on Sprintec, my forehead has been spotting. Also, my breasts have become larger, I believe, but sore to touch almost every day. I have gained about 10 lbs from it, and my sex drive is gone about halfway through activity. And I've also been feeling bloated. I'm not totally satisfied with the product, but not totally dissatisfied since it obviously works. Debating going off it though."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "First time on Sprintec. I was previously on TriSprintec. First period being on this BC, and I have never had cramping so bad in my life. I am also bleeding heavier than I ever have. I am having to change my tampon every hour to hour and a half at this point. I will be stopping this BC immediately because of this."

"18 years old, taken for one year due to a severe menstrual cycle that caused me to miss school. I took it near-continuously, skipping the placebo pills unless I forgot a day. On average, I had a pill period every three months, which was much better than my normal periods. IMPORTANT: this medication is to prevent, not suppress, periods. If you have frequent or abnormal breakthrough bleeding, listen to your body and let yourself have a period. Desire was gone, but taking the pill an hour later than usual for two days changed that, giving me more control. My acne is gone, my grades are better, I am more fit, and I feel more independent. This medication has greatly improved my life, and I highly recommend it for women who are physically mature."

For Birth Control "I just started taking the pill, and 2 and a half weeks in, my period started. It was a regular/light flow, but the cramps are horrible. I've never had cramps like that, and it lasted for six days straight, not to mention I'm going on 10 days still bleeding, a regular flow, and it doesn't look to lighten up anytime soon. I thought it would lighten and shorten periods, but I'm having an opposite reaction."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec because I was on Aviane and did not like it at all. I would bleed every week for 3 or 4 days, and it wasn't like I was spotting, it was almost a full-on period. So I called my doctor and asked her if she had anything stronger she could put me on, and she put me on Sprintec. I'm in a great mood every day, I have gone from a 34B to 34C, and it's not expensive."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec at 15 to regulate my periods and as a birth control and have been on it for the past 4 years. During the first month, I experienced mood swings and irritability, but by the 3rd month, I was fine. It's eased my period symptoms (terrible cramping and fatigue) and proven highly effective as a birth control. I've recently experienced breakthrough bleeding from taking it inconsistently and am going to take a break from it. I definitely recommend this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had an abortion in April 2017 and bled the way you should after an abortion, like having a baby. I was given this birth control due to no insurance and started taking it. I missed a period for a month, then my period came on, and I've been bleeding now for 16 days, and I have not stopped. This is the absolute worst. I am hoping my Medicaid kicks in so I can go back to NuvaRing."

For Gonadotropin Inhibition "I have been on Sprintec for about 2 months. My specialist recommended this after I was on the generic Seasonale and had huge trouble with constant breakthrough bleeding. Well, Sprintec is not much different. I have been bleeding non-stop for the last 2 weeks. What's different from Seasonale is: the cramps during the endless breakthrough bleeding came in waves and were much worse than period cramping. With Sprintec, the cramps are more often and less severe. The bleeding is about the same, I still get blood on my panties, making me angry. I'm going to fill up my prescription one or two more times and see if anything changes for the better. If not, then I guess I need a checklist on every birth control I can try and see which one is best. Ugh."
