For Birth Control "I’m sure this BC works for some people, but it did not for me. I had the worst nausea of my life, I had to stop taking it. I also had bad headaches and was so tired from not being able to eat or sleep. I will definitely be switching to a progesterone-only BC, this has too much estrogen for me."

"For me, this was a zero-star drug. Two hours after I took my first pill, I had stomach cramping and diarrhea. I stuck with it for another week, thinking my body would adjust. I could barely eat because even white rice caused stomach pain and diarrhea. The last night I took it, I had such horrific abdominal cramping I was curled up on the floor. My doctor was concerned about my gallbladder, liver, or pancreas, but after running tests, it turns out it was just this horrible pill."

For Birth Control "I’m on my fourth month of Mono-Linyah, and I have zero side effects now that I’m past the adjustment phase. I was on a pill a couple of years ago for a brief time, but I felt it was messing with my mood and mental health, so I went off it. When I got my new prescription a few months ago, I told my doctor this, and she had me try a non-phasic pill instead (Mono-Linyah). So far, I have zero complaints!"

For Birth Control "I think oftentimes we assume that side effects will not happen, but I began taking this a week prior to my wedding. I am 38, do not smoke, and do not have any significant medical history. My health is good, and I eat healthy. After a week of taking this, we traveled to Vegas (3-hour plane ride), plus took a drive over to California and back. Throughout all the traveling, we made frequent stops, etc. We were on vacation for a week. When I returned home, I began experiencing shortness of breath. I ended up in the hospital ICU for three days with many peripheral blood clots in all my lung lobes but one, and will be on blood thinners indefinitely until I finish my workup with Hematology. I realize everyone is different, but just exercise caution and weigh your options!!"

For Endometriosis "Was told this was the generic version of Sprintec that works just as well, that was a lie. I take birth control for my endometriosis and painful periods, but since I have been on this BC, I've been cramping and spotting every single day for 2 months. When I was on Sprintec, this never happened. I won't be taking this BC anymore."

For Birth Control "I took Mono-Linyah for almost a year and a half with no negative side effects. However, I wasn't taking it to prevent pregnancy, I was taking it because I experience incredibly painful period cramps for unknown reasons. It helped clear up my acne, stopped my cramps almost completely, and I think it might have helped alleviate some of my general anxiety, but that's just my own theory. I stopped taking Mono-Linyah for a few months, and when I started taking birth control again, they randomly put me on Sprintec, which did horrible things to my body. So if you're in a similar situation to me, maybe try Mono-Linyah or ask your gyno about something similar."

For Birth Control "I was on this for 2 months. I wanted to give it a chance. Immediately upon taking it, I was extremely fatigued. I spent most days in bed and was unable to care for my kids. I did bare minimum. Usually, I’m bursting with energy and would describe myself as a super mom. I gained over 10 pounds, I constantly looked 4 months pregnant and was extremely bloated. My clothes were tight on me. I was irritable and felt depressed. No libido. My placebo week, instantly I felt great. The doctor said I was imagining it. As soon as I started again, I felt awful. One week after throwing them away, I lost 5 pounds and my energy has returned. I feel great. It WASN'T all in my head."

For Birth Control "This is the third pill I’ve been on, and it is definitely NOT my favorite. I will say it has made my face extremely clear, in the 6 months I’ve been on it, I’ve had maybe 5 or so pimples. I don’t have acne, but normally around my period I’d break out in a few spots, and I have not experienced that. Now, this pill has made me gradually gain weight, I’ve gained like 7 pounds, but it’s not even about the number on the scale, it’s that I feel bloated all the time. I feel like it makes me retain water so much, no matter what I eat. My eating habits have not changed, and I’m a pretty active person. Also, the biggest reason I’m getting off of this is because it has made me SO irritable and anxious about a week to week and a half before I started my period, and that isn’t normal for me."

For Endometriosis "I had been on the Depo-Provera shot for many years, having a good experience. Towards the end, I had some bleeding. I went off it for 2 1/2 years. After meeting with my doctor, he put me on Mono-Linyah. I am 27 years old, 5 feet 1 inch, and weigh 115 lbs, possible endometriosis. I started on the first day of my cycle at 7:30 in the morning. By 10 am, I was experiencing a migraine, and by afternoon, I was nauseous. This continued for 6 days. Symptoms progressively got worse. The migraine was so bad I could hardly think straight. My stomach hurt so bad with cramps and gas. I was vomiting every day by 3 in the afternoon. As well, my left ovary, which was already enlarged, had the worst pains I’ve ever felt. I’ve had cysts rupture the past year and cause nausea and vomiting, but I’ve never had a pain this bad. It honestly felt like I had a baseball for my left ovary that was about to explode. I took my last pill on day 6 at 7:30 am, and the next day at 8 pm, I was finally feeling better."

For Acne "I've been on for about 1.5-2 years. I was on Norethindrone and Paragard (IUD). I had to get off the Paragard because it would always shift, painful, and I didn't know it, but I was having a reaction to the copper. The Mono-Linyah was prescribed because of my acne and severe period bleeding. I have never done the bleed week because my doctor said I could just skip it. I will say I have gained 20-25 pounds in this short amount of time. Nothing with my diet or exercise has changed. I am nauseous, lightheaded, and hormonal. Oddly, it cleared up my face acne really well, but I started breaking out on my back and butt, which was really bad. I also was losing hair really badly, and I'm not sure if it was from this or not, but it really hasn't cleared up. My biggest issue is weight gain, nausea, and crazy cravings."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on and off birth control for 10 years. I’ve tried several pills, including Sprintec and the NuvaRing. Sprintec made me gain weight, and the mood swings were awful. The NuvaRing gave me my period for 3 weeks in a row. I’ve been on Mono-Linyah for almost 3 years. It’s been my favorite thus far. Even when I decide to cycle on and off it, my body never rejects it, nor do I have weird side effects. I’m grateful this birth control hasn’t caused any adverse reactions. But it did take me a few tries to find a good one that worked with my body and not against it."

For Birth Control "This was the second brand of birth control I've tried after the first one made me feel horrible emotionally. However, this one isn't that much better. It started out fine during the first pack, but then it started making me so nauseous that I woke up to throw up in the middle of the night. This also happened a different night on the second pack. It hasn't happened since, but now I occasionally feel like throwing up or have other pain in my stomach area. The other issue is how much it makes me sweat. Before trying the pill, I would have the occasional anxiety sweats, but nothing unmanageable. Now, sweat literally drips down my arms, especially during the placebo week. I can't get my body to a comfortable temperature on my period, and it makes an already hard week that much more difficult. I don't think this pill works for my body at all, so I will definitely switch. It is very effective though, I will say."

"I am currently 36 years old and was given Mono-Linyah after being on Sprintec for several years. Despite this being a generic form of Sprintec and being reassured that my body should experience nothing out of the ordinary, my body reacted very negatively to Mono-Linyah. I experienced a horrendous breakout after being on this pill, which is highly unusual for me and frankly never occurs. This, of course, made me quite self-conscious. My mood swings were also very bad, and I became tremendously depressed throughout my use of this pill. I did not notice any weight gain or loss. I became severely unhappy with both my emotional state and skin health changing. The only thing that I personally changed in my routine during my use of Mono-Linyah was my use of Mono-Linyah. I stopped using this birth control after a week, as I could not take the side effects anymore. I am happy for those that can use Mono-Linyah and have a positive experience with it. This is not the case for everyone, sadly."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control to clear my acne. It worked wonders, in no time at all, I saw wonderful results! I was on it for about 2 years and only took it at night between 9-11 pm to cut down on the anxiety side effects. While using this pill, I gained about 25 lbs and got pregnant! I will never use this pill again!"

For Birth Control "I've been off and on this pill, mostly on, for about 6 years. I only ever got off because I was tired of taking a pill every day, so I'd try a different birth control, but it was never as good as Mono-Linyah for me. I've never had an issue with it for the most part. Really helped with my acne, which is a huge plus! I almost never have acne on this, but as soon as I get off, I break out bad. The only thing that I can really say that's bad about it is if I forgot to take a pill and I would have to take 2, my boyfriend noticed a pattern where I'd be a little more moody the next day, but I never noticed it. I also gained 20 pounds in 2020, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the pill because we also were in a pandemic and it's never made me gain weight before, so it was probably just the fact that I wasn't leaving the house, haha. This pill also makes me move up a cup size in my bra, which I think is a plus, LOL!"
