For Birth Control "I was given this for migraines. I can't blame my doctor for prescribing this about 7 months ago when I told her I was a raging maniac who was blowing up faster than a balloon at a carnival on Seasonique... but as a result, I have gained a disgusting amount of weight. My bra size went from a 34D to a 34F! Nothing fits comfortably on the top or bottom because my bottom grew as well. How is it natural to get your period for one day or not at all? The worst is I have LOST MY SEX DRIVE."

For Acne "I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for only a month. I didn't have painful periods until I got off of birth control. I was on Depo (the shot every 3 months), and I did not have a period, but I did gain almost 15-20 pounds. I was on Depo for 3 years, and then I decided to get off, and I wanted to have a normal period. That's when everything went downhill. I would be in so much pain that I would call out of work, miss classes, and the pain caused me to be depressed. After ultrasounds, x-rays, no sex (too painful), they found nothing wrong. The doctors gave me Yaz, and that made me feel worse. It did control my mood swings, but not the pain. Loestrin 24 Fe has been great so far."

"I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 5 and a half months. For the first 2 months, it was horrible. I was bleeding consistently for like 20 days in a row, and the bleeding would only stop for a few days every couple of weeks. I was extremely moody and angry, and I did gain a little bit of weight. Also, my acne went away slightly, but nothing dramatic. On about the 3rd month on the pill, my period FINALLY started getting normal. The breakthrough bleeding stopped, and my period is now very, very light and not painful. I get breakouts and breast tenderness the week before my period, but it's not bad at all. My advice to those who just started: WAIT IT OUT. It's incredibly frustrating, but it takes a little bit of time for your body to adjust!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm on my 2nd month of taking Loestrin 24. I went to my doctor 2 months ago because I had not had a period during the 5 months prior to the visit. She prescribed to me, from what I can recall, oxyprogesterone, she told me it should start my period within 2-3 days. It didn't come until 2 weeks later, so then I finally started taking Loestrin 24. That whole first month, I bled. Some days, it was just average bleeding, some light, and just a handful of days, bad cramping and heavy. Now being on my 2nd month of this pill, I'm on the 3rd week row of the pill pack, and I'm already starting my period early. The only side effects I've noticed from taking this pill are my breasts have grown half a cup size, no nausea or weight gain so far."

For Birth Control "I am 22, and I have been on this pill for about 5 months. I was on Yasmin/Ocella for about 4 1/2 years, and I loved that birth control! But I started to get ovarian cysts, which are common after taking birth control for that amount of time. Since I've been on Loestrin, I have hated life! As of right now, I've been on my period for 3 weeks. I can't seem to lose weight after eating healthy and going to the gym 7 days a week. My mood is horrible. I am about to start Sprintec, although reviews for Sprintec aren't much better than this one. Every birth control reacts differently with every woman."

For Birth Control "I switched to this pill because I was on Sprintec before. It caused weight gain, and I developed several cysts on my breasts after 2 months of taking it. I rate Loestrin 24 Fe average. The pros for me: my period comes for only a day or not even at all. Cleared up all the acne on my back and chest, still break out on my face, but that's normal for me. Cons: reshaped my whole body, my butt/legs grew even bigger, which are my problem areas. I gained 30 lbs with Sprintec in a span of 6 months, but I took 20 lbs of it off in a whole semester. On Loestrin, I'm trying to lose the other 10, and I cannot lose weight (and plus I've gained 5 back). I'm constantly hungry all the time. I'm going to the gyno next week and switching birth controls after using for a year."

"I have been taking Loestrin 24 for a year now, and have to say that it is amazing. I'd been through three birth control pills before this one, which all led to serious infections and had little effect on my extreme PMS symptoms. Since starting Loestrin, I have had shorter, lighter, predictable periods. To have one last for more than four days is rare, and I am able to continue my active lifestyle, which was inhibited by unbearable cramps that would keep me in bed for several days before. I have not experienced any weight gain as a side effect of this medication. However, I did, and continue to, notice a change in mood on my 'off' days, which can be best described as generally sad and down."

For Birth Control "I'm 18 years old and have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a year and a half. I'm taking it only for birth control. At first, everything seemed okay. I had no spotting, no missed periods, and no weight gain. A couple of months in, I noticed a huge decline in sex drive. The mood swings came, and I gained some weight, even though my diet has always been very healthy. And the mood swings were ridiculous! I would cry just about every day for no reason at all and get so mad over little tiny things. I didn't know the moodiness and low sex drive could have to do with the birth control I am on, and after doing research, I realized what it is."

For Birth Control "I've been using Loestrin for almost 3 years now, and I love it. I'm petite and about 115. At first, I did gain a few pounds. I was really sad, but then the fat just went away within a month. Then my A cups went to a great B, almost C! And I got more junk in the trunk, it really shaped me out, and I'm still thin. My boyfriend loves the change, haha. It's been working for me, I would recommend it."

"As a first-time user of birth control, I did a lot of research after being prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe. I honestly got very scared after reading so many negative reviews that I almost didn't take it. But I did, and I am very pleased with my experience. I am 27, and one of the main factors for me choosing birth control was that I began working out a lot and started having a period two times a month, which I hated. I take my pill at 10 PM each night and have never had any nausea, weight gain, pimples, or negative side effects. I am an emotional person, so honestly, I can't give feedback on if it has affected my emotions. Regardless, I have not experienced any extreme changes in myself. I'm on pack 2, and I love having a shorter period. I recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 6 months. Pros were that it made me go from having a 7-day moderate period to a 3-day lighter period. I also had more energy on it to work out. It worked too, for I did not get pregnant while taking it. Cons were that I gained fat only in my stomach and my bum, which was weird. It was water weight because I lost it within a month when I got off it. Also, it did not help with my crazy PMS mood swings."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have never been on any other birth control apart from Loestrin. It's been about 6-7 years, and I absolutely love it. Very, very light to no periods at all, no cramps, no weight gain, everything was perfect. It has been just the past few months that I have experienced any problems. I have gained about 15 lbs since first taking this medicine, so I believe that is the cause of the change. I am now having cramps, heavier periods, and my skin is breaking out."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin 24 to prevent pregnancy, not really knowing that birth control was supposed to clear your acne. I was considerably surprised when my skin cleared up, even on my back, which has always been a trouble area. The first week or so was kind of rough, but once I got past that, I felt incredible. I didn't experience any real weight gain or loss, but I think I might have gone up half a cup or a whole cup size. I definitely love Loestrin."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for two months now. I have had no ill side effects, no weight gain, spotting, acne, or hair loss. My sex drive has not changed and is still in healthy working order. I feel exactly the same on the pill as I did off of it. I did manage to lose about 3 pounds without a change to my diet or increased exercise. I also recently went to buy new bras since I went from a 36C to a close 36D, which I am attributing to the pill. My first period on the pill was crampy, although I did start my first pill pack after I had ovulated. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this pill."

"I have been taking Loestrin 24 for a little over a year now. Everything about it was almost great. I have short, light periods, no spotting, and mood swings are pretty low. The biggest downside to Loestrin is that I gained 20 pounds while on the pill. I'm switching to Alesse after my last pack is finished."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on this pill for six months now. While obviously the general intent of the pill has been great, sex with the boyfriend and no pregnancy scares, otherwise I am not a fan of this pill. Every month since beginning, I have had two periods a month. Also, I am twenty-four and had finally gotten out of the bad acne scene of my life, and this pill has brought it back. I have gained weight, but I know that is due to the fact that my boyfriend is deployed and I have found comfort in donuts. I am depressed, but again, I don't know if that's the pill or the boyfriend gone issue."

For Menstrual Disorders "I LOVE this pill. I'm 18, not sexually active, and I used to have a bit of acne (which the pill cleared up). It's honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me. My periods used to be very, very heavy, and now they're light and I have almost no cramps, whereas I used to have to skip classes because of the pain, and I always felt like puking on the second day. My breasts got a tiny bit bigger, but not really. I haven't had any weight gain or other side effects, except for the fact that I feel awesome and my mood swings went away. Everyone's different, but this pill just happened to be perfect for me. During the first month, I spotted and got discouraged, but overall, I'm so glad I stayed on it. Five stars."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 2 years now. I love it - don't see any side effects. At the beginning - I had little drops, and after 2 months of taking the pills, my period was gone for good. First, I thought something bad was happening - ran to the doctor, but everything was fine. At first, I couldn't get used to not having any bleeding, but now I think I actually love it. No worries at all. The only thing is - I think I gained weight, 15 lbs in these 2 years...but not sure if that is the pill or me eating more candy and junk food."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Loestrin for 8 months now. After about the 3rd month of taking it, I have had no period. It has not helped my acne, though. I was on the Depo shot for about a year, and it was nice until I gained 15 pounds. That's why I switched to the pill. So far, I love it. No period, no weight gain, and no increased acne. I have been on a slew of different birth controls, and they all seemed to either make me depressed, gain weight, make my periods weird, and even almost cost me my marriage. My husband said 'no more birth control.' It all made me crazy. This is a wonderful little white pill. He has no complaints about my moods with this one."

For Acne "I would not recommend this birth control to anyone. I have NEVER had acne or oily skin in my life (I'm 25 years old now). Actually, I've always had pretty clear skin and very dry skin, and now it's filled with cystic acne, and it's constantly oily ever since I switched to this. I have given it 4 months because that's what my OBGYN suggested, and it just seems to keep getting worse and worse. And not to mention, I've gained 15 pounds, and I'm pretty sure it's made my depression and anxiety worse. I go on the 25th of this month to get switched back, and I wish I could just throw this crap in the trash, but I'm afraid it'll throw my periods out of whack if I suddenly stop taking it. Ugh! It's awful."

For Birth Control "I have read a majority of the comments about Loestrin 24 Fe, and they were not good. But I can tell you from my experience, I LOVE IT! I do not get crazy mood swings, nausea, and I did not gain weight. It really helped with my acne. My face is so clear now. I have been on it since August of this year. But so far, so good. I have no complaints. I do have my period, but it is very light. Come next year July, however, I will stop using the pill. Only because I plan on getting married and would really want to have children. I don't want my body to get too used to it. But overall, I love this pill."

For Birth Control "I'm 28 and have been on Loestrin 24 for 6 months, and I'm getting off it. I expected some side effects with birth control, but I can't take this. I get crazy mood swings, I've gained weight, and I've lost my sex drive. Also, I haven't had a period in 6 months, not even spotting. Been on Yaz and Ortho before and can't remember side effects being like this."

For Birth Control "I started the Loestrin 24 FE probably about 6 months ago - I've had both good and bad experiences with it. The good: very light periods that lasted 2 days and sometimes I didn't get my period at all, and my boobs got bigger. HOWEVER... The bad: Since I've been on it, I've gained about 20 pounds. I'm 29 and active - I try to eat healthy - I don't exercise. I had been maintaining a size 2 to 4 for the past number of years. I'm now uncomfortably a 6-8. I've also been noticing more breakouts, which I haven't had in years, and I had been very moody. I'm definitely switching back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen or maybe Yaz."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Loestrin Fe 24 for 5 months now (give it a chance), and although it was more bearable to take 5 mg of Lexapro for the anxiety that came along with it (I would wake up at 3:30 a.m. each morning with anxiety for no reason at all), I now have noticed that I am experiencing more anxiety, as well as some weight gain and small breakouts. I went from a size 0 to a size 2, and now my size 2's are tight, especially in the buttocks region. Honestly, this pill is not that bad, but I would have to give Yaz a 10 as far as side effects--no weight gain, a clear complexion, and minimal anxiety. There is just one big negative about Yaz, it may cause blood clots, and that is pretty serious. I would recommend Loestrin 24 Fe for women over 40, though."

For Menstrual Disorders "When I got Loestrin, it was a godsend! No other birth control could regulate my period and not make me gain weight and help with the pain. With this pill, I went from 7 days to 4 days. I haven't been on birth control for a few years, but even being off it, my period is still only 4 days (that's a miracle when you have endometriosis). I love this pill and wish they would bring it back."
