For Birth Control "I started taking this pill five months ago for terrible cramps. The first 3 months were fine. The period was regular, and the cramps were nearly non-existent. My mood has been up and down, and I am always tired. Last month, I bled for over 2 weeks, and this month, I had only a tiny bit of blood. My boyfriend and I use condoms every time just in case, so I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. It's very scary not having a period."

For Menstrual Disorders "I LOVE this pill. I'm 18, not sexually active, and I used to have a bit of acne (which the pill cleared up). It's honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me. My periods used to be very, very heavy, and now they're light and I have almost no cramps, whereas I used to have to skip classes because of the pain, and I always felt like puking on the second day. My breasts got a tiny bit bigger, but not really. I haven't had any weight gain or other side effects, except for the fact that I feel awesome and my mood swings went away. Everyone's different, but this pill just happened to be perfect for me. During the first month, I spotted and got discouraged, but overall, I'm so glad I stayed on it. Five stars."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I just recently was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and my doctor put me on Loestrin 23 Fe. The first month was fine, just a little tenderness of my breast, but the second month was terrible. I have horrible acne, mood swings all the time, I have terrible cramps, headaches, and I always feel nauseous. I will be going on a new pill as soon as possible."

For Acne "If I could rate this a zero, I would. I have suffered with painful periods since seventh grade and finally went on the pill two months ago. I have had near-perfect skin my entire life, and my skin is so terrible now that even my mother, who is the type to say it's not that bad, is extremely concerned. My breasts are also extremely sore, and I have been spotting so badly that I have to wear a pad, not even a panty liner. My doctor is not even telling me to stick it out for the next month, I'm switching pills next week at the start of my next period. Do not do this to yourself, especially if you have clear skin to start with."

"I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 2 months now and haven't had a period yet! Not even any spotting or bleeding. A couple of days ago, when I should have started, I was having very bad cramps, but my period never came on. I have gained about 10 lbs, but other than that, I am happy with it. My tubes are tied and burnt, so the only reason I'm on this birth control is to regulate my period and stop the heavy flow, and so far, it has done all of the above!"

For Menstrual Disorders "This pill did not work well at all for me. I was on it for severe cramping, and while it slightly dulled the cramps, its side effects made things worse than they were to begin with. For the 4 months that I was on it, I had 2 periods a month, one halfway through the pack and one at the end. Both had bad cramps. After the first month, my skin started to break out like crazy. Not only that, but this pill made me really moody, to the point that I would cry over nothing and get really upset at people."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is my first month taking the pill. I have been off birth control for the past 9 years. I have been experiencing heavy bleeding, really bad cramps, and periods lasting more than 10 days. My doctor prescribed this. I take it at nighttime before I go to bed, and so far, no complaints. My period started last Thursday, and I started the pill on Sunday. On Tuesday, my period was gone. I will update you in a few months."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 2 years. It was the first birth control I had ever been on. I went on it for severe cramps and heavy bleeding. On Loestrin, I did not experience any period whatsoever. I was reassured that it was completely healthy and normal, which I believe to be true. I was very satisfied with the pill, except for now that I'm on a new pill to induce my period, I do not get it."

For Birth Control "I spotted for a few weeks at first, but it never happened again. I had short, 2 or 3-day periods, only minor cramps, no nausea-a huge one for me because I have a sensitive stomach, no moodiness, no weight gain. It was almost like not being on the pill at all, except that I immediately noticed that my generally clear skin was breaking out like crazy with really painful cystic acne. I assumed it was just an initial breakout and tried to wait it out, but I just recently quit after 4 months because I couldn't handle the horrible acne. I did a lot of research and its progesterone is very androgenic and is known to cause acne. It's a shame because otherwise, it was perfect. Because that was my only side effect, I'd still recommend it though."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for a few years now and have never had any issues with it other than my body getting used to it during the first month. I have mild cramps on my period, and my period usually only lasts about 2-3 days, and it is also very light. I don't use tampons or pads on my period, only a panty liner is necessary. I gained no weight, had no mood swings, or any other side effects birth control normally gives. This has been the only birth control I've ever taken, and I will continue to take it. My only issue with it is that I pay about 23 dollars a month for it (after insurance covers part of it), and I'd like it to be cheaper, as many of my friends have."

For Birth Control "I have been using Loestrin for about 5 months now. The first 3 months, I would get a bit of nausea and cramps, but the doctor said to keep taking it for three months because it is supposed to resemble pregnancy! I was fine after the 3 months. I haven't had too many problems with it for the past 2 months. This month, I have been having really bad stomach aches and cramps. I'm not sure if it is the pill or something else?"

For Birth Control "I used Yaz for over a year and started having breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor decided to try me on Loestrin 24 Fe. I'm on month three. The first month, my sex drive went up 200%. My period lasted 2 1/2 days - one day heavy. I was having 5 days, with 2 of those being very heavy. I couldn't believe it. The second month, my sex drive went back to normal, but my period lasted only 2 days again, with lots of cramping but only spotting. I'm hoping month three will be more normal. The doctor said it would make my period last only a day, which is awesome, but like someone else wrote, it would be nice to have an actual period so I wouldn't think I was pregnant. I never gained weight on Yaz, and I've gained a few pounds with this pill."

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and this is my fourth birth control. I have had problems with ovarian cysts since I was 14, so my doctor put me on birth control to help with the pain and cramping every month. I am going into my second month on Loestrin, and so far I love it. I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Yaz, and Necon, and they all made me depressed, with horrible mood swings (always angry at the world), weight gain, and did not help with the acne. I know it's only been a month, but I have experienced mild headaches, breast tenderness, but they have grown, and I love it (I was not blessed with breasts), and mild cramping. My periods in the past lasted 5-7 days, but with this it has lasted only 4. I will definitely give this a shot, seeing as it's my last resort."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill since June, I would have started the pill in May, but my period was a month late. Before the pill, I experienced heavy bleeding, paralyzing cramps, and occasionally vomiting. Since I've been on the pill, I have 3-4 day periods with little or no bleeding. The cramping has subsided greatly. I take the pill at night because it makes me feel sick to the stomach, but I don't mind because this pill has done more good than harm for me."

"I am fifteen years old and I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for six months. I am roughly 140 pounds, 5'6'', with no known history of women's problems. I am about to switch to Seasonique because I don't like my birth control. It was great at first with only a little spotting, which a panty liner was barely needed. It has made my cramps insufferable. All I want to do is lay down in a small ball in bed all day. It made my period a very dark color, and it doesn't start until the 3rd brown pill and ends on the 3rd white pill. I have always had a lot of headaches, and from taking this medicine, they have increased in pain and frequency. Before Loestrin 24 Fe, I was on the Depo shot for 6 months. I switched because I gained 30 pounds in 6 months."

For Birth Control "Terrible cramps on the first day of each period, my periods were heavier than ever. I bled through 4 super plus tampons a day. I had bleeding every day of the month, not spotting, BLEEDING. Just finished my 4th month, and I'm done taking it. Made me super anxious."

For Endometriosis "I've been put on Loestrin 20 now for so far 3 weeks. I've two days left of the first pack! My experience already has mostly been positive. I've had less cramping after my last period as I started it on the first day of my cycle. I'm able to go to the bathroom more frequently as I would have gotten backed up at certain times in the month with m.c. and ovulation. My breasts have filled out, lol. I'm only a size 8 and have a small bust, and my skin has cleared on my face. I do suffer with endo, and my doctor put me on this as a last resort basically. I've spotted throughout the month, but I did anyways, so don't know if I can blame it on this. She did advise me that different positions during intercourse can help and not flare the endo up, which bothered me."

"I started taking Loestrin 10 days ago on the first day of my period. My periods are very irregular, so a family friend who is an OB GYN advised me to go on this birth control and gave me the prescription. I get random cramps throughout the day even though they are only uncomfortable feeling. It's abnormal, and I am still experiencing light bleeding. My moods are not as out of whack as they usually are, and I haven't seen a difference with my appetite/weight. No nausea or stomach aches, but I have broken out a tad more than usual, but I usually do break out a little bit before my period. I'm going to keep taking it and hopefully it doesn't go downhill from here!"

For Birth Control "I am 24 years old, and I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 6 years now, and I love it. I have had zero weight gain and no complaints, other than the price. It is important to remember that everyone is different, and as such, may not have the same experiences with medications. I have had a GREAT experience with this medication! I have not become pregnant, have very light, short periods, and very little cramps. I take it as directed per the package insert directions and have had great results."

For Birth Control "I have been using Loestrin since I gave birth to my 3rd child in August 2010. Before then, I was using OrthoEvra, not my fave, but I got free samples from my ObGyn, so I wasn't complaining. Let me just say this: I am horrible at remembering to take pills, and although I do miss taking them a lot, I can honestly say this has got to be a super birth control because there were times I've done things with my husband and I still haven't gotten pregnant (crosses fingers) from forgetting to take the pill. At first, I experienced a little bloating and cramping, my periods were really heavy and lasted for 7 days for the first three months, but now they last 3 days and that's it. I am definitely OK with that!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin for 4 months now. I will admit the first month was kind of rough with the mood swings and headaches, but once my body got adjusted, it was perfectly fine. Like other women on here, I had horrible periods with PMS. Now I barely even notice cramping. It did add a lot to my bust, though, which I am not complaining about at all. I haven't noticed any other weight gain at all. All in all, after the adjustment period, I had no issues at all and also convinced a friend to switch as well, and she loves it."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for 3 years. My experience on this pill was overall a good one. I was sexually active and never used backup, the pill kept all pregnancy scares away. Cramps stopped and stayed away for 3 years until they reappeared suddenly and were one of the reasons I switched. I had little acne and no mood swings (to my knowledge). My breasts did grow almost 2 cup sizes. The only problem I had was due to my own fault. I never took my pill with anything, and I'd take it right before I went to bed. In the morning, I would feel extremely ill. I fixed this by just taking my pill at dinner. I switched pills because all of a sudden, I started bleeding and cramping all the time and not following the pill schedule."

For Endometriosis "Due to a recent endometriosis diagnosis, my doctor switched me to Lo Loestrin from Sronyx. The first day I took the pill, I started cramping and bleeding like never before. I usually have really bad cramping, body aches, and heavy bleeding, but only for 3 days. It's now been 9 days on the pill, and I am still bleeding heavily, cramping, and having body aches. I don't understand and am so worried. I started the pill to control all these symptoms, but it's been very frustrating and confusing."
