"I absolutely hate this pill because ever since I started it, I am angrier, more depressed, and I bleed non-stop! Literally every day since the day I started! I fear becoming anemic because of it. I do not recommend this for anyone."

"Like every birth control, my body had to get adjusted to it. At first, I would have irregular periods: some months no period, and some months two periods. After a while, I barely have periods now. I still have some moodiness on my 'off pills,' but I always have moodiness around my period whether I am on or off birth control. With birth control, it just helps to schedule it, so I go on my 'off pills' on a Friday, so the worst emotional part can occur over the weekend, and this helps me not to be emotional while I'm at work or school. By the time Monday comes, I have leveled off a lot. I haven't experienced acne breakouts from it, which is a bonus. Since it has iron in it, I have had my iron levels checked while on it, and they are always good."

"I have been on this pill for about 5 months now. I switched to this after having problems with Depo, which caused me horrible migraines that actually put me in the hospital. Since I've started this pill, I've had nothing but problems with constant bleeding. The strength of the pill has been changed higher a few times. After sex, I bleed, going to the bathroom, I bleed. I absolutely hate it. I've also been very irritable, but mostly because I'm tired of bleeding. And I feel dizzy all the time and feel out of body. I'd rather gain a ton of weight on the Depo and deal with migraines again than deal with what I'm going through on Gildess."

"I had been taking this medication for 1 year, and I noticed decreased libido and fluttering veins, which made me stop taking it. Also, breast swelling, but the most worrisome was the repeated daily fluttering of my veins. I could literally see my skin vibrating."

"I was given Gildess to help control my ovarian cysts. BIG MISTAKE! I have gained weight, feel depressed and tired, and when I do have periods now, they are horrible, painful, and really heavy. They will last indefinitely too. I have bled for over 30 days. I thought this was just my perimenopause, but after reading everyone's reviews, I felt I had the same symptoms as them and felt obligated to share."

"I was on Demulin and Zovia from the first time I got my period until three months ago. I'm 35, so literally 20 years. I LOVED that pill. No side effects and a very light period like clockwork down to the hour. After turning 35, my doctor said I needed a low estrogen pill, and she switched me to Gildess. First month, I had tender breasts, which never happened before, cramping, and my period lasted over a week. Second month, I started getting nauseous every day, bad cramps, but only got my period for an hour. Four days ago, I started my third month, and I've been so sick. Debilitating cramps, severe nausea, and overall feel like death. The doctor told me today to stop the pill right away. I've never in my 35 years of life felt this sick from BC."

"We moved to a new air base, and the horrible doctors here refuse to let me have my Minastrin 24 Fe that I was on for two years. Those two years were spent on cloud nine compared to the seven months on this garbage. On Minastrin, I lost 45 pounds, had clear skin like never before, a good sex drive, was not an emotional hurricane, and never got carsick. In seven months alone on Gildess, I gained 25 pounds and counting (even with a healthy lifestyle), suffering from depression and anxiety, no sex drive, periods are horrid, my face has exploded more than going through puberty, and I am 21. Taking this makes me sick. It's a good thing my husband and I don't want a baby because with the weight gain, breakouts, and no sex drive, it won't happen while taking this trash pill."

"I thought this birth control was great at first, but I have now gained 40+ pounds after being on this. I hate it, to say the least. Oh, it was recalled, by the way, which scares me. That's why they have switched users to Blisovi."

"If I could rate this a zero, I would! Ever since taking Gildess, I've been bleeding. It's been about 3 weeks now, and not just spotting either... I'm miserable. My cramps are so bad, and my acne is ridiculous, I've never broken out this bad before."

"This cleared my acne and prevented pregnancy, but it had way more negative effects than positive. My first period lasted for about three weeks with the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. I had constant headaches, absolutely no sex drive, always felt exhausted, and I was irritated at little things. I'm glad I'm not on this anymore."

"I was prescribed Gildess after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome to help control my hormones. After about 2 weeks, my migraines started to increase in frequency and severity. Several calls to my OB, and I was advised to continue to take the med for at least 3 months. A month and a half into taking the medication, I woke one night with sharp pain while breathing and in my right shoulder. I thought I pulled something or bruised a rib, so I kind of just rested and relaxed for the weekend with no real relief. Monday morning rolled around and I started to have pain radiate from my right shoulder across my chest towards the left, so I went to the ER. Lo and behold, I ended up with bilateral pulmonary embolisms!"

"I started taking this pill two years ago, and a few months after I started it, I wanted out. I noticed I was gaining weight very fast and was breaking out with acne on my back. I tried everything for the weight gain, figuring it might have been eating habits and the fact that I'm in my 20s now and my body is changing, but nothing helped!! I gained about 20 pounds in the past 2 years and have finally had enough and made my gyno switch me to something else (she also insisted it was my eating habits and not the pill numerous times, which is why I stayed on it for so long). My friend was also on the same pill for years and gained even more than I did."

"I'm 27 and had been on the same birth control since I was 15 years old. After having a baby, that brand was discontinued, and my insurance sent me Gildess. Within a few months, I started having really bad anxiety. Eventually, I started having panic attacks before work (ER nurse). My midwife wanted to put me on anxiety medication, and I didn't like that. Instead, I impulsively quit my job that I worked so hard to get. I've always been an anxious person but never this bad. Looking back, I think it's all related to the birth control. I exercise daily and eat pretty healthy and still have about a 3-pound weight fluctuation throughout my cycle with awful bloating. It's bad enough that for 1-2 weeks throughout my cycle, I have to wear a size bigger in my pants. The mood swings are awful. I tend to be level-headed, but now catch myself feeling grumpy about things that normally wouldn't bother me. One week I have a lot of energy, and the next I don't sleep well, have night sweats, and feel depressed."

"Made me moody mid-cycle and really PMS-y the week before my period. I lost my period for a while there, and they tried me on this birth control to help it start up again. I didn't gain weight until about six months of taking it, I started to balloon up from 117 to 132 lbs. I'm not very tall, so it was noticeable. It made it hard to lose weight. It's been a week since I've stopped the birth control, and I already feel less hungry and less puffy. Losing the weight will be no problem now, I feel. This, compared to others, was much better, but not for me long-term."

"Honestly, I had been really hesitant about starting this birth control based on the reviews it got, but I've been on it for about 7 months now and seriously have no complaints! I think I experienced a little bit of nausea and fatigue the first month on it and some breakthrough bleeding up until the third month, but all those side effects have subsided, and my skin has been super clear as well! My period usually lasts only about three days on this and is really light, and most important of all, I'm not pregnant!"

"I had been taking this BC for about three months. I always bled before the fourth week. Each month, bleeding earlier than the month before. Didn't gain weight. Did not break out as bad as the first BC I was previously on (Sprintec). Then out of nowhere, mood swings. And when I say mood swings, I'm talking a full 180. One minute things would be fine, then the next, I'm crying and ready to cut off the head of the person closest to me. Today I started Xulane. I'm hoping that this will not make me gain weight, break out, or cramp like a lot of the reviews have stated. Hopefully no more mood swings! Best part about these pills, I did not get pregnant."

"The first pill I tried had me in so much pain all throughout my body that my doctor switched me to this one. At first, I thought it was great because I wasn't in pain, I never got sick, etc., but after only two months of taking it, I have zero sex drive. I literally cannot get turned on, and I feel like a corpse. What's the point of taking birth control if I can't even have or enjoy sex? My periods also last way longer than normal, like a week and a half."

"I have been taking this birth control for 2 months, and I hate it. I am bleeding all the time, it's not helping with my periods, and I get cramps so bad it hurts to move sometimes. Worst birth control ever."

"2nd month on the pill, this is my 2nd review. I feel nauseous a lot. No super craving. Broke out about the same. It seems like it makes me feel super sad/anxious for about 24-48. I shouldn't start until I sat still on the last week of pills. I spotted Monday in the morning, it stopped. Now it's Wednesday and I have to use a panty liner. I will report again next month."

"I've been on this pill for over a year. I've never had any problems with it in the beginning except a little spotting in between periods and headaches at first. Now I absolutely hate it and am thinking about not taking it anymore because all of a sudden my periods are starting to mess up, and I don't like that at all. This pill has also made me gain like 15 lbs."

"This is my first time on birth control, and I was scared to try it because of all the side effects. It's been almost a month now, and honestly, I didn't suffer any side effects. Only the first few days I was very tired, but it went away. I totally recommend it."

"I've been on this pill for about 6 months, and the first 3 or 4 months, I was using the 28-day pack. A couple of months ago, my pharmacy switched me to the 21-day pack, and ever since, I have been getting my period on the second week of pills. This 'period' lasts up until I start my next pill pack. I suppose I can be thankful that I'm not pregnant, but if you're considering taking this pill to help regulate your cycle like I did, definitely do another brand."

"I started taking Gildess about 3 years ago and have slowly put on weight that has not been affected by either diet or exercise. It wasn't until October-December 2017 that I took a break from the pill for some blood work that I realized that it was this pill that was either causing or exacerbating anxiety, depression, irritability, moodiness, and weight gain. I resumed taking the pill about ten days ago, and I have progressively felt worse every day. I felt like my old self when I was off the pill, so I'm going to get off this drug permanently. If you're experiencing the same issues I have, this birth control may be the culprit."

"The first time I took this medication was last month on the 1st day of my period. Had bad side effects within 3 days like always angry, acne along the side of my jaw and mouth, swelling boobs, and heavy bleeding. I stopped taking it after the 1st week. Told my OB-GYN about it, she said to take it again and give it another chance for a whole month, so I did, and I'm now on my 2nd week and have not experienced any side effects so far, which is good. The only good side effect is swelling boobs, who wouldn't want that, lol."

"I was put on this pill for more than one reason. I've always had irregular periods. I'm 28, and I've been having irregular periods since I was 12. Recently, I found out I had a 6 cm cyst on my right ovary, and I was put on this pill to hopefully help that too. I was on this pill for a little over a week before I had to stop it from extreme mood swings to the point I could hardly function. I was crying all the time and a complete mess. Everyone reacts differently, but it was awful for me. I'm now having to take anti-anxiety meds to help me get off the effects of this pill. Before this pill, I have never had any problems with anxiety or mood swings. I posted this to tell everyone to be careful and listen to your body!"
