"Gildess is my first ever birth control pill. Pro: didn't get pregnant. Cons: 1. I've been getting my period every 1.5-2 weeks! And when I'm not on my period, I get bad yeast infections, regardless of me taking probiotics to prevent that from happening. I have no sex life because of that (how ironic). I've been very emotional to the point of not recognizing my own behavior. My skin became very sensitive, I'm always getting rashes and irritations. It's been 2 months, I'm waiting one more miserable month and then will try to switch."

"I was prescribed this birth control at a local health clinic. I've been on it for 2 weeks. I've been on birth control since I was 20. I'm currently 24, and this is my first time using this kind. I am not one to write reviews for anything! I feel like I really had to share my experience with this particular issue. How do I say it sucks kindly? Ever since I used this birth control, I've been so emotional. I'm not normally an emotional person. This birth control makes me so needy and sad. My boyfriend even told me he thinks something weird is going on with me. I went back to the health clinic to see if I could get a different kind. They said starting a new birth control will affect me in some sort of way and that I should wait it out for 3 months."

"This is my 6th month on Gildess (my first form of birth control taken). I'm really confused with how my body is reacting to it. It made my vagina weirdly dry, mood swings were present before but were somehow amplified, and I bleed even when I'm not on my period (not just spotting, like a solid week before my period week). I'm trying out Gildess Fe 1.5/30 to see if it was a dosage problem, but it might be the brand itself. Wish me luck, and good luck to all who try it!"

"I started taking this for birth control. I have been on it for 1.5 months, and I have no issues with it now. The first couple of weeks were rough as far as mood swings/over-emotional responses to things. I was also slightly nauseous at times for the first week, but nothing unbearable or that would make me stop taking it. I still got a little emotional starting back up after my placebo week, but not as bad, and it went away after a couple of days. My period was much lighter than usual, which was very nice. Overall, I haven't had a bad experience, and my side effects were what I expected for starting any birth control. No major issues, I'm pretty happy with it so far."

"I just finished my first pack and didn't have a pleasant experience on this pill. My period typically comes around every 3 months and lasts for about 5 days, but I bled the entire time I was on this medication. I also never typically have cramps, but boy, did I have cramps. I also didn't have a problem with acne until I started this pill."

"I have been taking this medication a little over 7 months now. I take it so I don't have to get my period. I used to get awful period pains and now I have absolutely none! I used to struggle with acne and was worried it might make me break out, but, if anything, it made my skin clearer. Also, my breasts went up a size and haven't gained weight anywhere else so far. When I first started, I dealt with a little breakthrough bleeding, but that went away after a week or two. So, for me personally, I have had a really good experience with it. I would recommend trying it, BUT if you feel depressed or get bad side effects like others on it, I would try something new right away. It's just about finding the right birth control for your body."

"I started taking this birth control 4 months ago. I immediately developed acne all over my face, gained 20 pounds over the course of 2 months, suffered from debilitating cramps, and experienced intense mood swings. I do not recommend this birth control for anyone who is estrogen dominant."

"It's the only birth control I've taken, recommended by my doctor. No signs of acne or weight gain, however, I did start getting really bad migraines before my period and during my period. When I get a migraine, I know my period is on its way. That's the only downside. My boyfriend does finish in me, however, I'm extra careful. I take my pills at the same time every day, and I've never missed a pill in 1 year. Being a college student, it can be stressful and hard to remember, but that's why I have an alarm as well, just in case :)"

"The first six months of using Gildess were unremarkable. It was effective in preventing pregnancy, did not worsen or produce acne, and I did not experience any remarkable weight gain. It was like any other birth control. After my first six months, however, I experienced spotting, heavier bleeding, and random periods throughout the month. In one month, I experienced two periods. For the past few months, my periods started after two weeks of active pills."

"I had to stop taking Gildess when my insurance changed, but for a review: I took Gildess for over two years, I've never had any issues. Yes, I gained some weight, then I lost it. Yes, my acne fluctuated. This relates to stress levels as well. Overall, it did a great job keeping me child-free, and I had no issues with it at all. Fingers crossed my new BC is just as good."

"I switched to this pill because I switched pharmacies, and the new one didn't have my usual pills. After starting this, my cramps became intense, my periods became so heavy, and my libido decreased significantly, but I haven't gotten pregnant while using it. So I would say it's very effective, but the side effects are not cool."

"Been on this birth control for almost 2 years. At first, yes, I felt different, but that's every birth control. It takes time to adjust to your body. Any doctor will tell you to wait 3 months or so and see how you feel before switching. Anyway, I feel fine now, my periods are regular, and I don't have terrible cramps. My boobs grew, and that's about it. Stress I've always had, and anxiety I've always had, I don't think it's linked to birth control in any way."

"I've been on this pill for 4 months, and so has my sister. My sister loves it and has no problems with it. However, for me, I have symptoms of PCOS, so I don't get my period every month, so I started taking this pill. I didn't get a single period while on this pill, just brown discharge for 2 weeks straight every month. It was annoying, and my periods were more normal and better before I started taking this, so that was pretty weird. Requested a new birth control, and hopefully it works!"

"Gildess has been awesome for me. I've always had heavy periods that lasted at least 7-9 days. When I started Gildess, my periods have become light-normal and only last 3-4 days. I get breakouts every now and then, like I always have, so Gildess hasn't helped or made my acne worse. Overall, I have no complaints."

"I'm 14 years old, and I've been on it for 4 months, and I hate it. I'm on it for regular periods since my blood flows too quickly, and it has done nothing. I've been on my period for 4 months, light mostly, but heavy sometimes. I also went on it for my acne, but it did nothing. I gained 4 pounds, and now I have stubborn belly fat. I also have huge stretch marks (idk if it's related, but they showed up when I took it). Also, I have no motivation anymore. Don't take this, please!"

"I have racked my brain trying to remember the name of this birth control. Sad it is discontinued. My favorite out of five brands I have tried. Made me lose 5 lbs/mo without changing anything in my lifestyle. I never got pregnant, and I never had acne."

"I am 21. This is my first BC, so I really have nothing to compare with. Reading all the reviews - that's the only comparison I can make. I love it. No cramps, light to none period. 3 days max... Mood swings is only 1 day before the period, but I think I even had those before BC, lol. That's it :)"

"I've been on birth control since I was 16 to help with my cramps and PMS. I'm 21 and recently switched to this birth control because of insurance coverage. I gained 20 pounds, extreme drowsiness, always tired, a lot of spotty and terrible acne, which I've never had before. The estrogen levels are too high, and I don't recommend this pill."

"I was on this for 6 months, and it was awful. I had the worst mood swings. Then they switched me into Junel Fe for another 6 months. It was just as bad. I had acne. Awful moods. And I understand everyone is different. But for me, it was just awful."

"I've been on this pill for about 6 months now. The first month, I bled almost nonstop and my hair seemed to be falling out a lot more than usual, but I stuck with it, and now I have no side effects. I used to have seven-day, extremely painful periods, but now I bleed for about 4 days per month, and it is really light, which is wonderful!"

"If I could give this birth control a 0, I would. I have been taking it for about 5 months, and I've been on my period probably half of those 5 months. Please tell me what is the point in even being on birth control if you are bleeding all the time. No one wants to have sex when you're bleeding every single day. Also, this month, I haven't gotten a period, thanks birth control. Also, I've been so bloated all the time & get sick if I don't take my pill with food."

"As a first-time BC user, I feel Gildess is a good choice. Almost a year on it, no babies, and the only major issue is the few but annoying breakouts. Getting used to it was an emotional adventure, but no major weight gain, and my libido has even increased! I would take this pill over any non-combination pill and feel very lucky that starting with it was not too bad. Everyone's body is different, but this is a good pill if it is a suitable match for you."

"I have been on various birth controls for the past 15 years, and this was my worst experience. I was off BC for 3 years due to trying to conceive, pregnancy, and then nursing. I wanted to start on the pill again after my daughter weaned. I have only taken it for one month, and I can't remember any other pill having such extreme side effects. I immediately got a yeast infection, broke out worse than when I was a teenager, have been exhausted but unable to sleep at night, no sex drive, and extreme mood swings. It has been a horrible experience."

"So I've been taking this pill for 2 months, and I'm torn. First off, I haven't gained any weight, and I'm not pregnant, which is good. The cons are my moods are heightened. I'm way more emotional and get annoyed/mad a lot easier, and this started right away. My period lasted for a whole week last time, and although it wasn't heavy, I still had cramps. Also, when I'm on my period, I get nauseous, and I'm not sure if that's from the birth control or just me being on my period. My boobs have grown, which is another pro, but my acne has actually gotten worse. If my acne doesn't clear up by the third month, I think I'm going to switch because I really want clear skin... I had mild side effects: increased appetite, some cramps, and mild nausea."

"I have been so moody while on this! I bled the whole first month (which I let slide because my body is getting used to the hormones). But I can't get over feeling exhausted and depressed all the time. I'm switching to another kind today."
