"This is a great pill! I've been taking it about six months. I had a long period the first month, and my appetite increased, along with some breast tenderness. I just watched what I ate, and no weight gain at all! After the first two months or so, it all disappeared, and everything is normal now. My skin is the best it's ever been. This is the first BC I've ever taken, and I love it!"

"Gildess is my first birth control. The only thing that really changed my body was that in the first couple of months, my breasts were tender, and I had headaches almost every day! My mood is still swinging like crazy. I'm trying to prevent myself from lashing out on my boyfriend since I know the birth control is the reason I have become extremely mean."

"I've been on Gildess for about 2 months, and I absolutely hate it. I'm always on my period and never feel good. I always feel groggy, lethargic, and have constant cramps. I cry for no reason, and my depression caused me to have therapy sessions. I switched from Emoquette after a year because I gained 20 pounds, which is horrible. I always have a headache on Gildess. I do not recommend it for anyone. Hopefully, I can find the correct birth control."

"I felt the need to write something because it seems like this gets several bad reviews. I will say the first few weeks were pretty bad. Spotting and cramps, but that's it - once I got used to the hormones, it's been smooth sailing ever since. Expect to spot on this (like every other BC, I'd bet), but doubling up for a few days stops that. No mood swings and cleared up minor acne, so I recommend trying it for yourself! Everyone has different reactions, I did."

"I was questioning taking this birth control after reading all the reviews. I'm going onto my 3rd month. The first month, my period lasted about 2 weeks, but after that, the monthly cycles were super light, only 3 days, and always on time. Everyone's body is different. I didn't experience any low sex drive, spotting, or mood changes. I did notice a slight weight gain, but overall, I'm pleased with the birth control."

"My experience is completely different. I didn't gain any weight, I don't PMS at all since I've been on this birth control. I no longer cramp like I used to. I've probably had about one bad cramp, unlike when I wasn't on birth control. I would have terrible cramps every month. So yeah, I love this birth control."

"This has to be the worst birth control I have ever taken. I have never experienced so many side effects on any medication. This pill makes me so nauseous that I wake up out of my sleep!!!! My acne is usually controlled, but not on this! Gildess has wrecked havoc on my entire body. I get breakouts on my chest (ew, gross, I know), and I have gained so much weight on it. I'm talking about like 20 lbs., and let's not even mention how emotional I am. I cry about EVERYTHING. The only plus side to this was the huge cup size increase: 34B to 34D. If I hadn't already been to my gyn, I'd think I was pregnant. Nope, it's just this damn birth control. Oh, and my GYN says my blood pressure is also elevated. You are better off being pregnant!"

"This is the first time being on birth control. I've been on the pill for 3 months, I am 5'2" and I was 130 lbs before, now I'm 150 lbs. I don't have mood swings, and my sex drive is still pretty high, and my skin looks amazing. Overall, the pill does its job."

"Gained 15+ lbs in 3 months - not even sure how much weight I gained due to the constant water weight and bloating I've had. I dropped the pill mid-cycle because I was so frustrated, hoping to go back to my normal weight in 2 months. No other symptoms for me."

"This is my first time on the pill to help with cramps, and this birth control is helping a lot. I no longer have raging cramps every month. I haven't gained any weight on the pill either. The only issue I have with it is it affecting my period. My last period lasted for 13 days, and I am still spotting here and there. I am still new to the pill, so it should be something I hopefully get used to. No major mood swings on this for me either."

"I started this birth control 4 months ago right before I left for college in August. I read reviews, and I was iffy, but my OB promised me everyone's body is different and I should try it out. The first month was okay. I was happy as ever at college. I got horrible cramps when I got my first period on it, and my period was really irregular, but I figured I just needed to adjust. Come late October, November, and now December have been the worst months of my life. I'm crying every day, lost my boyfriend, planned on starting therapy, don't want to go back to school, nothing makes me happy, I want to do nothing at all times. Everybody's body is different, but this depression isn't even worth risking. Do not take."

"This is the only birth control since the depo that I have found that works for me. I get terrible cramps, mood swings, tender breasts, and acne when I'm not on BC or on any other BC. After the first month on Gildess, after my body was used to it, I had ZERO PMS side effects!! I am so happy I finally found something that takes away those terrible debilitating cramps!! I have had absolutely NO issues with this BC!! So grateful to have found this..."

"I am a 22-year-old African American female. I have been using Gildess as a substitute for Tarina, and I have not experienced any adverse effects. My periods used to be quite heavy and last around 5-6 days. I used to completely soak overnight pads and had to change frequently. Now, my periods are so light! They only last about 4 days, and I find myself only needing to wear a couple of regular tampons throughout the day. It's great! My skin is clear, I have not had any breakouts, and I experience no mood swings. The ONLY problem is-my sex drive is extremely low at times. So that sucks. :/ But for me, the goods outweigh the bads. Gildess is successful at preventing pregnancy."

"I'm almost done with my 2nd month. I honestly was scared to take this at first after reading the reviews, but it really isn't bad at all. The symptoms are very mild for me, I get some breakouts, but it's not that bad. I notice some slight change in mood. I can get irritated easily, but I notice it and don't let it bother me. The only thing that bothers me is pretty much having another period mid-cycle, it wasn't really light spotting either. It was done after like 4 days, but I know I'm about to start my actual one in about 6 days, so that is annoying. I'm going to keep on this for another couple of months since the symptoms are so mild, and I'll just get more used to them. All I can say is I love free birth control!"

"I am 41, and I am peri-menopausal. My GYN prescribed Gildess Fe 1/20 for me to 'balance' my hormones. I have tried other BC pills in the past, including Gildess, but had to stop them because of the crazy side effects. But this time, when I tried it, I was spotting, I got weird feelings in my head, I had back pains, flu-like symptoms, chest pain, and terrible anxiety. I stopped taking it after about two weeks. I feel horrible! How long before it leaves my system?"

"This BC took some getting used to, the first month I had an extremely long period. Some irregular bleeding here and there, but only 3-pound weight gain. Anxiety got better, then got worse, and now I have pretty much no sex drive, and I'm always angry. My emotions seem to be x10. I have random periods throughout the pack, looks like I'm having two periods this month. Some periods were really light, now they're getting heavier and longer. My acne has cleared up, and I have not gotten pregnant or gained much weight."

"This pill did tremendously help with my cramps and lighten my period. But I have thought I was losing my mind since I started it. Very depressed all the time, extreme highs and way more extreme lows, my skin has never broken out like it has since starting this pill. I've gained almost 40 pounds. No matter how I cut back and exercise more, I can't get rid of it (something I've never had a problem with). My hair is literally falling out. I'm so achy and sore all day, every day, and I don't even know what sleep is anymore. Funny enough, I didn't connect any of these symptoms to this pill, even though it all didn't start until after I started this pill. It was just another sleepless night on the net. I'll just deal with the cramps, not worth it."

"I have been on this pill for about a year, after switching from one that made me very, very moody. I have noticed a much lower sex drive, but it does its job, so I'm not complaining. My period is always on time, I hardly ever spot between them, and I am overall very pleased!"

"I'm blown away by the bad reviews. However, I fully believe every birth control affects people differently. This pill changed my life. I've had bad endo since I was 13. I'm 32 now. Bleeding to the point of not being able to leave the house and pain to the point a bottle of vodka was the only fix. Since I started this pill 2 years ago, I haven't had a single period. No cramps! I still bloat near the end of my pack, but not bad at all. No acne. The only negative side effect I think is slight unusual nausea, but coming from awful endometriosis, it seriously doesn't even bug me. When I started, it took a month for breakthrough bleeding to stop. My body had to get used to it."

"I've been on Gildess Fe 1/20 for about 4 months now, and at first, it was great! Slowly, I started to see changes in my behavior and body... I started getting irritated more and easier, I started getting a lot more emotional than normal, and I started gaining weight, resulting in me getting depressed about my body. I spot in the middle of my cycle about a week before my period starts, and I thought this was just my body getting used to it, but it's become clockwork. I have nothing but nightmare stories with birth control, so I'm starting to feel like it's not for me."

"Express Scripts switched this one in place of my Microgestin FE 1.5/30. This has been the worst experience ever. I missed taking a pill by 2 hours and I had already begun breakthrough bleeding and severe cramping. To where I had to leave the office at work and just lean over and hold my stomach. The absolute worst part is the depression. I'm crying about everything and getting upset with my boyfriend over nothing. I've only been taking this for two weeks and it's been a hellstorm. I do not recommend this brand."

"This is the worst birth control I have ever been on! I am 31 years old and recently had the Nexplanon removed. BIG MISTAKE!!! I never write reviews, but this birth control is the DEVIL!! While on the Nexplanon, I never had cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, or horrible mood swings. Gildess, I have all these symptoms plus paranoia and depression. I have been taking these pills for a month and a half and never have felt more insecure in my life. The weight gain is an issue as well, I gained 12 pounds within the 1st month. I realized that this birth control was making me feel crazy, anxious, and not myself, so I made an appointment for my OBGYN for a better option. I can't wait to throw these pills down the drain. Hope this is helpful."

"I have been on several different kinds of birth control: pills, NuvaRing, Implanon, spermicides, condoms. All the hormones were too much for my body to handle, eventually, I had to quit trying. I had my Implanon removed after a year and a half of nonstop bleeding and suffering from severe vertigo, headaches, and depression. So I went to my doctor and expressed my concerns. She prescribed this to me, and I was so reluctant to take them. I honestly expected the worst. The first month was rough, not going to lie... my body was adjusting. I was dizzy and nauseous a lot. But then, it all stopped. My body regulated, and I couldn't be happier with this choice! My period is on time every month, and it is super light the whole time. It's amazing."

"I took Gildess 1/20 for a full year. Everything started out fine, but around the 7-8 month mark, my periods started coming in all over the place and my skin broke out like I was in middle school. I either had two periods a month or none at all. I didn't notice any weight gain, but did experience occasional mood swings. Overall, it prevented pregnancy, but did not give me a regular cycle."

"After two weeks, I couldn't take it. My nerves felt so thin, every little normal everyday snafu became an emotional overload. I was angry in a flash at work, and also on the road while driving, making me realize how unsafe and untenable my life had seemed to become. I would also randomly feel like crying at work, which only created extra stress to try to keep calm. After a couple of different sick days, where I tried to relax and integrate the medicine, I realized with intuition it just wasn't all in my head. So I stopped and felt more normal soon after. I was also bloated and nauseous while taking it. My advice is try it if you want, but if you start having emotional problems, don't wait around trying to adjust or assume it's all in your head."
