For Birth Control "I recently got my implant removed, and my doctor put me on this. I take it, and everything is going well until the late evening. I have horrible nausea, which led to vomiting. One day in, and I’m already not liking this pill. My other pills I took in the past never gave me nausea this bad. I won’t be taking any more pills."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control for about 7 months. It was fine in the beginning, but then it gradually got worse. At first, I only experienced some slight nausea and tenderness in my breasts, which is typical of starting birth control. However, I noticed that my period cramps were absolutely horrible. Before the pill, and now being off the pill, I've only had light cramping every once in a while. I also started getting really terrible migraines during my period to the point that I would throw up. My vagina would physically ache for no reason during my period as well, that putting a tampon in would be painful. During one period, I had a decidual cast, which freaked me out. I have never experienced a decidual cast before. I also started to get some mild mood swings and lower libido, which just wasn't fun. All in all, it was alright in the beginning, but I don't think I'd go back to it. I definitely feel better now that I'm off this pill."

For Birth Control "I shall preface this by saying that I’ve been on multiple different brands of birth control and Depo-Provera since I was 16 years old. I am 20 now. I have been taking Vienva for about 8 months now, and I’ve noticed that since I’ve been taking it, I have an increase of acne. Previously, I’ve never had chin or hormonal acne, but that is now something I have because of this medication. Also, at least 3 times a month, I’ll wake up from my sleep extremely nauseous and usually have an episode of vomiting. I am currently typing this from my bathroom floor as tonight is one of those nights. For pros, this birth control does its primary job well, a.k.a. preventing pregnancy. Also, I deal with extremely horrible long periods, and Vienva has somewhat helped with that. It’s kind of hit or miss, as sometimes I’ll get my period twice in a month or I’ll get it once for only 5 days (amazing for me). Overall, I don’t think this pill is awful, however, I don’t think it’s compatible with me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this birth control for almost 3 months. The first few weeks of taking the pill, my face broke out really bad with acne. That went away after about 3-4 weeks, and now I don’t have any breakouts. However, I noticed that my mood has been extremely low, I’ve been irritable and feeling depressed since I started this pill. Yesterday was my last day taking it. I am going to try a new birth control, I can’t deal with the mood swings or feeling down all the time for no reason. As far as periods, I didn’t experience cramps on this pill. My flow was the same, but no cramps. I used to experience extreme menstrual cramps off the pill. So it helped with that. Also, I notice I do feel nauseous randomly sometimes since starting this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva since December of 2021, so it's been about 5 months now. It's the first birth control I've ever taken, so I wasn't 100% sure what was going to happen going into it. The first month was fine, no side effects, and my period was like it normally was, but then I got to the second month, and it was a nightmare. Every night I'd get EXTREME nausea to the point where I couldn't drive, and all I wanted to do was curl up in my bed and not move. This persisted till my 4th pack, and since then, everything has been fine. I get kind of moody here and there, my acne has stayed about the same, and I think I've put on a little weight (though that could be because of my current diet), but my period has become super light and now only lasts 3-5 days rather than my previous 7 days. I had breakthrough spotting through my 3rd pack, but that was the only time it made me bleed irregularly."

For Birth Control "My first month went really well, I used to get my period twice a month for about 5 days each, and it made my period once a month, 7 days each. Month 2, I’m feeling nausea, cramps, headaches, and a little bit of overheating. It’s making me feel so bad and crummy. Not pregnant though, or so I hope."

For Birth Control "30-year-old here. I don't take any medications for pain. This is my first and only birth control I've tried out, starting with a low dose of 10/20 mcg. The first couple of days adjusting went smoothly. No symptoms of nausea, tender breasts, or mood swings affected me. I used it for a total of 9 months, tried skipping periods with it, and I did have some very light spotting for weeks. I gave myself a 7-day break without active pills so I could get a period. I resumed the regimen of active pills after the break, then the spotting went away and I continued skipping for 2 months without taking the sugar pills. After 3 months, I had to take another 7-day break without active pills for a bleed. So this was the regimen that worked best for me. I believe this pill was too low dose for my body, so I switched to a higher dose that's working better for this body of mine :3. So really think if you are sensitive to anything, like allergies, this may cause you mood swings or have symptoms like crazy, possibly. I just have a hard, damn tough body that needs stronger BC."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Vienva for almost 3 years now, but recently opted for a new BC. My anxiety has progressively gotten worse, my boobs are always so tender (and have grown from C cup to DD). I have irregular bleeding even when taking the pills regularly, and worst of all, I developed night sweats! I haven’t read anybody talk about the night sweats, but I saw one review mention hot flashes. I am literally 27, so I’m nowhere near menopausal age. Oh, the worst for me was the terrible cramping during rough sex! I remember when I first switched to this BC, the second time I slept with my now boyfriend I started having the most intense abdominal pain I had ever felt. He had to give me Advil and place a warm towel on my stomach. I should’ve switched right then, but I loved that I didn’t get dried out like with my old BC. Pros: I didn’t get acne, headaches, nausea, or pregnant (thank God)."

For Birth Control "I’m on the fourth week of Vienva and have experienced nausea, headaches, mood swings, spotting, and bloating! Hopefully, these symptoms pass after three months like they say! I hate birth control to begin with because of all the symptoms, and I always experience all of them, but what are we supposed to do?"

For Birth Control "I took Vienva for almost 2 years now. I’ve always had nausea, bad migraines, and recently really bad panic attacks. At first, I didn’t know why, I thought it was just me in general, but I just stopped taking this birth control, and I feel so much relief. I don’t have bad panic attacks or anxiety anymore. I’ve always had anxiety, but not to this extent. I feel like I can actually breathe and do things I love again. It had also caused me some depression, but it’s all gone away now that I stopped taking it."

For Birth Control "I was very apprehensive to start birth control because of all the horror stories, but this actually turned out well! I should start by saying this was part of my regimen to treat PMDD, so I am on an antidepressant as well. The only side effects I had at the beginning were one instance of nausea, some rough headaches (I'm already prone to migraines so I knew what to expect), and a long period. I started the meds on day 1, and I think my period lasted 14 days, though after day 3, I only needed a light pad. I had some mood swings, but those could also be attributed to adjusting to antidepressants, so take that with a grain of salt! I've now been on it for 3 whole months, and my last 2 periods were much lighter. I've gone from taking 3 ibuprofen every 3 hours on my period to taking 1-2 ibuprofen once or twice during my whole period, which lasts about 3-4 days. When I should be ovulating, my breasts become tender, and my nipples stay hard for like 5 days lol. I've adjusted well and will continue on it."

For Birth Control "Vienva was the worst experience of my whole life. Like many, I was switched from Walgreens to this brand. I even asked the pharmacist if I would have any reactions, as in the past when they switched me, my body had a very difficult time adjusting to the medicine. They assured me that there would be no issues and it's like taking my current birth control, which was Lutera. Well, they were wrong. After a couple of days of taking it, I have had severe headaches, nausea, suicidal thoughts, depression, fear, constant panic attacks, bloating, more acne, and I've also gained over 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Currently, I am scheduled to go to my gynecologist to get a new form of birth control because apparently mine is no longer being produced. For anyone that's being routed to this birth control - use caution."

For Birth Control "HORRIBLE!!! After being on the depo for 3 months, I had horrible side effects and constant bleeding. My gyn put me on Vienva to help regulate my cycle and also prevent pregnancy. Now I can’t live a single day without hating life. I’m extremely nauseous ALL the time. I get horrible anxiety, tender breasts, and horrible dizziness, to the point where I can’t go to class, and I can’t go to work because I can’t even function anymore. After reading everyone’s reviews, I will NOT be taking this pill ever again."

For Birth Control "I've just passed the 3-month mark with Vienva. In comparison to other BC pills I have taken, this is the best so far. However, still not an overall super positive experience. Between months 1-2, my acne was the worst it ever was, and I was nauseous constantly. Also super emotional. Luckily, those have seemed to pass. My face is super clear now, which I hope stays for the long run. Negative side effects that have stayed so far are extremely painful breasts for most of the month and absolutely no sex drive. I don't think my boobs have gotten bigger, but they feel heavier, and I can feel the lumps pretty clearly. The positive is that my period cramps are a lot more manageable, and if I miss a day or take it late, I don't feel any side effects (on previous brands, I would always throw up). I'm going to keep taking it because, like I said, I've had worse, but wish this one could be better for me."

For Birth Control "This pill made me bleed for 12 days straight. It didn't give me too much nausea, which was a plus, but I did feel very sad and depressed. Of course, this was my experience, everybody is different."

For Birth Control "Do not recommend for bleeding! I was prescribed Vienva to help with my anemia because my periods were heavy. I bled nonstop for a month on this pill, so I had to stop taking it by the end of my second pack. Completely defeated the purpose of why I was taking it and probably made my anemia worse. I also got extremely nauseous the morning after I took my first pill, which hasn’t happened with other combination pills I’ve tried in the past. The only positives were maybe my PMS and acne were a little less bad."
