For Birth Control "This Vienva is the first birth control pill I’ve tried, and I’m not pregnant, so it’s doing its job. I felt nauseated a handful of times during the first two weeks, but it went away. I didn’t have to deal with any breakthrough bleeding, and my periods are less heavy now, which is never a bad thing. My sex drive is definitely lower than it was before, but I haven’t really noticed any other side effects."

For Birth Control "I started taking this Vienva birth control pill in July of 2019, and I read the whole package and all the side effects. Now I’m 5 months in and still get really bad headaches. I get nauseous randomly. My period this month is very late, and I’m panicking because of it. I have my 6-month follow-up at the end of this month and want to switch, as this is awful. I know everyone says that not everyone has the same effects, but I keep reading, and most people reviewing it have the same effects as I am. I gave it a 2 because it kept me from popping a kid out."

For Birth Control "I don’t recommend these at all. I wish I would’ve read the reviews first. I’m two weeks on the pill and have been going through it! I vomit every single day, no matter what time I take the pill, no matter if I take them with a meal or not. I wake up vomiting and go to sleep doing the same. If I’m not vomiting, I’m extremely nauseous to the point I just wanna lay there. Migraines are terrible but was able to resolve that with Excedrin. I’m taking my last pill today and calling it quits. Not worth it at all."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me from Aviane to Vienva. I’ve been taking Aviane for a year with no problems. About a week and a half into the new script for Vienva, I noticed terrible side effects. I was extremely nauseous, my whole face was breaking out, and I became an emotional wreck. I’m not someone who usually has mental health issues, but this pill made me extremely depressed and anxious. I was able to go to a different pharmacy and get another pack of Aviane. It took a little over a week to feel normal again. Once that pack ran out, my new pharmacy gave me Vienva again. After not being able to find the Aviane, I had to take the Vienva as I had no choice. After a few days, all of those same symptoms came back again (so it’s definitely the pill). I would not recommend this pill to my worst enemy. The most annoying part is that every pharmacy thinks “they have the same active ingredients so they’re the same exact pill.”"

For Birth Control "I remember I started this pill about a little over a year ago for primary dysmenorrhea because I had crippling cramps at random times of the month, and upon finding this review site, I was terrified of what I read. However, I honestly did not experience that many terrible side effects on this pill (everyone is different, of course). It made my acne a little bit worse, especially on my forehead, and I felt nauseous the first week, but it was my first birth control pill type (nausea is pretty typical, I think) - and the best bit was my terrible cramps stopped! I had to switch though because I was spotting between periods, and I wanted to search for something to help with my acne more. But overall, if I hadn't had pretty consistent spotting, I would have stuck with it."

For Birth Control "I have had a good experience with this birth control. I just started my second pack. I had preexisting anxiety and depression, I do NOT feel as though Vienva made it worse. I did feel bloated the first few weeks, and my breasts were swollen, but that stopped after I got my period on the pill. I mostly went on the pill for pregnancy protection, help with my cystic acne, and terrible cramps. This pill hasn’t helped with all of them. I don’t rate it at a 10 because it does make me nauseous at times, but it’s doable."

For Birth Control "I’ve now been on it for a month. No weight gain, if anything, it makes me eat less. My skin seems clear. My boobs feel like they have changed, although I see no difference. It doesn’t cause me to be tired either. The first week, I was extremely nauseous and had light cramping. Now, no nausea or cramping, but I started the pill when my period was supposed to start, and it delayed it for a week or so. Now I am on my period and have been bleeding nonstop for 10 days straight. I'm not sure if this is normal, but if it doesn’t stop by tomorrow, I'm gonna quit the pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on so many different birth controls in an attempt to calm my endometriosis symptoms, and this is hands down the worst one I have EVER been on. I have always gotten dizzy or nauseous from the medication, but I have never had it change my mood like this one did. I've been on it for 2 months, and everyone in my life has noticed how different I have become. I am so lost in my own mind, it feels like I am watching myself go through my day. I have been insanely irritable and depressed. My poor boyfriend has been dealing with these intense mood swings like a trooper. I have lashed out randomly so many times, and I have also cried on average 6-7 times per day. I have never felt this intense depression, and from someone who was already depressed when going on this pill, it was a train wreck. Overall, this pill has been a complete nightmare, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy, I have a lot after lashing out so many times."

For Birth Control "I've taken several birth controls, and this is one of the best ones. No nausea, bloating, or water retention. The only downside is the breakthrough bleeding halfway into week 3. I'm hoping that goes away with time."

For Birth Control "Just switched from Nexplanon to Vienva and was on Sprintec before Nexplanon. Nexplanon I only suggest if you have always had very light periods and get ready for maybe a period that's spotty for an entire month. And then going without a period for a while, but then it comes back again. Vienva has made me nauseous for 10 minutes, and that's it. No mood swings, no headaches, everything is great. I know I've mentioned 3 birth controls. Now Sprintec I don't recommend if you can be a sensitive person because I cried about anything. Periods were fine, cramping a little bit, but the crying was over the top for me. That's when I switched to the implant that goes in your arm. Never had an issue until the 3rd year when it comes out. I had a period 3 times."

For Birth Control "Side effects are nausea, migraines, and pain with intercourse. This birth control pill has way too many side effects to even be considered useful to me. I would rather go without than have to go another day using this pill."

For Birth Control "I actually love Vienva. I'm only on it to prevent pregnancy, which it's doing a great job at so far. My appetite stayed the same. I didn't experience any nausea, headaches, cramps, or anything like that. I didn't bloat either. My boobs grew, which was just a little sore, which didn't bother me. Different pills have different effects on people. I hated Sprintec, Aviana, Ortho Evra."

For Birth Control "I was on Orsythia before they switched me to this, and I was disappointed. I have taken Orsythia for months, and I was doing great on it. When they switched me to Vienva, I was feeling nausea, and my heart was racing, and my left arm was in pain and felt numb. I had to stop these immediately."

For Birth Control "For me, the birth control did nothing wrong that I’ve noticed. I’ve been on it for 6 months. The first few weeks on it, I got instant headaches and nausea. The second I took it, but it went away after a few weeks, and the symptoms didn’t last long-only like a half hour. I haven’t noticed any weight gain or irregular bleeding. It helped my period become lighter but longer until I started the new month on BC. It also didn’t help my cramps at all, they still hurt bad. It did help my acne."

"I started this birth control at the beginning of January 2021, and after reading reviews, I was nervous about side effects, but I haven’t had many. Most insurance covers it. No weight gain, no bad breakouts, no nausea. My periods have slightly been irregular, only off by a few days here and there. Overall, I think it is an average birth control."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 2 weeks (transitioned from another pill), and I literally experienced the worst bloating of my life 2 weeks into the pill. I looked pregnant. I went to the ER due to the bloating and constipation. I experienced nausea, bloating, constipation, a depressive mood, and I felt super tired and weak, almost as if I had the flu. I couldn't even finish the pack. Now that it's been 2-3 days since I've been off the pill, I feel like a normal person again. I was finally able to pass stool and pass gas. DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL IF YOU HAVE INDIGESTION OR CONSTIPATION because it will make it worse."

For Birth Control "I was showing two symptoms of PCOS (weight gain and hair shedding), so a gyn prescribed me Vienva. I took it for six months, stopped when the six months was over because I thought I would just be regulated permanently (I was 18 and didn’t know much about the pill). I gained a lot of weight while on it and got nauseous at the start of each pack. The only benefit on it was my really clear skin, even though I already had somewhat good skin. Once I came off, I developed acne for the first time. Three months after stopping, I got bad anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and depression. It’s been one year since those symptoms started, and I’m much better, but I still get very anxious during and after my period, and I never was like this before BC. I’ve read many stories, and most women take months to years to recover. I went on it to “regulate” my period, but now I know that that’s not true. Doctors should be cautious and should explain to women that we don’t have a cycle on the pill."

For Birth Control "So far, this has been better than any other birth control I have taken. I switched from Depo Provera because it messed with my moods too much. So far, no random mood swings. I only get nauseous if I don't eat when I take it. This is the only birth control I have found that didn't worsen my depression."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on many birth controls as I’m 36, was married at 18, and we had our first child at 20. I’ve never had this kind of reaction this quickly. I’ve already gained 4 pounds, despite being incapable of eating. The nausea alone is enough for me to quit taking it immediately. I’ve only been on it for four (4) days, and I’m absolutely unable to function. The night before last, the severe nausea led me to vomiting more than I’ve ever vomited in a single session. It was a lot! The past two days, I’ve had headaches so bad I’ve been forced to go back to bed. My appetite is gone, and I have no desire to even speak. I will not be taking my fifth pill this evening. I am stopping it immediately and will be bringing these issues up with my doctor at my appointment this coming Friday. I’m not holding out to see if I come through the side effects or to see if they get worse like most of the reviews here."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Vienva for a week now, and so far, everything is going well. No bloating, mood swings, headache, etc. I may get a little nauseous for 2 minutes, but that's normal for me if I take any pill on an empty stomach. I was previously on the Nexplanon for 3 years and would sometimes be on my period for like forever. I would like to have a baby in about a year, so I’m only taking this for now to prevent pregnancy. I’ll follow up if anything changes after I’m done with the first pack."

For Birth Control "This is the absolute WORST birth control in the world. The nausea is unbearable. I’ve had to leave work from being so nauseous. Nausea every day, I can barely handle it. The only good thing is I didn’t get pregnant. I’m throwing this birth control away and using other methods/asking my doctor to switch it."

For Birth Control "This is the first-ever experience I've had with extreme side effects from a medication. This has been the worst experience of my life. I've been taking it at 9:30 every night. I wake up in the middle of the night at 5:00 a.m. every night with extreme nausea, something that I didn't experience before taking this. When I wake up in the morning, I instantly feel dizzy and nauseous. This continues on throughout the day. Halfway through the day, the anxiety starts to take over. I start to experience shortness of breath, shaking, and lightheadedness. Once the panic attack ends, I get a headache more towards 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. This has been happening every day since I started this pill, and I'm just told to 'keep pushing through.'"

For Birth Control "I experienced nausea, sadness, and anxiety. I stuck with it, and the intensity subsided. However, depression and anxiety remained like a low-grade fever. It became my norm, but I wasn't the same me. I started experiencing severe muscle cramps, heart palpitations, tingling in hands and feet. It wasn't until I forgot two days of pills and ended up taking four that I experienced all these side effects so intensely I thought I'd lost my mind. I felt extreme rage, sadness, panic, and the muscles in my legs twitched visibly. My hands were shaking. I was terrified and considered checking myself into a hospital. I called a pharmacist, and he told me my body couldn't absorb it at once, and he had received calls like this before. That I would feel better after a day or so, as the hormone levels returned to normal. I realized the overdose was just a more extreme version of what I've been feeling on it. By the way, birth control is the only prescription I've ever been on other than antibiotics."

For Birth Control "Being on Vienva was pretty miserable. I was on it for a year. I had nausea the entire time I was taking it. I would throw up in the mornings often. It made me extremely emotional. I would cry at least twice a week for no reason. It is important to take it at the same time each day. I noticed symptoms getting worse when I was either late taking a pill or missed one and had to take two the next day. However, this pill was effective in preventing pregnancy!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Vienva for exactly a month now, and I am definitely switching. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow already. This pill has made my migraines 10x worse. The migraines will last anywhere from 24-36 hrs straight, along with nausea, tiredness, dizziness, throbbing head pain, and mild mood swings. I had awful cramps within the first week of taking it, and my period lasted 15 days. This pill is just awful. I will never take Vienva again."
