For Birth Control "I give it an 8 because I loved this pill for 8 years. Just recently, I started having problems with it. Now my sex drive decreased, chronic sinus infections... which I now link to this pill because over the last 7 months, I have tried others and my sinuses have been great... now back on Lessina and yet another sinus infection and clogged-up nasal passages, rash on chest, and bad melasma now. I think my body has changed over the years and it doesn't tolerate this one anymore. I did love it for years, though."

For Birth Control "So I started this B.C. about a month ago. Before that, I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 3 years. Then, all of a sudden, I'm switched to this. Anyways, I just got my period a day later than I was supposed to. (On the Ortho, my cycles are every 28 days on the dot!) I'm concerned because I only bled for one day and haven't bled anymore after that for 3 days. So, not sure if it's switching birth control pills or if it's implantation bleeding. Good luck, ladies!"

For Birth Control "First time on BC and got prescribed this, the first couple of weeks were fine. I was advised to skip the white pills since I had planned a vacation. I spotted for a week straight, then started bleeding. It's been 2 weeks now, 3 weeks total, and I am still dealing with it. I have no other issues other than the longest period I have ever had and on-and-off cramps. Waiting to see if this changes in the third month or if I may need to switch or maybe stay off BC altogether."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for two weeks. On the 14th day, I was ready to seriously harm myself. I had a complete emotional breakdown. I went to the ER and was prescribed anxiety pills and told to immediately discontinue this pill. I saw the reviews and got worried, but I have never had a problem with any other pill. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PILL TO ANYONE!!! IT SHOULDN'T BE AN OPTION FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN THOSE ALREADY TAKING IT!"

For Birth Control "I was on Lutera, which was great for me, then Vienva, which was okay, then now Lessina. I've been way more anxious, and I've been having outbursts, not to mention breakthrough bleeding. I'm usually pretty regular, but not with this birth control. Overall, it prevents pregnancy, but my libido has dipped, and I sometimes experience nausea as well. This birth control might work for others, but it does not work for me."

For Birth Control "Initially wanted to go back on the pill because I experience pretty severe PMS symptoms within the 10 days or so leading up to my period that really prevent me from my normal, everyday functions due to a hormonal imbalance. Tried to stick it out for a little over 2 weeks but then couldn’t take it anymore. Was constantly tired, depressed, and anxious within the first few days. Experienced severe mood swings at the start of week 2, crying for no reason and then suddenly would get angry and snap. Had insane acne and cravings from the start that I couldn’t resist, leading to a solid 10 lb weight gain and painful blemishes, which only made the depression worse. Felt so self-conscious and didn’t have the motivation to work out, which is something I love to do daily, during the entirety of my experience. Needless to say, probably some of the worst weeks I’ve experienced in a while. Started to return back to normal within a few days of stopping."

For Birth Control "I started Lessina almost 4 months ago. I have not had a period since. I am not complaining, but I am having a hard time losing weight, retaining water, etc. My head is always hurting and extremely exhausted. I'm worried about the no period. Going to call my doctor Monday to talk with them again, as I don't know anyone else who has had periods completely stop. The only other method of birth control I know that has done that to me is the Depo, but been over a year off of that. I went on another pill, Sprintec, prior to this one but just wanted something that wouldn't make me constantly want to eat. On Sprintec, I had a 2-day period, if that. In my opinion, I feel my body needs to have a period to lose weight."

For Birth Control "I was advised to take this because it is the least hormonal birth control that works. I was horribly emotional with all the prior birth control pills, this one had no bad side effects, and periods were much lighter. Of course, I did gain the normal 5-10 lbs. (But that's always the case with birth control pills since they make your body think that you're pregnant). I truly believe that the bad reviews are people that had chronic issues with emotions or sinuses, etc., and just kind of placed blame or really made themselves believe that symptoms got worse when taking a new medication. I stopped taking it in February as my spouse and I are wanting a child. It is now nearing November (9 months) and I have not had a single spot or period since I stopped taking birth control."

For Ovarian Cysts "Been on Lessina for a month and a half, skipped sugar pills to not have to deal with my extreme PMS, as advised by my doctor. I have been bleeding for three weeks! The heaviest and most clotting period I have ever had to deal with! I have had tender breasts and horrible mood swings. I am so anxious and tired. I could not tell you if it works for birth control, haven't been able to have sex since I have started this due to a prolonged period."

For Endometriosis "My doctor prescribed Lessina for potential endometriosis. I requested a low dose, older generation birth control, since I've never taken any before. This worked okay, I suppose. I only was able to take a little over two weeks' worth before finally having to call it quits. I was about halfway through my last active row when I stopped. The pros: It seemed to help my moods level out, and I was generally in a better mood than usual. I did not get headaches, nausea, or acne from this pill. The cons: Oh, the anxiety was awful and one of the main reasons why I gave up. It made me so jittery every day to the point where I felt like always panicking. I also had unusual aches in my arms and legs while taking this. It felt like I had been working out more. Lastly, I had pretty bad joint pain and general stiffness while on this pill. I know everyone is different, so I'm glad that this pill works for a lot of people. I just wish it would have worked better for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking this for about a year now, and it works great for me. Even if I forget to take it for a day or two, I never spot. I haven't had any crazy acne changes since starting. Literally, no problems besides a slight weight gain."

For Ovarian Cysts "I began taking this pill after my insurance company sent this medication to my pharmacy instead of my Luthera. When I first started this pill pack, I didn't notice anything yet, but at the end of the second week, I missed a pill and then had breakthrough bleeding for three weeks straight. I also began noticing severe mood swings and mood changes, breast swelling and tenderness, and pretty consistent bloating. I thought I would give it one more month to see if my body just needed to adjust, but all the symptoms remained throughout the next month, aside from spotting a little less frequently, but the mood swings got 10 times worse at the end of the month when I was on the inactive pill and my everyday anxiety increased substantially as well. I couldn't handle the side effects from this and simply had to have my pharmacy order me the Luthera."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Lessina for quite some time now. I’m currently 18. I work out about 3 days a week and have regular eating habits, etc. From my experience so far, Lessina has been effective for birth control purposes (hopefully). However, I’ve noticed that over the course of taking the pills, I’ve had frequent headaches, bloating, increased sex drive, and I haven’t seen anyone else with this problem. Oh, and my hair is thinning out too. Of course, I can’t be 100% it’s because of Lessina, but since I’ve started taking it, my hair has thinned very much to the point where I have to color in spots with makeup and whatnot. Other than that, my eating habits are completely normal, my period is regular, and I don’t have a significant change in emotional behavior like many others. Good luck."

For Birth Control "This is my first time being on birth control, and I've started my second pack a few days ago. So far, I have no large complaints. My weight has stayed the same or maybe lost a pound or two. I do feel more stressed, have tender breasts, and less energy, but nothing too extreme. No spotting, but a regular period. I did start my period 2 days earlier than I was to reach the white pills. Will keep posted if anything changes."

For Birth Control "Switched ob/gyns this past fall, and she recommended Lessina since I’m now over 40 and didn’t need as many hormones (in the Dr’s opinion). I’ve always had an effective skin care regimen, so I was totally freaked out when I developed ridiculous acne within 1-2 months of switching. I’ve also gained at least 10 or more pounds since I began the pill. I also read how some users felt sadness/depression, and I’m wondering if a few blue episodes I’ve had may have been brought on by the pill. Hmm. On the upside, I did notice the increase in sex drive, and the periods seemed to be short and smooth (no PMS, no cramps). Finally, called the doc last week to complain, so I’ve swallowed my last one. Really wish I’d had the sense to Google this pill sooner. Never again. I’ll be researching my new script too as soon as I get it. I’ve been off and on the pill since my teens and never once had this many textbook side effects. Geez."

For Birth Control "My ob-gyn switched me to this from Sronyx, due to horrible mood swings, constant headaches, and 10-day-long periods. I like this pill, but I don't, and I gave it more than 3 months. I have been having some breakthrough bleeding any week on the active pills that lasts 1-2 days. I have had terrible stomach aches and food repulsions. With these symptoms being bothersome, I might have to switch again. I need a different pill that's not so harsh on my stomach. I do like that it shortened my periods, aside from the breakthrough bleeding, and there is no weight gain."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for about a year. When I first started, I had irregular spotting for about a month, and then my period began to come regularly. After about 4 months, my mood swings have been on 100. During that time of the month, I do get cystic acne in the chin area. On the bright side, I am not pregnant, which is a plus! One downside is that the pharmacy I use was out of stock for a couple of days, which could have gotten me pregnant, but I’m glad I was able to hold out until I have taken the pill for a week straight."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lessina for about 4 months now. I used to take Seasonique, for whatever reason, they prescribed me awful birth control instead. I'm so moody and literally hate the world and myself. I cry all the time, honestly, I have the worst mood swings I've ever experienced. I stay so depressed that all I do is want to lay in bed and cry or sleep. I've gained 20 lbs from this and got some acne. I constantly have the worst crushing migraines I've ever had in my life. Just all around the worst experience. It works for preventing pregnancy, but it's not worth the emotional state it leaves you in."

For Birth Control "Entire month of bleeding. I started this straight after I had my implant removed, and I get that my body is supposed to be adjusting from the differences, but I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to be nonstop bleeding for the entire time. I have acne on my chest and back now, getting zits more frequently. I’ve cried almost every single day, and I’ve been drier than the Sahara Desert. This is absolute garbage, and my partner and I are not impressed. I’m so confused by what I’m supposed to expect from my body at this point that I’m going off birth control for a month to get it back to normal."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control pill after removing the Mirena. I was given this pill as the generic to what my ob/gyn prescribed. I wish I would've left it at the pharmacy! This is the WORST PILL EVER!!!!! Let's start with mood swings, weight gain, tender breasts, depression, decreased sex drive, and edema. I would NEVER recommend. I discontinued after being on the pill for 1.5 months. I actually stopped taking birth control pills altogether to allow my body a chance to get back to normal. This by far was the WORST experience with birth control."

For Birth Control "This is my fourth month on this medication and my 7th period. I was originally asking about birth control methods that would keep me from having my period every month and was told by my doctor that I could continue onto a second pack, skipping the week of fake pills, and that should prevent my period. After that didn't work the first time, I decided to just take it normally, but that's when my period started happening every other week. I have been abnormally emotional, but until I read the other reviews on this site, I never thought to blame this medication. I'm normally a very subdued person who deals with my problems internally. These last few months, I've been incredibly emotional and sensitive, crying a lot. I have had some extra acne too."

For Birth Control "The first week, I took BC at 8 am and would feel so nauseous afterward that I had to fall back asleep or I would vomit (I only threw up once because I was unable to get back to sleep after taking it). It made me a little nauseous all day, every day I was taking it. When I started the second week in the pill pack, I suddenly got blurry vision, severe headaches, and dizziness on top of the increased nausea, which lasted all day. I decided to stop taking it after that. From what I experienced, the only good effect it had was that it lessened my acne. I wouldn't ever go back on it, though. I was debilitated for an entire day due to overwhelming side effects. All I could do was lay on my floor or bed and try to sleep."

For Birth Control "I was on Lutera, which was amazing. No nausea, light periods, fewer breakouts, then Vienva, which was okay, then Lessina. Lessina started okay, then I started spotting between periods, having longer, heavier periods, nausea my first day back on the hormone pill, and back pain. I tried to tough it out for a few months, but couldn't stand the side effects anymore and asked my OB if I could switch back to Lutera. This pill was not for me, but everyone is different. Not the worst, but definitely not great for me personally. I didn't get pregnant though, which is a plus."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lessina for 3 months now. I really like the pill, only a few complaints such as breakouts here and there, migraines off and on, and a very lengthy period. Before taking Lessina, my cycle would last roughly 5 days, now it lasts about 2 weeks, which is really the only reason I'm looking to change to another pill. On a positive note, no menstrual cramps at all, which is amazing."
