For Birth Control "Let me remind you that everyone's body is different, and every time you begin a new birth control, it can take about 3 months before you fully adjust to it. So don't get anxious about the bad reviews. I began this pill because I would get hives a week before my period, insane acne breakouts on my back, and cramps all the time. I've been on this pill for a month, and I can feel the difference this pill has made already. I have experienced simple symptoms like nausea, but the nausea doesn't bother me. I noticed that it has reduced my appetite, but not dangerously. I just find myself snacking less! Also, my sex drive has not gone (which is a first with birth control). I have a history of anxiety (GAD and OCD with panic attacks), and this pill hasn't made me more anxious. If anything, I feel that it improved my mood and balances my hormones perfectly. I'm confident that the symptoms I have experienced will minimize within that 3 month period. So give your body and the pill some time!"

For Birth Control "This birth control is the only birth control (thus far) that doesn't give me side effects. I am so happy I came across this medication because I can still enjoy intimacy in my long-term relationship. I did have nausea the first 3 days of taking it, but it subsided. However, I notice if I skip the sugar pills and go to the new pack, I get migraines. That's a simple fix by taking the whole pack rather than skipping to the next one. I was originally on Aviane, but my insurance switched the brands. According to pharmacists, they are essentially the same thing. I'm very sensitive to hormones and I had no problems switching."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 3 months now. The first month was fine. Last month, I started developing horrible boob pain and veins coursing all over them. Then I noticed spider veins on my hips and then on my butt. I have occasional leg pains. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I also have headaches, occasional nausea, lacking motivation, really bad appetite changes (one day super hungry, the next day don’t want to eat), starting to feel depressed, and anxiety increasing by a ton. I just feel generally tired and am thinking of switching pills."

For Birth Control "I have taken Lessina for only 2 months. I was so scared of trying it because of all the negative comments on it, but for me, I have no side effects whatsoever! I get emotional when I'm going through PMS, but that's 100% normal for me. I take mine before I go to bed (I work overnights), so at 9 am, if I do get nauseous, I don't feel it at all. I haven't gained weight, normal PMS acne, no crazy mood swings. It feels like I'm not taking anything at all! I give it a 9 because I'm not sure how effective it is yet, lol. But I'll find out soon, lol."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been taking Lessina for a week, and it has genuinely been the worst week of my life. It took me until today to realize it was my birth control. I’ve had anxiety/depression for as long as I can remember, but the suicidal thoughts I’ve had this week have been nothing like I have ever experienced. I’ve cried constantly and randomly for no reason. My poor boyfriend has tried to help. I threw up last night, haven’t been eating, I’m nauseous all the time. I will not be ingesting this pill a single day more. I genuinely almost checked myself into a mental institution, and I fully believe it has to do with this pill."

For Birth Control "I thought there’s something wrong with me, but after I’ve read those comments on here about Lessina, it’s horrible. It’s my second week of taking these pills, and it gives me a migraine, nausea, lower abdomen pain, UTI, and acne!!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for about 4 months now. It started okay with almost no side effects, however, since the second month, my anxiety and obsessive thoughts have gotten really bad. I could be considered a very happy person, I’ve never had anxiety or these kinds of thoughts before, and now I’m just an emotional mess that I cannot recognize. I tried working out, eating better, and just putting my things in order to see if maybe that was causing it, but after looking and looking for other reasons to justify my mood, irritability, and anxiety, I came to this pill as my last conclusion. I did not have other side effects, very sore boobs if anything. I didn’t get pregnant, which is positive (?), didn’t get nausea, and had headaches only for a couple of weeks when starting. Don’t get scared if you want or need to try it though, it is birth control, and it works differently for everybody. It might work for you. Good luck out there, ladies!!"

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Lessina postpartum, and it has been great! Helped regulate my postpartum depression and anxiety. I, however, have an increase in appetite and experienced mild headaches and nausea for the first couple of weeks. I love the fact that it regulates my period, I always know when I'll have it and am prepared! I definitely will continue to take it and love it."

For Birth Control "I began taking Lessina last month, and I do not recommend! The first few weeks, I had a consistent headache. Secondly, my appetite largely increased. Then, I was very, very emotional! I am having breakdowns over everything that happened. My anxiety has been way worse, and so have my intrusive thoughts. I thought for sure I at least wouldn't have a bad period. Wrong! This has been the worst period I've had in years! Such heavy bleeding, nausea, which caused me to have a panic attack, chills, headaches, the whole nine yards. Please do not take this medicine."

For Birth Control "Lessina is making me as manic as I was when I was off my bipolar medicine. I'm having extreme anxiety attacks that wake me up at 3 a.m. every night now. I'm very nauseous and wake up at any time from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. and throw up, this is the first day that I haven't thrown up. I cried and had a manic breakdown over water yesterday. I know it's from this birth control because I was doing a lot better a week ago. I started taking Lessina on Sunday. Now I experience migraines as well as moodiness, really hoping this goes away, but if it doesn't, I'm going to switch. The only pros of this medicine are you get nauseous and can't eat, so your stomach looks flatter. I haven't seen any difference in my boobs, but they're sore as anything. I don't recommend this at all."

For Birth Control "When I first started this pill in the first month, after a few weeks I broke out like crazy. I am on the second month now and it has gotten a lot better. I haven't broken out yet this month, but I just have some leftover scarring. I haven't had any weight gain and have no effects on mood, but I do have breast tenderness. I had an increase in sex drive my first month, but now it seems to have balanced out. The only thing is if I accidentally miss a day and double up the dose the next day, I will feel extremely nauseous. I was previously on Trinessa Lo and I prefer Lessina over Trinessa."

For Birth Control "Loved it at first, but now I'm totally over it. The first few days, I got headaches that went away quickly and didn't bother me much. The first week, I was nauseous, that went away and was bearable. The first month went by smoothly. The second month was absolutely bad. Non-stop bleeding. It's not a heavy flow, just light spotting, but three weeks of light spotting is horrible! I've been PMS'ing for three freaking weeks! Fighting with my boyfriend, paranoid anxiety, acne all over my body, AND A HORRIBLE VAGINAL ODOR, it's not going away and makes my boyfriend not want to have sex. So what's the point of birth control if we're not even having sex?! Right now, I haven't bled in three days, which is a miracle, but the smell still lingers and I'm showering three times a day. My doctor keeps telling me to wait three to four months for my body to adjust, but the stench is unbearable and I'm probably going to switch brands."

For Birth Control "I was only on this pill for two weeks and immediately discontinued use due to massive weight gain (10 lbs to be exact), mild nausea daily that was similar to morning sickness, that lasted all day, headaches all day, every day, and the kicker, immense chest pain. My friend passed away from a PE directly related to this pill last month (per the coroner). She was 32. Do not take this."

For Birth Control "I had a very bad experience from this birth control. I had no issues at first, however, after a month of taking it, I developed intense nausea. I started dry heaving every morning and completely lost my appetite and was unable to eat for about a week. I went to the doctor, and they recommended I stop taking this pill. After a few days of stopping the pill, I felt so much better and was able to start eating again. On top of the nausea, this pill also made me very anxious and irritable. I normally don’t have anxiety. I come to find out all of this was because of this pill. I’m starting to feel like my regular self again after stopping this pill. I do not recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I was on Lutera, which was great for me, then Vienva, which was okay, then now Lessina. I've been way more anxious, and I've been having outbursts, not to mention breakthrough bleeding. I'm usually pretty regular, but not with this birth control. Overall, it prevents pregnancy, but my libido has dipped, and I sometimes experience nausea as well. This birth control might work for others, but it does not work for me."

For Birth Control "The first week, I took BC at 8 am and would feel so nauseous afterward that I had to fall back asleep or I would vomit (I only threw up once because I was unable to get back to sleep after taking it). It made me a little nauseous all day, every day I was taking it. When I started the second week in the pill pack, I suddenly got blurry vision, severe headaches, and dizziness on top of the increased nausea, which lasted all day. I decided to stop taking it after that. From what I experienced, the only good effect it had was that it lessened my acne. I wouldn't ever go back on it, though. I was debilitated for an entire day due to overwhelming side effects. All I could do was lay on my floor or bed and try to sleep."

For Birth Control "I was on Lutera, which was amazing. No nausea, light periods, fewer breakouts, then Vienva, which was okay, then Lessina. Lessina started okay, then I started spotting between periods, having longer, heavier periods, nausea my first day back on the hormone pill, and back pain. I tried to tough it out for a few months, but couldn't stand the side effects anymore and asked my OB if I could switch back to Lutera. This pill was not for me, but everyone is different. Not the worst, but definitely not great for me personally. I didn't get pregnant though, which is a plus."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control I've ever had. My skin was clear, but once I started taking this, I had the worst acne. I was bloated, went from a size 3 to 7 within a week. I was nauseous, my breasts were tender and swollen. My appetite increased. The only good thing about it was it increased my sex drive. I switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I actually liked it, but the only thing is it decreased my sex drive. Now I'm on Aubra since Planned Parenthood doesn't have it anymore, so far, no side effects."

For Birth Control "After about 3 months on Lessina, I experienced abnormal bleeding. My cycle lasted for over 2 weeks, it was extremely heavy and unbearable. I ended up going to the doctor on day 14, and they prescribed Provera to stop the bleeding. It took 4 days on Provera to slow it down. Also, I had severe nausea in the beginning."

For Birth Control "First off, a note that not all medicines work the same for everyone! I started taking Lessina roughly a year and a half ago. I used to have debilitating pain during my periods, where I literally could not get off the floor due to being so nauseous, lightheaded, and in pain. I also had really bad mental/emotional premenstrual symptoms that I didn't even notice I had until I started taking the pill. I started the pill the day my period was supposed to start, but it didn't, so I didn't get it for a couple of weeks, and then I bled for two weeks long. I also struggled a tad bit emotionally adjusting as the hormones gave me bad mood swings. Although after the first month or two everything started regulating out, and since it's been amazing (for me)! I can actually go places when I have my period, and I no longer get severely depressed the week leading up to my period. I do have times of increased mood swings, though, especially if I miss my pill and have to take it either with or closer to my next pill."

For Birth Control "I had never taken any other oral contraceptive prior to Lessina. I believe the decision to order this low-dose option for me was based on my relatively small size, 103 pounds. I took it for 4 months. During that time, I had the worst acne of my life and was nauseated every day, and I had migraine headaches with vomiting at work, which ceased when I quit taking the pill. My PMS symptoms were also worse. The price has been volatile. In March 2016, I paid $8.82 (which seemed like a great deal) to get a 28-day pack from Walmart for home delivery. In July 2016, the same pack from Walmart for home delivery cost $21.92. My health insurance is provided by a Catholic employer, so these are uncovered expenses."

For Endometriosis "This pill is the worst. I have been on many different pills due to an insurance change and BCP discontinued for years. I have severe anxiety, which I never have. I have heart palpitations and arrhythmias my new cardiologist says are benign. I have insomnia, nausea, bloating, spotting every week, and sweating! I have endometriosis, which is awful, but this pill takes the cake."
