For Birth Control "I began taking Lessina last month, and I do not recommend! The first few weeks, I had a consistent headache. Secondly, my appetite largely increased. Then, I was very, very emotional! I am having breakdowns over everything that happened. My anxiety has been way worse, and so have my intrusive thoughts. I thought for sure I at least wouldn't have a bad period. Wrong! This has been the worst period I've had in years! Such heavy bleeding, nausea, which caused me to have a panic attack, chills, headaches, the whole nine yards. Please do not take this medicine."

For Birth Control "I had to switch to a new contraceptive after being on Depo for 5 years. Since I was used to having no periods on the Depo, my doctor okayed me to take only active pills and never take the placebos. After 4 months, I started getting breakthrough bleeding on and off for the next 6 weeks. It did its job since I am baby-free, but I couldn't keep taking it from all the random bleeding for almost 6 weeks. While on it, I had headaches for the first few weeks, but they subsided. I was definitely more emotional while on it the first couple of months, but that leveled out mostly. I still would cry easier, though. The good thing is that I did seem to have a little bit higher sex drive."

"I am 50 years old. I started getting very sick a week before and the week during my period. My primary doctor diagnosed me as perimenopausal. I found a very nice OB/GYN who put me on Lessina November 30, 2018. The pill stopped my symptoms right away, but as soon as I took the sugar pills, my symptoms came back. So the doctor wants me to try a back-to-back and then try sugar pills again. If I get sick again, I will have to do only active pills, skipping sugars. The downside is I would get more spotting or breakthrough bleeding, but I don’t care. The fact I was so sick, I lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks. It was scary, but the Lessina pills helped so much."

For Birth Control "Loved it at first, but now I'm totally over it. The first few days, I got headaches that went away quickly and didn't bother me much. The first week, I was nauseous, that went away and was bearable. The first month went by smoothly. The second month was absolutely bad. Non-stop bleeding. It's not a heavy flow, just light spotting, but three weeks of light spotting is horrible! I've been PMS'ing for three freaking weeks! Fighting with my boyfriend, paranoid anxiety, acne all over my body, AND A HORRIBLE VAGINAL ODOR, it's not going away and makes my boyfriend not want to have sex. So what's the point of birth control if we're not even having sex?! Right now, I haven't bled in three days, which is a miracle, but the smell still lingers and I'm showering three times a day. My doctor keeps telling me to wait three to four months for my body to adjust, but the stench is unbearable and I'm probably going to switch brands."

For Birth Control "I was put on Lessina 3 months ago for heavy menstrual bleeding and large clots. The first pack, I did okay with a little spotting and a period that was heavy but less clots. The second month was horrible as far as spotting and the period goes. I spotted (basically a period worth) for the week leading up to my actual period. Then the period was excessively heavy. Now on the third month, I am done with it all. I'm through my first week of active pills and am 'spotting' as heavy as my first day of a period. Heavy enough to wear pads. This is ridiculous, and I would NOT recommend this medication to anyone. I've previously been on Lo Loestrin and plan to go back to that one."

For Birth Control "First time on BC and got prescribed this, the first couple of weeks were fine. I was advised to skip the white pills since I had planned a vacation. I spotted for a week straight, then started bleeding. It's been 2 weeks now, 3 weeks total, and I am still dealing with it. I have no other issues other than the longest period I have ever had and on-and-off cramps. Waiting to see if this changes in the third month or if I may need to switch or maybe stay off BC altogether."

For Birth Control "I was on Lutera, which was great for me, then Vienva, which was okay, then now Lessina. I've been way more anxious, and I've been having outbursts, not to mention breakthrough bleeding. I'm usually pretty regular, but not with this birth control. Overall, it prevents pregnancy, but my libido has dipped, and I sometimes experience nausea as well. This birth control might work for others, but it does not work for me."

For Ovarian Cysts "Been on Lessina for a month and a half, skipped sugar pills to not have to deal with my extreme PMS, as advised by my doctor. I have been bleeding for three weeks! The heaviest and most clotting period I have ever had to deal with! I have had tender breasts and horrible mood swings. I am so anxious and tired. I could not tell you if it works for birth control, haven't been able to have sex since I have started this due to a prolonged period."

For Ovarian Cysts "I began taking this pill after my insurance company sent this medication to my pharmacy instead of my Luthera. When I first started this pill pack, I didn't notice anything yet, but at the end of the second week, I missed a pill and then had breakthrough bleeding for three weeks straight. I also began noticing severe mood swings and mood changes, breast swelling and tenderness, and pretty consistent bloating. I thought I would give it one more month to see if my body just needed to adjust, but all the symptoms remained throughout the next month, aside from spotting a little less frequently, but the mood swings got 10 times worse at the end of the month when I was on the inactive pill and my everyday anxiety increased substantially as well. I couldn't handle the side effects from this and simply had to have my pharmacy order me the Luthera."

For Birth Control "My ob-gyn switched me to this from Sronyx, due to horrible mood swings, constant headaches, and 10-day-long periods. I like this pill, but I don't, and I gave it more than 3 months. I have been having some breakthrough bleeding any week on the active pills that lasts 1-2 days. I have had terrible stomach aches and food repulsions. With these symptoms being bothersome, I might have to switch again. I need a different pill that's not so harsh on my stomach. I do like that it shortened my periods, aside from the breakthrough bleeding, and there is no weight gain."

For Birth Control "Entire month of bleeding. I started this straight after I had my implant removed, and I get that my body is supposed to be adjusting from the differences, but I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to be nonstop bleeding for the entire time. I have acne on my chest and back now, getting zits more frequently. I’ve cried almost every single day, and I’ve been drier than the Sahara Desert. This is absolute garbage, and my partner and I are not impressed. I’m so confused by what I’m supposed to expect from my body at this point that I’m going off birth control for a month to get it back to normal."

For Birth Control "AWFUL. I forgot my regular birth control (Aubra) while on vacation, so the pharmacist at the place I was vacationing at gave me these. They were fine for the week I was there, but now I am spotting BAD every day. Some days I’ll wake up and there’ll be blood in my underwear, or sometimes an hour before I’m scheduled to take my pill, I’ll start bleeding. I have not had a period in four years (I had Nexplanon inserted 3 years, then I got on Aubra and skipped placebos). Now since taking this, it’s like every day I am bleeding randomly AND suddenly have acne + cystic acne! I kept taking it (2 months) to see if any of my symptoms would stop, but they are actually getting WORSE. Stopping this awful, awful birth control immediately and throwing away the last month of it."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control for almost a year. When I first started on it, I would have random bleeding that seemed to last three weeks. When my bleeding finally regulated, I started feeling super bloated, so much so that I took a pregnancy test and guess what? It turns out I'm pregnant. Not far along enough to cause bloating, but I know I didn't miss a pill. Surprise!"

For Birth Control "After about 3 months on Lessina, I experienced abnormal bleeding. My cycle lasted for over 2 weeks, it was extremely heavy and unbearable. I ended up going to the doctor on day 14, and they prescribed Provera to stop the bleeding. It took 4 days on Provera to slow it down. Also, I had severe nausea in the beginning."
