For Birth Control "This birth control is the only birth control (thus far) that doesn't give me side effects. I am so happy I came across this medication because I can still enjoy intimacy in my long-term relationship. I did have nausea the first 3 days of taking it, but it subsided. However, I notice if I skip the sugar pills and go to the new pack, I get migraines. That's a simple fix by taking the whole pack rather than skipping to the next one. I was originally on Aviane, but my insurance switched the brands. According to pharmacists, they are essentially the same thing. I'm very sensitive to hormones and I had no problems switching."

For Birth Control "I moved to the US, and my BC was not available here, so I looked for something similar. My doctor prescribed Lessina (year 2017), and so far my body adjusted to it really quickly. Just occasional migraines (not really because of BC). Sex drive going low is reasonable (life gets busier). My legs get tired after standing for more than an hour (maybe due to circulation affected by the BC), but this is still reasonable. No acne breakout. No weight gain, although I want to gain some. No bloating. Cramps were gone in the first year. I know when to expect my period, and the period is light...only have to use a pad for 2 days, liners for the first and last day. This past year, though, I had some yeast infections, which I blame on the BC for messing up my hormones. But I'm in my 3rd year of using this, no plan of switching to other brands, would recommend Lessina!"

For Birth Control "I loved this pill. My periods were only 5 days, pretty light, and I only cramped on the first day. I took it for about two years and only had a problem when I accidentally missed one pill and spotted until my next period. The one side effect I did have was migraines. Other than that, it worked perfectly for me, and I would take it again."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lessina for about 5 months now, and I have definitely noticed a difference. My periods are shorter and lighter (a huge reason why I went on birth control in the first place is because I'm anemic, and my periods were horrible). As many others have said, the migraines do happen often, but all my life, I have been getting headaches regularly, so it's nothing different. My skin has cleared up, and I only have minor breakouts due to wearing a mask (for COVID) and not the birth control. I experienced slight weight gain, and my boobs grew, which I was kinda happy about, lol. Recently, I missed a pill and spotted until my period started, but it wasn't too bad. I definitely experience moody episodes before my period, which I never experienced before, but I will not be switching brands anytime soon because I'm happy with how it has been treating my periods."

For Birth Control "I thought there’s something wrong with me, but after I’ve read those comments on here about Lessina, it’s horrible. It’s my second week of taking these pills, and it gives me a migraine, nausea, lower abdomen pain, UTI, and acne!!"

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me to Lessina from Aviane, saying that it was just a generic brand and basically the same thing, so I took it for 4 months. In the first month, I noticed my anxiety started to flare up out of control, and I would get very bad migraines. Then it got worse, I was short of breath from doing simple tasks or even nothing at all. Then came numb arms and chest pains, and the doctor telling me I have extremely high blood pressure (I've always had great blood pressure). Then I started experiencing excruciating pain from the base of my spine all the way up into my skull and my jaw, I could hardly sleep. I drove myself crazy trying to figure out what was causing it, then I read the side effects of this birth control and realized I had over half of the severe ones. I stopped taking it, and all those horrible symptoms stopped. I was so relieved. I know everyone is affected differently, so just keep an eye out for the extreme symptoms so that you can get help if you react adversely."

For Birth Control "Lessina is making me as manic as I was when I was off my bipolar medicine. I'm having extreme anxiety attacks that wake me up at 3 a.m. every night now. I'm very nauseous and wake up at any time from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. and throw up, this is the first day that I haven't thrown up. I cried and had a manic breakdown over water yesterday. I know it's from this birth control because I was doing a lot better a week ago. I started taking Lessina on Sunday. Now I experience migraines as well as moodiness, really hoping this goes away, but if it doesn't, I'm going to switch. The only pros of this medicine are you get nauseous and can't eat, so your stomach looks flatter. I haven't seen any difference in my boobs, but they're sore as anything. I don't recommend this at all."

For Birth Control "My first month on Lessina, I had pretty consistent migraines, which I didn’t have before. After getting over that adjustment hurdle, it’s been great. I used to have really bad joint pain before and after my periods, but after starting Lessina, it’s been super mild, if not non-existent. It has also helped balance my mood. I used to have pretty bad mood swings, which have also subsided over the last few months. When I first started, I read the reviews, which freaked me out a little bit, but remember everyone is different! I have loved my time being on Lessina, and I wish you the best of luck finding something that works!"

For Birth Control "It's my 3rd week on Lessina, switching from Junel Fe (which has a different progestin). I had never had serious problems with anxiety until I started these pills. I started having severe migraines like never before, as well as tiredness, leg cramps, and outbursts of anger. I tried it out and now know these aren't for me. I don't feel normal, so I will be finding another form of contraception. Worst birth control I've had thus far."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lessina for about 4 months now. I used to take Seasonique, for whatever reason, they prescribed me awful birth control instead. I'm so moody and literally hate the world and myself. I cry all the time, honestly, I have the worst mood swings I've ever experienced. I stay so depressed that all I do is want to lay in bed and cry or sleep. I've gained 20 lbs from this and got some acne. I constantly have the worst crushing migraines I've ever had in my life. Just all around the worst experience. It works for preventing pregnancy, but it's not worth the emotional state it leaves you in."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lessina for 3 months now. I really like the pill, only a few complaints such as breakouts here and there, migraines off and on, and a very lengthy period. Before taking Lessina, my cycle would last roughly 5 days, now it lasts about 2 weeks, which is really the only reason I'm looking to change to another pill. On a positive note, no menstrual cramps at all, which is amazing."

For Birth Control "Wow. I started on the third day of my period, which was a Sunday as directed. It’s two weeks later and I’m still on my period (day 17). I have migraines 3-5 times a month usually, but have had them every other day with this. I stopped taking the pill about a week after I started and then had a migraine that lasted four days, even with using my prescription migraine pills. I had a large blood clot as well. I went back to the doctor, and they suggested I try to ride it out. Nope. On day 15, my period, which had been light, came back full force and was heavier than it’s ever been. I’m waiting for my body to clear the hormones out, but it’s been just awful. If you have migraines, think twice before taking Lessina."

For Birth Control "I had never taken any other oral contraceptive prior to Lessina. I believe the decision to order this low-dose option for me was based on my relatively small size, 103 pounds. I took it for 4 months. During that time, I had the worst acne of my life and was nauseated every day, and I had migraine headaches with vomiting at work, which ceased when I quit taking the pill. My PMS symptoms were also worse. The price has been volatile. In March 2016, I paid $8.82 (which seemed like a great deal) to get a 28-day pack from Walmart for home delivery. In July 2016, the same pack from Walmart for home delivery cost $21.92. My health insurance is provided by a Catholic employer, so these are uncovered expenses."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a good year and a half or so. I started because after having my second daughter, I hadn’t gotten my period for a year. She was exclusively breastfed as was her older sister (got my period back with her at 10 months old). So it’s been very effective in preventing pregnancy, and I have had no bad side effects until recently. Within the past 3 to 4 months, I’ve noticed I’ve been having mood swings, emotional outbursts, and horrible migraines (which historically I’ve never had), decreased libido (hubs works a lot now so no big deal), dizziness, and fogginess. Throughout the course of using, I did notice depressive emotions. I’ve now been off for about 1.5 weeks, and my headaches are lessened, and I’m noticing positive mood changes, however, my uterus and lower back are in mild discomfort and pain. My appetite has also gone back to normal, so no overeating, lol. I want my girls to have a happy mama."
