For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 2 years. My previous prescription made me very nauseous, so I was prescribed a less strong pill. Right away, it made me very emotional (I am not an emotional person at all, but that didn't bother me as much). A few months ago, I realized how moody I was acting; I was sad and angry for no reason. So I decided to take a break and request a new prescription; however, I procrastinated for too long and needed the extra protection, so I decided to give it another try. It's been maybe 3 months, and I don't feel moody, but I get nauseous badly once a week for about 15 minutes, and then it goes away, but I do think it has a lot to do with starting over. It is very reliable. Contraceptive pills are different for everyone."

For Birth Control "I am going into the second week of taking birth control. I was super stoked for it, not going to lie, but after all these symptoms I'm having, I'm not so sure anymore. I know everyone's body is different, but if you are anywhere near as sensitive as I am, I wouldn't recommend taking it. Within the first week, I had woken up with extreme nausea and eventually vomited. With that occurrence, I had automatically thought the pill didn't work and I was pregnant, but I did take a test, and so far so good. Anyway, I am now starting to get period-type symptoms of tender breasts and cramps, which those are easy for me to look past and not worry too much about. However, not too long ago, I woke up and felt almost empty, sad, and depressed."

For Birth Control "I took Chateal for 3 months. I was depressed, got nauseous every day, got horrible headaches, gained 20 pounds, got horrible acne, had the worst cramps, lost my sex drive. I stopped taking them 3 weeks ago, my acne is clearing up, my headaches are gone, my sex drive is back, but I have been bleeding since I stopped taking them."

For Birth Control "I'm on my 3rd pack of Chateal, and I just called my birth control provider to ask them if they could switch me to another pill. It's worked for me the last 3 months that I've been on it, but with some side effects. Like really bad nausea, stomach pains, but the one that really bothered me was the acne. I usually have really clear skin and only get acne when I'm about to start my period, but ever since I started taking these, I break out like crazy! I expect to see a new pimple right after taking a pill. They're always really bad ones too! Hopefully my next pill is better!"

For Birth Control "Can't recommend. The mood swings and fatigue were nothing compared to the violent nausea I experienced when taking this pill. I actually mistook the symptoms for food poisoning for the first couple of days I was taking it. I figured my body would adjust eventually, but after a couple of weeks I couldn't handle it anymore. The sickness subsided immediately when I stopped taking this pill. Estrogen can irritate the stomach, so it might just be that I'm particularly sensitive. I'm now taking a progesterone-only pill, and so far no upset tummy. :)"

For Endometriosis "I started Chateal four months ago to stop endometriosis pain. It does the job, all I have is minor bloating and cramping occasionally. However, it has worsened my depression and made me irritable and mean. I get panic attacks too now, which never happened before. It's changed my personality. It makes me incredibly nauseous, and my appetite has lessened as well. I also get acne on my chest and back, which is new as well. Other than the lack of period pain, this pill has been a horrible experience."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Started this to treat abnormal, irregular periods. I can say it treated that perfectly. No irregular nor painful periods ever since I started it. I used to also break out super hard before my period, and that was also cleared up. I might get one small zit a month now. However, I cannot take this medication anymore. It has an incredibly strong effect on my mood, it makes me nauseous, and my appetite for both food and sex is nearly zero. I want to like this birth control. I've been on it for more than four months now, but it is not for me. I cannot handle how it affects my stomach and my mood. I won't say it's terrible, though, because it does do what it's meant to do. My periods are incredibly light and regular. Comes right on the second day of the last week and lasts only about three or four days. I recommend at least trying it. It is effective. Just keep a journal for your moods and sex drive."

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal for almost 2 months now. I went to Planned Parenthood because I was having irregular bleeding as well as really bad acne, which I never had before. They gave me a year's supply of Chateal, and as soon as I went home and saw the bad reviews, I was really hesitant to start them. The first few weeks, I felt a little nauseous, but nothing unbearable, a few headaches, but they weren't totally painful, and my acne cleared up. I was really happy that it seemed to agree with my body until I started to notice I was losing some hair. Now, 2 months into it, I feel like I've lost quite a lot of hair, there's no bald patches or anything, but I used to have really thick hair, and now my hair has really thinned out, and strands are always coming out constantly. It's making me really insecure about something I never had a problem with. As much as I'd love to stay on Chateal, I've made an appointment with my new doctor to hopefully find something else."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second month with Chateal. Honestly, I will stop using it for good. I gained 12 pounds in less than two months. I go every single day to the gym. I eat healthy, healthy, healthy!! My mood changed. I can't see my boyfriend because I feel like he is disgusting. I can't remember the last time I had sex with him. I have nausea, can't sleep, my knees are weak, my stomach hurts so bad. The good thing about it is that my periods are better. Every woman is different."

For Birth Control "Lately, I've been feeling 'off.' I feel moody and sometimes want to cry for no reason. I recently felt super nauseous, dizzy, and felt like I was going to faint while driving, but for no apparent reason. I went to the doctor, and everything was fine. I went to the optometrist, and everything with my eyes was fine. I've had panic attacks, severe anxiety, a feeling of 'blah,' headaches, and dizziness, plus all-around weirdness, and I believe it's from these pills. I was on a different birth control a while ago, and I got weird symptoms from it too. I'm going to change my pill and see if that does the trick. Plus, I've gained so much weight from this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for some time now, the first time I took it, it cleared my acne. No weight gain except in my boobs, went from a B to a C. Got off of it simply because I ran out. Back on it now. Some days I get nausea in the morning, some days I can be moody, and this time I have been breaking out like crazy. Been on it for 2 months now since the last time, will give it a few months to see if everything gets better."

For Birth Control "This pill isn't horrible, but it isn't pleasant. You just have to ride out the initial side effect you feel (if you do, everyone is different). Mood swings and nausea were my biggest side effects. My mood swings were so awful, my boyfriend and I had constant nonstop fighting that nearly brought us to the end of our relationship numerous times. It's something you can't explain. I was so irritable for no reason and somehow always took it out on him. I just started my 5th month pack, and everything is so much better. My body has probably adjusted to the pill already."

For Birth Control "The reviews online are correct. I got this form of birth control after explicitly telling my doctor I wanted to reduce breakouts, and she said this would help. I was excited. Went home and decided to read some reviews online. All horrible, especially regarding acne. I decided to give it a go anyway, hoping that only those with negative experiences reviewed the medication. After giving it my best shot, I have given up. Nausea, headaches, and acne. The explicit thing the doctor said would improve (I actually have nice skin off birth control, except around that time of the month). Not only do the personal reviews often say this causes breakouts, the side effects of the medication literally says acne vulgaris is a possible side effect. Horrible."

For Birth Control "Does its job. I've always had random nausea around the time of periods, so I cannot say Chateal is to blame. The first few weeks, I was especially nauseous, but it went away in time. No weight gain, no extra acne, no horrible mood fluctuations. One comment I must make is that it did noticeably diminish my sex drive."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking it, I was skeptical. I was nauseous for the entire first month I was on it, it was really bad. But once I got used to it, about four months in, my period became super regular, came on the night of the fourth pill every month since then, and I loved that about this pill. I did gain weight, not because of the pill, simply because of my eating habits and lack of exercise. One negative is that I got super crampy a week before my period and during up until the third day, then it stopped. My cramps actually got worse on the pill, but that was the only bad part. My periods did get even lighter (they were always light) and shorter. My periods ended up being four days, with the fifth day really being about not messing up my good panties."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is the first experience I've had with birth control thus far. I just began this birth control about a week ago. I'm not sure how to rate this because I have nothing to compare it to, but my experience has not been very good. The morning after the first day I took it, I felt so nauseous. By 10 am, I had thrown up absolutely everything in my stomach. I feel nauseous after every meal now and also get mild headaches. I have to say my acne has cleared up a bit, and I haven't had any other bad symptoms. I'll have to reevaluate after I have been on Chateal for a while, but as of right now, it makes me feel very sick."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about a year now. I'm 18 years old, and this was the first birth control I've ever been on. At first, I thought it was great, no problems at all, my periods were only 4 days. Everything was good. I'd say about the third month, I started getting all these symptoms. I'll wake up with extreme nausea and have to throw up. I had sharp pains in my stomach. I get very emotional and want to cry all the time for no reason. I do have mood swings, mostly when I'm about to start my period, which is pretty normal. But just recently, like the last few months, I've been feeling very depressed and sad for no reason. Everyone's body is different, and this is just what happened to me, just wanted to share."

For Birth Control "Severe pain when menstruating. First month I went from 118 lbs to 102 lbs. Not normal. I got no acne whatsoever, but my skin just looked tired and dull. I lost my appetite and had no sex drive at all and was so hard to orgasm. I was jealous and super anxious, depressed, and moody. I also got two ear infections in the same month and a popped eardrum, which I’ve never had. Ear infections before, yeast infection, recurring sinus infection. Then about 5 months in, I had extreme pain on one side and bleeding and nausea. I thought I was having a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. All scans came out normal. Migraines with flashing lights. Depression. This pill did NOT work for me. I stopped it and felt better literally two days later. I feel back to myself, I gained some weight that I needed, and my skin looks way better. Going to try Yaz. Good luck, ladies."

For Birth Control "Been on Chateal for about a month now. Tried Depo previously, which was terrible. I bled for 6 months straight, my face broke out terribly, and my sex drive was in the gutter. So far, the only thing I notice with this pill is that my cramps during the placebo week are WAAAAY worse than my cramps prior to taking Chateal. And my sex drive went down a bit, but not too bad. Also, breakthrough bleeding since I started taking it, but I'm giving it a 3-month window to see improvement with that to see how my body adjusts to the hormones. Prior to taking Chateal, I had a 'luxury' period. About 4 days, barely any cramps or mood changes. Just a bit of nausea. I hope that doesn't change drastically."

"I was irregular with my period, so I was put on Chateal. It's my second month, and everything has been going fine. I did experience nausea, but nothing too extreme, and I actually lost a little weight, but, again, nothing drastic. I was so scared to start because I saw so many bad reviews, but honestly, it's not too bad. I'm not sure if I got back acne from the pill, but it's going away now."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control when I was 18 and have been on it for about 8 months now. Once I first started it, I was so nauseous and had horrible headaches. When it came time for me to get my period, I missed it, then it came the next month with the worst cramps I have ever experienced. My face is kind of acne-prone, and it cleared up a little bit, but not a whole lot. I've gained about 15 pounds, and after I take the pill, I get so hungry. My periods are about the same, I'm just a little bit lighter, and it's like a day shorter, but my period does come EXACTLY 28 days from my first day. I experience really bad cramps, like going to the ER cramps, and they got a little better, but not to the point where I have no cramps. I guess it's alright."

For Birth Control "I've been using this pill since around November 2015. My experience with this birth control has been very positive. I've been having unprotected sex and never have gotten pregnant. My boyfriend came in me once recently, and I've been experiencing nausea lately. I'm not sure what it's from or if it's a sign of pregnancy, but I do trust that this pill will protect me from getting pregnant. The nausea could be from the pill itself, which is what other people have been experiencing while on this pill. I know exactly the date when my period comes now, which is nice. Side effects for me could be depression and nausea. I went on antidepressants a couple of months after taking this pill. Acne is gone!!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on another brand of BC, but I had a lot of issues with it, and Planned Parenthood gave me a free year's supply of Chateal, so it was worth a try. I have had no issues—in fact, it helped some issues I was having. I’ve had periods that lasted over 4 months in the past, or horrible, painful bleeding where I’d soak through my pants every 45 minutes. I was also very irregular and had a lot of acne. After the first two months, my periods are completely regular and do not last more than 5-7 days. Acne cleared up, and I lost some weight. And no pregnancy, so yay. Only thing is I was nauseous for the first 2-3 months or so, and definitely more depressed than usual, but I already have depression, so there’s that. The pros outweigh the cons with this brand."

For Birth Control "The only reason I gave it two stars is because it's effective at doing its job, though it probably doesn't matter because I took Plan B quite a few times since this birth control made me throw up so often, nearly every morning I took it, sometimes at night as well since I took it at 9 pm. It also gave me MORE acne, and I bled for nearly 3 weeks after starting it, though it may be because I was switching to Chateal from the Depo shot. I switched off of the Depo shot because I gained 30 pounds and was extremely moody, but with this birth control, I am always having headaches, feeling nauseous, throwing up."

For Birth Control "My experience with my first month of using Chateal has been eventful. I feel a little less stress in the getting not getting pregnant aspect of taking birth control, however, the side effects have been testing. I'm almost always feeling nauseous or bloated, and I can tell I've gained a lot of weight. I have had crazy mood swings, which has caused some issues between my boyfriend and me. I was out to eat with some friends, and I literally wanted to simultaneously punch a wall, laugh, and cry all at once. I feel my depression is growing stronger, but I am taking preemptive strikes to keep that controlled. Yes, I would suggest this pill. However, Chateal may not be for everyone."
