For Birth Control "I've been taking Chateal for a little over a year. It's a great option if you want to become incredibly depressed, gain 15 pounds you can never get off, have no sex drive, and never have another orgasm. To look on the bright side, I didn't get pregnant!"

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 5 months before deciding to get off of it a week ago. For birth control and unwanted pregnancy, it definitely does the job. The first couple of weeks, I felt nauseous almost every day and just all around sick. One time, I felt so overwhelmed and burst into tears at work for no real reason. After week 3, those feelings went away, and I didn't have those problems anymore. However, I feel as if it suppressed my metabolism, and I gained about 15 pounds. And tired. All I wanted to do was sleep all day, and if I let myself, I slept for hours. The biggest issue I had, though, is my sex drive went completely away. I didn't care if I had sex or not, which created a big problem with my boyfriend."

For Birth Control "I got on these pills mainly due to the fact that my partner and I are highly sexually active. As of late, not much due to these pills making me moody, as well as, of course, I would get one of the rare side effects. I have vaginal dryness, I have no period, which makes me sketched out, and my libido is low. This pill just isn't for me. I couldn't make it past the one-month mark. I feel like I should have shopped around for more options on the pill side."

For Birth Control "I have been on this same birth control for 6 years. I haven’t had any unwanted weight gain, no cramps. I do have an awesome regulated period, and finally, my acne has been gone for about 8 months now, and I struggled hardcore with deep cystic acne, and I’m only left with scars. (Thank you!!!!) I don’t have any issues with depression or any signs like that. I do normally have some anxiety, but it hasn’t gotten worse from taking the pill. There is one thing that I struggle with on a day-to-day basis. I have been with the same partner for 4 years, and while we have always had a great sex life (no problems with orgasms), I just have an extremely low sex drive, and I believe this birth control has caused that. It feels like it’s only getting worse. I hope my review helps you. It’s great because no pregnancy, but everyone’s side effects will be different."

For Birth Control "It kept me from getting pregnant, but gave me horrible cramps, even in between periods. My mood was out of control. I had extreme anger and depression, I've never felt so crazy in my life. Mild headaches, but they were daily. Lost my sex drive and got a yeast infection like immediately. Couldn't eat anything, which may sound like a dream come true, but it was really unhealthy. Forcing myself to eat made me nauseous. Also had vaginal dryness, felt really dehydrated, and was constipated. Definitely not the right pill for me. Good luck, ladies, I hope you have a better experience on this. * Take it at the same time every day or you'll get nauseous!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for about two months to see if it would help with the constant yeast infection I was getting with my previous birth control, it made it worse. I read some reviews before taking this and read a lot of people going through depression but thought to myself it's not going to happen to me. This made me depressed to the point, not wanting to commit suicide but thinking, OMG, this is why people think about it. I hated my life, and there is nothing in my life to be upset about, and making this worse was this pill made me completely lose my sex drive. No wonder the pill works because it makes me not even have the urge to have sex. I stopped taking this pill. I wouldn't recommend this pill to anyone. I only gave it a 7 because it did its job."

For Birth Control "I started taking Chateal about a month and a half ago. The first month was fine, and I thought I found a BC with no side effects. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for the second month. Around my 5th week, I started to get bad headaches and wasn’t sure where it was coming from until I read the reviews. My other side effect was irregular bleeding. My period ended between 4-5 days, and then about 4 days after it ended, I started bleeding again. It wasn’t heavy, and it wasn’t deep red, however, it did have a “scent” that isn’t normal for me or my periods. I’m trying not to stop because, of course, I don’t want to get pregnant, but my side effects are embarrassing and uncomfortable. Seeing now that a lot of women lost their sex drive is really making me want to stop this medication tomorrow. Hopefully, your experience is different."

For Birth Control "I was on Chateal for about two years until I moved to a different state that didn't carry it. The best thing about it was it cleared my skin completely! I wouldn't even wash my face for days, and I still never got a pimple (I'm definitely prone to acne). However, it did lower my sex drive and make me extremely apathetic. The week before my period, I always got aggravated easily too, which was odd 'cause I'm a very mellow person. No weight gain, though! The first month, it did make me a little emotional, but after that, I really didn't have any emotions (which was the problem). However, I really do miss this medication. Now I constantly have acne, and the pill I'm on now makes me spot. Definitely recommend Chateal, though."

For Birth Control "Everything seemed fine, except for being super moody and crying a lot. I've had gas, bloating, vomiting twice, keeping me up all night, and that never used to happen. Also, a decreased libido. Honestly, not having sex is better than this."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was put on Chateal 5 months ago because I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism. I had bleeding for 28 weeks prior, so they wanted to stop it. It didn't regulate me at all. I've experienced period cramping, which I've never had before. I've lost weight and my sex drive. I've had nausea, dizziness, frequent migraines, blood in stool. But worst of all, stomach cramps and extreme pain in the abdomen area. If I stop taking the pills, the bleeding will continue, and I won't be able to get the tests I need to find out what is wrong. All in all, I'm going back on Friday to get more tests and a biopsy. If this birth control gives you extreme side effects or doesn't regulate your period, contact your doctor right away."

For Birth Control "I took Chateal for 3 months. I was depressed, got nauseous every day, got horrible headaches, gained 20 pounds, got horrible acne, had the worst cramps, lost my sex drive. I stopped taking them 3 weeks ago, my acne is clearing up, my headaches are gone, my sex drive is back, but I have been bleeding since I stopped taking them."

For Birth Control "I was on Chateal for about 2 months, and the first month wasn't too troubling until I hit the second month, and I developed a lot of emotional and mental instabilities that I've never had before. I came across suicidal thoughts, and my sex drive was pretty much nonexistent, which has never been a problem before (hence the BC). I got off of it after a week of a mental breakdown, and I started feeling much better and myself again, but I had HORRIBLE intense period cramps immediately after. I personally did not like this birth control."

For Premenstrual Syndrome "This helped my PMDD, however, it makes sex painful, no matter how much lubrication I use. It also caused me to develop post-coital dysphoria, which I never experienced before I went on the pill. This pill also lowers libido, which can be positive or negative, depending on who you are."

For Birth Control "For many years, I took a different form of combined hormone birth control pills (Apri). I eventually discontinued this when I realized it had been what was causing anxiety (panic attacks), low libido, and migraine headaches. Earlier this year, I decided I would like to try a different type of pill and was given Chateal. I started in early March and have constantly questioned it. This type of pill has not caused the problems I had with Apri, which is great, and has also made my boobs about 2x bigger (!! awesome), but I have many other side effects. Side effects include: severe breast tenderness, weight gain (5 lb in 4 months, which is very unusual for me), but also just general abdominal bloating, cystic acne on face/chest/back (which I never have usually), poor sleep (waking up frequently), mild anxiety and sharp irritability, and thick white vaginal discharge (unrelated to yeast infection). Maybe this pill works for some people, but after 4.5 months, my body is clearly not taking well to it."

For Birth Control "The first month of taking it, it had my emotions all out of whack. There was definitely a decrease in my sex drive. I didn't see a difference in my weight or acne. Those stayed about the same. My period cramps are much worse. But overall, the pill did prevent me from getting pregnant."

For Birth Control "So it did its job in keeping me not pregnant, but I did notice some weight gain, and my reason for leaving this pill was huge: ZERO sex drive. I have never had a problem with this before, nor have I ever had a problem with self-lubrication, but almost immediately after starting this pill, my sex drive plummeted, and I could not get wet during sex at all."

For Birth Control "I'm 18 years old, and I started taking this after the first time I had sex. Overall, this prescription has proven to be so accurate, but I am very big on taking it every day at almost the exact same time (30 minutes off, but never more than that). And I did notice when I first got on it, my sex drive went down and I had been really moody. Things that wouldn't normally get to me did, but not 6 months in, everything is getting regular. Very, very effective!"

For Birth Control "Does its job. I've always had random nausea around the time of periods, so I cannot say Chateal is to blame. The first few weeks, I was especially nauseous, but it went away in time. No weight gain, no extra acne, no horrible mood fluctuations. One comment I must make is that it did noticeably diminish my sex drive."

For Birth Control "Gave this a 7/10 because I’ve been on it for 3 years and haven’t gotten pregnant (yay!), but I recently found out this birth control has been suppressing my hormones. My hormone levels are at 1.4, and they should be at 2.5 and above. My doctor told me birth control is supposed to regulate your hormones, not suppress them. Also, my sex drive is nowhere to be found."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Chateal for seven days, and I decided to stop. I chose to give this a try, although I read all the mixed reviews. The first two days started off great, no side effects except for breast tenderness. The third day came, and I began vomiting periodically, stomach pains, loss of appetite, and I lost my sex drive (bonus for me, negative for husband, lol). It is cost-effective, I noticed that my acne had reduced significantly, but the toll it takes on the body is not worth it."

For Birth Control "Severe pain when menstruating. First month I went from 118 lbs to 102 lbs. Not normal. I got no acne whatsoever, but my skin just looked tired and dull. I lost my appetite and had no sex drive at all and was so hard to orgasm. I was jealous and super anxious, depressed, and moody. I also got two ear infections in the same month and a popped eardrum, which I’ve never had. Ear infections before, yeast infection, recurring sinus infection. Then about 5 months in, I had extreme pain on one side and bleeding and nausea. I thought I was having a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. All scans came out normal. Migraines with flashing lights. Depression. This pill did NOT work for me. I stopped it and felt better literally two days later. I feel back to myself, I gained some weight that I needed, and my skin looks way better. Going to try Yaz. Good luck, ladies."

For Birth Control "Was on Chateal for around 3 years. Everything started off fine, my acne cleared up, my periods were lightened, and I never got pregnant. Around the end of the 3rd year, however, things started to go downhill. My mental health was unstable (even my boyfriend noticed a dramatic change), and my sex drive seemed to diminish. I never felt like I gained a bunch of weight, though, and that made me happy, so I never really felt the need to change my birth control. Just recently I started getting my birth control through Walgreens, and for some reason they prescribed me Levora. Since I switched, I feel like my old self (even my boyfriend noticed the change again), so I'm really happy I was basically forced to switch birth control pills. Chateal is not my favorite!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for 4 months. So far, no weight gain, my acne cleared up, no pregnancy issues, my breast size has increased (yay!), periods are really light and consistent. But I've been very emotional (which I hate), my libido isn't as high as it used to be, it's difficult to orgasm sometimes (which I never had a problem with before this birth control). I also think I'm starting to lose some hair. But overall, it's a great type of birth control to try out."

For Birth Control "I have been using this pill for almost a year now. At first, yes, I felt a little nauseous, but not over the top sick. It does the job (not getting pregnant). I’ve used patches, Mirena IUD, implants, and other pills. I definitely think this is a great pill for teenagers and adults. The only downfall for me is I don’t have much of a sex drive anymore. The good thing is no weight gain and no crazy breakouts. So it’s definitely worth a try. I’d recommend this pill for anyone."
