For Birth Control "DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION! I've been on this for two weeks, and it's been two weeks of HELL! My anxiety is through the roof, I'm overly emotional and cry all the time. (No suicidal thoughts though.) This pill will make you feel like you have food poisoning or the stomach flu or something. I have headaches, dizziness, an indigestion/heartburn-type feeling -- I just have this bizarre feeling near my upper stomach/diaphragm, I can't even describe it. I'm constantly gassy, whether it's through burping or passing gas, stomach cramps and pain, back pain down in and near my pelvis, pain in my lower right abdomen. No appetite. The side effects are worse when I'm at work, which makes it very hard to stay at work. Wicked nausea!"

For Birth Control "I got this birth control in February (now it's April), and I have noticed this pill has had a few side effects. One being I'm always tired and get tired out really easily, which is annoying because I'm always sleeping when I want to be with friends, another is nausea. I will feel sick occasionally and have headaches, and the last is being SUPER emotional. I will cry for no reason, and I believe it has made me a little depressed. I'm hoping this will all blow over, if not, I'm getting a new pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for a month and a half since Planned Parenthood switched me from Reclipsen. I've never had any side effects from my pills that I've used, I started with Diane when I was 18 because I had severe acne, and it went away with the pills like two weeks after I started! So happy I did that. After that, they switched me to Jasmine, which was fine, then Reclipsen, which was fine, and then Chateal. I've had two side effects with this pill so far: nausea and headaches. It hasn't been that bad, though, and I hope they go away. I feel like if you have a lot of side effects with pills, you will have them with all pills, and you should choose another method. This is the birth control that is for me but not for everyone!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal for about 2 months now. I have read about the negative side effects of this birth control, but different bodies have different reactions, and so far it has worked really well for me. I have high levels of androgens, which gave me really irregular periods, so I need to use birth control with more estrogen. I've used a different brand before and suffered severe mood swings and night sweats, which scared me from using pills for a long time. Ever since I gave Chateal a try, I've noticed that my old reactions to birth control are no longer there. I haven't gained weight or gotten mood swings. The only negative effect I get is the occasional headache. It works at preventing pregnancy and period regulation for me."

For Birth Control "I just want to share my experience because I'm pretty impressed with this pill. I was on another pill previously, and it was okay, except for the fact that I would spot ALL THE TIME, which got annoying. So my Dr. suggested I try this to see if my spotting would stop, and at first, I was hesitant to try it due to the bad reviews I've read, but I'm glad I tried it anyway because so far I don't have any negative reaction to it. No headaches, no increased appetite, no weight gain, no breast tenderness, I don't find myself really emotional, no PMSing, which is great. I would recommend trying it, it takes about 3 months for your body to adjust to BC pills. I'm glad it's working out for me, better than the previous pill I was on :)"

For Birth Control "Sooo, I took Chateal early 2019. The first month was okay, I thought I found a BC that worked for me! Sikeee!! The second month, I started having really, really bad anxiety, severe nausea, headaches, really bad thoughts (suicidal), smh! I had to stop mid-pack because the symptoms were horrid! Now, to the previous day, my fiancé and I want to have a little blessing, and it’s really hard because it’s been six months of trying and no luck, sadly! My periods are very irregular now, and it’s hard to track ovulation! I just hope I’m able to conceive soon!! Fingers crossed."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this medication shortly after my abortion (sadly). Normally in the past, I don't have major side effects of birth control, but Chateal birth control I did. First off, this birth control gives you the same exact symptoms of pregnancy: back aches, acne, nausea, fatigue, etc. I have been on this birth control for about 3 weeks now, and I had to QUIT. Please do not take this birth control. I have HORRIBLE nausea that lasts me all throughout the day, it is horrible. Also, my back aches are really bad as well. I had to take a pregnancy test. The acne I got from this was horrifying. Usually, I have pretty nice skin, and I RARELY get acne, but this made me break out on my whole face :( All together, this is not worth taking, I would DEFINITELY use condoms over this. Also, this medication causes me SEVERE anxiety as well and headaches! Please do not take this medication."

For Birth Control "I am 18, and this is the first birth control I have ever been on. I have really heavy and painful periods, so I decided to give it a try. It has been almost 3 weeks since I've taken it, and I've had an awful experience. A lot of nausea, headaches, really painful cramps last 30 seconds or so, but the worst has been my mental state. I wake up sometimes and feel almost numb, no energy, and sometimes I sit there with blank thoughts, but other times I just cry. I actually cry a lot, everything upsets me. My appetite has gone down, and I'm feeling like this just isn't worth it anymore."

For Birth Control "It kept me from getting pregnant, but gave me horrible cramps, even in between periods. My mood was out of control. I had extreme anger and depression, I've never felt so crazy in my life. Mild headaches, but they were daily. Lost my sex drive and got a yeast infection like immediately. Couldn't eat anything, which may sound like a dream come true, but it was really unhealthy. Forcing myself to eat made me nauseous. Also had vaginal dryness, felt really dehydrated, and was constipated. Definitely not the right pill for me. Good luck, ladies, I hope you have a better experience on this. * Take it at the same time every day or you'll get nauseous!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Chateal for 3 plus years, and so far I’ve been happy with it. It sucks for those who had the really bad side effects with Chateal. I mean we all have different body types, and we’re gonna experience it differently. So far, from what I experienced were the constant headaches I get before I get my period and the cramping. I’ve never had cramps before I started using birth control, but I can live with the minor problems. I had regular periods that last up to 4-7 days, never had irregular spotting/periods or tenderness on my breasts, and my emotions weren’t affected. For Birth Control "I started taking Chateal about a month and a half ago. The first month was fine, and I thought I found a BC with no side effects. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for the second month. Around my 5th week, I started to get bad headaches and wasn’t sure where it was coming from until I read the reviews. My other side effect was irregular bleeding. My period ended between 4-5 days, and then about 4 days after it ended, I started bleeding again. It wasn’t heavy, and it wasn’t deep red, however, it did have a “scent” that isn’t normal for me or my periods. I’m trying not to stop because, of course, I don’t want to get pregnant, but my side effects are embarrassing and uncomfortable. Seeing now that a lot of women lost their sex drive is really making me want to stop this medication tomorrow. Hopefully, your experience is different."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for almost 1 month, and starting my next month tomorrow. Not very many side effects, except for tiredness and a few headaches here and there. The headaches are coming more frequently now, but I am not sure if the birth control is causing this. But Chateal has worked great for me."

For Birth Control "I gave these pills a fair shot. After the first few months, I really started to notice extreme mood swings and an overall change in my mood. I was always angry, sad, and unhappy. Especially the week before my period, I was just plain psychotic. My cramps got worse on this pill too, they would start up to a week before my period. My periods got longer but also lighter. I gained 30 pounds in a year, and my acne got worse after about 6 months. The acne cleared up the first few months, though. I also would get nausea and headaches. My sex drive was just fine, no change. Vaginal dryness, yes. It did work, though, never had a single pregnancy scare. I just couldn't handle the mood changes, and neither could my relationship."

For Birth Control "I took Chateal for 3 months. I was depressed, got nauseous every day, got horrible headaches, gained 20 pounds, got horrible acne, had the worst cramps, lost my sex drive. I stopped taking them 3 weeks ago, my acne is clearing up, my headaches are gone, my sex drive is back, but I have been bleeding since I stopped taking them."

For Birth Control "I have been on Chateal for almost 3 years. I’ve read all these reviews and see that everyone hates it the first couple of months and gets off Chateal. Well, I hated it too the first 6 months. It gave me the worst headaches, backaches, and my breasts were sore. Also, I would get horrible chest pain. However, after those 6 months, I was fine. I never experienced any breakthrough bleeding. I always get my period when I’m supposed to, and it lasts 4-7 days. I think this is a great birth control because my partner and I don’t use condoms, and I’ve never had a pregnancy scare. I like it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal for almost 2 months now. I went to Planned Parenthood because I was having irregular bleeding as well as really bad acne, which I never had before. They gave me a year's supply of Chateal, and as soon as I went home and saw the bad reviews, I was really hesitant to start them. The first few weeks, I felt a little nauseous, but nothing unbearable, a few headaches, but they weren't totally painful, and my acne cleared up. I was really happy that it seemed to agree with my body until I started to notice I was losing some hair. Now, 2 months into it, I feel like I've lost quite a lot of hair, there's no bald patches or anything, but I used to have really thick hair, and now my hair has really thinned out, and strands are always coming out constantly. It's making me really insecure about something I never had a problem with. As much as I'd love to stay on Chateal, I've made an appointment with my new doctor to hopefully find something else."

For Birth Control "Lately, I've been feeling 'off.' I feel moody and sometimes want to cry for no reason. I recently felt super nauseous, dizzy, and felt like I was going to faint while driving, but for no apparent reason. I went to the doctor, and everything was fine. I went to the optometrist, and everything with my eyes was fine. I've had panic attacks, severe anxiety, a feeling of 'blah,' headaches, and dizziness, plus all-around weirdness, and I believe it's from these pills. I was on a different birth control a while ago, and I got weird symptoms from it too. I'm going to change my pill and see if that does the trick. Plus, I've gained so much weight from this pill."

For Birth Control "The reviews online are correct. I got this form of birth control after explicitly telling my doctor I wanted to reduce breakouts, and she said this would help. I was excited. Went home and decided to read some reviews online. All horrible, especially regarding acne. I decided to give it a go anyway, hoping that only those with negative experiences reviewed the medication. After giving it my best shot, I have given up. Nausea, headaches, and acne. The explicit thing the doctor said would improve (I actually have nice skin off birth control, except around that time of the month). Not only do the personal reviews often say this causes breakouts, the side effects of the medication literally says acne vulgaris is a possible side effect. Horrible."

For Birth Control "I switched my birth control to Chateal reluctantly because my previous birth control was discontinued. I didn't like the switch at all, after two months on it, I went to have my pill switched again, and my doctor said to give it more time, nothing ever changed. I gained a full cup size in my breast, as well as about 10 pounds total. I also had extreme headaches, breast pain, and was virtually emotionless. I just had my pill switched and am starting on Microgestin Fe at the end of the month."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was hesitant to try Chateal. Or any birth control, really. In the past, I have had them make my moods feel out of control and weight fluctuate. Due to PCOS, I needed to take this. HOWEVER, I am starting my second month on this. So far, the only side effects I have noticed are that my breasts are swollen (like two cups larger) and tender. I had a headache the first week after I took it (I took it in the evening to avoid any potential sickness), but the headaches went away after the first week. I do not notice any particular mood swings or weight gain. I am also not pregnant, which is great. I would recommend Chateal based on my current results."

For Birth Control "I'm 19 and I've been using Chateal for a month on Sunday. I think the pill is great, so far, it's been a smooth transition. The only thing I would have to say about it is that it delayed my normal period. Before I started the pill, I was super regular and had a calendar to track my periods, and I was about 5 days late when my period came, but I'm pretty sure that's normal when your body adjusts to the hormones. Nevertheless, it was a little scare, and I kind of have bad headaches, but I was told after month 3 they would go away, so I'm not really worried. Overall, this is a pill I would recommend, nothing out of the normal or too weird happened so far, so I'm pretty sure it can be trusted."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is the first experience I've had with birth control thus far. I just began this birth control about a week ago. I'm not sure how to rate this because I have nothing to compare it to, but my experience has not been very good. The morning after the first day I took it, I felt so nauseous. By 10 am, I had thrown up absolutely everything in my stomach. I feel nauseous after every meal now and also get mild headaches. I have to say my acne has cleared up a bit, and I haven't had any other bad symptoms. I'll have to reevaluate after I have been on Chateal for a while, but as of right now, it makes me feel very sick."

For Birth Control "Started taking four months ago, and boy, has it been a ride. Although I have no cramping anymore and my periods are only three days max, there are lots of things I don't like. First, mood swings are out of control. I get mad and cry over the craziest things (never like that before). I always feel super bloated, headaches all the time, and I'm always tired. Also, I got super bad acne on my face, never had any of these problems before the pill. It does its job, though, haven't gotten pregnant while having unprotected sex. So I guess you can take your chances since everybody is different!"

For Birth Control "I started this birth control when I was 18 and have been on it for about 8 months now. Once I first started it, I was so nauseous and had horrible headaches. When it came time for me to get my period, I missed it, then it came the next month with the worst cramps I have ever experienced. My face is kind of acne-prone, and it cleared up a little bit, but not a whole lot. I've gained about 15 pounds, and after I take the pill, I get so hungry. My periods are about the same, I'm just a little bit lighter, and it's like a day shorter, but my period does come EXACTLY 28 days from my first day. I experience really bad cramps, like going to the ER cramps, and they got a little better, but not to the point where I have no cramps. I guess it's alright."

For Birth Control "I have been on this for almost a year. My period is always on time now, I used to be irregular. Haven't gotten pregnant. Before I started Chateal, I had bad acne on my face, which is now better. If I do get a pimple or two, it's close to when I get my period. What I hate about it is I get really bad mood swings. I'm so sensitive now, little things make me cry and mad. Also headaches, but I do notice I get headaches when it's that time of the month. I don't know if it's the birth control, but I'm more fatigued lately."
