For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have struggled with IBS-D for 16 years. I've been in every medication available including antidepressants, bentyl, loperimide, lotronex, colestramine and many others. The Viberzi seems to control the diarrhea, but I am experiencing debilitating gas. Especially in the mornings but it lasts throughout the day. It's not just inconvenient, it's painful and uncontrollable. I want this medicine to be the one! I just don't know how to combat the gas. I am also having abdominal pain but will stay the course to see if these subside."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I took 4 doses and was rushed to ER this morning with chest pain. They treated me as if I was having a heart attack. I am admitted and tests are being run. Everything is pointing to this new drug I took. Also had dry mouth and confusion. Could hardly speak."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "This Viberzi has been a miracle drug for me. I take one 75 mg with my first meal of the day and I have not experienced any IBS “attacks”. I have been taking for 2 months. My only side effect has been mild constipation. I was having horrible pain and diarrhea and could not find any trigger foods. It seemed just food in general would bring on an attack. This medicine has been a life saver. I no longer have to run to a bathroom."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Was constipated most of the 2 weeks I was on it. One night all of the sudden I had horrible cramping under my rib cage and a pain that went all the way up my spine. The pain was so horrendous I was crawling on the floor, crying in pain, screaming in a pillow as to not wake my children. I would scream at times and nothing would come out. I had tears and mucous coming down my face. I literally thought I was in hell. I have NEVER experienced pain like this in my life. I have birthed 2 children and lived with Ulcerative Colitis/IBD for 15 years. I know what pain is. I wound up going to the ER and reporting this to my GI doctor. So much for this "miracle pill". I was so hoping this was going to work."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I first got IBS-D when I was a freshman in high school. Now, eight years later, I found Viberzi. I'm on my third month with it and it has worked wonders! I experienced abdominal pain when I first started, but I read the instructions and realized I needed to take it with food. It's important to take it with a meal, rather than a snack, since that works better for me. I take the 100 MG tablets twice a day. I still get anxious about going out, but after living with this for eight years, living a more normal life takes getting used to. I've only gotten diarrhea when I had a virus or that time of the month hit, but otherwise I haven't had any more incidents. I can even eat chili without getting sick!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been on this med for about a month now. I don't think I've gone this long without an attack since I was pregnant. My IBS-D went away with both pregnancies, weird I know. This drug has been amazing. The only side effect I have is constipation (I take a stool softener right now because I keep forgetting to buy fiber pills) and nausea if I don't take it with food (directions tell you to, so that's on me). Give it a try! Remember, a lot of insurance companies won't cover it yet because it's new, but they have a savings plan you can sign up for. Take advantage of it!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I wish there was a way to give this a negative number. I've had IBS for 14 years since having my gall bladder removed. I took the initial dose of this and not two hours later I was doubled over with severe pain right beneath my ribs. When the muscle spasms started, I went to the ER. I was admitted with pancreatitis and liver enzymes 10x normal. I spent 4 days in the hospital until my numbers were back to normal. I could not believe a pill could do this much damage in such a short time. Very Scary!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Well, I've had IBS issues for almost 5 years now. My prior Doctor put me on some other meds that helped with the have Diarrhea and stomach pain like nervous/unease/anxious. I have no reasons for these feeling at the bottom of my stomach. But the currents help but I still have those feeling and I've kinda learned to live with them. I heard about this new Drug and ask my doctor to let me try it and being on Viberzi 100mg two times a day. Now for 4 days, those feeling are like gone and no side effects. I cannot believe it, my BM are close to normal, food does not go straight thru me and those anxious feeling have disappeared. It has REALLY helped thus far. May 2016"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Suffered from IBS-D and anxiety for 20 years. Recently had a 6 month bout of terrible IBS-D. Became a hermit. Didn't want to leave the house, had huge panic attacks about traveling and became very depressed. Finally went to doctor. Had problems filing this med with health Alliance but BCBS covered it. Started taking 2 a day each 100mg and caused opposite problem. Now on 1 a day and this is a game changer. It's taken awhile to build up in my system but in 5 weeks I've only had 2 attacks--- and I was having 4-5 daily. If this stays the course it's seriously heaven sent! Slowly getting my life back!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have had IBS d every single day for 8 years. Started viberzi 100mg 2x a day works most days and every so often I will have an "attack" overall though it is hands down the best medication perscription or over the counter I have ever tried"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have suffered from ibs for 10 years, after many trips to the er for debilitating pain and no solutions from my gi Doctor. My PCP told me to try viberzi. I have been on viberzi 100mg since the first week in February and I finally have my life back. I have been able to spend more time away from home with my family without the fear or embarrassment of needing a bathroom immediately. This medicine is a godsend for me and my family!!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "2nd Rx drug I ever tried. 1st were those awful drink-mix packets of Loperamide. So my doctor recommends this new drug, take it and give it some time to work he says. Ok, well it's been a full month. It works 5 out of 7 days. Still some cramps/diarrhea after eating on the bad days. I'm not sure why the Viberzi isn't controlling the symptoms on those days so it loses a few stars. I didn't have any side effects. And the good days outnumber the bad now. I find myself wandering further away from a toilet than I used to. It's nice to work or run around without fear that I will need to get back before another bowel movement hits. So this drug earns 7 stars. (+) better quality of life, no negative side effects. (-) some days it doesn't seem to work"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "This is my second time on this medication. For some background, I have had IBS my whole life and had many tests done and tried all kinds of diets to try and help and nothing worked. I used to go to the bathroom 6-8 times a day (sometimes more, usually with cramps) I used to take bentyl but it makes me feel very sleepy and groggy. I took the 75mg for awhile but it became less effective so now I'm on the 100mg and it works a lot better and I'm down to going to the bathroom about twice a day with minimal or no cramps through out the day. The only side effect I have had is that about 10 minutes after taking the pill I feel weird, like a weird feeling, mostly in my upper back/shoulders. It goes away pretty quickly and doesn't hurt."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have had IBS D for 20 years but controlled with immodium and bentyl..Three years ago it was uncontrollable.Could not leave the house Stool cultures ,colonoscopy , blood work ,xrays and scans due to pain all negative. Immodium didnt work.Doctor termed as unspecified colitis and IBS D. Now taking lomotil, hyoscyamine, donnatol, and cholestyramine.This makes life bearable.Tried xifaxin and did nothing.Now got the 100 mg viberzi 2x daily. Took one pill with food yesterday morning. Within 15 minutes my legs turned to rubber, heart was racing, cold sweat, and difficulty breathing. The heart racing and breathing went away within half hour but the rubber legs lasted about five hrs.Severe abdominal pain, gas,metal taste til last nite. No more."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "For the last 20 years I have had issues with IBS-D. I'd say I would have a "normal" bowel movement 5% of the time with about 1-2 occurrences of rushing to the bathroom per day and the rest of the time just unpleasant bowel movements. My Gastro prescribed 75mg Viberzi and it worked almost immediately. I'd say in the first week I had two occurrences of diarrhea and the rest of the time I was "normal". After a month I have had diarrhea a total of 3 times, and had some of my best bowel movements in the last 20 years. I've even eaten Taco Bell several times and not had to go. It is truly freeing to not feel nervous about whether I would make it home in time after eating dinner."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have been taking 100mg bid for over a year now. I have never been so normal feeling in my gut. I do have some bad days with it, just depends on what I eat. I get stuck gas sometimes and have to really push and typically take a phazyme to relieve it. I don't get any adverse reactions. It's a pain in the butt at the pharmacy, but well worth it. I have had crohn's for 15 years now, had major bowel resection surgeries and lost my ileum. Every BM was watery and explosive and very very painful. After a few weeks of taking it, I was happy but did not think it would work for long. And this has seriously put me in remission and I have average 3 BMs a day that are semi-solid versus my old average at 15 or more per day. Changed my life!!!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "started this medication about two months ago - hard to get BC to pay for it, but after I did - it was a life saver. after suffering from IBS-D for years and having a particularly rough flare up over 6 months, after one week I was NORMAL. I feel so much better now. I know it might not work for everyone but it did for me. I don't have a gallbladder and only take one per day."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi has seriously changed my life! I have struggled with IBS pretty much my whole life. In high school I took 2 immodium every day. After having 2 kids, 13.5 months apart, I started having even more issues. Fast forward to 1.5 years later. Many days I would have to stop eating to use the restroom. Since starting the medicine, I’ve become more on the constipated side, going several times a day but not severely urgent like it was. I can actually going an hour or 2 after eating before going to the restroom and it’s not diarrhea. The only reason I give an 8/10 is because of how hard it’s made the stool. Like rabbit poops almost every time I go. I’m on 75mg twice a day and I plan to call my GI dr tomorrow to discuss deceasing the dose a little, either my splitting the tablet or taking once a day. Side note: my dr expressed the importance of having my gallbladder while taking this medicine and would not allow anyone to take it if they do not have their gallbladder"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi has changed my life.I take it for IBS and I am very grateful for this medicine. I have been on it about 6 months now. I was the first person my Gastro doctor perscribed it to. If I forget to take a dose I will know because my symptoms come right back and I take my pill and I'm fine again. I do not forget to take it very often. My insurance does not cover the medicine but I have a discount card and I only pay $30 a month co pay. The original price is way to high. It is over one thousand dollars. I could never afford that monthly."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have IBS-D, I've tried with different drugs, Xifaxan included, but anything helps me too much. During the first month of taking Viberzi 100mg. my symptoms changed dramatically (in a good way), I started being able to eat different food, included some of the ones that I used to avoid (chocolate, burgers, etc), just felt bloated and had more gas. But I have to say that after the first month, the effect is declining and now (3th month) is helping a little.. So, better than in the past, but not as helpfull as it was at the begining. Does anyone felling the same about the declining effect??"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have IBS-D for many years. It’s been debilitating. I’m afraid to travel, walk in my neighborhood, eat at restaurants, etc. It has been awful. Then my doctor prescribed Virberzi, 100 2X per day. It’s been a life altering experience! I have no symptoms of IBS. I can eat out, walk, travel, etc. I have had side effects at all. It is expensive without drug insurance though, but shop around until you find the best price."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I had diarhea from my IBS and Took 4 doses of 100 mg over a period of a week, and had a severe case of pain due to sphincter oddi. The pain was so severe in chest, back and abdomen and radiated down right arm. Also severe confusion and fainting prior to pain onset. The pain was immediate with no warning. I was transported by EMS to the ER. I was given trial packages that did not include side effects. It did stop the diarrhea , but the side effects were not worth it."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "First taking this drug I was skeptical because of the reviews where not assuring but, I tried it anyways because I had no where else to turn with the discomfort of IBS. I have been taking this medication for 3 months and it has done wonders worst part for me was starting the medication which gave stomachs cramping and fatigue tho, only lasted a couple days during the second month. I experienced constipation which was very new to me so I followed up with the doctor . He insisted for me to take only once a day instead of twice and I have had complete relief of the constipation in as little as three days. I do not have a gallbladder and this medication Works for me."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been having success for years controlling my symptoms with probiotics and a sugar-free, spice-free diet, but thought maybe with Viberzi I could eventually get back to eating anything I want again. You know, be "normal"? Wrong! After just a few days of taking it, I had pain like I have never felt before in my life - shooting up my back and stomach, to the point that I was vomiting nonstop and shooting pangs of diarrhea(!!) Isn't that what this drug is supposed to cure? It was like the worst case of food poisoning, but with indescribable pain. I remember saying "I'll take IBS-d over this any day!" I am back on my probiotics and my sugar free diet and finally recovered again. I'm glad that it works for some people, but not for me. Yikes"
