For Acne "I’m a bit taken aback from multiple negative feedbacks this BCP (birth control pill) is receiving. I had issues with my previous BCP, especially with acne and depression, so my doctor decided to switch me to Nikki. I love this birth control. I would get nausea for the first month; however, the following months were great! My skin cleared up, my sadness and sensitivity decreased, my weight stayed consistent, and my sex drive did not change. My period would last for 4 days max with light bleeding. A bonus: it also helped me with my ovarian cyst. I no longer feel pain in my abdomen, and it kept the cyst at bay. Although, do keep in mind our bodies react to pills differently. I hope this pill will give you the same benefits it did for me."

For Birth Control "This birth control, Nikki, has saved my life. Before I started taking it, I had severe anxiety. For over a year before, it was hard for me to go anywhere and live my life. Every time I was out, I would have an extreme panic attack and I would start to feel like I was lightheaded and about to pass out. I was so nervous to start this birth control because I’ve had bad side effects from others (moodiness, constant nausea). I didn’t know birth control could help with anxiety, but the first two days I started taking it, I could see a HUGE difference. I tried to stop taking it for the few period days, and my anxiety returned, so I’ve decided to skip my period days and continue taking it. I’m almost finished with my second pack and haven’t seen improvement in acne, and I do have sore breasts, but no other side effects. I’m sure this will improve with time. This birth control has saved my life and made me feel normal again! I recommend it for anyone suffering with extreme anxiety."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I am 38 years old. Got the Mirena IUD after my last child, who is now 13. The Mirena completely ruined my life. I kept BV the whole 5 years I had the Mirena, as well as recurrent yeast infections and persistent, drenching night sweats. I’m also convinced it ruined my thyroid, as I am now 2 years post-partial thyroidectomy due to a large, unexplained thyroid nodule. I went 10 years after having the Mirena removed before trying any kind of birth control. Due to PMDD and persistent night sweats, I then tried LoLo Estrin and then Balcoltra, but both caused extreme swelling in my legs. I took Yasmin as a teenager with no problems, and I have now completed my first month as a 38-year-old with no issues other than slight nausea. No PMDD, no leg swelling, no night sweats. Oh, and I’ve lost 8 pounds of pure water weight this month. Do not believe the negative reviews!! This has literally saved my life, my job, and my marriage!!!!"

For Birth Control "I am going on my fifth year taking this medication. I LOVE this pill. I was prescribed Lorena by a new doctor about three years ago, and I tried that for a short time only to have the worst bleeding, abdominal pain, and headaches of my life. I went back to my doctor, got them to prescribe me Nikki again, and I’ve never looked back. This medicine has helped me so much. It has fixed my irregular cycle and completely cured my acne. When I first started it, I do remember feeling nauseous and having headaches. But I continued on it and those symptoms went away very quickly. Like I said, it’s going to be my fifth year on this pill, and I will never take anything else."

For Acne "I’ve been on this Nikki birth control pill for about 3 weeks, and so far the side effects suck. It makes me feel more depressed, stomachaches, and it’s really hard for me to eat without feeling nauseous. I switched from the birth control Junel Fe, which did nothing for my skin. I’m also currently on spironolactone (have been for 3.5 months), which has helped my skin a lot. However, since switching to Nikki (Yaz generic), my skin has started breaking out like crazy. The zits I’m getting are huge, and some are painful. (I have 4 zits on my face right now that came out of nowhere.) Before I switched, I wasn’t getting these kinds of zits. However, I will say that I have a lot of hope! First of all, I was expecting an initial breakout. Breakouts are a common initial side effect of switching BC pills. From reading other reviews, most people say it gets worse before it gets better. I’m sticking with this. A few months from now, I’ll post an update on here to report on how my skin is doing."

For Birth Control "I am in my second week of my second month of this BC and have been nauseous every day, along with having terrible headaches. I honestly feel worse now than I ever did during my pregnancies. Wouldn’t recommend."

For Birth Control "I just started Nikki a month ago. For the first week, I had terrible nausea and headaches. However, now my skin is so, so clear. For the past 2 years, I have been struggling with terrible bloating to the point where I look pregnant. Nikki helped me feel less bloated, and I have lost 10 pounds in one month! I am 120 lbs now, so losing 10 lbs was a big deal for me! I am so happy and thankful for this pill. It really has transformed my life. Best of all, my copay is $0!"

For Acne "I’ve been on Nikki for 6 1/2 months now. Don’t get discouraged if you read about someone having bad side effects after being on the pill for a week, give the pill time to adjust to your body first. I’ve always been acne-prone, but in Fall of 2020, I started getting severe cystic acne along my neck, jawline, and cheeks. The cysts on my neck were new, so I knew something was wrong internally and did some research and tried Nikki. I didn’t experience any nausea, mood swings, or weight gain :) The first 2 months, I saw no change in my skin. By the end of month 3, I started seeing improvements, and the cysts on my neck were gone. The amount I was breaking out was less, but I was nowhere near clear in month 3 like a lot of people reported. Now I’m 1 week into month 7 and I don’t have 1 bump on my face! I still don’t feel I can say I have CLEAR skin yet because I have a lot of work that needs to be done with scarring and hyperpigmentation, however, I feel healthier, and my face is smooth!"

For Birth Control "Okay, ladies. Although I know hormones react differently with everyone, I was surprised by all the bad reviews on this pill. I didn’t have any side effects on Nikki other than slight nausea the first week or so. Other than that, everything has been PERFECT, no breakouts, no pregnancy, no long-term nausea (which I have suffered with on other pills). Plus, I get it sent in the mail, and it’s super convenient and affordable."

For Birth Control "Let me just start by saying I was terrified to start this pill based on all the reviews. I was previously on 'Mylan' (generic Yaz at my pharmacy) then had to switch to a mail order due to corporate greed. I am happy to report that I have had absolutely no issues with this medicine. My acne is still under control, I don't (and didn't) have any nausea, no weight gain, nothing!! I take this at 8 pm religiously, and it works great. Be aware if you were not on birth control previously, I did have some initial side effects with the start of Mylan brand (bloat, heartburn, mild nausea) but that is expected when going on birth control for the first time. After the initial adjustment period (1 to 2 months), it was smooth sailing and then the switch to Nikki (my 3rd month), it was like I never changed birth control pills."

For Birth Control "I took Loryna (another generic form of Yaz) for years without any problems. I got switched to another Yaz generic called Nikki about a year ago, and within months started feeling some terrible symptoms, like being out of breath with hardly any exertion and nausea. Then my legs started to swell and I had terrible back pain. Turned out I had a record-breaking sized blood clot from my heart all the way to my legs. After tests, I have no underlying factors such as genetics or Factor V, and birth control is the only plausible cause. Careful, ladies."

For Birth Control "I was super worried about starting this pill due to all of the negative feedback here, but it’s not bad at all. I used to be on Gianvi, but was put on Nikki due to insurance reasons, and my doctor assured me it should be the same exact experience. I’ve been on Nikki for 2 weeks and haven’t had any negative side effects, except for feeling nauseous a couple of times and feeling super hungry in the middle of the night a few times. No breakouts or weight gain."

For Birth Control "I have been on Nikki for a week and a half, and it completely messed up my stomach. I am always nauseous, always hungry, and I have been having diarrhea. I also constantly have a weird taste in my mouth that won’t go away no matter what I do. I haven’t been spotting or getting headaches, but I did break out a lot, and I have been very irritable. I cannot wait for this month to be over so I can switch birth controls again."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Yaz, but my pharmacy gave me Nikki because it's the brand my insurance would cover. I started on Monday, and by Wednesday, I was having hot flashes, nausea, and diarrhea. I take 10 mg of fluoxetine, and it was as if Nikki cancelled it out. Thursday, I went into a severe depression. I also have very clear skin, and I woke up with cystic bumps and inflammation. I have never had major issues with other brands of birth control, so I did some research and talked to a doctor. Nikki is linked to gastrointestinal issues and can trigger a gastritis episode in someone who already has digestive issues. I have been taking 300 mg of Ranitidine every day since March, and it doesn't seem to be helping since I started Nikki. I have been unable to work the last 4 days. I discontinued use on Saturday. Do not take it, especially if you're prone to digestive issues, anxiety, and depression! I should have considered the negative reviews beforehand."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "So I am ending my 3rd month of Nikki, and unfortunately I have gained about 10 pounds in the last 2 months. I’m very sensitive to hormone shifts, having PMDD for years, but really, since taking Nikki, I don’t feel any better. I know it can take months for the body to adjust, but I don’t know if I can stick this out any longer. The first 2 months I was nauseous almost every day, now my bloating is out of control, my stomach is always distended and worse right before my period starts. For the past two days I’ve had 2 people ask me if I was pregnant :(( I’m really over it. The only positive is my period went from 6-7 days to 3/4 with moderate bleeding. I still cramp 1-2 weeks before my period starts. It could work for you, but it just isn’t worth it for me at this point. I’m sad about it."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "This birth control at first decreased my appetite by a large comparison to previously used Junel 1/20. I tried this brand for the acne part, since I've seen dermatologists since I was 15 and nothing worked. Now almost 3 months into this brand, nothing has been done to clear my face, I sleep for entire days and am overcome with extreme tiredness. I get severe nausea and throw up at least 3 times a week, and I don't eat as much as I used to. I lost nearly 10 pounds in 2 months. A good thing was it stopped my painful period cramps and I haven't gotten a period since taking the pill. A very slight increase in boob size, but still very tender breasts."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this pill to anyone. It straight up tried to ruin my life. I've only been on this pill for a month and I had normal side effects for the first week (moodiness, nausea, etc.), but as time went on it just got worse and worse. I started to have major anxiety issues, which is something I haven’t dealt with in years, and it also caused me to have depression that’s gotten so bad in such a short time that my doctor had to put me on antidepressants. I’ve been angry ALL the time for absolutely no reason, it almost ruined my relationship because I would get mad at my boyfriend every single day over the most stupid things, but it was absolutely uncontrollable. This past month I’ve felt like I was going insane. My acne did get better and my period has been a lot lighter, but it’s not worth it. I’d rather bleed for the rest of my days than have to go through that again. Just don’t do it. Spare yourself."

For Acne "I have been on Nikki for 3 months now. In the first week or two, I felt nauseous and got headaches a lot. I use it for acne, and at first, it made my acne way worse, but when I was finishing up the second pack, it began to clear up my face. Now my face is pretty clear, but I feel tired all the time and have less motivation to do anything, but hopefully, this will go away. Overall though, I think my experience so far hasn't been too bad on Nikki, at least compared to other brands."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me over from Gianvi to Nikki. Since taking Nikki, which has been for about 4 months now, my once clear skin has become a playground for acne. Not only is my skin a problem, but my periods, my horrible cramps have come back, and I never know when it's coming. One of the main reasons for being on birth control is to regulate my cycle and also help with my PMDD. I plan things around when my cycle will be, and with this I have had to miss wax appointments because my period just shows up randomly. Can't forget to add the headaches, nausea, weight gain, blurred vision, and the biggest problem being mood swings and aggression it has caused me. I have found myself becoming increasingly aggressive, and that's not me. Thank goodness I went and saw my doctor last week, and I have now been switched back to Gianvi. I can't wait to feel back to normal again."

For Birth Control "I want to preface by saying everyone's body reacts differently to medications. Always ask your doctor for extra information on your medicines and things you should keep in mind. I have endometriosis, and I have tried Sprintec, Depo, and now Nikki. I have woken up at 2:30 am nauseous almost every day for two weeks after starting this pill, and I have vomiting. I know I haven't been on it long, but my doc said she'd try to prescribe me a birth control that makes me less nauseous. I read the entire pamphlet that came with the medicine, and it says you should get your blood tested for high potassium levels. Make sure to stay super hydrated while on this, and you exercise. Those two things have helped me a lot. I'm probably going to switch doctors soon and hopefully get a medication that actually works."

For Birth Control "I've been on Nikki for almost 2 months now, and for all the ladies saying that this is the worst birth control ever, I beg to differ. I had nausea for the first week, but it quickly passed. My periods are better, and I don't have cramping. Keep in mind, THIS IS A HORMONE!! It will alter the hormones in your body, and it's not for everyone! Before you decide to switch birth controls, consider Nikki because my periods are so much better, and I'm not pregnant :))"

For Birth Control "Nikki was the worst experience of my life. I was reluctant to go back on birth control as my experience in the past has been negative. I took Nikki for 13 days. On day 9, I had severe heartburn that turned into vomiting, cold sweats, feeling full when I had nothing in my stomach for almost 24 hours. The next day, I was weak, depressed, and had a raging headache. Initially, I thought I’d gotten food poisoning, but the symptoms persisted. I am nauseous all the time, headaches throughout the day, and completely exhausted. I would have one or two bites of light meals and immediately feel sick. Not only that, but my anxiety is through the roof. I’m not normally a very anxious person, but this medication is making me paranoid, mean, and sad. Don’t let your doctor prescribe it. Find something better."

For Birth Control "I had the worst experience with this birth control. I have been taking Gianvi for years, which is another generic form of Yaz. I had to switch pharmacies and my new pharmacy doesn't carry Gianvi, so they gave me Nikki instead. I took one pill, and within 12 hours I saw all the side effects. I woke up, and my heart was racing, I was sweating, and I had severe nausea. I would rather pay extra for the name brand Yaz than ever take this again."

"I am 23 years old, and as a first-time BC user, Nikki has been better than I expected. I was skeptical because of all the bad reviews, but it has turned out to be great! I’ve gotten nausea and occasional migraines, but that’s just my body getting used to it. Three weeks later, it’s been a lot better. No weight gain; because of the nausea, it’s changed my eating, so I’ve lost a few pounds. My skin is clearer, and my period wasn’t as heavy as it was. Don't stop taking it after a few days; your body needs a month to get used to it. Side effects are normal. So far, no major complaints. I would recommend!"

For Acne "I want to remind y’all that everyone’s body is different, so the side effects and bad experiences people post do not mean they will happen to you! I was freaking out because I started this Nikki birth control pill and then looked at the reviews, and everyone made it seem awful. However, my experience has been great! It cleared my acne, and the only side effect was that in the first few days after taking the pill, I would get stomach cramps that would go away, but it was all normal because my body was just getting used to hormones. I haven’t gained a pound, I'm not depressed at all, maybe a little bit more of a temper but nothing terrible, no breast tenderness but they look fuller, and no nausea. Please just don’t get freaked out about the reviews because everyone’s body reacts differently."
