For Birth Control "I am going on my fifth year taking this medication. I LOVE this pill. I was prescribed Lorena by a new doctor about three years ago, and I tried that for a short time only to have the worst bleeding, abdominal pain, and headaches of my life. I went back to my doctor, got them to prescribe me Nikki again, and I’ve never looked back. This medicine has helped me so much. It has fixed my irregular cycle and completely cured my acne. When I first started it, I do remember feeling nauseous and having headaches. But I continued on it and those symptoms went away very quickly. Like I said, it’s going to be my fifth year on this pill, and I will never take anything else."

For Birth Control "I liked how clear this pill, Nikki, made my skin, but that was really the only positive. I experienced headaches, very heavy periods with bad cramping, and bleeding between periods (at times as heavy as a normal period!). I thought maybe my body needed time to adjust, but after 8 months of feeling like I was bleeding all the time and always in pain, I switched birth control. I love how clear my skin was, but it's not worth it."

For Birth Control "If I could give this a zero and wipe the pill off the earth forever, I would. I was on Yaz until March, I had an issue with my insurance and got switched to Nikki. I already have anxiety and depression, all of which were completely under control at the time I switched to Nikki. The first few months were fine with no side effects. About six months ago, my attitude took an insane turn, my anxiety and depression had reached levels I could not handle anymore. I kept putting it off, thinking I was finally just at my breaking point. And now, exactly one and a half months ago, I have not stopped bleeding/spotting. Seriously, not even for one day has it stopped. The past six months I've gained nearly 10 pounds because I can not stop eating, the hunger cravings will not go away. I finally looked up all the reviews I possibly could and I'm now seeing how many people are saying the same thing happened to them."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I decided to take birth control to help with my PMDD; my anxiety and OCD would get much worse, and my depression would flare up, starting about 11 days before my period. I dreaded whenever I had a special event or work deadline due around that time of the month. So I decided to try birth control recently. My anxiety increased for a couple of weeks upon taking it, but this anxiety has leveled off and now I don’t notice it affecting my mood in a negative way at all. I have noticed no hair loss, weight gain, or acne, thankfully. I have been taking Nikki (generic) for about two months now, and I’m amazed by how I don’t have PMS anymore! (I decided, upon the doctor's recommendation, to take the pill continuously-skipping placebo pills-so I don’t have periods anymore; so this may be why I don’t have the PMS). Only negative side effect: breakthrough bleeding about 10 days during the first month, but it’s been much lighter and less time this month."

For Birth Control "I took Nikki for 2 years between 2017-2019. I bled randomly during sex all the time, and I was always on the verge of crying, but Nikki helped me lose weight and made my periods less heavy (I used to have to wear an adult diaper during my periods because it was so heavy). I stopped using it at the beginning of 2020, and my psoriasis came back with a fury, and my periods were so random (sometimes heavy, sometimes light, sometimes only lasted one day). I started taking generic Yaz, which was okay, but my psoriasis wasn’t going away. Now I have been taking Nikki again (it’s April 2023) for a little over a month, and my acne is going away, my psoriasis has subsided, and no weight loss or weight gain has occurred. However, I have random cramping all the time, and again, every little thing makes me cry. I take the bad with the good with this medication. It might work for you, it might not. DO NOT TAKE THIS WITH WELLBUTRIN. I went crazy when I took both."

For Birth Control "I have been bleeding for 103 days straight. Not just spotting. Bleeding. I have zero desire, so my relationship has suffered. I was prescribed this medication to no longer have periods and to help with cramps. This has helped with nothing."

For Birth Control "I've taken other birth control pills to treat my acne, and this one is the worst that I've been taking so far, and I hope to stop it as soon as possible. The pills significantly decreased my menstrual blood flow. However, I've been bleeding straight for half a month. I doubt if this works on acne. Immediately after taking my first pill, I had another severe acne breakout. I was at my home on spring break, and I'm sure the breakout isn't from stress or the lack of sleep."

For Birth Control "I've been on Loryna for years, and I fell in love with how well I adjusted with no side effects. THEN CVS switches me to Nikki and promised it was the same exact medicine (yeah right), and that I should have no issues. But what they don't tell you is that the inactive ingredients can fluctuate from brand to brand and have horrid interactions with your body, and let me tell you, Nikki is the pits! The first week I couldn't stop crying, three months in, I'm STILL CRYING! I have broken out in hives, struggle with severe headaches, and constantly endure tender, painful breasts. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the recent two weeks of nonstop bleeding I experienced while not even being scheduled to start my cycle. This was it! I was done. I switched my pharmacy to Walgreens, and I am back on Loryna, and within four hours of taking the first Loryna pill, my bleeding stopped. I wouldn't give this BC (Nikki) to my worst enemy."

For Birth Control "I first started this pill 6 months ago. It cleared up my acne very quickly. However, continuing the pill, I became very moody and anxious about everything. I have also experienced some weight gain and major cravings, and while I am very active, I found it hard to resist cravings and work out more. I have become very tired, pissed off, and unmotivated. I am in high school, and there is no reason for me to feel any of these symptoms, but it has messed with my hormones terribly. Before BC, I would have up to 5-day-long light periods. Now, I bleed up to a week and a half, heavier than before also. I do not recommend; the only positive factor is clear skin (and not getting pregnant, I guess)."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control, Nikki, for only about 2 weeks. I can already tell the difference in my mood. I'm more irritable now and less of my happy self. I can't even tell when I had my period because I have had heavy bleeding since I started this medication. I am going to finish the pack, but after that, I'm done with this medication. I can't keep buying pads for this heavy bleeding. It's definitely not worth it to me."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "This Nikki contraceptive pill is horrible! I had been taking Gianvi or Loryna for years, and suddenly my pharmacy gave me this stuff instead. I have been tired, moody, cramping, and bleeding since I started this stuff 2 weeks ago! Unfortunately, my insurance will only authorize refills from their online pharmacy, and this is all they claim they have right now. Stay away from this stuff if at all possible."

"Nikki contraceptive pill is truly terrible. I usually take Loryna or Yaz, but Nikki was available for much cheaper and was supposed to be the same, according to the pharmacy. It wasn't for me. I only took the pills for about a week and experienced mood swings, paranoia, and breakthrough bleeding. I went back to the pharmacy and ended up paying full price for Yaz just to try to get back to normal. Although the mood swings have stopped, I have now been on my period for two weeks, so I have no idea how long it will take to fully recover from the awful effects of Nikki."

For Birth Control "Terrible. I’ve been on this pill for 3 months. I’ve only had about 1 week cumulative in those three months where I wasn’t spotting or bleeding. Terrible mood swings and depression. Extremely painful periods. I did not get pregnant, which means it did its job, but honestly, there weren’t many occasions where there was a risk of getting pregnant, lol. With constant heavy periods and cramping, there was hardly any desire to have sex. Worst birth control I’ve ever tried."

For Acne "This pill was absolutely awful for me. I bled every day for the 7 months I was on it and also have never been more depressed. I also experienced severe fatigue every day for the first few months on it (I had to skip classes because of how tired I was). I switched from Junel because of how badly it broke out my skin, and Nikki definitely cleared it all up, but it wasn’t worth it at all. Of course, everyone is different, but I just wanted to share my experience."

For Birth Control "I was fine the first few months, I skipped a couple of periods and then forgot my pills when I was out of town and missed 2. Now I have been bleeding for 32 days, despite the fact that I'm continually taking my pill since I forgot. Going to switch meds."

For Birth Control "I was on this for about 3-4 years. The first year or two was great, I had clear skin and my periods were fine, no depression. My doctor recommended this to help clear my acne. It did about that. EXCEPT, after 3 years, I would get recurrent BV and yeast infections from antibiotics. My gynecologist had no idea why I kept getting so many. One at least every month! Breakthrough bleeding that would happen for a week to a few days before my period. Zero sex drive. I finally stopped taking Nikki because I couldn't stand bleeding for a week every month before I would get my actual period. It has been 2 months off it and I have no more breakthrough bleeding. Although my first period off Nikki was extremely painful and heavy."

For Birth Control "This is the first ever BC pill I've been on. I've been taking it for 2.5 months. It makes me REALLY hungry, bloated, and has given me acne, which is something I've never dealt with before (even as a teenager). It's also giving me stomachaches, and I have some bleeding in between periods, which worries me because I feel like that throws off my cycle."

For Birth Control "I've almost finished my second pack. During the first pack, I was concerned because my period started much earlier than expected. The doc said irregular periods can be normal for the first 4 months. With this second pack, my period has also come earlier. My periods usually last 4 or 5 days and are almost exactly 4 weeks apart. My first period after beginning the pill lasted 9 days. Two weeks later, my period started again, and I am on day 10 with bright red bleeding. Some days it slows, some days it is really heavy. I haven't noticed a difference with acne yet, but I'm just wondering...is this irregularity really normal? I see most people say their periods have gotten shorter and lighter. I started taking this a week before I married so we could make sure we had at least a year of marriage first, being we already have 6 children between the two of us. But this has made the beginning of our marriage lacking sex because I'm on my menstrual cycle more than I'm off it!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have never written a review, this is how awful Nikki is. I was on Loryna for months, and it worked perfectly (in combination with Prozac and Buspar). I started Nikki, and not only have my PMS mood swings come back, but it is seriously as if Nikki is making my antidepressants and anxiety meds completely useless and ineffective, regardless of the time of month. Also, I've been spotting between periods, which is obviously less than ideal. On Loryna, I had absolutely no breakthrough bleeding, even when I started. I asked the pharmacist if switching from Loryna to Nikki could be the cause of the mood swings and breakthrough bleeding (even though they are both generics for Yaz), and she said it can definitely happen, especially given literally nothing in my life has changed except my birth control. 0/10 do not recommend."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Nope! My pharmacy switched me to Nikki birth control pill from Gianvi, which I had previously been on for months. My first month on Nikki was okay, but I noticed that I was experiencing severe cramping the week before I started the 'white' pills. This stayed consistent. Now on month 3, I have experienced nonstop bleeding for more than a week, extreme abdominal cramping, trouble sleeping, bodily fatigue, which has impacted my work (I work a very active outdoor job) and, as of last night, more bleeding. I thought there was something severely wrong with my body until I looked up reviews for this pill. I do not recommend this Nikki! I’ll be stopping immediately until I can find a pharmacy that will transfer me back to Gianvi."
