For Birth Control "So before I was on Cyred EQ for 4 months. I switched to Nikki because of my cramps. So I noticed my breasts got bigger, I gained 4 pounds in one month, my appetite is just, oh my gosh, I get hungry all the time. I have horrible mood swings. I watched the Grinch movie that just came out, and I was sobbing because the Grinch was being nice to his dog - I'm serious. This birth control is horrible, it didn't help my acne, I noticed more when I got on Nikki. I feel so heavy. I'm switching to Yaz."

For Birth Control "My experience is similar to everyone else's. I was on Gianvi for years, but then my pharmacy switched me to Nikki. I’ve been on it 3-4 months now, and I’m happy to say I’m never going back. I became a lunatic on Nikki - strong mood swings, emotional, crying. I’ve been retaining water, and worst of all, my acne is horrible. I had bad acne as a teenager, but when I went on Gianvi, it went away. Now, on Nikki, I can count on having at least 6 cystic pimples on my cheeks (I’ve never broken out on my cheeks before) at any given point in time. Not a good substitute."

For Acne "I'm on my 2nd pack of Nikki birth control, so I'm about a month and a half in, and my skin has absolutely never looked worse than it does right now. My skin has always been pretty smooth for the most part, with maybe some breakouts on my chin or forehead, but since I started Nikki, I've had terrible acne all over my face, sometimes even on my neck. I switched pharmacies, and I believe that my new pharmacy doesn't have the generic form of Yaz that my other pharmacy carried, but the generic form of Yaz I was taking before Nikki never made my skin look this awful. I've also been feeling significantly more depressed and anxious recently, and I hadn't contributed that shift in mood to Nikki until I read other people on here saying that Nikki made them feel more depressed and anxious - now I'm suspicious! I've read some people on here say that Nikki didn't start helping their acne until around month three, so I'm gonna wait another month or two and come back to update y'all."

For Acne "I've been on Nikki for almost three weeks, and my skin has been breaking out like crazy. I went on the pill for a little cystic acne on my chin, but so far it's made my skin terrible all over. Oily but also dry, red, irritated, textured. I'm gonna stick with this for a while since many people say this is normal and it will get better after a couple of months. I'll post an update after my second month!"

For Birth Control "I started Nikki about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I swapped off of Slynd because it was the worst thing to happen to me. My weight has fluctuated so much, so it’s hard to tell if I lost weight, but I definitely feel better about myself. My skin was really bad the first 2 weeks, and I've recently had bad skin, which is why I switched to this pill. Not even one little blemish on my face, and I feel great. It is hard to tell on emotions because my last ones affected them so much, but I am happier. I am hoping to lose weight on this pill instead of gaining."

For Birth Control "Took Gianvi for years to regulate period, for acne and migraines, and it always worked great. Then the pharmacy switched to Nikki, and only 10 days in, I think it is a horrible medication, I've become anxious, moody, have weight gain, acne, and insomnia - it is horrible. Don't take this med."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control, Nikki, for a week and a half. I have already developed cystic acne (from absolutely no acne ever), headaches, and extreme hunger. I switched from Junel Fe, hoping Nikki would help with my cramping and lighten my periods. I am already annoyed with this birth control, I will be switching as soon as possible."

For Acne "I have just finished my first pack. The first 2 weeks, I had annoying headaches and got really moody. The 3rd week wasn’t too bad. Now I’m starting to get really bad acne. I got on birth control for acne because I’ve been dealing with acne since I was a teenager, but this acne is way worse. Cystic, painful acne all over my cheek/chin area. I’m only a month in, but I wouldn’t recommend this brand. If you could get/afford another... please do."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I'd been taking Gianvi for 4 years, and I loved it. But I was forced to switch to Nikki last year since all of the pharmacies where I live stopped carrying Gianvi, and I'm not happy. It does fine at regulating my cycle but does not help with my cramps (I have endometriosis, though, so take that into consideration). It also does a pretty good job keeping my PMDD under control, but I'm also taking an antidepressant, so that works against my depressive mood swings as well. It's not great with preventing acne, I've been getting a lot of hormonal cystic acne. However, my big complaint is that I have been getting frequent intense headaches and menstrual migraines since I started Nikki. I can live with cramps, mood swings, and acne, but these headaches put me out of commission, and it's interrupting my life. However, because of my PMDD, I have to be on this specific pill, and I can't afford name brand. My advice is to avoid this pill if you can, especially if you're switching from another BC."

For Birth Control "I was switched over to Nikki because my insurance covered all of it, and I’m here for free birth control. But I would rather pay the $30 for my old birth control than get this for free. After switching, my mood swings became noticeably worse, and my acne started acting up. I’m currently on my period on this brand, and NOTHING is better. Birth control typically makes my period lighter and a lot easier to deal with, but my cramps are as bad as they are without the pill, and I’m throwing up and have diarrhea, which is normal for me when I’m not even on the pill. So all in all, I’m just disappointed that I don’t feel any better, my acne came back, I’m way more emotional, and my period is horrible."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Was prescribed Yaz, insurance gave Nikki. Always try to be educated with what I'm taking. Reviews were a little intimidating, and despite being more negative than positive, decided to try for myself. By the second day, started breaking out with cystic acne and extremely emotional. Crying, agitated, and depressed by day 7. (Didn't have acne prior.) Talked to the prescribing doctor and stopped after day 8. Despite reading possible side effects, nothing could prepare me for how quick and hard they hit. Not a good fit for me personally. Feel like Nikki should give a better warning about how extreme things can be beforehand."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this from Vestura because Walgreens stopped carrying it. I didn't notice much of a difference. Seems to work fine (not pregnant), I get the occasional headache, and my period has remained regular and has become very light. Don't ever spot or get crazy acne. I like that the Vestura came in a little pouch, and this one is a pack with a cardboard flip front."

For Birth Control "I’m going into my 3rd pack with Nikki birth control, and I must say it has truly been a roller coaster. I recently got my tubes tied 3 years ago, and I was prescribed Nikki to help regulate my cycle and help with my cystic acne. So far, with my cycle, it has definitely gotten better; it’s just after my period I’m light spotting a while before the flow comes to a complete stop. Now, as far as the acne, I don’t know what to think. When I was on my second pack, my face broke out so bad I just wanted to give up right then and there. I had gotten so many big red bumps and scarring on my face; the purging was horrible. Now that I’m on my third pack, when I got my period, I still broke out, but it wasn't that bad, so I’m hoping within the next few months my acne gets completely under control."

For Acne "This pill was absolutely awful for me. I bled every day for the 7 months I was on it and also have never been more depressed. I also experienced severe fatigue every day for the first few months on it (I had to skip classes because of how tired I was). I switched from Junel because of how badly it broke out my skin, and Nikki definitely cleared it all up, but it wasn’t worth it at all. Of course, everyone is different, but I just wanted to share my experience."

For Birth Control "Made me break out severely to the point it took months of expensive skincare and getting off this pill to get my breakouts under control. I was literally breaking out in my cheeks, which has never been a problem area for me. Every day, there were new breakouts, and not just little ones, like cystic ones that hurt. I would never take this pill again."

For Birth Control "I will switch from Vestura to this medication, and ever since, I have a stomach ache all the time. I always have to eat something before I take it, if I don't, I will have the worst nausea and stomach pain. My acne got a little worse, and I cramp when I get my period, which didn't happen with my other medication. Nikki is not so good."

For Birth Control "I'm 22 years old, female, and I started taking Nikki around 3-4 years ago. A little backstory, I was new to taking birth control and started with the NuvaRing, but it made me so anxious and depressed to the point where I had suicidal thoughts. I only then realized it was linked to the NuvaRing. My doctor then switched me to Junel Fe, and that made me bloat so bad and worsened my acne. I then did research and requested to use Nikki/Yaz, which was the best decision I've ever made. I lost weight on Nikki, my acne has gotten better, it prevented pregnancy, and my boobs are more perky! I never experienced any depression on this pill! And for my sex drive, it was low, and I was kind of dry on some occasions, but nothing like the desert. I was still able to get wet. Overall, I recommend giving it a try; it's different for everyone, but it really helped me out. I'm sad to have to change my birth control due to my health insurance changing."

For Birth Control "Walgreens stopped Vestura and switched me to Nikki. I was on it for 3 months, and it caused me to have horrible acne that literally never went away. And I mean like the same blemishes stayed on my face for 2 months straight and didn't go away until I stopped taking Nikki. It caused me to have bruises all over my legs to the point I actually looked like a dalmatian. I counted 43 bruises at its worst. As soon as I stopped taking Nikki, the bruises and my acne cleared up in a week. It also made me abnormally tired. I am an early riser and usually wake up around 7 or 8 on my own. When I started taking Nikki, I couldn't wake up before 10 and even then I still felt tired. DO NOT TAKE NIKKI."

For Birth Control "This medication is horrible. I had been taking Vestura for over a year and had no problems, but my pharmacy randomly switched me to Nikki, and it was awful. I have had terrible mood swings, and my acne has gotten significantly worse. I went from having a pimple occasionally to my entire forehead and chin being constantly broken out from the time I started taking this medication. I do not recommend taking Nikki. I was only on it for a month and switched immediately."

For Birth Control "This is the first ever BC pill I've been on. I've been taking it for 2.5 months. It makes me REALLY hungry, bloated, and has given me acne, which is something I've never dealt with before (even as a teenager). It's also giving me stomachaches, and I have some bleeding in between periods, which worries me because I feel like that throws off my cycle."

For Birth Control "Honestly surprised by all the negative reviews. I switched to Nikki off of another pill that was making me over the top emotional and a bit anxious. On Nikki, I'm absolutely back to my normal self, and I was pumped to find out it's covered 100% by my insurance. The only downside I'm having with this pill is the fact that I've started getting acne, and that's something that I've never dealt with, not even as a teen. I've only been on it for a few months though, so I'm hoping that'll clear up as time goes on."

For Birth Control "Before getting put on Nikki, I was on Yaz, and it did terribly for me. So when I was prescribed Nikki, I was so, so scared. I had felt so crazy from Yaz, and I was just terrified for Nikki. I won’t lie, the reviews scared me as well. But when I tell you this has been my holy grail... I’m not lying. Nikki has done wonders for my skin and period! I have been on Nikki for around 2 years now. I had been struggling with acne and undiagnosed endo. Within 3 months, my acne was gone and nowhere to be seen to this day. I still have breakouts around my period, but not nearly as bad. I do believe that this birth control does reduce your sex drive, though. My periods are always scheduled on time, and my cramps are so, so much less painful than before!"
